ceejay80s:Lol oga you're speaking from both sides of the mouth. |
Ishilove:I understand that things go all topsy-turvy during a recession. I've had like three catnaps in the past three hours, although I understand this is because I'm unemployed. ![]() |
deebrain:I'm going to have to disagree with your first sentence. Most Nigerians are only just coming to terms with the idea that things could get so unbearable that one would decide to take one's life. When my younger brother had chronic depression that toyed with his mental state, my parents kept moving from church to church in my absence all to no avail till I returned and had to all but force them to take him to a psychiatrist. He's almost fully recovered now. I'm dealing with mine currently by reverting to both basketball and Nairaland I left over three years ago. It's gradually easing off. ![]() |
JustinSlayer69:Yeah, I understood the dark humour in your post. I thought you were asking forgiveness from the humourless ones who would bash you for it. You're the second person in as many days I'm gonna have to let down on Stephen King being the source of my moniker. The book is one of the few of his I haven't read either. The source of my moniker is the source (I'm almost sure) of the book title: a group within the existential school of thought also called the Theatre of the Absurd. cc Ishilove Hope I'm not disturbing your beauty sleep? |
This is no time for show off, but wallahi the predictablity of the stupidity of the president's media, no, propaganda team can never be underestimated. They will get to a point where even they will begin to believe their own lies. Joseph Goebbels na apprentice where dem dey. Smh. |
JustinSlayer69:Not an e-warrior, but graveyard humour is just one of the mind's numerous coping mechanisms to deal with inexplicable or overwhelming events. Of course you have to have an above-average sense of humour to both dish and understand it. BTW, God forgives, I don't. |
If for any reason I've gotten to the end of my rope and want to go, it definitely will be via a painless, even ecstatic route such as a barbiturate overdose or car exhaust. Drowning is quite a painful way to go. The movies make one believe that one's life flashes before one as one drowns. Horrific. But as a wise dog once said, die na die whether na car accident or cancer or suicide or murder or anything. |
Firefire:Your signature. How many Murphy's laws are there? The one I know is 'everything that can go wrong will'. Sha, I guess they are different ways of saying the same thing. |
ikp120:Used to, when I was younger, for effizy. Now I can only tolerate it if it's got some herb in it. Otherwise it's pointless, save for the fact that it aids digestion. |
ozoebuka1:Peace. |
ikp120:Wetin concern me with the car? Just addressed the shisha part. |
When all lizards lie prostrate on the ground, you can't tell which one has stomach ache. Or something along those lines. You sha get the gist. |
ikp120:Shisha doesn't intoxicate. |
Malayy:Understanding sarcasm is a gift only few Nigerians seem to possess. |
Wuzyurdaddy:So you no know say even smellos dey cap nowadays? #JustSaying |
ozoebuka1:Riddance. |
This isn't the first time and it won't be the last either, because they keep getting away with it. The military protects its own when it involves brutalising 'bloody civilians'. Bloody civilians are to soldiers what jews are to cultists. Soldiers are only punished when it involves acts of insubordination or going AWOL, almost all the time the top brass leaves the rank and file to their own devices when they aren't under any threat from them. In a saner clime, these camouflaged hoodlums would be courtmartialled and dishonorably discharged, but at best here they'd spend a few days in the stockade and maybe some reprimanding. From the op's post, it isn't clear if the lawyer is dead or not though. If dead, RIP; if undead, get well soon and sue the hell outta these mofos. |
Thinking of what to offer since I'm low on fecks to give. . . Still nothing. Lemme just say good riddance (to bad rubbish) and good luck. Das all. |
I've undergone bouts of severe depression myself, but have never summoned the courage to end it all. I don't understand what primal instinct made people like Robin Williams, Kurt Cobane, Ernest Hemingway et al take their own lives. I mean what makes a man decide that life isn't worth living anymore? And that's where the dillema comes in: bravery or cowardice? I think it takes the bravest compulsion of all to end one's own life. Christians, shey this means an automatic prepaid first class luxury ticket to hell abi? |
prosperous25:The funny thing's that I'm totally against the scheme too because I believe it has outlived it's usefulness, but the flipside is that no matter the reason he was murdered for, it sure as hell wasn't because he was a corps member. Of course I stand to be corrected though. |
Samson too. Even Jet Li upon all him levitation and running untop airborne spear no kill 3000+ people at once even if him no blind. Even Steven Seagal wey dem no dey touch for film no fit kill 300 people with donkey jawbone. Most importantly, he taught men since 2000 BC that women are the fall of any great man. Oga Suleiman, why you didn't take a clue na? |
3kay945:Psalms 23? I don't think it ends with 'for his name sake' though, if I'm right, that is. |
Unfortunately, dead men sing no songs. Him don OVB, the aftermath of conjecturing and mourning and sympathising and (maybe, if na game man) reprisal is left for the living. I just stumbled upon this, and have confirmed that this happened close to my hood. What's boggling about this is that he isn't Jos-based, so the best guess is that he paid for what he priced a long time ago, or him just form Shina Rambo for foreign territory and got played. I would have said theft, but we don't do jungle justice to thieves here to the point of lynching. Men, this 24 J Town boys don too dey carry game for head o. RIP niccuh. |
Amarabae:Very good suggestion, but unfortunately it's DOA. I'm not too sure the world is ready for another 200+ odd countries should Nigeria go 'monoethnic'. |
phreakabit: ![]() phreakabit:Hahahahahaha. Touche. Except if person dash me 5k this morning, you've made my morning. I take it you're from the oil-speaking part of Ijawland then? |
realjoker:You no suppose dey waste this your skill for NL. You suppose turn private investigator or investigative journalist. Wehdone oga Sherlock Holmes. |
bantudra:Guarantees |
If our leaders, because of the love of the icing on the national cake, keep on procastinating on a referendum to allow the incompatible components of this un-nation go their separate ways peacefully...when the gunpowder keg we are squatting on finally explodes, the resultant balkanisation would be so brutal that the USSR's would seem like a game of peekaboo. Cos if you ask me, the nation is currently being run by prayers and the sheer indefatigable willpower of the masses. The country is on the verge of chaos and e'eryone just conveniently ignores it. |
Chiboyz40:As the guy who mentioned you stated, there are indigenous Ijaws in Ondo, so go figure. |

Sunday is supposed to be a day to live a good life na.
