Moi moi done for the week. Bank holiday dey give person time o ![]() Naijababe I tried your egg method it was really nice
|
Chillisauce:Me ke ? babe 3 is in another category o.I still fall o esp at the weekends(still ate meat pie on Saturday ) but I am getting so used to eating healthy that it's becoming second nature. Even my pikins don dey catch the bug. They have started eating brown bread without cajoling and on Saturday they ate oat/whole wheat pancakes with no moaning
|
thelish:Loool believe me sef don talk that before but you gradually get used to it. I drink alot of water and green tea (about 4 cups a day) so that fills me up |
freecocoa:Those their eyes na die. That's the same way I side eye people who have funny looking contact lenses that make their eyes look 'catty' ![]() |
Kimoni:don't even get me started on the parties, dat na how all the people you have never met in your life will evict you from your own room and bed. E go remain small sef make person go sleep for toilet for your won house o . I kinda guess that's the reason why I could be very tolerant of people because I had been having my privacy invaded by Zillions of people from a very young age. Both my parents were kinda olori ebis in one form or the other so our house was like extended family head quarters. So party time was grrrrrrrr. ![]() It was reverse for my sister sha cos it made her not stand extended family and na beg we dey beg her for her wedding preparations on the extended family side LOL ![]() I soo loooove my privacy these days sha. In a way I am happy I only get to wade into the drama from afar. ![]() |
Kimoni:Yes naa My parents (or more my mum) had this annoying habit of still throwing you deep in the trenches even while hiring paid help to get things done. She was 'training' me ni o . There will be Alase/olopo there but you will still be asked to go and help them wash meat, take them to grind pepper, wash cooler etc. Then you will distribute food to every house in the area. If only I knew that was burning calories at the time Then go and bring this go and bring that. The only good part of the distributing food was the 'kickbacks' you would get from some generous neighbours ![]() And this was for days .1st day of Ileya was at Lagos Island at my grandparents (that was a bit better) then second day we killed our own Rams. Then 3rd day ijebu phew. |
*sighs* Ileya To think I used to dread Ileya cos of all the hard work as 1st born. after buying you lace that you will take off after EId you will just be running errands like someone on steroids Now I kinda miss it ![]() |
Guilty as charged but I won't say I hate them just find them unnerving.their eyes creep me out.also very arrogant creatures den go just dey look you from far ![]() I can still manage 1 or 2 at a time but will side eye anyone who keeps more than 2/3 ok 4 cats MAX and this is not just Nigerians even oyinbos call people who have loads of cats 'strange'. |
naijababe:Yaay...welcome back You 3x a week me once a week but funny enough I still work out 4 to 5 times a week. Just got bored with JM so do different routines every day plus jogging/running. |
Well done and God bless TEHN |
EfemenaXY: ![]() Here is my lunch all prepped for work tomorrow so I don't catch una bug and order Big Mac ![]()
|
EfemenaXY:I am bush woman I know LOL but is blow torched cooked like this? Raw or semi raw food flesh( meat and fish) I just cant deal |
Chillis:Chillis it's ok.Life is too short jare and everyday is a new one to cherish. I am just still a bit in shock over moca's news. Yes you can have quinoa like rice but it needs less cooking. You can also toss in salads, mix with pulses eg kidney beans it's quite versatile. |
Oh my Gosh Moca Don't even know what to say again. I am just shaking It is well with you and your family.. Only God can comfort you at this time May his beautiful innocent soul rest in peace |
bellong:The chief priest has spoken Kimoni respond accordingly.Even though I thought her penance should have been greater sha the whole lion itself should have sufficed.you did ojoro cos she is your apprentice. |
babygirlfl:Love your humility. Just thought to say that. Have a blessed night. |
moca:He got the playing from you joor my daughter can be over dramatic when it comes to withstanding pain or taking medication and it annoys me to no end I could feel tomiwas mum's pain about the eye drops because giving my daughter medication grrrrr or let her have one small injury that you want to clean, me and hubby have to pin her down. She will be screaming like you are doing something bad.Even to take out her hair 'mummy it hurts' ![]() One day I remembered that they had to call the security guards at the hospital to restrain me whenever I wanted to get injected as a child God knows how many malaria that did not go cos I used to hide medication under my tongue to later spit out I just said haa this is me karma is real I now know how my mum used to feel back then though I think she is worse than i was sha ![]() So I can feel you cococandy I still hate using medication.i am meant to be on iron tablets cos am anaemic but I never take them . I eat a lot of greens these days so not that bad. Hubby always has to remind me to take my medication. If you can get the coated type of the medication that you are on they are a bit easier to swallow.ndo,pele. |
tearoses:I know that one ![]() Iya ni wura= Mother is gold |
edwife:Check the email you registered with..They would normally send an email if the transaction went through. |
Kimoni:You just have to let them know from lil that mummy has a face that shows she is not happy. That is the face you put on when telling off and it's from little you give to them.my daughter will say 'mummy you have switched to your not happy face ' ![]() And my happy face and not happy face can switch in two seconds. So they know to look for it. But e no dey work all the time o my daughter is naturally a sensitive child.that my son e No send you sometimes sef he won't look at your face ![]() |
Idowuogbo:You need that look and Yoruba or 2nd language skills when those children want to start disgracing themselves not you esp when you are outside ![]() I was picking up my daughter one day at school and her teacher called me aside to report her ,I just looked at her ni o and she started crying I was not even going go punish her sef ![]() |
Kimoni:Which award? My husband and siblings won't know this person you are talking about o ![]() I just generally choose my battles in life and decided earlier on that NL is not going to be one of those battle grounds. Partly because I don't really know who it is I am expending the energy on. I also realise that we can't all have the same views on all things. I learn stuff from NL(even though hubby says like what ) and have even met a few people here who I hugely respect. |
Idowuogbo:You don't wanna know ![]() My daughter used to cry at ordinary me looking at her sef so I don dey try chill small small. That na place I dey save my energy for ![]() |
Kimoni:It's not omi suuru o it's omi laziness I just can't be bothered. Besides I don't know how to string together abuses never had the ability. Even from a young age the best I could always string together was 'silence is the best answer for a Fool'. Besides I just can't be bothered to fight someone I don't know. All the energy it takes to log on,insult ,quote their insult insult my own back quote etc I no get. NL for me is a leisure/interactive thing and I just can't let it bring negativity and toxicity into my life. But seriously Kimoni the curses and family insults were not cool. abeg pls don't let's see that side again. |
Sagamite spot on analysis of the UK system especially about the privileged aristocrats trying to hoard knowledge so they can hold on to power. Mindfulness I also like your post on how more enlightened parents subtly encourage their children to do better based on their environment , conversations etc. If you don't mind me asking mindfulness as seems you have some knowledge on this, how do you do this without seemingly being pushy? Seems pushy (or maybe push is the wrong word to use )middle class parents tend to get those academic results with their children. I know I probably would have been below average academically if my parents were not pushing me to do well.I had to have extra lessons and teachers for subjects I was struggling in and failing or passing exams in our household was like the end of the world.I remember I was ill immediately I finished my WASSCE exams. It was a bit of a pressure pot environment though so I want to strike a balance while still expecting high academic achievements. Naijababe had a similar thread where people talked about engaging children in activities that inspire creativity and logical thinking. |
Chillis:Wanted to start again but no point Ok madam. |
salsera: tearoses: Idowuogbo:I think I will just go with gold jejrly and wear gold accessories |
cococandy:Yes naa.. If I look and can't find na to nack gold shoe be That be o |
> Idowuogbo: but no be only her go wear am now. Now we have to be looking for mustard shoe all over London ![]() |
Ewuro4:Women tend to be more dramatic and that's just cos we talk more and are more expressive of emotions. I find men sometimes hold deeper grudges than we do. |
I salsera: ![]() Make I no lie sha my wedding colour was burnt orange same way I said ewo no mustard is how my mum said ewo ni burnt orange ![]() |
