Hello my fellow nairalanders, good day. How was your day all? I know most of you will be like who is this? I have been on this platform for the past 2 years but i only read comments, i never posted before because i didn't have any tangible things to post but i used to check for updates very well Lol, let me quickly introduce myself. My write up will be a little bit long, please bear with me. I am a university graduate, graduated from university in October 2019, i graduated from one of the state university in southwest, i studied education course and graduated with 3.46 ( second class lower honours division). I am 25 years of age ( will be 26 by June). I am from a family of 8, i am the second born of my family, the oldest who is my brother is also a university graduate and my immediate sister too is also a university graduate, all of us graduated from state university, others are still in high school ( but will soon finish). I went for NYSC immediately i graduated in 2019 as i didn't have any issue with the school and i have the money to do the final clearance. So i had my NYSC in plateau state between November 2019 to October 2020, my batch was 2019 Batch C stream 1.So i left plateau state immediately after my NYSC in October 2020. I was posted to school to teach. I taught Fulani students. I really enjoyed plateau state. Since i was born till now, all thanks to Almighty God and my parents ( especially my momsy) who have been there for me academically, financially, morally, spirituality. I pray Almighty God continue to grant my parents good health and wealth. So as i was saying, after my NYSC in October 2020, i went back home and started hunting for jobs, applied for many jobs, submitted CV's online and offline but to no avail. One of my relative's husband who is a civil defence officer got me a security job in an hotel but it later didn't work out. So later on, this same relative got me a teaching job in a private school where she also teaches. So i was there for 8months with her but the pay was very low,i couldn't cope, i was only managing pending the time i will get a good job ( this was around April to December 2021). Luckily for me, around this time, the state government brought out a recruitment form for teachers into public schools in the state and i applied,my sister also applied alongside with other staffs in the school. We went for C.B.T exam, interview. Lastly i was the only one shortlisted among all of us, that was how i left the private teaching job to government teaching job where the government posted me to. This was October 2021 The employment was a contract employment which will last for the period of 2 years ( we started October 2021 to October 2023). The pay was a slightly above the minimum wage and they used to delay out payment. I was only managing it ( we all know everything in this country is managing, no one has it in abundant) Luckily for us, the state government confirmed our appointment last year October and absorbed us fully into the state public service. So our salary was raised to a salary of grade level 8 officer. We were given appointment letter last year December, and the effective date on the appointment letter is 2nd January 2024 which means our appointment started from January 2024. So, we were told that it will be after 3 months before they will begin payment ( this is how they normally does it for all the newly employed workers into the public or civil service) they will pay the 3 months together though. Since we have been given permanent employment letter, we have been spending money in doing one registration or the other, ranging from submission of documents, medical tests, and so on. We were even asked to come for biometric capturing this week at the state secretariat. The issue no is how i am going to survive till they start paying us. I won't lie to you, i have been borrowing money upon money to live, my parents have been giving me money to survive and i don't want to be disturbing them all the time, they have my siblings to take care of. Even, last year December i was diagnosed with malaria and typhoid but i only took injection. I don't have money to buy drugs to use, till now i haven't gotten over it. The worst part of this is that my house rent will be due by 4th of march ( the house rent is 30k for single room). I have a lots of debts outside to pay. I don't have money to go for the biometric capturing. I don't have money to go to work. I have been borrowing money to eat pending the time they will start paying us. I am very broke right now. I am not begging for money but please i need help. If you are blessed and you feel to help. Loveabove:Hmm, there is nothing much good as taking care of your child/children yourself, they can never have 💯% home/ child training anywhere else particularly orphanage homes where they will be with children with various character, but nature has it's way of turning things against our mind. Based on your current conditions, you can take them there as that is the only way for you but make sure you are going there to check on them frequently and when you are back on your feet, you can take them back. I wish you and the children the very best of luck in life. |
Homeandaway:But you bleeped the hell out of her too. Lol 😂 i know. Toto don put you for wahala |
funnyDM:Please, can you tell me the ideas? I am a university graduate, i graduated from one of the state university in Southwest and i studied technical education, i graduated 4 years ago and i'm done serving. I am 25 years of age. Since after my service, that was 3years ago, i have been doing menial jobs like teaching in private schools and earning peanut, working as a security guard in my hotel, doing home lessons with meagre pay, all the monies are not sustainable but it's just about getting something doing pending the time good job comes. Fortunately 2years ago, i was employed by the into the state civil service to teach in public secondary school in my state but it is on contract which the duration of the contract will last in a month time. The pay is not encouraging and not regular but we hope it will be reviewed when the appointment is being confirmed. Since i started the work, i have been staying in a single room in which i can afford but i have been buying some household items like generator, TV, plastic chairs and and table, bed, furnitures and so on. I am planning to move out of the room to a room and Parlour self contain because the stress of living in a single room is much but no money yet. I just wish to hear your ideas maybe it can be beneficial to me. Please, you can share it to me on my Gmail account :taofeekokikiola64@gmail.com Or you can message me on WhatsApp on 08141984297 Thanks |
simfrost90210:With Technical drawing He is a genius |
geedot:You are right. They all attended very good schools |
lasheun:He is a private school student. I know the school very well, it is located around Ibadan road, Asero, Abeokuta, Ogun state. The school is one of the best among both private and public schools in Abeokuta and it's environs. They offer quality education and doesn't engage in examination malpractice. Conducive learning environment, well equipped and functioning laboratories, qualified teachers. Most schools engage in examination malpractice but not all schools. There are some brilliant students that are being trained by good tutors |
AllenSpencer:It's real I know the school, it's one of the best private school in Abeokuta and it's environs. They offer quality education and doesn't engage in examination malpractice |
Wowdesigns:Examination malpractice do happens in public schools too. From teachers writing the whole answers on the board to the students bringing phones and expos into the examination hall . You will hardly see a school ( either public or private) that doesn't engages in examination malpractice. Education in Nigeria is in total mess right now. |
temitope28:Examination malpractice is getting more rampant year by year. It's too bad, i am also a teacher in secondary school but i don't really go by the idea of examination malpractice. |
Bar1941:There is a Yoruba saying that says " A star seers only sees the glimpse of the star, if he sees the full star, people would be adoring him". Which means, most spiritual people are not always correct sometimes. |
slimjohn2k5:Lol, that reason may be considered if he had stated the reason in the resignation letter in the first place. |
Love800:. Yes you can. There are top tiers school and highbrow schools in Lagos that pays such amount or even more than that. BUT the thing is : is either you get there by referral or you are very good to work your way in there. And moreso, create your CV very well and look out for schools online, most schools are now putting their vacancy online for recruitment ahead of next session. I can help you forward some vacant teaching job i see. Just reach me on 08141984297 |
Sammy5413:. There are. You can see some top tiers school or highbrow schools that pays close to that amount or even more. They are mostly in Lagos and some other big cities. The thing is most people get employed there by referral or you have to be very very good to work your way there. Believe in me, there are standard schools in Nigeria but they are only meant for the elites. |
iSense247:State government pays principals less than 150k, lol 😂 Where did you get this from? I am also a public secondary school teacher in Ogun state, and the last time i checked, the salary of principals in grade level 17 is around 350k to 400k. And for your information, there are some principals in grade level 17 incase you don't know. Sometimes, it takes connection for principal to be in Permanent secretary, that's why you see grade level 17 still in principal level. Next time, try and do your findings and know the truth before you come online and start bombarding people with false. Shalom |
Daxray07:Are you believing this guy? If so, i am sorry to say that you are a mumu. How can he be earning 5million naira per month as an S.A to governor? |
Akinksquare:There are good schools in Nigeria too where anyone's children can get good and sound education. I am not opposing the notion of him going abroad but saying he should go abroad because of good education is out of it. There are good things in Nigeria too but it's only meant for the elites. It's a good things to go abroad though. I wish him best of luck |
fakawer:. You get it bro 💯. That's how one of my ex-neighbour, a married woman was trying to get close to me immediately i moved in into my current apartment, she would be asking me some personal questions that doesn't concern her, she would be trying to talk, play and gossip with me. But me i am a kind of person that doesn't really get close to people like that, and this kind of woman is not my liking ( illiterate, married, not really beautiful, not too exposed) i was just ignoring her and she also noticed, she later left me alone. |
Mom007:And save for a rainy day which means he should be getting prepared to leave the place |
