MrLouisVanGaal: From 2005 to around 2010, when a topic came to front page, there was so much contributions that some people's epistle can vitually cover a page. From then on blogs sprang forth like water and they started posting news that just made no meaningful contribution to their readers lives but the owners where generating tons of cash on adsense, seeing what was happening, Seun felt left out and had to do something and now ladies and gentlemen, i present to you Nairaland blog, where completely irrelevant topics make front page and people can only comment okay, fine, nice, next.

Christianity Etc › Re: How I Embraced Christ by davidif: 10:35am On Dec 17, 2016 |
NegeduGrace: Children of God in the house help me give the lord a shout,i give glory to the kings of kings and lord of lords for his Grace and mercy upon my life.
I was born into the family of late Alhaji Ahmed Ali Negedu as Halimatu Sadiya A Negedu,my dad is a well known Alhaji @my place which is Ankpa local government area of Kogi state.
On this fateful day in the Year 2O11,i was lying down in our parlour listening to joy fm when a man of God gave a prophecy that they is a young lying down and listening to me,the young man in your life just want to destroy you.christ loves you and need you,i believe him and know he was referring to me because they was a serious issue then.i travelled all the way to benue state to meet the man of God without my people's knowledge and there I gave my life to christ but when I returned home I couldn't practice Christianity because of my people's reaction but fast-forward to 3rd of March 2012 the man of God came to host a crusade @ankpa local government area of Kogi state and I attended the crusade and on that crusade ground just like the days of Saul the lord visited me himself.they was a bright light that was making me go blind and I heard a voice saying I should surrender to him or go blind, I struggled very well to open my eyes no way so I gave up and gave my life to christ in total submission to serve him all the days of my life.
After the encounter the holy spirit Gave me a new identity and I was named GRACE,,but my dear brothers and sisters in the lord the persecution came.every where I stepped I became the object of gossip,,rejection came but I never gave up on christ..i really love him from the depth of my heart because it is in his able hands, there is no kind of charm of arrow that was not formed @me but none prospered because christ is with me living and dwelling inside of me, nobody disowned me in as much as they don't want to have anything to do with me but I live n still living in my father's house.
The reason for this testimony is to empower new converts to be strong in the lord,i know so many people that have fallen along the way..don't be that person, the devil is a liar and jesus is the sweetest thing I know. I have encountered so many temptations and afflictions but my faith keep waxing strong in God because it all his doings.
If you know your purpose of serving God then Nothing should shake your faith or make you have mixed feelings towards serving him for ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free(John 8:32).
My advice to those who re yet to give their life to christ is to do so because he is truly the way,the truth and the life. He is the greatest, he is the highest, the biggest, the largest, the mightiest, he is beautiful, marvellous, righteous, holy, faithful, merciful, gracious in his ways, he is the great healer, the miracle worker, the most excellency, his royal highness, his majesty, the alpha n omega, awanilawaso, agbanilagbato, chidima, chidebube, akanagworia, oyenememma, bomimi ni momimi, he is worthy to be praised, worthy to be worshipped, worthy to me magnified, worthy to be glorified, he is the great iam, the God that heaven is his abode and earth his footstool, ,he never lost a battle, oghene doooo, baba eshe gaun, oba gbogbo aye,,the burning bush that doesn't consume, he raised the dead to life,he made the blind to see,the lame to walk, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, the barren to give birth,,he is the stone of sharon, he is precious than Gold, the lille of the valley, the bright morning star..AGABAIDUH, the lion of the tribe of judah..he who is, who was n is to come,my prince of peace,my defender, provider, my pprotector, my signs and wonders.HALLELLUYA!
If you love christ appreciate him with your words n your likes... Man, I wish I could like this a thousand times. Thank God for your faith. |

vodutive: Tell that to the families of the 20,000 people who's family members have been killed by BH and will never come back. At least she knows where her husband is, if he is innocent one day they will release him. EFCC will not arrest you if you haven't done anything shady similarly Army will not arrest you unless they have reason to think her husband is involved in BH one way or another.
When BH say they want some of their members in detention released in exchange for Chibok girls, who do you think they are talking about? I bet you it is people like her husband. Since when was it Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions job to investigate Boko Haram? Also, if was arrested? why hasn't been tried yet? You don't lock someone in jail because of suspicion. You investigate, prosecute and if they are found guilty then they face the consequences. You don't just round up people, lock them in jail and throw away the keys. |

LordReed: I am amused because you seem to underestimate the psychological trauma of seeing menses for the first time. This is something some people never quite recover from and add to that that they have to see it 12+ times a year. Seeing a live birth in my estimation is as "traumatising" as seeing blood flow out of you for no explicable reason (for less informed first timers). That girl will know how "stressful" childbirth is and will be oriented to the sacrifices a parent/mother makes for children. I have not seen a live birth but from descriptions and the videos on the net I have a pretty good grasp of what it would be like to be there and I am pretty sure that any man that is opportuned to witness it would appreciate his wife that much more rather than be merely overcome by the event.
EDIT: to help you understand a bit more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1344260/Girls-begin-menstruating-early-likely-develop-depression-teenagers.html She asked you a question which you conveniently evaded. Family › Re: About Mid-life Transition by davidif: 8:57am On Dec 13, 2016 |
Jamean: Hi Friends,
So this thread is borne out of my recent conversations with my closest friend whose elder brother just began the pursuit of a Bachelor of Law (LLB)degree commencing January 2016, after gaining a certificate of BArts History and International Studies in 2008.
Now this is 8years down the line and he's married with 2children. Out of the blues he just remembered that Law was his first love and must go back to chase that career line. He resigned his appointment in the state he resides with his family to relocate to the state of the University. He also moved into his father's property there with his family, thus changing the whole course of their lives and has resulted in home trouble.
I actually encourage constant self development but this like setting a clock to tick anti-clock wise. The usual flow is first degree, second degree or professional courses.
Now, this is what is termed Mid-life Transition or Mid-life Crisis.
Midlife transition" is a natural stage that happens to many of us at some point (usually at about age 30s - 50s)which includes: Discontentment or boredom with life or with the lifestyle (including people and things) that have provided fulfillment for a long time.
A mid-life crisis is experienced by some people as they realize they have reached a midpoint in their lifespan and experience conflicts or dissatisfaction within themselves because of unrealized goals, self- perceptions or physical changes as a result of aging or health issues.
A mid-life crisis could be caused by aging itself, or aging in combination with changes, problems, or regrets over: work or career (or lack thereof) spousal relationships (or lack thereof) maturation of children (or lack of children) aging or death of parents physical changes associated with aging.
In the face of all these.. I had a meditation about 2 key conversations I should have with a proposed spouse:
- How do you think you will handle a loss of job or abrupt change in career path.
- What are the those things you wish you had done in life before marriage and still crave for a chance to do.
In conclusion.. with emphasis to the married, about to be married/single and elderly people on this forum.
- To the married and elderly.. Have you had the issue of Mid-life Transition with yourself or your spouse? How was it managed?
- To the about to be married/single... what are those things you perceive can give rise to Mid-life Transition with you?
Let's discuss... thanks I won't exactly classify 30's as midlife. 50's probably but 30's? Absolutely not. |

Family › Re: A Lesser Evil: A Wife Who Can't Cook Or A Wife Who Can't Manage The Home by davidif: 8:46am On Dec 13, 2016 |
naijacutee: Additionally, if both parents work, cleaning and cooking services exist so this is no longer a basic requirement for marriage. People should focus on being great parents and raising the next generation with all that they need to make a difference in this world, rather than focusing on outsourceable tasks such as cooking and cleaning. What?!?!?! Cooking and cleaning outsourceable tasks? How old are you again? Please tell me you also have a family and children cos this statement is so naive it's not even funny. You must be assuming that house helps are readily available and are affordable to a lot of people and they simply are not. Secondly, the cooking and cleaning services you talk about are highly expensive and are financially imprudent for most families. Being a great parent requires one to be financially prudent; being able to live within ones means and being able to provide for your family and not spending money on things that can be done at home. Lastly, you assume that parenting and home management (including cooking) are mutually exclusive and separate from each another when they are not. They are all part of parenting. Parental responsibilities require you to be able to actually manage YOUR HOME! Its being able to provide a safe, clean and conducive environment for your family. That's called being a great parent. |
