PeaceJoyLove:I couldn’t care less about what you use your time to do. Just know that when it comes to handling the Scriptures, even a toddler(baptized Witness under 10) amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses will deal with you using sound reasoning that all you can do is to stare in amazement because he has been trained to skillfully use the Bible as a double-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12 Concerning the highlighted, please can you make clear what the “right way” is? At least, Jesus claimed to be the only way to God(John 14:6) and he said that his followers would have a spiritual family. Mark 10:29-30 His disciples proved his words correct after Jesus’ death and resurrection because they were indeed a closely-knit, spiritual family(Acts 4:32) so please where is that spiritual family you belong to that you can boldly call the “right way”? Let’s use God’s Word and do little crossexamination if it will stand the test of time. 2Timothy 3:16-17 |
PeaceJoyLove:Why are you losing sleep over matters concerning Jehovah’s Witnesses? As far as I’m concerned, I don’t even know you exist or remember anything about you unless when I pick up my phone, login to nairaland and see where you mentioned me. But here you are constantly bugging people minding their business. You can’t even admit that you’re impressed with the way MaxInDHouse and others like him effectively uses the Scriptures to bring out important truths pertaining to Jehovah God and true Christians. Well, it’s not magic. All of Jehovah’s Witnesses are feeding from the table of Jehovah our God which contains various spiritual delicacies(Isaiah 25:6, Revelation 22:17) that’s why we’re in a spiritually healthy condition. Matthew 5:6 Each of us has his/her own personal Bible reading schedule when we feed on God’s Word(Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Joshua 1:8.) and gradually strive to be better followers of Christ with what we’ve learnt from God’s Word. Ephesians 4:22-24 To help us cope, we petition Jehovah in prayer for holy spirit(Luke 11:13) to help us remember what we’ve studied so as to tailor what we’ve learnt to the needs of each situation we face while doing Jehovah’s will. Luke 12:11-12 |
jantman:Okay so she should go and read a thread about how you compared the existence of the god you believe in to an abstract paradigm such as time travel? Were you a fan of “The Terminator” and “Star Trek” in your youth? If yes, why are you using imaginary sci-fi concepts to explain the reality of your god? Don’t you think that’s laughable? Mind you—you were the same person who said that the name “Jehovah” did not exist in the Bible, then I pointed out Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 12:2 for you to check in your King James Bible before you started avoiding me like a plague. Now ask yourself the question from the highlighted, between you and the Witnesses, who is really denying the existence of the true God? |
Myer:Bold of you to assume the kind of person I am in real life because you’re intent on making a point. There is no “righteous” person on earth who has not at some point sinned(Ecclesiastes 7:20) because we all inherited sinned from Adam(the man you’re trying to push blame away from).(Romans 5:12) which means that his descendants are also prone to make mistakes. James 3:2 But what does God look out for before forgiveness even though someone may have committed the worst of sins? First, the sinner must be repentant and feel sorry for the wrong he has done and Jehovah will welcome him with open arms and forget his error(Psalm 86:5). Second, the sin must not be categorized under the kind that incurs death as such makes a person irredeemable. 1John 5:16-17 see also Matthew 12:31-32 Adam failed on both accounts because after he knew that he sinned, he wasn’t repentant instead he was busy trading blames(Genesis 3:12) and Jehovah specifically told him that if he ate of the tree he would return to dust. Genesis 2:17 So Mr Myer next time know how to talk to somebody instead of assuming we’re all one and the same. |
Myer:See what trying to look for inconsistences in the Bible has led you to become. Adam perfectly understood the consequences of his disobedience so if you say otherwise that is your cup of tea. After all Genesis 2:17 is there for you yet you cannot refute the scripture. And yet you cannot prove that Adam didn’t know the consequences of disobedience? Meanwhile Genesis 2:17 is there proving otherwise. Concerning the highlighted, haven’t we gone over this before? DappaD: |
Humans did not begin to exist as a result of mindless evolution and I guess you agree with that. Jehovah molded the first man and told him to recreate. Genesis 1:26-28 So since only he fully understands how the human body and mind functions(1John 3:20), he is therefore in the BEST position to decide how we should live our lives i.e. only Jehovah can give us direction(Isaiah 30:21) because those commandments are for our own benefit. Isaiah 48:17-18 So yes, whatever Jehovah decides as right and wrong is completely correct because he alone is perfect and all his ways are righteous and just. Deuteronomy 32:4 Myer:Adam had all access pass to Jehovah as in there was barrier in communication between this man formed from dust and his Creator so in one of their conversations, God told him: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”—Genesis 2:17 So Adam perfectly understood the consequences of his disobedience that he would return back to the dust from which he was formed if he disobeyed. Genesis 2:7, 3:19 Adam’s prospect of everlasting life depended on his continued obedience to every one of Jehovah’s commandments. That is why it is said that “Man does not live by bread alone(physical food) but every word that proceeds from Jehovah’s mouth(spiritual food/life-saving instructions)”—Deuteronomy 8:3 see also Matthew 4:4 Adam despised life-saving instructions from Jehovah therefore he was no longer fit to live. Genesis 3:19 My earlier response to this was: It can only be a lie if God didn’t have the power to liberate Israel without going through all that rigorous process. Even God said the reason why he kept Pharaoh alive was so he could show his power before the eyes of the nations. Exodus 9:16Well, God never hardened Pharaoh’s heart. The King James translation of Romans 9:18 renders the scripture in such a way that makes it seem that way but close look at context shows that God allowed Pharaoh to show his stubbornness so that the nations would know that Jehovah the true God was backing Israel. Romans 9:17 |
EFULEFU1:Or the question still not answered the way you want it to i.e. you do not want a Biblical response? Your gimmicks do not surprise me though. Meanwhile, Trinity is now lifeless & gradually fading away if it hasn’t already. |
Dtruthspeaker:Why not admit you’re tensed up because I closed my comment with “Choose your words wisely” and you’re scared you might fumble. Do you think I don’t have Scriptures in my arsenal ready to disprove your faulty claims? |
Go and read Revelation 4:11. Jehovah is worthy of praise, honor & glory because he created all things. We cannot bestow power on Jehovah since he is the Almighty(Genesis 17:1, Revelation 15:3), it then means that He is also worthy of the power & energy as we expend ourselves in rendering sacred service to him wholehearted & wholesouled. Matthew 22:37, Colossians 3:23 |
There he goes again. Dtruthspeaker: |
Dtruthspeaker:The Bible has up to 6 definitions of the word ‘spirit’ so if you’re quoting out of context, that’s on you. And if you must know, the Bible also compares the spirit(not breath of life this time) to the heart condition of persons. Exodus 35:21 Now make the necessary adjustments to your understanding of those Scriptures you quoted. |
Simple and direct question I asked the man above that requires either two affirmative or negative answers Yes/No instead he’s busy ranting. Perhaps someone should help him out. DappaD: |
Dtruthspeaker:I already explained what the ‘spirit’ at Ecclesiastes 12:7 means so no need for all these mumbo jumbo. The ‘dust’ is the man himself that returns to the earth at death(Genesis 3:19) the ‘spirit/breath of life’ is the activating force that Jehovah God put in the dust-formed man to bring him to life(Genesis 2:7) and that’s the same with animals. Ecclesiastes 3:20-21 But since you have your own interpretation of Ecclesiastes 12:7, let me ask you this question and I need a clear answer. Is the “spirit” in that verse actually a person and if it is a person, does the person return to God in heaven? Choose your words wisely. |
AntiChristian:There have always been Jehovah’s Witnesses since the dawn of mankind and even prior to that. The righteous man Abel was the first man called a faithful witness of Jehovah and many other faithful ones after him. Hebrews 11:4-12:1 Heck, even Jesus himself is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses because Revelation 1:5, 3:14 describe him as the “Faithful and True Witness” and he really lived up to it while he was on earth(John 18:37) when he witnessed about Jehovah’s name and Kingdom(Luke 4:43, John 17:6) and urged his disciples to do likewise. Acts 1:8 So the name “Jehovah’s Witnesses” is not a new discovery. Every servant of Jehovah in the past was in effect one and we are today also. Isaiah 43:10 Why are we called Jehovah’s Witnesses? Because we have dedicated our lives to Jehovah God to do his will and we witness through speech/lifestyle/conduct to others about his name and Kingdom. Matthew 24:14 That’s the import of Isaiah 43:10-12, sir. |
Dtruthspeaker:“Man is a spirit” said no one ever. No wonder you couldn’t substantiate it with the Scriptures, it’s always human reasoning and opinions. And no, do not try to bring in 1Corinthians 2:14,15 into this as it doesn’t suit your narrative. Try this: Let God be found true, even if every man be found a liar—Romans 3:4 The Bible says that man is completely a fleshly/physical being made from the dust of the ground(Genesis 2:7) there’s no metaphysical part of the body that keeps living after death because it is established within the Scriptures that the dead are not conscious of anything at all because their thoughts have perished. Psalm 146:4, Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 The ‘spirit’ in humans simply means the “breath of life” or “life-force” which activates us and makes us conscious beings. Genesis 2:7, Ecclesiastes 12:7, James 2:26a |
AntiChristian:What many people fail to understand is that the Pharisees, Sadducees and Jesus all made use of the Law of Moses and the latter person even applied several Hebrew scriptures to himself as the Messiah. Now somebody might call Jesus a lunatic for interpreting the Scriptures in his favour of being the Messiah as he was just a carpenter from a poor background. Mark 3:21, 6:3-4 The Pharisees and Sadducees had interpreted the Law of Moses and the Prophets their own way and so they thought the Messiah would come and release them from under the yoke of the Romans that’s why the Jews were eager to make him king of Israel. John 6:15 But Jesus himself interpreted the Scriptures that he was indeed the foretold Messiah who would give his life as a ransom(Daniel 9:26, Matthew 20:28) who would proclaim peace and justice to the nations(Isaiah 42:1, Matthew 12:15-18)but the time for his kingly rule was still in the far future(Luke 19:12) and that it wouldn’t be of an earthly origin. John 18:36 As far as we are concerned that was Jesus’ interpretation but what really made him stand out from the rest of the other religious leaders who also interpreted the Law the way it suited them? Jesus said that “wisdom is vindicated by her children/works”(Matthew 11:19, Luke 7:35) meaning that only his interpretation which was guided by God’s holy spirit bore the right kind of fruit. Matthew 7:16-18 |
Nephilim:Quite a number of inconsistencies in your post but I’ll address just the words in bold. The promise of a new world without death, sickness, pain(Revelation 21:4) was and is given to fleshly humans & NOT spirit beings as Revelation 21:3 points out. Revelation 21:3-4 3.‘And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. 4. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more--or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.” — New English Translation Last time I checked, “human beings” were flesh and blood creatures (Genesis 5:2. Leviticus 17:11) who have been given the earth as their home of inhabitance. Psalm 115:16, Isaiah 45:18 P.S. The “new earth” does not imply that this current earth will be destroyed because Jehovah God has already said that the earth will never be removed from its place and it will last for all eternity. Genesis 8:21, Psalm 104:5, Ecclesiastes 1:4 |
AntiChristian:For starters, Jesus never opened his mouth to give his followers any name as a group. It was not until more than 10years after Jesus’ death and resurrection that his followers began answering the name “Christian” and doing so by divine providence, that is the name was God-given—Acts 11:26 Jesus himself also foretold that false prophets/teachers would arise to rubbish the good name of his followers by also calling themselves “Christians” (Matthew 13:24-30) and that was evident right from the 2nd century onwards when pagans paraded as Christians and brought great disrepute to that name so in order for the confusion to stop, Jehovah the true God first separated his own people from those claiming Christians but proving false to its power by giving his people another name in place of the former one(Isaiah 65:15) that is, Jehovah’s Witnesses. Isaiah 43:10 Nevertheless, Jehovah’s Witnesses are very much Christians since they follow the example and teachings of Jesus Christ. Matthew 16:24, 1Peter 2:21 Concerning the bolded, you might want to consider the facts before hurrying to conclusion otherwise you’ll just prove that you’ve joined the bandwagon of misinformed people who are ready to do or say horrible things about those who keep exposing their lies/folly. The link below highlights the reasons why Jehovah’s Witnesses are NOT a cult as it does not fit into the descriptions of a cult in any way. https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/are-jehovahs-witnesses-a-cult/ |
AntiChristian:What seems to be the confusion? |
Osebanjo:The thief at the side of Jesus is amongst the unrighteous who will be resurrected in the future here on earth. Acts 24:15 Being part of the Kingdom is just like being part of the ruling class/government and that’s what Jesus promised to his disciples(Matthew 19:28, Luke 22:28-30) but NOT to the thief at Jesus’ side because he was never born from water and spirit(John 3:3-6) to be amongst those who will rule from heaven as God’s spirit-begotten sons(Romans 8:14-17, 2Timothy 2:12) but as was earlier stated in Acts 24:15, he will be amongst the millions who will be resurrected to be one of Christ’s subjects on a Paradise earth. Isaiah 26:19 |
Zechariah 9:9,10 “9. Everyone in Jerusalem, celebrate and shout! Your king has won a victory, and he is coming to you. He is humble and rides on a donkey; he comes on the colt of a donkey. 10. I, the LORD, will take away war chariots and horses from Israel and Jerusalem. Bows that were made for battle will be broken. I will bring peace to nations, and your king will rule from sea to sea. His kingdom will reach from the Euphrates River across the earth.”—Contemporary English Version “9. Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion. Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem. Look! Your king is coming to you. He is righteous, bringing salvation, Humble and riding on a donkey, On a colt, the foal of a female donkey. 10. I will take away the war chariot from Eʹphra·im And the horse from Jerusalem. The battle bow will be taken away. And he will proclaim peace to the nations; His rulership will be from sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth.”—New World Translation Verse 9 of the aforementioned Scripture finds its first fulfillment with Jesus Christ when he rode on the donkey just some days before his death in Jerusalem. Matthew 21:4, John 12:12-15 But that is not all. Verse 10 goes on to describe the activities of Jesus Christ as Jehovah’s appointed King(Luke 1:31-33) and the latter part of verse 10 says that Christ’s rulership/kingdom would be extended to the “ends of the earth” which means that there would be human subjects here on earth(Compare Psalm 72:8.) after the final war Armageddon, that is. Revelation 16:14-16, 19:11-21 So how is it that most people say all those following Jesus have automatic ticket to heaven when this verse shows that Christ would have subjects on earth after God’s Kingdom takes over the earth? Daniel 2:35,44 |
Truly remarkable I tell you how Jehovah enabled his people to make use of world‘s technologies to continue meeting together to remain spiritually strong(Hebrews 10:24-25) so Jehovah’s promise to us that we’ll drink the milk of the nations has not gone unfulfilled since then. Isaiah 60:16 Jehovah’s Witnesses continue to share comfort and hope from the Scriptures(Romans 15:4) through their preaching and teaching work in the difficult and unfavorable times we have found ourselves in. 2Timothy 4:2 |
Myer:Do you think Adam wouldn’t know the consequence of his disobedience after God told him clearly that if he ate of the tree, he would die? Genesis 2:17 If Adam didn’t know the consequences of disobedience, why is blame heaped on his head that he brought sin and death into the world? Romans 5:12 2. Since Adam could die if uprooted it means he was never created immortal. Which justifies why God created the tree of life.Adam was never created immortal. As at that point in time, only God was/is immortal(Habakkuk 1:12)so none of the angels are immortal even though they do not wear out and die like humans that’s why Satan and his demons are subject to destruction. Matthew 25:46, Romans 16:20 There’s a big difference between immortality(deathlessness/indestructibility) and living forever as a perfect creature. Adam had the prospect of living forever had it been he kept taking in instruction from God but he was never immortal that’s why he could return to nonexistence. Genesis 3:19 It can only be a lie if God didn’t have the power to liberate Israel without going through all that rigorous process. Even God said the reason why he kept Pharaoh alive was so he could show his power before the eyes of the nations(Exodus 9:16) so God did not need to bargain with Pharaoh, the reason for all that was to see whether he would oblige but he only continued to harden his heart(Psalm 105:25) so if God chose to eliminate him in an instant nothing stops him(Job 34:14,15) but he chose to go through diplomatic process first by tolerating Pharaoh. Romans 9:22 |
Myer:Adam had always been able to distinguish good from bad. The tree was simply there as a sign of authority over Adam i.e. God was to be the only person to set standards for mankind. Well, Adam and Eve actually died that day from God’s standpoint because they didn’t last up to a millennia—which is a day in God’s eyes(Psalm 90:4, 2Peter 3:8.) From a human standpoint, look at it this way, if you cut off a branch from its source of life(tree), does it instantly disappear or continually wither until it completely fades away into nonexistence? That’s what happened with Adam and Eve. They became alienated from God the day they decided eat of the tree and so they continually to wither away until they returned back to the dust of the earth as God had said would happen. Genesis 3:19 As for Pharaoh’s case, God didn’t need ask him to do anything. The purpose for extending the plagues was so the news could spread throughout the region that the true God was backing Israel. Joshua 2:8-11 In the case of Ahab, he himself wanted to be deceived that’s why he called in several false prophets who began to tell him what he wanted to hear but Micaiah the only true prophet amongst them even gave him expo about what was truly going on yet he decided to believe the lie he was told by the false prophets and he paid dearly with life. 1Kings 22:37 Contrary to what you said, Jesus didn’t say observing the Law meant one was self-righteous. Those Pharisees were only cherrypicking from the Law of Moses & merging it with their man-made tradition and then using that to establish their own form of righteousness which was contrary to what God had instituted(Matthew 15:3-9) so rather than seek the righteousness of God, they sought to establish theirs. Romans 10:1-3 Besides, no man can fully be called “righteous” on his own merit because those whom God called “righteous” simply put faith in God irrespective of works(Romans 4:3) but that doesn’t mean works aren’t necessary. It is as important as the breath of life is to the human body, so to keep one’s faith alive, it needs to be accompanied by works(James 2:26) otherwise how else would we know the difference between those doing God’s will and those disguising as Satan’s agents? James 2:19 How did Abraham lie exactly when Sarah was truly his half sister? Genesis 20:12 Also, didn’t God censure David for the gruesome action that he took on his own initiative?(2Samuel 11:7-15) and didn’t David prove to be repentant? 2Samuel 11:3 So what’s the fuss about? You know what’s funny? How you claim to have been “rummaging” the Bible and yet you still try to see the Bible through the lens of unscriptural ideas such as this omniscient and omnipresent hogwash. Let me ask you this, you train up your son in the best possible way you can—provide him education, opportunities to excel in life, a starting point(perhaps a land or existing business)—and your son went ahead to abandon all those goodies to become an armed robber. Please are you the one at fault for how your son turned out even though you well know your son has the willpower to decide what he wants? Similarly, Adam&Eve had the willpower to choose whether they would remain loyal to God or not and God provides them with several goodies—a home, a spouse, satisfying work, prospect of living forever—so how people manage to turn this on its head claiming that God is at fault for their actions baffles me at times because Adam and Eve were living in perfect conditions before they turned their back on God. Genesis 3:1-5 Concerning Samson, since it wasn’t stated explicitly why God didn’t intervene, we cannot know for sure but study of Job’s account helps us see that Samson’s own suffering was not caused by God and that Samson could at that point when he was blind and weak, be like Job who despite facing trials kept his integrity which will then prove Satan’s claim against humans to be a lie. Job 2:4,5; Proverbs 27:11 John the Baptist had an assignment to do and that was to prepare the way for the Messiah. Luke 3:3-6 He wasn’t sent to meddle into matters that didn’t concern him(1Thessalonians 4:11) however he is still amongst the long line of prophets who will be resurrected back to life on earth when the time is due. Isaiah 26:19, Acts 24:15 The truth is that God’s standards do not change or alter. Malachi 3:6, James 1:17 When talking about the Law, Jesus said he came to lighten our burden for us(Matthew 11:28-30) and then proposed that the entire Law of Moses was hinged on two important Laws—the love of God and love of neighbour. Mark 12:30 Jesus’ followers are still guided by the “law of the Christ”(Galatians 6:2) but this is not a long written list containing many laws but the same principles that guided the documentation of the Mosaic Law which Jesus taught his followers especially on the Sermon on the Mount and other instances. Matthew 5-7, John 13:35 This is where you completely missed the point. Righteousness simply means adhering to God’s own standard of right and wrong. Romans 1:17 Human beings have tried setting their own standards for more than 6 millennia now but what has been the outcome? Ecclesiastes 8:9 Does it not rather prove that humans need a higher Being, God to be the one to set the standards of good and bad since it is not in human nature to that without consequences? Jeremiah 10:23 It only takes one who is humble to accept God’s standards anyway so even if most people agree or not, mankind on its own without God’s guidance is just one blind man leading another blind man to their own misery. Matthew 15:14 |
Interesting thread. Following. |
MaxInDHouse:Lovely experience my brother and I’m glad it shaped your own decision to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I wish people can be more honest with themselves by comparing the life of Jesus while he was on earth and the lives of these “men of God” which they so venerate. When even amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses, those who take the lead amongst us are the first to pick up broom and dustpan to clean inside the Kingdom Hall after meetings and the same ones who will pick cutlass/rake/lawnmower to level the grass in the compound during minor/major cleaning days. All of these in imitation of Jesus who performed a servant’s duty and asked his disciples to do the same(John 13:1-15) because the one who wants to take the lead must first serve(Luke 22:26,27) which is part of the law of the Christ. Galatians 6:2 So how many of these GO’s today can ever go to such lengths as to performing menial duties before everyone? Or do they not rather like to be seen as Gods before others and like being called high-sounding titles? Matthew 23:6,7 My brother whosoever has ears to listen, let him listen and pay close attention to the Scriptures. Mark 4:23,24 |
MaxInDHouse:My brother I saw how he was struggling to refute this point about demons replicating signs and wonders for many to be deceived. Okay so let’s assume Paul did not know what he was saying at 2Thessalonians 2:9, can we also say Jesus did not know what he was saying when he said: “for false Christs and false prophets will arise and will perform great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”—Matthew 24:24 compare Matthew 7:21-23 This which further buttress the point that the mysterious Babylon the Great represents the world empire of false religion since many have been deceived by her spiritistic practices. Revelation 18:23 |
MaxInDHouse:Even Jesus at times did not need to be present in order for his miracles to take effect(Luke 7:1-10) so I don’t see the excuse why the so-called daddies are showing their incompetence now that their family and followers need them during this pandemic. |
PeaceJoyLove:For your information, that’s what all JWs say to one another regardless of how long he’s been one. Only Jesus is our oga, the rest of us are merely fellow slaves & brothers(Matthew 23:8-12) even those feeding us spiritually are also “slaves” (Matthew 25:45-47) so unlike your GO, those taking the lead amongst us do not lord it over us(1Peter 5:1-3) that’s why no JW will come and boast about the responsibilities he has in the congregation even though he may have been serving for decades and in the public he will be just like every other person because each of us has a sound mind and none of us will think of ourselves than what is necessary. Romans 12:3 |
PeaceJoyLove:I said why do you think nobody brought it up all this while until you started claiming that your GO has all the power? When you start talking nonsense before us that’s when we’ll bring your dirty linens outside for all to see. Empty words mixed with excuses as usual. Nobody is saying that your GO should go to cemetery and start resurrecting people. Just raising his own son(who is also a pastor) from the dead is so hard for him to do but he can call down fire from heaven, right? I can hear you loud and clear, sir/ma. |
PeaceJoyLove:Surely he can call down fire from heaven like Elijah did but can he resurrect the dead as Elijah did? Why do you think that no JW on this thread has used the current issue regarding the death of your GO’s son against him despite all the miracles he claims to perform? Or did your GO suddenly become powerless in the face of death? Well it’s because we are not insensitive to human feelings so we wouldn’t hit someone below the belt like that in order to make a point but the facts still remain so please stop brandishing your GO before any of us here because really none of us care how you see him, you’re just making a mockery of yourself and him in case you don’t know. When the Witnesses keep shouting that the miraculous gifts of holy spirit—healing/tongues/powerful works—all ceased in the first century(1Corinthians 13:8.) and that demons can replicate similar signs and wonders which has no other use but for the purpose of deception(2Thessalonians 2:9) your kind will quickly begin to call us names yet COVID-19 came, has killed millions since last year and also proved that all your GO’s including the one you’re worshiping are FAKE. |
OP, I strongly disagree with you on a number of points. The reverse is actually the case here because being rich can fuel one’s pride if he’s not careful(Luke 12:15-21) and also inordinate attachment to material things can make one to even lose out on the most precious gift there is, which is everlasting life under God’s Kingdom. Matthew 19:21-24 Jesus and his disciples were from poor and humble backgrounds. Jesus himself being a trained carpenter(Mark 6:3) and his disciples some of which were fishermen. John 21:3 Jesus didn’t even have a place he could call home(Matthew 8:20) because he was more concerned about the assignment he was given(John 4:34) that he didn’t seek to please himself first. Romans 15:3 And yet no man measures up to Jesus in terms of righteousness(Hebrews 7:26, 1Peter 2:22) thereby your earlier point is invalid because persons who may not be doing well financially can still follow in Jesus’ footstep(1Peter 2:21) that’s why Jesus urged all his followers in the popular Sermon on the Mount to simplify their lifestyles now(Matthew 6:19-33) since the problems faced in this current world are only temporary(2Corinthians 4:18) but they are sure to have a bright future under the rule of God’s Kingdom in paradaisical conditions here on earth. Revelation 21:4 So basically the keyword here is “contentment”. One can have all the money yet he’s not content and also one can have little means of livelihood and yet still be happy and content with what he/she has. Hebrews 13:5 |

He serves the God of Elijah. You dare Him, He rains fire.
