SportsRe: Bcs Championship Game. Lsu-Ohio State. by davidif: 11:32am On Dec 10, 2007
I hope LSU crushes Ohio State like Florida did last year, thereby proving to us what we already know: that the Big 10 is absolutely pathetic. Who did the buckeyes play all year Youngstown State. To me, the teams that should be playing in the national championship are USC and Oklahoma. If there is any team i did rather not face right now its the Trojans, (did i mention that they have a terrific defense, did you see what they did to Arizona State and UCLA?). Along with Georgia, they are the hottest team right now. LSU on the other hand, had its chances to play for the national title but they blew it twice (they should be thanking Missouri and West Virginia for choking) by losing to Kentucky and Arkansas (who cares that they lost in triple overtimes).

Now back to the match up, LSU couldn't stop the run against Arkansas, what makes them think they can stop Chris "Beanie" Wells from gashing them like Felix Jones and Darren McFadden did? Plus, there defensive coordinator just left to become the head coach at Nebraska and even though he is going to be coaching that game in New Orleans, i think its going to severely affect his preparation for the final game (maybe).
SportsRe: Hatton V Mayweather - Dec 8 by davidif: 11:20am On Dec 10, 2007
Yes sirrrrrr, Floyd "pretty boy" Mayweather KO'd Hatton back to britain ha ha. Thus showing that he is the best pound for pound fighter ever. Forget Miguel Cotto, he hasn't fought anybody yet, yet he still looks suspect against inferior fighters.

Are you serioushuh Just hand it to them and let's focus on fixing our country and taking care of our citizens, with all the oil we have, what have we done with it? It would be ludicrious if we went to war over something like this, white people watch all the wars in Africa and laught at us calling us savages that we can't solve disputes. War is simply not worth it, why not spend this money on free education (gbogbo aye ti lo, awa sin wo se n le) and free healthcare.
SportsRe: After the Break: Do not comment on Arsenal's ended unbeaten run by davidif: 7:17am On Dec 06, 2007
Its also a defensive formation with 2 defensive midfielders, which arsenal does not need. Why do you think the world cup was incredibly boring last year? because everybody was using the formation, that's why there were hardly any goals. It was the greeks who made the formation trendy after winning the euros in 04. AC Milan has also been known to play another variation of the 4-5-1 when they still had sheva, which is specifically a 4-3-2-1, with three defensive midfielders, they also call it the "christmas tree". I hope Nigeria doesn't start playing like this.
SportsRe: Are Foreigners The Problem Of English Footbal? by davidif: 3:52am On Dec 06, 2007
yes, english football has lost its identity. When i grew up watching the premiership in the late 90's in naija, the premiership was authentically english now i can barely recognize the players of arsenal.
SportsRe: After the Break: Do not comment on Arsenal's ended unbeaten run by davidif: 3:49am On Dec 06, 2007
Duhhhh, old news, that's the 4-2-3-1, i can't believe you are just discovering the 4-5-1 ha ha ha unbelievable, everybody around the world uses it nowadays, even female college soccer coaches. Even brazil is the latest to fall in love with it. Geez you must not know anything about soccer. ha ha
RomanceRe: Jamaican Female Dating A Nigerian: Advice by davidif: 3:45am On Dec 06, 2007
I don't think naija sisters are like African American girls who get angry when there men go after girls of different ethnicities, that is unless they live in america and have started adopting there ways. Most naija girl don't care because there are more than enough boys to go around. Also, you have to know the man's heart and attitudes, if he his straight from the motherland then he probably wants you to be an educated proffessional, a wife, or a mother at the same time (especially if he is a yoruba man). He also wants you to be respectful and disciplined and not like a hoodrat disrespecting her husband. ciao bella.

where are our leaders when you need them, Lagos is a cesspool of diseases and poverty instead of this guys trying to fix the once great state of lagos, they are bickering over unnecessary things. To whom much has been given much is required, this guys have so much and instead of taking of there constituents they are engaged in unnecessary arguements and during the weekends "alaye" parties what a shame. This guys should try to pass meaningful bills to clean up lagos and invest in Agriculture and education. After the oil boom of the 70's nigeria stopped investing in Agriculture as a result, people from the rural areas started flooding the cities for jobs which unfortunately didn't exist as a result they ended up engaging in social vices for survival.
Fortunately, Nigeria's problems although ernomous are easy to solve, all you need is good governance which might never happen until the people wake up from there apathy.
Solution
The state should create free education and free healthcare schemes in the rural areas as a means of depopulating the city and should start local industries like textile industries, food processing plants and other low tech industries. Also, the govt should heavily subsidise agriculture in the state, especially the production of food crops but at the same time encouraging farmers to grow cash crops like cocoa which should be used for exports. They should also create roads to the rural areas to make them self sufficient, also they should place high property taxes on residential homes and businesses in the cities to discourage people from living in the cities, at the same time creating tax incentives and bonuses in the rural areas, the govts should abolish property taxes in the rural areas. When people see how expensive real estate in the rural areas are compared to the cities, and also the high standard of education and infrastructure they would "follow the money".

In order for Nigeria to have the best educational system in the world like singapore it would need to recruit the best students to teach our kids, this would also solve the issue of unemployment.

SportsRe: {poll} Vote For your Best Player by davidif: 5:24am On Dec 05, 2007
Stevie Wonder is definitely the most underrated players, i know he is not flashy but he does everything, but by far the best and most underrated player is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for those who have never watched this kid play, he is the best striker in europe right now, and he is almost as skillful as Christiano Ronaldo who is a winger, and definitely better than Drogba or any other striker on that least. The reason he is not so popular is that he doesn't play in a huge media market, if he moved to chelsea, everybody would be saying he is the best. Also, don't forget the fabulous David Villa.
SportsRe: Euro 2008 Draw: Italy,Holland and France in one Group by davidif: 5:18am On Dec 05, 2007
@ hustler

I simply meant that the italians are old, just about all there best players are over 30 years old, the only new young blood they have is Di Natalie and don't even mention Luca Toni, he is 32 years and made his national team debut just two years ago (he is a very late bloomer). Also, the dutch defensive line is not bad, heitinga and mathijsen can hang with the best of them, afterall, they conceded very few goals during the world cup and the qualifiers.

"ma lo gbe we e loma ka, on le boyfriend ka kiri". "egba gidi gon lo need". You better stop that nonsense and face your studies before you become like African americans (they have an 80% child out of wedlock rate), then you would become a "baby mama" working 3 jobs after your naija parents have disowned you, instead of being a naija wife with a proffessional degree, as far as i am concerned my kids are not dating till they turn 21, end of story.
RomanceRe: Why Are Nigerians Shy About Public Kissing? by davidif: 4:17am On Dec 05, 2007
because its not our culture, Nigerians just started learning kissing when they started watching too many American movies. My my, why must we always copy what westerners do and put down our culture as "local, bush or uncivilized"? You can be a developed country without changing your culture or values (see japan, finland, spain and south korea) Gosh what is wrong with our people? This right here is what we called mental and cultural slavery. Where is the senate where you need them? or the ministry of culture, as far as i am concerned, they should ban all western movies, music and culture and instead rigorously promote our culture and heritage right now, we must reeducate our kids to be proud of there culture.

TV/MoviesRe: 80% Of Nollywood Films Are Wack by davidif: 8:18am On Dec 04, 2007
naija movies are just absolutely unwatchable and wack. Poor quality of sound, pathetic acting (why do they always overdramatize or wanna sound like americans), in addition to that, there is absolutely no editing, plus the scripts are awful, and don't even get me started on the directing. As patriotic as i am, i've tried to watch some of them but i just get irritated after watching like 5 minutes, then i have to switch it off, even if the actresses are hot like chiegwe (or whatever her name is) after a while i just have to eject it.
CultureRe: What's Expected Of Nigerian Women by davidif: 2:25am On Dec 04, 2007
It simply depends on the husband. But my wife must be a medical doctor by the grace of God and she must also be a mother. This is one of the reasons i only want to marry a naija girl, because they can combine both, in other countries especially in yanki, because a girl is now a medical doctor and sophisticated she can't cook and would rather eat out and employ a nanny, God forbid bad thing. Also, most of all she has to be a very very strong christian.

SportsRe: Euro 2008 Draw: Italy,Holland and France in one Group by davidif: 1:38am On Dec 04, 2007
Euro 2004 ruined football to the extent that it popularised the concept of playing with 2 defensive midfielders (the 4-5-1) which only the italians previously used, i know the greek coach was simply trying to maximize the potential of a team that had no talent (Georgios Samaras anyone?) and it workedl, as a result, everybody tried to use it at the world cup which made it ultra boring, highly tactical and very low scoring. As far as i am concerned, all defensive midfielders should be banned from football because they eliminate the entertainment purpose and make the game more business like instead of fun like. Fancy, having 70hr work week then on sunday instead of watching a delightful soccer game i'm watching body builders (Chelsea) with no skill or imagination (German football), i don't like seeing no talent players just spoiling beautiful one two passes. Unfortunately, even the spanish are beginning to play like that.
