LadyExcellency:The North is bound to have more people in the Forces, but it is not because of any fault of theirs. The truth is most of us from the South (SW, SE, SS) would not readily join the armed forces. We feel we are too educated and too sophisticated for that. I know of a few people whose families actually barred and strongly discouraged from joining the NDA after they finished secondary school, not to now talk of finishing higher education and saying you want to join Army, Navy, Customs etc. They will just call a family meeting on your case. The reverse is the case in the North though. They consider the armed forces as a place of prestige. Also, the less educated can easily get into the Armed forces, and you will agree that the North is under-educated. It is only now because of the high rate of unemployment that people from the South are now considering the Forces as a means of steady income. |
MARGINALIZATION must surely be mentioned several times on this thread. Let me go and read comments to confirm. ![]() |
hotobo:Why are you spreading false news bros. The Algeria vs South Africa match will be played at 7pm. |
We were just lucky. Senegal had chances to score but didn't take them. They had a penalty and we had one. I think luck played a big part in it - Siasia speaking to Bein Sport. |
bord:Next year. |
Finally through to Rio 2016 soccer competition. I don't see many of these players making it though. They've done well to qualify us at least. Thanks boys. |
Ref you nor go blow? ![]() |

Koolmexxi:The GEJ led government tried to remove fuel subsidy in January 2012 and Nigerians resisted the move largely because they felt the government was insincere and was only going to pass on hardship to Nigerians by allowing fuel prices to increase by almost 50%. The government then said they would introduce palliatives to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal. They introduced Sure-P, promised mass transit buses and even said they would try to get refineries working. But how well did they do any of these. The main reason Nigerians kicked against fuel subsidy removal was because there was a lack of trust. All the GEJ led government needed to do was win the trust of Nigerians by taking sincere actions. Now ask yourself, if the FG then had used the two years between 2012-2014 to rigorously and sincerely put all the palliatives they promised in place to ensure that if subsidy is eventually removed, Nigerians would not complain as much as they did in 2012, and they had carried out mass enlightenment to educate the populace about the fuel subsidy issue even to the grassroots and win over more converts to the subsidy removal side, wouldn't it have been possible to remove the subsidy say at the end of 2014? If they had spent half the funds they spent on the media bashing of Buhari prior to the last elections to educate the uninformed about the long-term benefits of fuel subsidy removal maybe it would have been removed long before now. Mind you, the same FG reduced fuel prices from N97 to N87 in January 2015 due to crashing oil prices. I can't blame Occupy Nigeria. The FG under any leadership including Buhari's government must learn to carry the citizenry along when introducing policies that may affect them adversely short term or long term. If I'm to tell my wife to endure and drink garri for a better tomorrow, I must be sincere enough to show her my plan towards achieving that better tomorrow. I can't just tell her from today you will be drinking garri, when I'm busy enjoying isi ewu and heineken in one corner. |
tete7000:Maybe those are the people who listen to him with an open mind. Anything he says here is usually met with remarks like "Dullard", "Dullardino", "Terrorist", "Propaganda", "Junketer" etc. |
MrLexander:Behold, another person with comprehension problem. So you can't see clearly where PMB's reported comments to IPAC ended, and where another report about the protesting women in Bayelsa starts. Try and read with understanding bro. Er, your insults are welcome. I'm sure they are bound to come. |
Na wa o! From boring goalless draws to scoring two and conceding 3. It's all over biko. A top four finish is probably all there is left to play for in the season. We remain United. |
Dear CSKA Moscow, please give us this day as it seems we are not capable of doing so ourselves. Just do the near impossible and beat PSV. We promise we will buy Ahmed Musa for £50m and Seydou Doumbia for £70m. We will even add Memphis Depay as bonus. Please ehn. Oga Philosophy, I dey take corner eye look you o. Issorai. mukina2:Shhhh. Why are you shouting? Arsenal down qualify? |
sammhi:Bros, try and lie small small now. GEJ carried out the ground-breaking ceremony for the 2nd Niger Bridge in March, 2014. Prior to that there had been an earlier ground-breaking ceremony for the same bridge under Yar Adua. The quote below is from GEJ during that 2014 ceremony: 'He said, “The first groundbreaking ceremony was done by former president Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and for obvious reasons, government did not take into consideration certain factors that caused the delay and to ensure the take-off of construction works. What I have done today is to ensure that groundbreaking works commence”. He added that the project is expected to be delivered in four years’ time.' http://leadership.ng/news/353970/jonathan-complete-2nd-niger-bridge-4-years As for the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, I'm sure you remember that it started under OBJ with the contentious Bi-Courtney contract that ended in court. GEJ only reawarded it to new contractors in Julius Berger and RCC. Government is a continuum. There is nothing wrong if this present government continue where the last left off. Or would you rather they abandon the projects? |
Some comments here just goes to show that some folks still don't understand how this democracy works. So some Senator proposed a bill. Doesn't mean the house will pass it, doesn't mean the President supports it or will sign it to law. Yes, it was good that we kicked against it, but blaming the President for a bill that didn't emanate from him is plain dumb. That's how someone said Buhari is bent on capturing Bayelsa. Seriously? APC or Tinubu maybe. Buhari, I doubt. He has already captured what he wants; the Presidency. He could care less about who governs Bayelsa. |
KEVIND:I believe that the disappointment some Nigerians have with GEJ is the fact that he was supposed to be one of us. He wasn't a part of the ex military brigade like OBJ. He wasn't from an aristocratic background like Yar Adua. He wasn't from a background of the same set of people who had drained this country for close to 50 years. This was a regular Joe from the creeks who had no shoes, but came to a place of prominence through a balance of hard work and providence. An academic with a PhD. He was supposed to be a breath of fresh air. But in the end, he just seemed to fit in with the program and follow in the steps of his predecessors. He left many feeling disappointed and disillusioned. |
mukina2:Why you dey disturb Edwife now? She's on bed rest. |
I just came here to gloat. Draw soup is better than "loss" soup. |
Na wa o! Where will we ever find a goal from o! Chineke. |
mukina2:Na only your baby daddy I see o. |
Another twist in the tale. I'm liking this movie. ![]()

Freegift75:As in..., ol' boy no be small matter. Make I order more popcorn.

Hairdryer treatment loading. If I be Siasia, I go slap somebody this night o. But he needs to check his tactics too. Giving up leads in two consecutive games? Well, almost in the first game. |
chukkiephil:He is trying very hard to make up for his earlier error. |
Truth be told, this 4-4-2 is leaving our midfield flat and putting our full backs under pressure. The ineffective wingers aren't tracking back. |
Somex10202:Lol. I tire o. |
oshe11:Yes, but the Egyptian player had his hand away from his body. If it was close to his body it might be a different matter. It was like he put his hand up, kind of by reflex. |
oshe11:When you have your hand out in the air like that in the box, it's not ball to hand. |
*in commentator's voice* Chuckweizeeeeeeer!!! |
Farnsworth:In today's world of management it is actually argued that too many meetings can be counter productive. In my office, we used to have management meetings every week, but at the start of this year we restructured it to two per month. One to discuss operational issues where the previous month's activites are reviewed, goals for the new month is set and plans outlined, and a second meeting where management strategies are discussed. Emergency meetings can be called when necessary. So far it has been more effective than the weekly meetings. |
Walelavender:If Sokari was to travel for European trials a day before the final Enyimba game, would he have cancelled his trip to attend this victory party on the basis of youthful exuberance? It's just a lack of focus on the big picture. Or he just took it for granted that he can't be dropped. |
