fatima04: Guys I really feel I should make a complaint officially asides Google review. I am open to suggestions sha on how to ensure this doesn't happen again or to anyone else.
So after my stressful week and all, I struggled to go to the GP before close of business yesterday and presented my BRP and passport and did not bother with proof of house residence since they have that. After several meeting inside and all na so they come reject my BRP oo that they need something that specifically says I am a permanent resident in the country, and they can't register me because of that.
I then asked for the speficic document needed, it must sha have a name and if they specify I can know what they want from me but she kept saying it can be anything just something to say I am based here, at this point I was getting irritated and frustrated and trying not to loose my cool and she said they can't register me and they assumed I was going to bring something that specifically says I am a permanent residence hence the assurance of getting it resolved quickly.
The part that got me angry was when she said they can't register me and if I really needed it I can easily go to another GP that there are others just outside the door and if not I should wait till Monday for their patient manager to decide if they can accept the BRP.
In all this banter I showed them that my son who is affected with the same issue already has his NHS number and asked why they never sent any letter to request for him to prove his resident status before deactivating him.
After all is said and done, I left there and decided to register with the next door GP who later discovered that I was not even registered with them in the first place so was never issued a number but somehow somehow my son's own was approved while mine was disapproved and he was not born here oo.
Also, I probably won't even realise this problem if I had not called them and I agree with oga lexusg430 that there incompetence even did not allow them help or offer a solution, they just acted like the usual naija "government" workers.
So I am thinking I should either send an email to UKVI stating that I was denied health registration and access because of my BRP after paying health surcharge for 3yrs advance oo and maybe NHS as well. Too much or too little
I think you just met a headstrong person....Just get your tenancy and you could have presented email bills, like your contract phone and or bank statements...I don't think its a big deal. If you now give them all this and they still refuse you, then you can ask to complain to the Practice manager. Don't go on google and write a scathing review, cos they might blacklist you and give you tough time!
fatima04: To UK veterans, pls what could be wrong. I called to book an appointment with my GP and also request for NHS number as requested by the dentist I plan to register with, only for them to tell me my records show inactive because I have transferred elsewhere which I obviously did not do and was told to call the next day for them to investigate.
I called again to be told I must have transferred my records, which is impossible because I haven't even visited any GP since I did my registration with them. Eventually the lady asked if I do have resident permit to be in the country and I need to show a proof of this before they can re-register me and I remember I submitted all this before.
It's even so annoying because I don't really have the time to go there and this will affect my dentist appt. And apparently it affected my sons documents too after he took all his shots with them o.
GP service is supposed to be free irrespective of immigration status, as well as A&E, except the managers at the GP just want to give you hard time
fatima04: So one silly voice spoilt my day and decided to rear it's ugly head after 45mins of getting to work, and that was the voice of " did I switch the gas cooker off". I was 70% sure I turned it off but just couldn't shake the voice.
The annoying part I wanted to avoid was taking a cab as tram/bus will take me like an hr so I decided to call my electricity provider emergency services asking them to switch it off while I was at work. The guy was helpful but kept sounding like "just ask your boss to release you now" and also the what if something bad happens and I could have avoided it with 30 pound
Eventually, rushed home met the emergency guy waiting for me and of course the cooker was off, I was so pissed ehn and I had to confirm if I was going to be charged for the emergency visit and the guy said its free, I was quite happy with that but mad about the money had to pay for the fro journey, e still they pepper me for body.
Killingmesoftly: Good day house, ps I will like to get some explanations on this issue about a friend of mine waiting for her hubby to fill for her stay from Nigeria.
She said the hubby came to the uk as an EU spouse, the hubby was married in Germany and later the he persuaded the white lady he married to bring him to the uk, that he prefers the UK to enable him further his studies, which the white lady did, dat was in jan 2011 they came to uk. The white lady did all the immigration runnings and he got a five years stay, which he can still renew. So later in 2012 they divorced amicable bc of some circumstances , without no grudges, and the guy stayed alone. And in 2017 he applied for his permanent resident but was not given. The reason given is that he should provide a proof that the ex-wife was working in the UK bf divorce. But the problem is that he has losted contact with the lady and when contacted on Facebook, she has refused to respond . The lady av left UK. So the lawyer told him that when he is feel to apply on his own is in two years time. Which is ending of 2019. Ps house is this true? My friend has been confused and she really need to join her hubby, she is tired of staying alone here in Nigeria.
More so her husband is a surpport worker and works with diff agencies here in London. I will like to ask when he gets the permanent resident can the hubby apply for her with agency pay slips or will he need to get a full time job for this application? The man says he makes more than £18,600 in a year bc the agency pays him more. Ps any advice on this, should he switch to permanent job when he gets his permanent resident and want to fill for his spouse?

sutelk: I don come. Thank God for a safe trip. Straight to business no time to count bridge. But shebi una say na summer be this, Omo I want to freeze oh. How winter go come be. This is to thank you all that guided me in one way or the other through your post in reply to my many "learner questions" and your replies to the questions of others. Counting on your guidance as I begin this new phase of my live. God save the Queen, abi na bless the queen, all join. Make I go find that winter jacket.
All these people saying she's not fine...You want to marry her? God gave everybody 1 private part and you can't have more than one person at a time, except you are in a 3some or fivesome. Anyway, my point is, somebody has to marry someone. So, whether she's fine or not, she married him, and i think they have a good story to tell their kids which not so many critics do
I really don't know these people MUCH , but this right here is one iconic car. One of the most rugged off-road vehicle to grace the earth. Even the Queen 'has' one. HML to them.
veleta: Good evening guys. Please, how long does it take for Dvla to verify BRP and Passport for Provisional Licence.I intend to travel 3rd week in July so want to be sure it would be returned before that period. Thanks
wonlasewonimi: If its that easy everyone will be doing it mate. If a bank lend you 100, that somebody else's money they are giving out which they are already paying interest for.
Loan sharks do... So yes other people do it
And some dodgy finance services with dodgy interest rates...
Actually, it's even easy... You borrow me 100pounds and you ask for interest of 5 pounds, hasn't that 5 pounds been created out of thin air?
We only had 100pounds physically, but because of our philosophical agreement, you write down 5 pounds on paper, which never physically existed. Do that to 50 people and you have generated 250pounds virtual money out of 5,000 pounds, when you write it down, you legalise it and it becomes more money which you can borrow other people in a vicious cycle from just being a custodian to keep the money in the first place
If you understand the concept of saving deposits and lending, it's quite straightforward to grasp. I can't find the exact video, but if you really want to find it, you can do a google search
marylandcakes: Lol you are more likely to have that in Nigeria with all the chaotic systems that don’t work.
In Nigeria, you can always have a choice, in a way...wuru wuru things....not the best, but for example, they can't take your driver's license away from you for overspeeding
BafanaBafana: Why will they allow FBI to be carrying out operations in Nigeria? I hate nonsense. By the way yahoo yahoo is not a threat to Nigeria. They should concentrate on other areas like the corruption in the police and other security agencies.
fatima04: Thank you oo, glad I was able to prove them wrong positively.
Expecting those tips boss because that's my next hurdle.
@Australia, lol not at all dough hubby is already eyeing Drs but me like UK for it's proximity to naija. Just helping a sister of mine with the processes.
na wa for this construction oh....needed a translator
