texaco1: bros , with all humility I will tell u that ur own questions knocks off the case u are trying to present.but I think a lawyer should be able to enlighten us more since we are both not lawyers .but from this tape tb has many escape routes from conviction
How? ?

Anyway, like u said. .a lawyer will beta enlighten d house.
Christianity EtcRe: Shocking! Recorded Voice Tape of TB Joshua Bribing Journalists To tell Lies! by dBard: 7:43pm On Sep 20, 2014
texaco1: you can shake ur head as much as u like .but the truth is with this tape ,you don't have a water tight case against tb,there are many loopholes any competent lawyer exploit and build up. The only thing is he gave money and he stated the reasons there in the tape. The journalist should have tried to make him give a comment about what he actually wanted them to do.
o.k.. ..

Questions;

was the meeting held in d open or behind closed doors? ?

was the 'gift' given proportionate t wat it was for? ??

was d 'gift' capable of influencing opinions in his favor? ?

Did he (TbJ) suggest to them t 'soften d reports' huh

Did a journalist ask 'wat do u want us t write?'

Am by no means a lawyer, but dis case looks almost done t me.

enigmaotr: We are in Nigeria where CAN and PDP has labelled APC- Fashola's party- an Islamic Party! And you expect him to make one foolish move when we're just few months to the general election? Everything is politicised in Nigeria so I think he should tread softly.
Understood. .
but one of the first tins I said was f Fashola not to politicize dis as is d norm here.
We politicized boko haram n see where we are today.

The ppl that died were Nigerians...pussyfooting arnd dis will only reinforce the typical Nigerian belief that certain tins makes certain individuals untouchable.

I still stand by wat I said earlier. .firmly.

texaco1: u are letting the heat of this issue get to you. The person that recorded that message didn't do a good job. There is no where in that tape where tb asked the journalist to commit a crime ,infact it is the journalists that are in trouble because according to you ,it is not ethical for them to ask or collect brown envelopes which they did. Tb never said that the money was for them to suppress anything ,infact the journalists were the ones telling and coaching him what to say. It is a very very simple case for him to wriggle free. It is the journalists whose heads will roll . Tb was smart enough not to make any comment that will either implicate him or make him look as if he was bribing them .

Ventura1: Were they there on his invitation? If it is a press conference called by him it is a norm for the host to augment the cost of their visit, It is not a new thing. Beside what is the content of the tape being handed out to the journalist?
To the journalist that posted the audio, what is the truth T.B Joshua wanted you to supress that is not already in the public domain, that majority of those in the building are not Nigerians but south africans! you just want to create cheap popularity from a depressed man.
N50k that can fuel a fuel guzzling v6 engine f weeks was given as' transport expenses' aka fuel money n u call it the 'Norm' huh
o.k. o

In saner societies, the relevant agencies would've swung into action by now, but here we are arguing abt d right n wrong of an act that is Blatantly WRONG!
and someone was actually asking 'wat do u want us t report? '..n yet some ppl see nothing wrong wit it.

It's a pity, corruption has become so rampant, it's now seen as d norm.

This is why countries like d U.S.A n odas are considered great cos in certain situations, they act regardless of political/religious affiliations.

Though it's true wat u said, but the onus lies on Fashola as a leader t take d necessary steps t ensure wateva went wrong is addressed as appropriate.

How would u feel if someone u knew had bin involved? ??

PenSniper: Nicholas's behaviour in this case belies his aclaimed award achievements. And all those that have risen in his defence are either fools or mischievious or both. For an act to have been termed a bribe, it must've been clearly seen as an attempt to cover up a wrong, a wrong already known to the intended recepient, Nicholas in this case. Scores of people, including a professional rescue team from South Africa plus first-hand rescue workers in Nigeria have been to the site. I am no fan of TB Joshua or his brand of church, but given the fact that amongst these people must have been fortright people who cannot be cajoled into silence plus those that may have no use for the 'prophet', none of them have reported anything odd other than the attempt to add more floors to the building without adequate precautions, what then is Nicholas gloating about ? Although i agree that money could not have been offered, that is if it was at all, without alterior motive, but for what ? It may have been for image laundrying in which case it would be wrong to call it a bribe. With his so-called professionalism, Nicholas should've stated the reason behind the 'bribe' as he knows it or lay off, otherwise, he was only seeking to achieve cheap publicity through a tragedy of that magnitude which makes him a depraved element.
If it was for image laundering, wat would u call it? ??

aderonila18: I don't blame Fashola, it's not because it's a big Church I think it because it a Church and you know how Nigerians are with Religion. There's a thread on Nairaland saying how Fashola and APC want to Islamise Nigeria because of the way the synagogue issue has been handled. According to the poster Fashola should be busying looking for the so called plane and not investigating the Church!

Imagine o, wetin be APC's business with plane or Synagogue but you see the average Nigerian doesn't reason when it comes to Religion. If Fashola handles this case the way it should be they will label him a jihadist. Even GEJ knows that if he dosen't thread careful the man will tell his people he is an Anti-Christ. Nigerians themselves are the problems, we allow these people to use us once they bring up these silly religious or tribal sentiments.
Fashola should, of a necessity, Do the Right thing, n not fall into the habit of playing politics wit Everything.
He owes the populace/those that elected him that much.

'nuff said.

Ebola Cure: At Last, Nigerian
Government ‘Applies For Japanese
Drug’ – Minister
The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi
Chukwu, Monday announced that the
country has applied for the Japanese drug for
the treatment of Ebola Virus Disease. The
drug – Favipiravir – was developed by a
subsidiary of Fujifilm Holdings and could be
delivered immediately. The flu treatment
was approved by the Japanese health
ministry in March. Fujifilm spokesman
Takao Aoki said the company was in talks
with United States authorities about starting
clinical testing of Favipiravir for Ebola
treatment.
Aoki had said that developers currently had
enough stock to treat around 20,000 patients.
Apart from the Japanese drug, Chukwu said
the country was also applying for the TKM-
Ebola drug alongside two other vaccines
which has been identified by the Treatment
Research Group. The minister, who spoke at
the opening of the 2nd Emergency National
Council on Health meeting on Ebola Virus
Disease outbreak in Nigeria said, “the
Treatment Research Group (TRG) has been
working hard to identify experimental drugs
like Zmapp, and also make
recommendations to government on further
research on these drugs as well as vaccines
for EVD treatment and prevention.”
“Following the TRG’s recommendation and
in consultation with NAFDAC and NHREC,
Nigeria has indicated interest to participate
in the clinical trials for two candidate EVD
vaccines and are considering a third that
may be added to the list. We have also
applied for experimental drugs such as TKM-
Ebola. The TRG has submitted a detailed
profile and brief on the oral antiviral agent
which the Japanese Government has offered
to make available to affected countries
through the World Health Organization. We
are now considering the profile and brief to
enable us reach a final decision on making it
available to our patients.”
“Our initial knowledge of the agent is that it
has been shown to have strong antiviral
activity against the influenza virus following
phases I and II human trails, it is now going
through phase III clinical trials. It is shown
to have strong antiviral property against
Ebola virus in vitro and in vivo. The fact that
it is considered safe, having passed through
phase I and II clinical trials makes it a good
drug for use in emergency situation as the
EVD.”

kaboninc: Firstly I would have preferred you replied with a definite answer and go on to prove your point. Secondly from the narration, its very clear that there is a bond and that bond is defined by the relationship mutually consented to and freely entered by the guy and lady without any form of coercion.

Going by your analogy, if I am rusticated, then I can consider my years spent in the university as a waste or some form of knowledge gain depending on my personal perspective of life: a loss if I indeed call it a loss and a gain if I am determined to succeed - no knowledge is a waste. In actual sense the relationship between the university and I was a waste (if I consider it to be). Lol. Same with this couple, they 'enjoyed' themselves, had fun together and for every action taken either as an individual or a group, they bear the responsibility. Don't you think its contradictory to say that you had fun, and excitement during the four years and later when the tide comes, you say all the time spent was a waste (4 years as a waste)?

This has become the habit of ladies who lack foresight and look for cheap blackmail or petty emotional justice to lay a blame on a guy simply because he refuses her insatiable need. One can only conclude that in other to pacify and accept the 'accusation', the guy can simply accept to marry the lady; question is have you thought about the consequences? If the guy has the same thought process as the lady then its only fair to conclude that both saw their years together as a waste; unless the guy has a different mindset. Personally I find it petty when a lady tells me that I wasted her years with me when we mutually agreed to be in a relationship. Either am a responsible partner and my partner is irresponsible or the reverse, we both have the right to claim wastage of years. The society just have this way of protecting a woman.

My interest here is on the claim made by the lady of wasting four years of her life.
well said..

bukatyne: Look at it this way...

You enter Uni to get a degree and after four years, you are rusticated or for some reasons could not get it; does it feel like wasted four years? does it matter if you wore the best clothes, won most handsome etc.?

You didnot achieve the purpose of entering the uni and that is a waste.

Now imagine you enter university with the aim to flex; your parents have one company you are to inherit and they probably forced you to school. If after four years, you no get pali, will it matter?
They BOTH Consented to be in a relationship.
They BOTH obviously went out of their way t please each other
It WAS, apparently, a loving, mutually benefiting relationship.
Calling ALL That a waste just to prove her selfish point/emotionally blackmail d guy is simply put..underhanded.
So if am to go by ur analogy, students that go in f a 4 yr course n eventually end up spending 6yrs or more b4 graduating shld consider all that a waste? ?
She obviously wasn't in a relationship but a race against society's expectations.
