RomanceRe: Why Are Most Men Like Babies? (Tidiness) by damiso(f): 2:17pm On Oct 27, 2008
My hubby used to be or should i say is still tidy but now just tends to be a little more laid back now that there is someonelse in the house to do chores. Also does not help that i hatre filth and clutter so tend to instinctively pick up stuff around the house. He still tries with chores at least he does the laundry and the dishes( just can stand the time frame sometimes so i end up washing it myself).I guess a tidy man will always be tidy even if he is married or not but just tend to lay back when there is someone else to do it. I still get the occassional wet towel on the bed sometimes and that makes me MAD.

Because i am on the big side and liked jewelry, some guys just deduced that i was an 'aristo' gal,my mom used to sell jewelry so i was able to buy and pay instalmentally.

You went to LASU,u must be razz and cheap. angry

You obviously do not have a future ambition but to marry a rich man because you like to dress up and look good.(really love to slash this particular one as most of them feel so daft after a 1hr conversation,as i am actually much more driven and ambitious than they are)

A-town:
If you don't want to change your name, don't get married. Abi na wetin. Women sha. Soon you'll ask the man to change his last name to your fathers.

As for me, a woman can keep her dad's name IFF the following apply
- If there are no male kids in your household
- If you were in the public eye prior to marriage

Any other reason na counterfeit.
If you don't like me enough to accept my last name, then we shouldn't be married. Last time i checked there are like 4 billion women in the world. Women outnumber men 4:1 so i can always get someone that's willing to accept my name.
Stop trying to hold on to nonsense. Thats why u have brothers. Most parents don't even want you to keep the name sef so whats the fuss.
Girls of nowadays just want to show off by keeping their parents names. Abegi, run to the guardian newspaper and announce ur change of name shap shap.
I think those two reason are really congent reasons why a man should not feel slighted if a woman wants to keep her maiden name.I am married and i changed my name does not mean i am not empowered.I guess its up to the individual to decide whatever last name they want to be addressed with, however i do not suscribe to some of the insults hurled on the women who change their surnames by some of the OP.

Are u a what o . . . Gamine. Lol

I witness one at a family get2geder @ d last p.hols. These got to d venue in a cab and started calling on d guys that invited them on phone.

Funny thing, those ones refused to ans. Lol
At d end of d day, dey had to contribute money for d cab fare. They walked into the parry wt a frown on dia face. So funny. Lol

What a dirty habit!
I have experienced that at a friend's dad burial and the guy they were calling to come pay the cab was my friend's brother(yeah it was his dad's burial).I think the habbit is so classless.I have never ever gone out without what me and my friends used to call vex money(that was in uni).I think it makes you lookcheap, if something happens or for something as little there not being change.I used to think no one would actually go out with a guy without her own money until i witnessed so many disgraceful encounters by girls with male friends and colleagues.please if you do this please stop .This gals would even carry twenty of their friends on the date. Also Naija gals stop askin Guys for credit one day after you meet them its disgraceful to us,us being the female gender

In my office in naija i was the only girl in my team and sometimes i would want to cover my eyes with shame at the way some gals carried on with cheap behaviours.Abeg all this small money really boosts ur image and makes guy respect u.I can confidently say that the only guy i ever asked for credit was my then boyfriend;the idiot did not even buy it gosh was that man stingy and the way girls used to ask every tom, emeka and kunle to buy them credit like it was oxygen used to really get on my nerves.

RomanceRe: Girls That Listen To Friends: Not The Best by damiso(f): 11:56am On Oct 21, 2008
coincidentally, as i was replying this post i got this mail from an old friend. Decided to share it.

GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE

When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend, And then I started to become a woman.

And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
God would show you the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.

Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom.

Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.

Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.

One friend will say, "Let's cry together,"
Another , "Let's fight together,"
Another , "Let's walk away together."

One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.

But whatever their assignment in your life, On whatever the occasion, On whatever the day, Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back, Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself ,
Those are your best friends.

It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it's wrapped up in several, One from 7th grade, One from high school, Several from the college years, a couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother, On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters, And on some days, your daughters.

I think this post best describes the friendship.Yea i would not take the advice of my shoe fetish friend concerning my marriage but me thinks its best for very individual to have a mind of their own to be able to manage advise about your relationship from anyone.YOU are in the relationship and YOU should always decide do what you feel is best for youand the relationship.

I have a few friends, which include my sister and mother and this people mean the world to me.I should just be matured enough to know when their advise is clouded by their love and affection for me.

One more thing some Guys are equally as guilty of this so its not just a girl thing.

Cabin is more disgusting that everything that has been listed on this thread, osisi

yuck!
Thank you for reminding of one of the things i hated the most;Cabin biscuits sad gosh how i hated the dry taste.
Also hate beans, now got a good excuse to not to eat it after i was diagonised with ulcers.Have not had it in yrs tho its one of my hubby's best foods so he cooks it himself and gives me agood excuse not to cook when he is in the mood for it. tongue

Also hated custard and tapioca with a passion, now manage custard but tapoica is still a no-no.

I guess when i become a mother il understand what she must have been feeling cos i don't really eat junk eg macdonalds,KFC etc would be a very rare treat and am sure they too might be bored with fruits and veg all the time. What my mom used to say then was that she wanted us to have a variety so we had a timetable with so many foods i hated.Remember Saturday and monday as the days i hated and sun being the best food day.Guess it goes with the territory of being a mother.

FoodWhat Foods Did You Hate As A Kid That Your Mum Forced You To Eat? by damiso(op): 12:02pm On Oct 17, 2008
The milk thread just made remeber all the foods i now hate due to my mom forcing me to eat it.

Ogi(pap) and akara;that was sat morn breakfast and if u did not eat it no breakfast, gosh how i hated sat mornings.

Lafun(its the white form of amala);YUK hate it till, today you can never see it in my house.

Boiled Sweet and irish potato;can stand the irish one a lil now but only as fries but due to my new eating healthy regimen i can manage it baked.

Boiled Eggs;till today egg is one my least favourite foods the smell makes me feel nauseous and we had boiled eggs one way or the other at least 3 times a week and na by force u must chop am.agreed it was for my own good and health but it just made me dislike it.Till today rarely eat eggs,if my hubby does'nt it it can lie there for months.

Powdered milk;hate this as well guess it was the aparthied behind it.

There are some more but cant remember will get back with them.So what are the foods you hated as a kid that ur mom made u eat?
FoodRe: Which Milk Do You Prefer? by damiso(f): 11:50am On Oct 17, 2008

TravelRe: Nigerian Graduates In The Diaspora Should Stay Put. by damiso(f): 10:26am On Oct 17, 2008
So what should happen when their right to legal residency ie student visa expires?they should stay put and become illegal aliens and thus be underemployed? You also have to understand that especially for the post graduaduate category, there's aclause saying they must return home after their studies except they get employemnt and the co applies for a work permit.Anyway sha i feel your pain, its really not a fair playing ground but i guess it falls on you to prove your mettle.I went to a state university in nigeria and despite all the drama around state universities was able to secure employment as well as almost all my friends. So just try to up your game as well as pray for the favour of the Lord and you will excel. At least you have nigerian graduates still being the majority of our organised labour force.

even though i is ridiculous, i guess the blame should be put both on the federal a state govts footsteps. why u may ask
1) recent developments saw us witness the auctioning of the ikoyi GRA properties at ridiculous rates in multiples of hundreds of millions, lets not forget the various ex- and present govt officials that bidded and were allocated. the forceful ejection of the tenants in 1004 and bar beach towers and the sale of the old federal secretariat etc at ridiculous rates to private organisations and individuals.
2) these private investors have pulled down most of those colonial structured houses to give way for high rise luxurious apartments which are usually leased out at ridiculous dollar rates and this is now the present norm, u could check the castle property magazine to confirm.
3) the investors because of the huge amount invested would want quick returns as the bank loan rates could also affect their investments as against property investment being a long term thing. The properties offer services such as constant electricity supply backed up by generators, telephony services etc of which they charge ridiculous service charge, the sad thing is this has began to spread to parts of the mainland.

My believe again is every city has got its elite residential places that are for the stinkily wealthy, banana island is one of such, one should pay a visit to the place
#

I personally do not want to visit the place cos the above mentionesd services are things every one and i mean even poor people should be entitled to.So you have to be stinkingly rich to get constant power supply?

And i do know that there are elite residential areas but even in more developed countries with a higher GDP and better standard of living, there are no 8 milllion dollar residential lands.land so what will constructed on it 20million dollar house?i thinks it obscene in the face of the standard of living of a poor nigerian.
