They have started eating brown bread without cajoling and on Saturday they ate oat/whole wheat pancakes with no moaning shocked I thought I would have to chuck in the bin and make a new batch with white flour.

grin grin grin oh Damiso, you remind me so much of my growing up. I am feel everything you are saying jare. Parties in my house was mixed feelings for me. Asides the errands, the cleaning up was just too tedious cry the only compensation was the eran dindin that never seem to finish. grin
don't even get me started on the parties, dat na how all the people you have never met in your life will evict you from your own room and bed. E go remain small sef make person go sleep for toilet angry angry for your won house o . I kinda guess that's the reason why I could be very tolerant of people because I had been having my privacy invaded by Zillions of people from a very young age. Both my parents were kinda olori ebis in one form or the other so our house was like extended family head quarters. So party time was grrrrrrrr. angry

It was reverse for my sister sha cos it made her not stand extended family grin and na beg we dey beg her for her wedding preparations on the extended family side LOL cheesy

I soo loooove my privacy these days sha. In a way I am happy I only get to wade into the drama from afar. grin

Yes naa grin

My parents (or more my mum) had this annoying habit of still throwing you deep in the trenches even while hiring paid help to get things done. She was 'training' me ni o . There will be Alase/olopo there but you will still be asked to go and help them wash meat, take them to grind pepper, wash cooler etc.

Then you will distribute food to every house in the area. If only I knew that was burning calories at the time cheesy Then go and bring this go and bring that. angryThe only good part of the distributing food was the 'kickbacks' you would get from some generous neighbours grin

And this was for days .1st day of Ileya was at Lagos Island at my grandparents (that was a bit better) then second day we killed our own Rams. Then 3rd day ijebu phew.

Yes you can have quinoa like rice but it needs less cooking. You can also toss in salads, mix with pulses eg kidney beans it's quite versatile.

I actually didn't see your roforofo fight nor have I seen any but from what I read here from people's comments here, it must have been seriously nasty.

I understand how it feels to feel insulted without having to respond. It makes one feel dump and stupid. To be at peace with yourself, God and others, one really need to feel dump and stupid.

You seriously and indeed need the "patience pill" to overlook some stuffs. When you are insulted, not responding to it doesn't mean you have no reply but you are more matured and with understanding to be dragged into a fight with no reward for the winner.

Occasionally, when I wouldn't want to be dragged into such exchanges of insult, I either stopped responding to the posts by unfollowing the thread or reply with a one word answer to stop the other party from quoting me.

PURSUE
peace with ALL men says the scripture. A servant cannot be greater than his master says Jesus. He was ridiculed and insulted yet like a lamb was dragged to the slaughter's slab. He taught us patience in the height of provocation. This is what He wants us to become.

I do ask myself many times, this I want to do, will I be happy with my son if he were the one doing if? How would Jesus have reacted and will it please God? They are restraining questions that put me in check. Not as if I don't quarrel but not with any arbitrary enemy. I can't expend energy on someone I don't know if he/she is older than my parent or younger than our last born. Time is too short to waste on an anonymous person.

I didn't see the exchanges though and don't want to see it either. Please exercise caution and do not let your "good name" be soiled. You guys should broker peace with yourselves. You never can tell, either of you may be each other's life saver in future. At least you both reside in the same country.

Now, For the concoction I prepared for Damiso, I told her to bring Lionness' raw milk to prepare it. But for your own konk case, I will need the teeth and paw of a Lion in addition to the milk for effective concoction.

I hope you guys apologise to each other and move past it. Get the messages deleted and shake hands like in football.

This I say to you, I say to all.

CC: babygirlfl

NB: why do I always miss the actions.. angry undecided

He got the playing from you joor grin my daughter can be over dramatic when it comes to withstanding pain or taking medication and it annoys me to no end angry I could feel tomiwas mum's pain about the eye drops because giving my daughter medication grrrrr or let her have one small injury that you want to clean, me and hubby have to pin her down. She will be screaming like you are doing something bad.Even to take out her hair angry 'mummy it hurts' angry

One day I remembered that they had to call the security guards at the hospital to restrain me whenever I wanted to get injected as a child embarassed cheesy God knows how many malaria that did not go cos I used to hide medication under my tongue to later spit out embarassed I just said haa this is me grin karma is real
grin I now know how my mum used to feel back then though I think she is worse than i was sha embarassed

So I can feel you cococandy I still hate using medication.i am meant to be on iron tablets cos am anaemic but I never take them . I eat a lot of greens these days so not that bad. Hubby always has to remind me to take my medication.

FamilyRe: Girls night out discussions by damiso(f): 10:35am On Aug 22, 2015
Sagamite spot on analysis of the UK system especially about the privileged aristocrats trying to hoard knowledge so they can hold on to power.

Mindfulness I also like your post on how more enlightened parents subtly encourage their children to do better based on their environment , conversations etc.

If you don't mind me asking mindfulness as seems you have some knowledge on this, how do you do this without seemingly being pushy? Seems pushy (or maybe push is the wrong word to use )middle class parents tend to get those academic results with their children. I know I probably would have been below average academically if my parents were not pushing me to do well.I had to have extra lessons and teachers for subjects I was struggling in and failing or passing exams in our household was like the end of the world.I remember I was ill immediately I finished my WASSCE exams. It was a bit of a pressure pot environment though so I want to strike a balance while still expecting high academic achievements.

Naijababe had a similar thread where people talked about engaging children in activities that inspire creativity and logical thinking.

Ewuro4:
Lol you know I will talk

On a more Serious note Dami I find this thread very two faced and hypocritical. @bold is what OP was trying to explain, maybe OP misused Hate in context but you know how Nigerians 'hate' everything. I love my female friends like kilode and owe ourselves that loyalty but truth has to be said when a discussion is open.

When a flaw is pronounced- its in majority , doesn't necessary mean other group are not guilty of same offence. E.g European folks are the most stingy but doesn't mean everyone in Europe or folks in other countries but mostly in Europe cos I know you won't abandon me at Heathrow. grin

Everyone's perception of life is shaped by different experiences . But to outrightly jump out of nowhere overbloated and call OP vindictive and the one with the problem is very very stûpid and revealed your person as well.

Do they even know her to call her such names?
Women tend to be more dramatic and that's just cos we talk more and are more expressive of emotions. I find men sometimes hold deeper grudges than we do.
