RepoMan007:You did not read it. You just commented. Why is govt unproductive? How do we make it productive? Begin by looking at the structure we have now. Then compare to 1960. There will always be govt, whether we like it or not. Doing nothing is no solution. |
RepoMan007:We need about 8 regions plus FCT: SE, SW, Lagos, Bendel, ND, Middle Belt, NE, NC, FCT. Abolish states. Only Regions and Local Councils. President, Regional Premiers and Local Council Mayors/Chairmen. Then a unicameral NASS. Salary pegged at level of University professor at most. And another 100% as allowance/bonus. With regional police and resource control. 30% of resource earnings go to the centre/FG. For the First 10 years, 5% of IGR from better off regions will be contributed into a pool of money to support the less well off regions. Call it solidarity premium. Rigging to be president and massive central corruption will reduce. |
abhosts:Lol, they don't mean it to benefit me and you or any genuine investor. To invest in 9ja from abroad is awful economically. Especially since 2015. Unless in politics. It's for those CBN allocate Forex to and sell on quickly to BDCs/Mallams. Even that will fail increasingly as the difference narrows upon flotation. Remember there are people who deal in dollars/Euros only in 9ja. They have huge reserves of Forex, and they feel good to see Forex as the only store of value. Their tenants in VI/Ikoyi/Abuja pay them in dollars. Real estate in most parts of 9ja (except highbrow areas) and the Naira are not a good store of economic value currently. Once the elite have benefitted from the chaos enough, there will be a policy summersault. Largely due to pressure from the North. Election threat things. Then back to square. |
mobileboy:But dude, you wicked o. Wike na your friend? ![]() RIP to the departed. Nobody will leave this world alive. |
saddler:Dude, let's be honest. I thought semi-final would be a huge success. Winning AFCON would have been an overachievement like we did in 2013. For their level of talent, they did great in this AFCON. Even the highly talented pool of 2000 could not do better at home. |
saddler:At least we went further than we have ever done in a decade. Bassey and entire defence was under too much pressure. Ndidi was an epic miss to SE. |
saddler:Osimhen did not look too fit. Simon should have started to run behind CIV defence like Adingra did to us. Osimhen was starved of ball. CIV played sound football and deserved their win. |
Teejay2033:Win bawo. The few times we touched the ball, we gave it away cheaply. Adingra & Max Gradel really tortured SE through the wings. I always said that losing balls too cheaply, no midfield and letting crosses in will allow Haller do magic. Haller can play rubbish 90 minutes but scores spectacular goals. That's his work in Dortmund. He does easily what Darwin Nunez of Liverpool attempts to do. |
RepoMan007:Dude, these things are analysed in 10-years cycles. In any case, don't pretend that almost 9 years of APC has not been enough to change whatever mess they claim they inherited from Jonathan's 6 years in office. You come to power to better what you campaigned to replace, not to lament. Be honest with yourself and look at inflation and Forex yearly from 2009 to May 2015 and from June 2015 to 2024. The truth shall set everyone free. No hiding place for anyone from inflation, insecurity/kidnappers/bandits. Na everybody dey hear am. |
AllBlack:Gbam! RIP to him and those who died alongside him. |
Ok |
Scholace:Dude, things can be deep in life. My dad raised my cousin from about age of 4. In fact everyone thought he was my dad's firstborn. From primary to secondary. Then my dad also joined money with other family members in late 70s to process his schooling abroad. He eventually managed to, I believe, in 1980. He got to Yankee and did his degrees. Until my dad passed on a few years ago, he once sent my dad 100 Naira around 1987. He visited Nigeria a few times, was in same town and never visited my dad. It turned out that in the 1980s, he actually sent lots of money to be given to my dad to supervise projects for him. His siblings never delivered the money and only told my dad that the guy sent some money for them (siblings) to do some project to him. My dad prayed for him. But his siblings did no project. My dad could not reach him as his siblings gave us a fake address. Letters written were returned. Unknown person. Now, perhaps until today, he may believe that my dad ate his money. Not even condolences from him when my dad died. May be he does not even know. I am not bothered about whether he gave my dad anything or not because I got abroad early too and my dad didn't lack. But to not visit my dad while in 9ja several times was bad. To NOT mourn my dad was equally bad. Life abroad is not as rosy as some believe and big men are not always as powerful (to give jobs anyhow) or buoyant (to dish out money) as people believe. Fact is I can't be sure why he behaved that way. It's most likely his siblings lied to him. People can be wicked, including siblings. |

fati2001:Amen. But don't be in a hurry about material. This world people nor too genuine like that. Who saw him last? Does he normally leave home that late without his phone? To go where? Any side chick? Any marital discord lately? Any issues at work? Make we see all these first. |
TheBillyonaire:Women dey gree? They always wan do pass demself. Will he listen to common sense as you said? Most likely not. |
Chukwuka319:Which planet chaste and decent one dey? Look deep at each lady and you will be shocked. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by having any expectation. Don't. Do your paternity test and once the kids are yours, manage it until you catch her. I am not saying this lightly. No chaste one. None. Unless no opportunity to mess about. I used to consider those folks that keep their women indoors as primitive. I know better now. |
lolexzy:She has been marrying the Al Capones of kidnapping world. Why she nor go fresh? But see am dem all look like Ethiopia people. We don't really know who is Nigerian and who's not. Despite NIN, BVN and all the nonsense. |
Resetinc:By African culture, you are married into a new family. In SW and SS, a traditional wife will call all her in-laws, boys, girls, old and young "my husband". We first need to define how we want it. To be Africans or Westerners. We must decide. @ MisterBanny The truth is, a woman only loves her kids. The hubby is the vehicle to achieve her plans and tick the married box. Remember that a woman marries the guy who seeks her out (at least the guy likes her enough to pick her), not the guy she would have liked. Yes, she can refuse but genuine and serious options are limited. So marrying a man does not mean she loves him. More men love their wives than the reverse. Doing wifely duties as custom demands is not equal to love. Hubby's family members are by and large mere background noise and nuisance to most women. To avoid, if possible. A wise lady knows that a guy loves his parents, so she treats her in-laws right to please him. That's it. |
Lol. If country was good, only few would leave. Repair country first. |
When I heard that their name is Banana Banana, I just relaxed, bought some ground nuts to watch the game. Banana and groundnut was sweet to eat. ![]() |
Emman08:You beat me to it. ![]() It depends on where you are in life. As a young successful guy, No. 2. Simple and modern. If you are a mazi, Otunba, chief, ozo title holder, oloye or some senior dude, No 1 as your main lounge to receive big people is cool. Of course have another simple lounge to play with grandkids. |
See ajekpako everywhere. That thing there na delicious snack. |
Printme:And you will lose many more potential customers for being rude. I can proudly list many Nairalanders I have patronised in various business sectors here. Good luck to you. |
Printme:If you go about insulting people you don't know, don't be surprised when you get your reward for it. You know you pretend to offer a service, to get you will be easy. A genuine businessmen has no problem answering basic questions but 419 have issues with it. Mods, Seun Osewa and co, scrutinise this boy here. When he built website for Tesla. He claims Tesla Invest website is his work sample. Before people fall victim here. If you are legit, you will have no issue proudly showing off your work. Builders here on NL show off their work from foundation to the end. Since you are typing from Yaba left, you only see mad people around you. |
Printme:Oh you built website for Tesla of Elon Musk? Or the finance business is owned by somebody else? So anybody asking for testimonial or work sample is a troll unless he gives you a job immediately? It's better to display our attitudes here openly than in more private WhatsApp chats. Wow! |
Boldtrust:One gender person says the man is greedy. So does it mean if he had limited it to one or two married women, it would be ok? To me it seems like "the guy I am cheating with might be sleeping with other married women o" kind of mentality. In her wisdom, there is no curse on the married women distributing their pvssy to any randy he-goat. Five of them o. ![]() |
crossfm:All these book economics nor dey work in 9ja because nobody follows the rules. The dude sef dey stockpile FX seriously. ![]() When has Naira ever regained value it has lost? It might regain a little temporarily but medium term is more devaluation. If you have dollars/Euro, keep your money jeje. Even if Naira becomes 900 to a dollar, still keep it and wait for just 6 months. Even dom accounts worth about 30 abi 50 billion dollars in total already dey govt eye to raid sef. |
DMerciful:And Nigerian national budget for 2024 expenditure is 27.5 trillion Naira. Even though they will use padding/appropriation to add more later, it's a paltry sum. This should be the budget of Bayelsa or Ekiti Sate. For decent quality education, healthcare, welfare system and local amenities that are well funded. Considering where we were in 1960 compared to Australia, Singapore, NZ, etc. https://www.pwc.com/ng/en/assets/pdf/nigeria-budget-highlight-2023.pdf This budget was prepared with forex of $1 = 750 Naira. We never ready o. |

JasonScoolari:Nor mind am. Others clearly did better with evidence/data to prove it but hypocrisy and bigotry won't let them admit it. Very shameless people. |
