I am just happy that it is an Igbo person that scored the highest in jamb this year. If it was a Yoruba person some people will be here saying all the fight is for the Yoruba boy or girl who jamb wants to support and ensure recieves the gifts, accolades and scholarship
You tried but not too bad because you are a starter. You didn't have the experience. Another thing I can see us that you were not the one who started the relationship she had you where she wanted you. Next time learn how to take charge. After a nice day at the eatery politely disagree on the swimming. Tell her that will be for next time and no need of excuse like bcoz of money. Tell the guy that asked you the truth and walk out like you did. She go meet her type, then I am tempted to ask if you actually asked her out because if you didn't then she may be right you are just her friend.
Lurdd: There's this girl I met.. I sheepishly fell for her after few romantic calls from her She's fair and pretty. Then I decided to take her out today, she took a cab which I paid 2k. so we went to an eatery.. then I bought rice and chicken and some stuffs we ate..the bill was 13500, after we were done around 2:35 we left there, she said she wanted to go swimming I then took her to a fancy hotel with an Uber 3k.. on getting there she saw a guy she knew, they exchanged pleasantries which I didn't care about.. turns out that the guy came to swim as well...the swimming was 4k each for both of us.. that's 8k plus the swimming trunks I bought for her that is 3500k...so we freshened up and jump into the pool, i noticed she avoided me inside the pool, always wanting to play alone, and avoided me touching her then I left her on her own..and was swimming alone and having fun, I came back again for her to notice me, she still snubbed me...I left her alone and sat down near the pool when it was raining and there was this cold that pulled me down as I was shivering... meanwhile she was still inside the pool having fun all by herself... until this guy we met when we came.. went inside the pool..I then saw them interacting and I was annoyed..not until I saw him backing her and carrying her around inside the pool while they have fun... Not once not twice, she later came later came to me and ask if I was feeling cold I said yes she said sorry and went back inside the pool...to cut the story short, while I was sitting all by myself interacting with some guys, that guy she was playing with came and told me that my girl said that I was just a friend that he wanted to confirm himself, so he will know he's not offending anyone.. I felt like an idiot, as I went to the dressing room and put on my clothes and left scene looking foolish as she called me back.. On my way back home I bought magic moment vodka.. and drank myself to stupur Am still high while typing these... What is the problem..I put on an expensive VL shirt with a jogger I bought 21k a slippers of 7k, I sprayed a very nice perfume. I have a very nice facial look...what was the problem if I may ask, I avoided girls like plague all my life and gave this one chance and she made me a fool, am only 23. I think I've learnt my lesson.. my deepest regrets was the whole money I spent, it should remained in my account.. girls fear my return.
MayorOFNigerdel: Nigeria is really in a deep mess, yesterday Northerner was a president and he retired so many southerners and promoted his northern brothers to top position, today is the turn of a westerner and he his doing the tribal bidding, Tomorrow will be the turn of easterners and they will do their tribal bidding, tribalism has taken over this country, its only a true Niger Delta state that is not playing the tribalism cards, funny people living in a funny country
Haba! Where did u hear it is about tribe? Pls let's spread love not hate
Lexzeey: I am not the problem trust me, I don't smoke, womanize, behave irresponsibly, what more can I do?
Eyaah! The adviser must be a very mature person and presented it in a mature way but your pride and arrogance has step into it and so you can't reason this simple advise. Guy checking yourself doesn't mean that you are the bad person. Only means you need to re-evaluate yourself and only you have such details that can help you understand what the writer expect you will be able to discover. He has gone ahead to even suggest areas to check which are your values and priorities. You may be looking for Toyota car with Honda engine.
EriMma1: I've been observing this for some time now. Once a couple has lived together for ten years, the closeness between them reduces. As in.. the man no longer sits with the wife to gist or even play. Meanwhile, you'll still see the woman trying to bond and wanting her man to always be around her.
I noticed this in one couple. In fact they are pastor and Mrs. The woman always follows the man every where and wants to sit where he's sitting but the man would clearly avoid her and go out of sight completely when the tailing becomes too much and only come back when the woman is no longer in sight. Why?
No man born of a woman will try such with me, I'll blank you like you're not there.
Women, you too should wise up and stop making yourselves too available. Make yourself a bit scarce and they'll value you.
Most times it is not as easy, marriage is different. It's easier to blank a friend out. Now what if some of this women have tried that and it just doesn't work. Sometimes again the one seeking the attention is the problem actually as she knows what she is doing that is making the man behave that way and she may be cry her eyes out but not ready to change.
DaisyMellow: Hi guys. I usually don't bring relationship issues to Nairaland, but this one is very serious as it concerns the man I am engaged to and scheduled to marry before the end of the year.
I have known him for a year and few months and we are in love. When we started having sex, it was all vanilla and although he was a bit rough; as in throwing me around and putting me in different positions, I was okay with it, and honestly, it was kinda exciting because some of those styles were new to me
However recently things have gotten really weird whenever we are having sex. He requests me to do certain stuff that honestly creeps me out. Sometimes he would tie my hands behind my back so tight and stuff the pillowcase in my mouth, then have his way with me. Sometimes he would blindfold me with my scarf and ask me to beg him to free me, while choking me with his two hands. There was even a time he got a knife and pretended to want to stab me and asked me to play along and act scared. Sometimes he would ask me to forge tears so he would watch me cry while we had sex.
It's gotten real bad that a week ago, I almost passed out when he was doing one of his weird choking sex-plays. In the past I have talked to him about how I didn't enjoy some of these things and how we should do it sparingly or not at all. He sounded like he understood, but after a few weeks he seemed bored and uninterested in normal sex, and begged me to go back to the rough stuff because that's the only thing he likes.
I know he loves me because he takes good care of me and is even friendly with my parents and siblings. But this extreme sex thing is really making me uncomfortable.
I can't imagine going through this sort of sex every day when we eventually get married and live under the same roof.
Very nice answer, however let me add that you also ask your own parents and hear what advice they have fir you except ofcourse if you didn't want them to know. Else just forget na who them introduce to you as Baba na him make you honour as Baba
satelliteDISH: This is a very tough one. The girls mother is very bitter. She has been nursing that bitterness all her life since she got pregnant. She doesn't want the man that got her pregnant and abandoned her to reap from the gains that come through the girl. That is her revenge. To her, that is justice served.
To go see the biological father might not go down well with your mother in law and she will hate you for this. Since your fiancee and her mother have disowned the man. They have acknowledged the step father as their father and husband, go and honour the step father with the necessary traditional items.
The biological father cannot come out of the blues and reap from where he didn't invest for over 20+ years of the girls life. It is an unfair trade.
hisexcellency34: Nigerians are evil to themselves. Immediately the new president made the announcement, all the fuel stations changed their prices
This thing we do to ourselves is wrong. See this attitude you see is how humans are wired and it only becomes a naija thing or black man issue because our own leaders like to always put the cart before the horse. I bet you that the difference in the so-called civilized world is that they will prepare the citizens for this take up and that includes the ensuring that all stakeholders are carried along and relevant agency of Govt to enforce compliant. Such is what is missing here no wonder everyone behaves like they are in a jungle.
Infact na you no get the issue well. Take time to read and diggest the fuel subsidy discussions before Buhari left office and you will understand. 1 thing I can say is that President Tinubu ought not to have said that. He ought to have assured Nigerians that he will remove fuel subsidy but with proper planning and go to work on that. His speech yesterday is what created the artificial scarcity and he ought to have known that too. Buhari hasn't removed fuel subsidy.
Bluntemperor: Nigerians and Fears! President Tinubu-said ' no Fuel Subsidies in the Budget ' meaning - Former President Buhari had removed it,since he was already increasing the Public Sectors Salaries and possibly Allowances,in order to accommodate the coming Fuel Subsidies removal, although,we don't know the extent of the Private Sector . Do you want Tinubu, to now create a new Budget for Fuel Subsidies ni? That shows to ALL NIGERIANS- that the Present NLC - who should have been negotiating with the outgoing Buhari govt since, were not on ground to see this changes coming! Is it now, they want to do that? Na wao! Some people are not proactive,at all!
What a shame? It is all I but during the two elections that brought you in for the first and second tenure you know how to use we, you always remember your vice was part of the mandate. Wicked betrayer now pish the good man aside. Well there is no glory to claim so take all the shame
https://twitter.com/Vash_Offo/status/1660702453648465927?t=iG_-zSFySZJMgg1RI7BOoA&s=08[/quote]Once again this writter believes it is only women that are seeing shege in marriage in Nigeria n therefore proposes that any divorce woman on the street did the right thing and should be applauded. Maybe we should add all Nigerian men are scum n don't deserve a wife plus the writer's father though
Do you have a better option for the man. Yes 20k is not enough n the helper already added 10k making it 30k which is a stipend for him while he learns a skill. Let's call black black abeg. He left the job without thinking of the brother and the helper. Someone he never knew before. He is a very selfish person who thinks about himself alone. Even if he wants to leave the place he should tell his kid bro first na. See even if it is job of 1 million, this kind of person will still mess it up
chimpad: Your brother may just be fine and right thinking like anyone else. He just lacks a good opportunity. What kind of employer pays someone 20k for a whole month in 2023? That's more than ridiculous and meagre! Was any contract signed as to when the pay will change and when his training will end? He as an employer assigned him to a client as soon as he resumed, meaning that isn't much of training. His schedule for work is 6 days a week, and probably 12hrs shift a day, for #20,000 ? Why do we think this is right? You did well trying to help your brother, but this opportunity might not be anything near good as it sounds. I'd expect to see the conversation you had with him, and his reasons for leaving . He doesn't like that offer, and he seems coerced to accept it in the first place.
What of those who are federal civil servants with monthy nhf deductions remitted to fmbn.

What was your experience trying to date or propose to deeper life or choosen ladies..
Those that ended up marrying from these denomination, how did it go with the marriage committee and the ladies attitude prior or beforehand.
Kindly share your experiences
Simple n direct questions n some people don get it twisted already. I haven't but I know those who has so my simple advise from you is to take a specific jotter or a diary with you each time you are meeting the marriage committee and take note of all advise and instructions. 2. Try to show how spiritual you are also but in doing this avoid complicating things or disagreeing with their way of doing things. That you don't like their system doesn't mean everything part of it is bad. 3. Compliment the good things you see and ask relevant questions. 4. With the lady always let her know how important the opinions of the both of you are in the marriage n not just about the pastors because you are going to start a home together, the pastors not included 5. You too get close to God and the word of God so that you will not be tempted. Let her, her family n everyone else around her see you as a child of God. 6. Plz if you are not a child of God leave them alone make you no pretend to marry church girl n come shock yourself o, not all church girls are bornagain o
I have taken time to read your writeup carefully n will suggest the following: 1. No society arrangement and institution of man is perfect n marriage is no exception. 2. You thought about Nigerian men are really low. 3. The saying ile oko, ile eko ni, actually didn't exactly mean what you suggested. This saying is used to depict the fact that the new home will be a school since there is no way that the lessons learnt from a woman's home can be exactly enough for the new home. And yes it is often focussed on the women because she is the one who is expected to be submissive and the man is expected to be the head. But in reality the both learn because the way a thing is done from the individual family will be different from what is required in the new home. 3. Yes women now work and we have infact seen more understanding in our today's marriage and this means that alot has and keep changing. 4. You single out the Nigerian man as if the iyibo woman doesn't cook for her home or takes care of her kids. 5. What about the women, nothing was wrong abi? What you did is call the horn effect (piking a small fact and blow it out of proportion)
Persephone1: "Marry a typical Nigerian Man at your own peril"
When I type these words, it's not from a place of hate towards men ( I don't hate anybody) It is from careful analysis of marriages to Nigerian Men which mostly lack genuine love, empathy and kindness. Nigerian Marriages are mostly driven by "needs" and "means" to an end. Too systematic and unnatural and the one with the highest bargaining chip gets the most benefit.
Our mothers didn't teach us enough about Men. They didn't know either until they got married, unfortunately they are still learning about Men too. That is why the popular saying "Ile oko ile eko ni" (Your husband house is a school) is usually the soothing balm to unfavourable experiences a wife has with her husband. One question I always ask myself when I hear these words as parting words of advice for young wife is. Does that mean she is getting married into a strange, unknown and possibly unfavourable world? Why represent her husband as an unending course? And will she ever graduate and be relieved of painful lessons?. Ask these women these questions and they will shake their heads in mockery but the truth is, They weren't taught enough about the Men they are getting married to. How would they when they didn't know who they are either. To understand another person there must be a certain level of self awareness you have reached yourself. This way you have enough level of intelligence to be a perfect judge of character. But when a woman believe all she needs to be is a good cook and good konji reliever then all she will seek is a man who has Kitchen and bed.
Men are the worst in this joke of an institution. Configured to believe all they need to posses is Financial ability to provide. The upbringing of the typical Nigerian Man is very very wrong. Trained with little to no empathy, kindness, self care, sense of belonging, self love but burdened with sense of responsibility brought up like a robot to "provide" only. Most Nigerian men are robotic minded, unable to connect emotionally without aide yet this men are expected to naturally see their brides as a part of themselves. Wishful thinking if you ask me. And when some men luckily achieve this, the society (Men and Women) mock him. Aside this, they don't readily know what they want and are easily tossed by the society.
We create a society devoid of emotional engagement but want the benefits emotions birth. Compassion and affections brings liberty, a man who lacks these will see his wife as his slave and property, he gets to do with her what he seem best and not what is good for her. We really have a long way to go as a Society.
Allow your son to defend himself please. I'll so teach my future kids how to defend themselves against any form of bully. Anyways they'll naturally take after me.
Can I ask who are you, that if the take after you case settle
Alexpeters: One of this administration biggest achievement. Could this be why our refineries are yet to function to its full capacity as they promised during the campaign years back ?
How is it their own achievement. 1. It was started before their tenure. 2. The PIB that was signed to law also predates this jokers.
What was the reason you accepted to take him in? Was he a student or artisian whose stay has something to do with time. Me: Kid bro we need to talk. Since the relationship between me n your sister fell apart you know I have remained nice just the way I am. She has moved on and I need to move in too and having you around is affecting me somehow. Pls plan how to relocate in a week or 2. I am sorry but try to understand me. I will always be your big brother but I need this space for now.
Megabig: Nigerians and pushing the worst of them all. Y’all will miss the current governor if Dino becomes governor, the extravagant Dino coupled with Atiku’s looting links.
What’s wrong with y’all? What governance experience does Dino have, what’s his lifestyle like?
Why are Nigerians fond of choosing the worst? Na wa
The currently Governor will be missed thank you. Everyone will be missed someday.
Kidney transplant is not something you just pick someone on the street for. There will be series of checks and test. I pity him as I would sny father out there. But as a naija politician I don't pity him, they deserve that and even worst.
Harrynight: The boy didn't know, they didn't explain to him fully, They hid him some things, There are many details of the case you don't know
The frequent WhatsApp conversations between Ekweremadu and the doctor during the process says it all.
That guy used them. I don't believe he didn't know or consented. He wanted to stay back and he used them to achieve his jappa dream. Think am well.
N3TRAL: At this point we cannot deny that the plethora of leniency pleas sent by prominent African individuals and organisations, in the form of letters posted to representatives of the British Government, influenced the court in tempering justice with mercy.
It's a fair conviction and sentence, especially, due to the fact that the case is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom brought under the Modern Slavery Act of 2015.
They'll become better Earth citizens when they complete their jail terms.
I hope that my pretty Sonia gets a legal donor and completes the transplant successfully before her parents are released.
I also wish the brave victim well and hope that he goes through a soothing integration into European culture and society. He is the Hero of the story.
.. there is an end to all things. It will not always work
WorldRichest: Okay. Walk over for APC. Yahaya Bello will show Dino pepper.
The Senatorial election that Dino contested the other time, na gun shots make Dino pick race. This time, nobody in Dino strong hold will vote. You will see what we call power. You saw how we did Lagos’s governorship election? Expect a more brutal thing. If you wan die, shook head nah
You are definitely not a civil servant. 80k ke! Even with the new increment there are people who started at gradlevel 2 or 3 n has gotten to their highest level without cert and still their salary after 25 years of service is less than 60k
Cmjarg: Most of you know nothing when they said 30k minimum wages it's mean basic salary, A level 1 of federal government staff earn nothing less than 80k monthly
