antontech: While congratulating the United States President-elect, Donald Trump, the ex-minister said the incoming US leader would help to curb President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged Islamic agenda. Chei! see delusion! as if Donald Trump does not have better things to worry about, he is going to be involved in a third world country in a different part of the world. Delusion indeed. |

Mexyz: Only in Nigeria do we see her Army declaring war on her people... Police just come useless for this administration, The 2 agencies(DSS&NA) that are supposed to be secretive in their dealings and operations are the ones dancing naked on the stage. That is why i have been saying that state and local govts should be given autonomy to determine there destiny. Let them create there own law enforcement units. Let them elect there judges and police commissioners. |

MONITZ: Don't mind them, these re things that ordinary local government chairman ought to be responsible for, they re littering our landscape with shoprite and they see this as very big achievements.
I won't be surprised if the governors ve some interests in this their new found venture because the average Nigerian politician ve the penchant for doing things that would be beneficial to his immediate family and not the masses. ...
Uduaghan built his in Warri while Okowa is building his in Asaba... Ok, let them continue. Wrong! even local govts should not be responsible for this kind of things. It should be the private sector. The job of the govt is to make things easier for the private sector to flourish and then collect taxes they are NOT supposed to be the drivers of the economy. The problem in this country is that we have been practicing an economy where the state is the main economic driver instead of the people. Like a wise man once said, "People create wealth, not the govt." |

Vorpal: Thing is, there is something money can never buy, and that is character. A depth of character that is deeper than the oceans.
For a girl to make up her mind that she would marry a man she knows not more than a month shows her depth.
That my dear,is priceless not even Buhari with all his repute of integrity can pass that to his daughter. and how exactly do you know the details of there relationship? Did they actually tell you? Look at you just jumping into conclusions about the status of someone's relationship that you have never even met. |

Moreover, anything of either extreme is usually not regarded as appealing. That is why most albinos are equally not seen as very attractive. WRONG! WRONG!! WRONG!!! Your entire post is wrong on so many levels its not even funny. First of all, albinos are people who don't have pigmentation. That's completely different from those of a darker hue. Gosh your post incredibly bigoted and prejudicial its ridiculous. Absolutely disgusting point of view. |

comshots: Na those local police own go worse pass. You know how long state Governors dey take pay salary? November salary is paid on 20th of December. What i am saying is that they should scrap the concept of national police and let policing be left to the local govts. Let them each create there own police force and pay them with there own tax revenue. The local govt will determine how many policemen they can recruit and afford to pay from there revenue. This is why allocations need to cease as it is stopping the rest of the country from developing. Let the local govts be autonomous and let them govern themselves with the oversight of the state. |

Blue3k: Lol everyone watching the president but the problem is closer to home for some of us. If the war on curruption was genuine buhari could just read news paper and catch these guys.
Just look at kebbi Govenor bribing state legislature with new cars with full comprehensive insurance. 25 brand new cars people. Kebbi the state with 6th lowest IGR.
http://www.nationalhelm.net/2016/11/kebbi-gov-presents-brand-new-cars-worth.html As in ehn? It's as if the EFCC is so incompetent or they are corrupt themselves by practising selective justice. If I was Buhari, the first thing I would have done is to clean house and hire outsiders and put them in charge of the agency. I won't mind if the entire staff were foreigners long as they are competent and they are people of integrity. That way we can gain credibility in the eyes of the world and can show them that we are serious about fighting corruption. We can ask the British govt and the Americans for some of there top investigators (even the retirees) and turn them lose on the Nigerian political establishment and watch the house burn. And another thing, to maintain there independence, Buhari should remove the EFCC from under the jurisdiction of the attorney general to ensure there complete independence. We can't have the ministry of Justice telling us who we can and cannot pursue. |

Romance › Re: What I Find Disturbing About Nairaland by davidif: 2:12am On Nov 28, 2016 |
Gabby91: What I find disturbing about Nairaland 1. Tribalism: it gets depressing just reading the hate-filled comments. It ruins the whole day for me. I have caught myself wondering if most of the people I run into during the day also subscribe to these intense hatred for others. Regardless of the terrible things happening around, I know for a fact that I can't paint a whole tribe as evil. I reside in the north. I have been shown real kindness by both the northern and southern people. I am actually from the east myself. 2. The battle of the sexes: I am not using this term in a playful way. Like the tribal e-war, the blame game is too much. A lady asks for advice and people begin to insult all Nigerian women or all women. What's wrong? I have lived a while on this side of the earth and I have met the good, the bad and the ugly. Both men and women fall into these categories. I see good men striving against all odds to do right by their family. I see women striving alongside them. Look around you when you drive to work tomorrow. You will see both men and women working. In fact, I know more people engaged in legitimate hustle than the gold diggers, oloshos, gigoles or runsgirls some commenters on nairaland would have me be believe inhabit Nigeria. I am not a writer so I will stop here. But really, why the hate? Is love now outdated? How come love is only seen as something between a man and a woman? What of the one between brothers, neighbors, friends, and so on? I am tired. It has really gotten pathetic this days man but I think it's a vocal minority. |

I won't even say she belongs to the middle class, cos she is far from dat, she is an OAP, nd her husband is a pilot
D lower class and the Middle class family still puts to bed everyday, still feeds dere children Nd still manage to send dem to school
U r busy giving excuse for someone who is using recession as a silly excuse not to give birth And please how is it your business if she decides to have kids or not? It's her prerogative for goodness sakes! It's her marriage she can decide to wait as long as possible. The fact that she has the money should not be the only reason she chooses to have a child or not. |
