You do understand that he may be Nigerian by birth, but for all intent and purposes, he is now an American. He has torn up his Nigerian passport. How do i know he did? For you to work in a high level government position and if you are Naturalized, you have to have a secret clearance, and the only way to get that is to have a background check done on you. And part of the process is to bring your passport in and they physically shred it in front of you. If you decide to go get another one, better not let them know because it is a sure way of getting deported. Though it is rare. But one way or the other, you are royally phucked.
You know its just an advisory role right? This is not some white house cabinet position.

An ill composed piece that lacked all judgement and reason. What do you mean republican always republican always wreck the economic? U are only citing recent historical happenings. The US economy dipped because under Bush because of the wars which wasnt his doing but as a result of 9/11. Any US president at that time democrat or republican will go 4 d war. Also we have housing bubble caused by the wall street guys. Hillary and Obama are their friends. You didnt even mention brilliant republican president like Ronald Regan.

Let me tell you when it comes running economy Trump will do a far better job than Obama with his Obamacare and running US economy into serious debts. Can you mention how many times the debt ceiling was raised during Obama times or the whole US will have be ground to an halt.
Oh really? What did Iraq have to do with 9/11?

Congrats to him. I'm not surprised though. The day I got to know this man was (and still is)the owner of gatwick airport in UK, one of the busiest airports in Europe, I was amazed. We've really got a lot of silent, successful Nigerians out there, doing us proud. His wife is the owner of Ruff ''N'' Tumble, a famous kids' outfit in Nigeria.

But can you say same about UK's cabinet members during David Cameron?.. i did a check then and found out the cabinet members' portfolios were not perfectly matched with their degrees/professions etc. I think it there is no hard and fast rule about this.
Abi o. Go and look at Obama's cabinet and you would see how almost no one in the cabinet has a degree in the field they were called to serve.

A lot of people don't know this but the job of a minister is to manage and oversee an institution not be getting involved in the lower level grunt work. I am sure they already have a lot of in house experts for that so he doesn't need to be one himself. Look at Obama's cabinet, how many of them have degrees in the field they worked in? Ash Carter, the current Secretary of Defense is a physicist for goodness sakes. Even Tim Geithner the Treasury secretary (Minister of Finance), the guy studied Chinese in college but yet he was a highly competent Treasury Secretary. And this are not the only guys, there are several people who studied in different fields but who went on to serve the country at the highest levels of govt in completely different areas.

Over here, a lot of people end up working in careers that are completely different from what they studied in college. I know a girl who did political science (or something like that) but ended up working as a programmer. That's one of the reasons that makes this country great. Nigerians on the other hand are too obsessed with certificates as supposed to actual intelligence, competence, judgement and character.

Bring on the Billionaires: Donald Trump's cabinet is the richest in modern history with a combined wealth of $10 BILLION (excluding the man himself).

Donald Trump is assembling a team of like-minded billionaires and millionaires to be a part of his administration's cabinet.

The members of his team are so wealthy that the Washington Post is already calling Trump's cabinet the richest in modern history.

Trump, who himself is worth an estimated $3.7billion according to Forbes although he has said he is worth far more has picked the daughter of a shipping magnate, the co-owner of the Chicago Cubs and some of the richest people in the US.

PoliticsRe: President Buhari Jailed Me For 18 Months In 1984 Just Because I Am Rich – Anenih by davidif: 8:38pm On Dec 02, 2016
exlinkleads:
What did Gen. Buhari told Nigerians that aided his election as president in 2015 is what everybody keep asking till today because he hasn't changed a bit from what he was during his dictatorship rule during the early 80's which led to his government been overthrown.

Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, has revealed that President Buhari jailed him for 18 months in 1984, for being wealthy. According to Punch, Anenih said he was sent to prison between March 1984 and August 1985 when Buhari was a military dictator.

Anenih said “The military regime of General Buhari and Tunde Idiagbon threw me into detention for 18 months on the basis of an anonymous petition that as a prominent and wealthy politician and leader of the NPN in Bendel State, the military administrator would not find his footing unless I was removed from the scene.

“I was sent to Kirikiri Prisons where I spent three months before I was transferred to Ikoyi Prisons.”
He also said he did not commit any crime, adding that his offence was that he was a popular and wealthy politician. Further narrating his ordeal in prison custody, Anenih said “We were transferred to Ikoyi Prisons because of the riot that took place while we were there. The condemned prisoners whose death warrants had earlier been signed by Alhaji Lateef Jakande when he was governor of Lagos State, broke loose on sighting him as one of the detainees.

“They broke out of their cells and headed towards the building where Jakande and the rest of us detainees were kept. As the prisoners were attempting to force the iron door open, mobile police were called in to quell the riot.” Adding that “Where we were staying, the bucket latrines or toilets had opening to the rooms. These buckets were emptied maybe once a week from behind, and if for any reason the buckets were not emptied once a week as the rule, you lived with the stench.

“At night, cockroaches, rats and lizards passed through these holes housing the bucket latrines into our cells after crawling on the buckets to disturb us. So, you could really not sleep for one hour without getting cockroaches perch on you.”

Anenih made this revelation in Abuja on Sunday, November 27, 2016, during the launch of his book titled: My Life and Nigerian Politics.

He served as the minister of works and housing during former President Olusegun Obasanjo tenure from 1999 to 2002.

That is true.

But he was elected to stop the downward sloping, yet he has been behaving like someone who never prepared for office, even after trying for 12 years.

Buhari had an emergency to deal with, yet his actions showed that of a man who thought he had eternity to make a difference.

Nigeria was sinking , now it's almost sunk. No thanks to his predecessor and him.

Are these people who have paraded themselves as our leaders since the return of democracy really the best we have.

Answer is NO. They are only qualified for our WORST eleven. Nigeria can do better.

If we have the first African to win a nobel laureate in literature, richest black man here in our country, it means we are not useless after all.

We need to get our politics right. I am sure the parties are already preparing another set of mumus for 2019. In the end, our choices are always limited in every election.
