EsotericMonk: My people I need help o. I don't know if I'm seeing correctly or maybe I need to refine my search. Has anyone booked a return ticket to naija for the holidays? The cheapest I'm seeing is 600k while half of that would take me to the US and back. Elders and veterans in the house, is there something I'm not doing right? Bros want to go do Christmas flexin in Naija. As home office would say, better flex on skype. Travelling to Nigeria can take you on European tour this season |

Yinkzy03: Whaooo, congratulations......
I bought 2004 Mitsubishi Colt for £500, not bad atall, more than enough to take the family from point A-B...The Insurance na like £1100 thereabout, i did comprehensive but i am beginning to ask myself why i did comprehensive for a 2004 car sef....Abeg do you guys think i can change it to third party abeg... for third party, based on my experience, i would only be saving about £200+, So comprehensive is probably more cost effective, till one is 100% confident on British roads, esp as we enter winter! My car was 2.4 litre engine and my insurance @ 16,000 miles/ annum cost me about £2,000 est. It begs to wonder if i did myself a good deal. I don't mean to brag about being a petrol head, but i do enjoy a spirited drive now and then, and i don't think any 1.something engine would give me that pleasure! Still, the insurance here is crazy, I wonder if breeze can blow that colt when trailer overtakes? |

fatima04: My people, how do you know you are actually ready for your driving test? I want to judge if I should just go ahead and do the test or keep practising.
Still making some mistakes at the roundabout. best practice, if you make serious errors, instructors usually drive the car back. There's no trial and error |

fatima04: If I am correct it takes 3months for processing but priority takes 3weeks or so. Just check the processing time for the category of visa you want for updated info.
In other news, IHS fees will increase to £400 per year because the govt spend an average of £420 on individual immigrant. UK and money all these dodgy statistics. is it africans using it or Asians...probably Asians, cos africans only go to hospital when they collapse at work. We'll see how it plays out after brexit...strange times ahead |

kaad: I've been riding in buses in Scotland for 2weeks plus now. I havent seen anyone sleeping on those buses, could it be mere coincidence? Because in Naija before the vehicle moves for 30mins someone's head is already hitting your shoulder. They're probably waiting for you to get off the bus first. especially if you keep staring at everybody wondering who is sleeping |

Is it worth switching my auto license to manual...Just attracted by the cheap cost of manuals vs auto ESULAALU: 5 lessons Seeing your level of determination, I really don't want you to waste your time so if you live close to the SE postcodes the EASIEST place to pass on first attempt is Hither Green. Now, you have booked 5 lessons, it means you will need to take those lessons on the possible routes the examiner will ask you to drive on. The road signs are good to follow. The examiners often avoid going on the major routes in hither green in the morning because of rush hour which causes a build up of traffic especially approaching the roundabout there. Most stick to the 30mph inner roads.Occassionally, some examiners might insist venturing on the major roads but the routes are easy to travel on even with minimal practice, beware of bus lane/times(avoid completely if possible) and master traffic lights for your own routes- important! However, that being said generally brush up on the following: Practice your show me tell me questions, round about rules ( give way to the right always, no hesitation), always use your mirrors, all three and ensure examiner sees you doing it(especially when approaching junctions or exiting , you have to be on point with your MSM malarkey, mirror signal manoeuvre and all the associated neck twisting observations). Let youtube guide you as you do further personal practice. Practice your manoeuvre like parralel parking( align mirrors with car you intend to park behind or align with fuel tank if parking right in front of car, steer left- sight the v shape as it aligns with the kerb, pause, steer right and straighten up, this is one manoeuvre you will need quite often). Emergency stop, bay parking etc

TiffanyCara: Morning folks, I'm in a dilemma and I hope this is the right thread to seek help.
I defaulted on my US visa and so technically I am an illegal resident, though I have applied for a green card 6months ago. However, I plan to join my fiancé who is on a Tier 2 visa and has a comfortable job.
The plan is to get married as soon as I come over but Gov.uk says if I apply for a spousal visa, I would only have a 6months leave and I can't switch visas. The other option is to apply as a dependant but when he got into the UK, we weren't engaged at the time, so I wasn't included as his dependant.
Pls I need advice on the options available to me, I'm really confused.
PS: If he sponsors me, I hope my bad immigration history wouldn't be a ground for rejection. I think it is one of the questions asked. Maybe you should get married in Nigeria first and have kids or have kids first. Some people will critic you for this, but i find that all these immigration policies are a kinda wave of discrimination on the 3rd world |

Lemme respect myself and not join in the blue film discussion, perhaps I would be singled out to chop ban this time around.

Yinkzy03: Thanks a lot, i now understand why when some people are moving out they tend to leave some furnitures behind. Moving with those things are not pleasant and you even pay to dispose them off if you are unable to take them to recycling sites.
About insurance, i heard the premium is always high for new drivers as the risk is high. Someone told me you can get a letter from the insurance company you were using in Nigeria showing details of your driving history and all, i heard that will bring down the cost...(not confirmed yet o) The figures are set based on collected data and statistics |
