HealthRe: Sleeping Paralysis: Share Your Experience by DarryOsh(m): 9:35am On Sep 12, 2012
One thing i av learned from this thread is that everyone believes that the name of Jesus can save. Enen the bible says the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are saved
HealthRe: Sleeping Paralysis: Share Your Experience by DarryOsh(m): 9:30am On Sep 12, 2012
Oh my good God! So this thing even has a medical term. The first time it happened to me i freaked out. I didnt sleep alone for the next couple of days n was so scared dat it was an attack especially since my dat had recently died quite mysteriously.
So its just a normal stuff. U guys dont know how happy i am to know im not alone. I still experience it sometimes. I wud struggle to shout JESUS! Sometimes i just strugle to move n it goes. Sleeping paralysis.....hhhhmmmmm ignorance is indeed a bad thing. I guess i'll do more reseach on it
at least when next im takin stock of what i av gained from nairaland i av something to tick and not all dose recurrent tonto dike, cosy and silly gari stories.
Onee mor thing though i have always known dat evn if it was a demon it could only b an attemp. He who watches me never sleeps nor slumbers......sleeping paralysis. Thanks@ op

EducationWhich Of Your Primary School Teachers Do You Still Remember And Why? by DarryOsh(op):
Today i was just goin down memory lane and it struck me dat i stil remember some details about primary school, even nursery. I particularly remember one day in primary one wen mrs awodiran flogged d soles of my feet for failing to wear socks, i also remember dat mr aremo and miss ....i cant remember her name(one igbo name dat is difficult to pronounce) seemed to flirt wit each other and dey prolly think we wudnt notice cos we were in pry 5 bt we used to gossip about it.
so which of ur pry sch teachers would you always remember and why or wat do u remember from early childhood which surprises, given dat u were so young
CelebritiesRe: Kenny St-Brown Complains About Wande-Coal's 'Go-Low' Video by DarryOsh(m): 11:20pm On Aug 29, 2012
I find it shocking dat people wud just leave d issue @ hand n begin to talk bout somethin else. The issue on ground is nudity in naija music videos not kenny st browm's career
nudity aint a good thing. Lets adress dat.......and stop talking about d colour of ksb's eyes.....blah blah yada yada
FamilyRe: Married Women Using Their Father's Name As Middle Name by DarryOsh(m): 9:29pm On Aug 25, 2012
tendercharles: I believe the husband should be in full possession of the woman after wedding but she, still having to use her father name creates a notion that she still 'partly' belongs to her father. I can't allow my wife to retain father's name after our wedding oo. What do you guys think?
well i find it extremely ANNOYING dat u think women can be owned by anybody, whether their husband or their father. I hav sisters n one day wil av daughter(s). Any man seekin for a woman to posess had better not come close to them. A wife is not a phone u buy and brandish d receipt. Personally im indifferent about d issue bt i totally understand those who mind.
We av to agree dat some women who made names b4 marriage cant do anythin bout it. In such a case d name becomes sort of a brand. Imagine celine dion became celine brown.lol
LiteratureRe: I Need Help With My Writing by DarryOsh(op): 10:27pm On Aug 22, 2012
masterpiecer: you sound really enthusiastic about writing, the truth is, nothing good comes easy, work hard on urself, do not be in a hurry over your ambition as a writer, try to get a mentor and read lots of books, gradually your style will come out from your inside. Try writing short stories with two to three sequels, later you could plan out a story line, brood over it and start adding things up gradually. i hope this helps. best of luck.
i think u r right. I guess i'm trying to move too fast. I tink i would work on short stories for now. Seriosly i have never really thought of short stories. Thnks

They have a solid training program for writers. One of the best on the net.
I post articles there and have benefited immensely from the training that they offer for free.
Courtesy of the training, i write much better now with confidence and can proofread and edit as well.
Proofreading and editing is a goldmine in Nigeria and now one of my income streams.
EzineArticles.com trained me for free. I read Business Administration and Finance at Bachelors and Masters Levels.
I do not have anything close to a degree in English or Mass Communication yet I am making a living in writing, proofreading and editing.
However, writing is my natural gift and passion.

LiteratureI Need Help With My Writing by DarryOsh(op): 8:48pm On Aug 19, 2012
Hi, im am a writer, 20 years old and i really, really love to write. I love fiction and i love to create fiction. I have had people tell me i am a great story-teller. But i have a little problem: when i start a book i just get stuck. I have started a number of books now and have dumped them. I just get to a point where i dont know how to proceed and the story just doesnt seem great anymore. I mean, isnt it too early in my career to have writer's block since i avnt really finished a proper book (actually i have finished two books but they are too childish)? I wish i could just have stories and my only task will be to tell them. Unfortunately the stories just dont come.
No 2: i want to learn because im sure i dont know enough about writing but i havent found an opportunity. This may sound a little strange but i am currently an undergraduate of computer science. Yeah, its strange but that is another story entirely. Whatever happens, i know there is fiction writing in my future and i want to prepare for it. The problem is that i dont know how to go about learnin. I recently sent an entry to attend the 2012 edition of Farafina Trust Creative Writing Workshop but sadly i was not selected. Really sad experience because fron the day i first heard of the workshop i thougt about it every single day.

By the way I live in Lagos. I would really appreciate any help.
Foreign AffairsRe: Women-only City Planned For Saudi Arabia by DarryOsh(m): 6:20pm On Aug 13, 2012
On the brighter side, i guess its good news. All it takes is time. Eventually they will tolerate the rights of women. A tiny step is better than nothin at all. Trust me, for extremist nations, change can only come gradually. Evn the women av bn led to bliv dat they av no rights. If u giv dem absolute frrdom now, a good number of dem wil not grab it. God help them

EducationRe: Covenant Varsity Produces 88 First Class Students by DarryOsh(m): 5:36pm On Jun 30, 2012
88 first class studs seem rather much. I am tempted to assume most of dem did nt deserve it. Bt one has to b careful, though. Cov is d best priv institution in naija. And remeba dat unlike in a public uni wen u work hrd in a priv uni, u reap d fruit of ur labour. I just did d math- about 6.3% of them had a first class!
ProgrammingRe: Pls C# Programmers Here? by DarryOsh(m): 9:25pm On Jun 28, 2012
I started learning it only 2 wks ago n its bn very great. I actually paid to learn it but u dont neccessarily av to. there are a number of books available online for free. "Deitel developer series. c# 2010 for programmers"is a very detailed(and quite bulky book) u could use.bt since u r a beginner c#3.0 : a beginner's guide by Herbert Schildt would do you a lot of goot. it is very concise. u would need microsoft visual studio for your coding environment.most importantly, u av to study and practice, practice, practice. Gud luck
