Aburi Accord was rejected for the following reasons:
1. It's proposals were not federalistic in content but all smelled of confederalism which all Nigerians (Igbos' inclusive) had voted against in the 1958 London Constitutional Conference in preference for federalism for the future Nigeria.

2. Nigerians were already used to and enjoying that federalism before Ironsi came and demolished it without consulting any of the duly elected representatives of the people but his handpicked and illegal Igbo dominated Constitution Review Committee headed by Nwabueze and Nwokedi.

3. Aburi Accord was an illegality which violated the civil service anonimity principle as unelected civil servants handpicked by equally unelected army officers produced it hurriedly. The only way to make laws for a people is through the representatives they choose by themselves and not through civil servants of the establishment and soldiers imposed on them.

3. Aburi Accord was an insult on our collective sensibility by those who, without our consent, had already destroyed our self made federal constitution which we were very much okay with and weren't complaining about.

If Ojukwu so much believed in federalism to the extent of making very extreme centrifugal proposals at Aburi, then why did he ever assist Ironsi, his brother, to destroy the federalism we all consensually began with?

You can't tell me federalism is bad for me, destroy it and replace it with unitary system, and later again you turn around and ask me to support you in bringing back the same federalism without explaining what later convinced you that federalism is now good for me. The disease of the average Igbo man is to assume that it takes only Yorubas to correctly situate the roots of Nigeria's woes on Ironsi's political misadventure. I am not Yoruba. If history is anything to go by, looting was introduced into Nigeria by Azikiwe, another Igbo man, who happened to be the first Nigerian to be indicted of fraud by the colonial authorities. So you Igbos' knew Obj and IBB looted Nigeria's destiny yet when the same IBB recycled the same OBJ later in 1999 you all chorused "Halleluya! The messiah has come". Then you proceeded to give him bloc votes? Isn't that a further confirmation that Igbos' have always been responsible for the choices and decisions which have always worsened Nigeria?

Ghana is a far smaller county than Nigeria hence had far less complex ethnic composition and divergent national interests. If with all that it still took them up to 30 years to completely right the wrongs of their fist military coup, by what logic do you assume that a more diverse and complex Nigeria could have reversed hers in a time shorter than Ghana's? Which one is Yoruba and their Fulani partners? Aren't Igbos the gultiest southern tribe of hobnobbing with Fulanis?
You seem unaware that a Yoruba man, Obasanjo, in an attempt to right Ironsi's blunders, made Professor Nwabueze, an Igbo man, head of the 1978 constitution drafting committee and in the end Nwabueze came out with a worse form of the kind of destructive recommendations he made to Ironsi in 1966 thus further destroying Nigeria. Is Nwabueze a Yoruba or Fulani?

Have you ever heard the proverb that it is far easier and faster to pull an edifice down than to build it? It takes less than 2 hours to pull down a building, but to rebuild it you have to spend many days clearing the rubbles first and then spend months or even years re-erecting the building proper.
Once Ironsi violated his solemn oath of office by taking power unconstitutionally and proceedings to subvert that very constitution he swore to protect and defend at all times and in all circumstances, he created in the mind of every citizen the perception that the system has failed hence can't be trusted to ever work for the common man, and from then on, Nigeria became a dog eat dog situation. If Ironsi had scapegoated the coup plotters by making them face firing squad, then proceeded to replace the slain regional premiers with their deputies, sworn in Alhaji Dipcharima to replace Balewa as dictated by the extant constitution, and returned to the barracks as a professional and career soldier; do you think any other stupid army would have ever again thought of plotting a coup let alone actually carry it out? Ironsi's scapegoating of Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, etc would have prevented mediocres who actually destroyed Nigeria, e.g. Gowon, Murtala Mohammed, Obasanjo, Shagari, Buhari, IBB, Shonekan and Abacha from ever rising to power. With how Ironsi handled the situation he created the perception that people could get away with crime provided they are friends of allies of those at the top. And you know that once people come to have that perception in any society, it is almost impossible to change it later on hence it leads to an unstoppable vicious cycle of greater crimes and more impunity. That exactly has been the scenario in Nigeria courtesy of Ironsi's pioneering example.

Humans are just terribly greedy and insatiable! Imagine Yorubas fighting tooth and nail to prevent an Igbo presidency after having an Obasanjo presidency, a Yemi Osinbajo vice presidency and even a Gbajabiamila house of reps speakership. It's really sad!

In all you still haven't been able to explain exactly how other tribes are preventing Igbo presidency.
In 1999 Alex Ekweme, an Igbo man, was the leading aspirant in PDP on account of having the highest score as per the PDP National Working Committee's listed criteria for primaries but IBB decided to change the tide against him for Obasanjo whom the Yorubas themselves didn't want and we're opposing his bid for presidency. In the end it was the Igbo section of PDP that worked with IBB to frustrate Alex Ekweme after IBB doled out millions from his stolen wealth in deployment for Obasanjo. Then the Igbos would later be the first tribe to openly endorse Obasanjo, whitewash him with accolades of patriotism detribalization, nationalism, unifier etc and declared him the best candidate to unite and move Nigeria forward. Fast-forward to 2003, Ojukwu created APGA with the foresight that it would enhance political cohesiveness among the Igbos in order that they would use it as a single platform of strength and negotiations with other regions. But Ojukwu himself contested twice for the apex office through APGA and couldn't receive votes from his own Igbo people whom he fought for and personally sacrificed his bright military and political career to lead the Biafra war. Till today, APGA has not been able to grow beyond Ojukwu's home Anambra State in Igbo land. In fact APGA has always faced existential threat in Anambra on account of the huge vote PDP receives all elections in Anambra which almost equal that of APGA.
In the build up to the 2015 election, the APC, in 2013, extended the olive branch to Igbos by way of asking that they bring APGA into the merger in order that if the APC won in 2015, it would automatically zone its 2023 ticket to the South East. But Igbos declined the offer, insulted APC with unprintable utterances like Demonic and satanic party, Islamist party, Alhaji Peoples Congress, Fulani terrorist Almajiri Party, OduaArewanistan Republic party, etc and vowed never to have anything to do with such a party. The few Igbos like Joe Igbokwe and Rochas Okorocha who viewed things differently back then and advised that Igbos accepted the olive branch offer from APC bacame eternally hated by their Igbo brothers who now labelled them Joeyorubakwe, Rochas Okorohausa, etc. They hated and spilled verbal venom on the people of any Southern state that voted for APC for governor, Senate, LGA chairmen, councilors, Federal House of Reps, etc. But today even while still terming and tagging APC as a demonic party of the Fulanis, they are asking the party to zone her ticket to them for fairness while not even talking about their beloved supposedly Christian PDP which has tactically zoned her ticket back to the Islamic, Jihadist, Arewanistan, Boko Haram, Almajiri and Terrorist North. Ohaneze leadership has written and published loads of articles on why Tinubu's ambition through APC will jeopardize the chances of Igbo presidency. But Ironically, when the financial leader of PDP in the person of Wike, a cousin of Ndigbo and
native of the SS Region with whom Igbos claim brotherhood, came out publicly and declared that he wouldn't mind PDP zoning her ticket to the North if that is the only workable strategy for the party to win the 2023 election, no single member of Ohaneze published any single article or issued any verbal denouncement of Wike the way they have been doing to Tinubu who is neither pursuing his ambition through PDP nor even talking of zoning within his own APC. With all the foregoing in hindsight, would it be honest on the part of anyone to keep insisting that Igbos are being deliberately shortchanged by other tribes? Igbos' search for fairness through securing the APC ticket is tantamount to a situation whereby a man hates a particular lady with passion yet he desperately wants to sleep with her all the same. It simply doesn't make sense at all. For fear of a repeat of the 2013 embarrassment the Igbo nation did to APC through the rejection of the olive branch offer, I don't see the party repeating the same mistake this time around except if it has no use for learning lessons from experiences.
Even if APC decides to commit that blunder, given how badly APC faired in the most recent elections of governorship and bye elections of House of Reps in Igbo land, it is clear to even a simpleton that Igbos will rather vote for a Fulani man which the PDP is likely to field against that Igbo man holding the APC ticket in addition to Northerners having huge reservations about Igbo presidency on account of how much Igbos have slandered, abused and scandalized them continuously for the past seven years.
In summary an APC presidential ticket in the hands of an Igbo man is as worthless as Zimbabwean Dollars.

While it is correct that youth alone does not make someone a good or great leader, the idea should be to elect good and (relatively) youthful leaders. Makes no sense to say “we’ve had some bad youths as leaders so we can’t ask for youthful leaders again”.

Going by the present narrative that Tinubu is close to 90 years, if you use that to calculate his age as of 1999 you would arrive at age 67. Now, is age 67 youthful to warrant your expectation that I include Tinubu in my citation of youthful governors in the age brackets 49 -44 with uneventful administrations? Moreover can you honestly place Tinubu's performance as Lagos Governor on the same score as Lucky Igbinedion's and James Ibori's who were far younger than him? My citation of these examples is to show that good governance has no correlation with age hence not about youthfulness or elderliness but about antecedents, principles, demonstrated commitment to genuine nation building, ideology, etc by the aspirant whether young or old.

The issue of 2015 had nothing to do with any Fulani slavery. Jonathan had broken the zoning arrangement by usurping the North's remaining 6 years of Yaradua and it wasn't going to augur well for the justice and equity which some sections of the South now talk about because the table has turned against them. So 2015 was all about righting a wrong caused by Jonathan's insistence of continuing with his thwarting of the zoning arrangement. If it was morally wrong for a section of the South to have supported the North back to power in 2015, then why are those who so opine now asking for zoning of presidency to the South? Had it been a case whereby Yaradua lived long enough to complete his 8 years on behalf of the North and a section of the South then worked with the North to have another Northerner succeed him thus denying the South of its actually and rightful turn based on the zoning as agreed ab initio, then this accusation of some section of the South working with Northerners to remove a "fellow" Southerner would have been morally valid.
You can't be using a stolen property and when your brother takes it away from you and hands it back to the actual owner, you begin to accuse him of being a teacherous brother. If that is treachery in your eyes, then your sense of honesty and moral propriety has to be questioned.

I personally don't fancy the idea of Oshiomhole going to represent Edo-North in the Senate because of the singular fact that he doesn't believe in restructuring as against the fact that that exactly is the panacea to nearly all the problems we have today as a country. With that he might be among those who will always vote against pro-restructuring motions and bills on the floor, However, all what Warrifirstborn has been telling you are naked truths. From his replies to you it is clear that he has lived long enough in Edo State hence knows much about the place.
Secondly, Oshiomhole didn't tell you that his birthday speech was his formal declaration to warrant your expectation of him declaring the vision and mission behind his ambition for Senate. This is only a very informal intimation of the public in an event as informal as a birthday celebration. Moreover he is yet to even buy the nomination form so why all these your expectations that smacks of putting the cart before the horse? When Oshiomhole wanted to contest governorship in 2007 he made the formal declaration after buying the AC nomination form, and then proceeded first to the Oba Palace to formally inform him of his ambition, stating his mission and vision right in front of the monarch and the media, and ask for his endorsement and support. What of Yahaya Bello who became Kogi Governor at age 45? Would you borrow him to govern your state? I don't really know where this sudden fixation about youthfulness came from. This country has largely been governed by the likes of IBB at 44, Gowon at 29, Murtala Mohammed at 36, Aguiyi Ironsi at age 42, Obasanjo at 38, Buhari at 41, Shagari at 56, Abacha at 48, etc and Nigeria is a tragedy today. So how come we are like this today if compulsory youthful governance is what progresses a country?

Please how exactly is Oshiomhole part of those who destroyed this country? This narrative of "those who destroyed this country' is beginning to lose meaning as nearly everyone has destroyed Nigeria in the eyes of youths who are themselves worse than those they criticize. What impacts have youthful persons like Yaya Bello, Dimeji Bankole, Lucky Igbinedion, James Ibori, etc made? Is it just about age or antecedents, principles, ideas, etc? The ruination of Nigeria didn't happen today. It actually started when under 30 years old military men like Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, etc misadventured into politics and then another youthful senior army officer, Aguiyi Ironsi at age 42, suspended our truly federal independence constitution and replaced it with this unitary document we grapple with today. That was the genesis of the decay in Nigeria and all those involved in the act were youths. With how Nigeria turned out to be courtesy of the 1966 intervention by myopic youthful army officers, hasn't hindsight shown us clearly that we would have been better off today if the elderly politians of those times like Balewa, Ahmadu Bello, Azikiwe, Awolowo, Dennis Osadebe, etc had just been allowed to continue with their allegedly corrupt government?

Almost all the roads he did as Governor in Edo State are nowhere to be found, substandard roads, Edo specialist hospital he built with state money, nobody knows the owner of that hospital till date.
Every average Nigerians are opportunists, for you to know them, give them political positions and see their actions.
We worship money in Nigeria and that will keep alot of Nigerians in the position they are now.
Politicians are gathering money now to buy votes, buy judges and buy lawyers to pursue their tribunal cases.

You lie! Oshiomhole's roads in Edo State are of very high quality and durability. You are obviously not from Edo State and you have never visited the place to see for yourself. Even his political foes don't argue about the quality of his projects. What they only complain about is the cost. And come to think of it, don't genuinely good products come at a high price? Oshiomhole's roads hardly develop failed portions. The 20km one he did in my LGA in 2010 and another 6 km one he even hurriedly did just three months to the end of his tenure are both totally devoid of failed portions till today unlike his succesor's whose merely two to three year old roads are full of failed portions. In addition to roads, Oshiomhole did quality renovation of primary and secondary schools that were left to decay for years both by the successive military administrations of the state and that of Lucky Igbinedion. There is hardly a village in Edo State in which Oshiomhole didn't renovate with state of the art building materials at least two primary schools and one secondary school. The greedy average Nigerian politician can't embark on the kind and scope of projects Oshiomhole undertook.
On the issue of cutting deals with Obasanjo as labour leader: this is a stale narrative which even Obasanjo himself has never alleged. Oshiomhole's reasons for always soft pedalling on those strikes was the fact that few days into the strike, some Nigerians would start complaining of untold hardship and start calling on him to call it off. You can't continue fighting for a people who are no longer interested in the fight. If you have ever led a mass action against any authority maybe in your locality, church, mosque, town union, etc, you will understand why Nigerians aren't worth fighting for and why our problem is us ourselves contrary to the narrative that the political elite is. Didn't people also accuse Ghani Fawhemi of asking them to come out into the streets in the name of protest against the Abacha Junta to get killed while his own children were overseas? Before calling off each of those NLC strikes Oshiomhole would always make a public speech in which he would anchor the call off on the complaints of the masses about hardship and no one could ever really fault him on that.
Oshiomhole didn't run an expensive campaign for governorship in 2007 hence he was easily rigged out by the financial war chested Tony Anenih lef-PDP and the same Obasanjo you claim he had been cutting deals with. Recall that Obasanjo imposed Osunbor for reasons of:
1. Osunbor being his in-law on account of being from same community with Obasanjo's late wife Stella.
2. trying to reward Osunbor, for as Edo Central senator, floating his evil third term plot on the floor of the Senate.

So how could Obasanjo have rigged the 2007 election against Oshiomhole whom he had supposedly been cutting deals with as NLC president? Does that make sense?

Even now that Obaseki is peppering him in PDP and the scales falling off Edo people's eyes over the fraudulent and deceptive anti-godfatherism campaign, he is still stuck in a long expired euphoria. PDP is currently in shambles in Edo State as Obaseki is plotting to conduct LGA elections suddenly and install his loyalists from APC in the 18 councils, Wike is appologising, Dan Orbih is regretting, Ogbeide Ihama's political career is on the verge of permanent death etc all because of the PDP's decision to allow Obaseki in its fold two years ago. And the worst of all is that virtually nothing is happening in Edo State as per governance. No meaningful ongoing projects unlike Oshiomhole's time when giant infrastructural projects littered every LGA. All we hear everyday now is talk talk and grammar from Osadebe House.

IN MY OPINION, THE STRUCTURE OF THIS COUNTRY IS DEFECTIVE

I have been saying it too that Nigeria's problem is not leadership but the faulty structure which makes nonsense of any person's leadership talents. Nigeria is like a car with a faulty engine which if a professor of driving is made to be on its steering, he is bound to appear as an amateur driver when driving it.
The only time majority of Nigerians agree that Nigeria ever actually worked was before 1951 and 1966 when we practiced the correct structure of true federalism and resources control. Logically therefore, it follows that if we are sincere in our desire for a better Nigeria than what we currently have in our hands, we must deemphasize this narrative of voting for the right person or youthful leadership and focus on restoring true federalism first.

As deputy Senate president to Saraki, rather than exploit that opportunity of influence to sponsor a bill to that end and lobby Saraki to do all his humanly possible best to float the bill and see it through, he wasted all the time aiding Saraki in fighting the executive arm of government not even for any people oriented reason. Now that the opportunity and influence is out of his hands, he suddenly remembers his SE region needs an extra state. Clown!

This is the most sensible comment on this thread. I have been waiting to see if any one of the commentators will remember this simple fact but nay! This only further confirms my position that the average Nigerian sufferers short memory, lacks the capacity for deep and critical thinking hence very gullible and therefore vulnerable to inanities and easily taken for a ride. How supposedly educated persons on this thread think Jonathan will fly the flag of any party against an existing constitutional amendment which disqualifies him from ever seeking presidency is what I find amusing. It only shows how powerful sentiments are over reason in Nigeria.

The Ikweres migrated from Biniland according to Wike and the Oba of Benin.
The support Wike gave to Obaseki was a 'brotherly support' as a Benin-Ikwere man.

I agree with you fully on Binis voting for Wike but I doubt Oba of Benin has ever made any statement on the said Bini origin of Ikwerre.

I can't believe that this same Wike whom Ipobians and the average Igbo man were all here celebrating to high heavens, bathing in accolades of ideal bold and fearless leader, titled him the Lion of the Niger Delta, called him My Governor My Governor, etc beginning from 2015 just because he was antagonistic to Amaechi out of sympathy for Jonathan's self inflicted defeat, has become an Agbero, drunken cultists, tyrant, Idi Amin, uncouth, evil, wicked and not fit to even be governor of Rivers State let alone Nigeria in the eyes of the same Ipobians who even now seems to have come to prefer over Wike the same Amaechi they hated with a passion and wished him eternal disgrace, damnation, downfall and would derogatorily label him as The Lizard of Ubima.
This life, as they say, isn't balanced at all.
Some of us have always been vindicated for our stands that playing politics of hate, extreme emotions and rabid ethno-regional sentiments makes one appear stupid, unstable and unintelligent over time.
As at 2015, if I were ever told that a time would come when there would be a role reversal between Amaechi and Wike as per the perception of these two men in the eyes of the Igbo, I could have bet with a million Naira that such could never happen in this life or even in eternity. But here I am today seeing it before my eyes.

Are you aware of the facts that:
1. A substantial number of persons in Edo State welcomed and celebrated Wike's verbal onslaught on Obaseki, hence no individual or group in the state, except only Obaseki himself, has published any rebuttal against Wike?

2. In the whole SS, Edo State has the highest percentage uncollected PVC?

3. In the SS, Edo State usually records the least voter turnout percentage despite being third in terms of voter register strength?

If you consider all these, you won't be doing this shakara you are trying to do to Wike's ambition on behalf of Edo State.

But the far worse and gory Odi and Zakibiam massacres of over 5000 innocent civilians didn't stop Obasanjo from being the first choice of even the SS and NC regions in which those massacres happened. Even the LGA in which Odi is located in Bayelsa was swept clean by Obasanjo in 2003. Same with the Benue LGA where Zakibiam is.

First of all, I am not Yoruba. Secondly, your reply is diversionary and therefore stands as an evidence that you admit to lying in the comment of yours I replied to.
Thirdly, Igbos are the biggest victims of use and dump. Check the the instances below:
1. Azikiwe went into the ideologically bankrupt NPC-NCNC alliance with Hausafulanis at independence thinking he will later be able to outsmart them and rise on their backs to become prime minister but at the end of the day he was only used by Balewa to strengthen Akintola in the West and at the end of the day Akintola removed all his Igbo associates from Western positions while he got dumped by Balewa who conducted the 1962 census which gave the Eastern Region the lowest numbers and therefore created more MP seats in the North and that is what has metamorphosed to Igbos' having the fewest states today while all other regions have at least six.

2. Despite coming back to his senses in 1965 and shamefully accepting the UPGA all-South alliance which he initially rejected in pursuit of partnership with Hausafulanis, he would dump the UPGA again for the Akintola-Balewa NNA coalition, and when things still didn't favour him there, his attempt to use his position to stop Balewa's inauguration for second term failed as the army made him realize that he was just a figure head.

3. Ironsi took power through the backdoor and began to please Hausafulanis by keeping southern political prisoners in detention while releasing their Northern counterparts. He made Gowon his Chief of Staff and Theophilus Danjuma his ADC thinking he was pleasing Northerners, but in the end he was killed by Danjuma and Gowon took his place after Danjuma and co threw his body away on a roadside in Ibadan like the corpse of a common criminal.

4. Alex Ekweme slaved for Shagari but in the end when he was the most qualified for PDP ticket in 1999, Northerners dumped him and gave it to Obasanjo a Yoruba stooge of theirs.

5. The PDP has used Igbos' in the last 23 years to be the first to endorse all their candidates from other regions without having any Igbo as running mate while the party lasted in power. Now that the party has no excused not to zone her ticket to the SE, it came up with the slogan that the only way to wrest power from the APC is to throw it open so Atiku can get it as a Northerner.

Yet you still see other regions as worst hit by the use and dump Nigerian politics?

Was Obasanjo whom Igbos' voted massively for presented by the Yorubas? Was IBB who drafted Obasanjo into the race and lavished N110m on his campaign a Yoruba man?
Didn't Yorubas openly declare in 1999 that Obasanjo wasn't their candidate but that of the Northern Oligarchy who only picked him not because they believed he had anything to offer as per good governance but because of their twin desire to have a Southern stooge in power hence a reward for frustrating his own Yoruba brother for the benefit of Shagari a Fulani man in 1979? And wasn't that the very reason Igbos got attracted to the ambition of Obasanjo?
Igbos' don't do eye service but when Festus Odimegwu told a bitter truth about the falsification of census figures which the unjust revenue distribution formula is based, Jonathan sacked him as NPC chair to the applause of Igbos'. Likewise, when Ogbulafor took a principled stand against Jonathan's impending violation of the PDP zoning arrangement in 2011, Jonathan cooked up allegations of corruption to nail him and push him out of PDP chairmanship to the approval of silence by Igbos. That disruption of PDP zoning arrangement is partly responsible for the ticket of the party not going to the SE till today.
As far as records are concerned, there was none of Jonathan's wrongs Igbos publicly denounced.

What of when Jonathan was speaking against State Police and prescribing no-go areas for the 2014 confab? Is there any record of Ohaneze carpeting him for that. They either applauded it or maintained conspiratorial silence even when the South South and individuals of his own Ijaw ethnicity summoned the moral courage to denounce his anti-people position on very many sensitive issues. So much for a people who don't do eye service.

So Igbos' didn't shock you in 1999 when Northerners recycled a scion of corruption and perfect example of everything wrong with Nigeria to contest under PDP and Igbos campaigned vigorously for him with slogans of 'he is detribalized, born again, patriotic and nationalistic in outlook; and then went further to give him bloc votes against the democrat, youthful, fresh, unblemished and totally oligarchy-disconnected Olu Falae whom Yorubas presented for the job?
So after setting our foot on the way to recycling old corrupt men in 1999 and argued that such is the only way to win elections in Nigeria, you Igbos' now want to suddenly dictate when we should go off that path and return to the path of sense which you refused to take at the most important moment in 1999 when it was most imperative to have started well in order to avoid the calamity in which we find ourselves today? I agree with you that no one should be comfortable with godfatherism but with Obaseki's activities within Edo PDP now as confirmed by the acknowledgement and publicly tendered appology of Wike of all persons, shouldn't it be clear now that his accusation of godfatherism against Oshiomhole was only an attempt to connect himself to the sympathy of the relatively ignorant electorate as a way to divert attention from his non-performance query by the APC which gave him ticket for first term on the assumption that he was in the best position to continue with Oshiomhole's legacy of quality and fundamentally impactful projects like interstate roads and frenzied spate schools renovation. One would have expected Edo State to by now be a giant site of ongoing high quality infrastructural projects given the narrative that the lions and tigers sucking Edo State resources have now been cut off. But alas! The reverse is the case. Abandoned poor quality first term projects in every LGA. Wike attacks him while commissioning his own projects in Rivers State but he would waste Edo State tax payers moneys to reply Wike in the papers because he has no projects to commission and use as an opportunity to reply Wike. Oshiomhole, in his time, would also reply Edo PDP's criticisms while commissioning projects but all that is history now in the era of a supposed technocrat.
If Oshiomhole actually wanted to act godfather and continue living on Edo State resources as alleged by Obaseki, wouldn't Oshiomhole have, like it had already been done in Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Zamfara, Delta and many other states by his contemporary governors; sponsored a bill to the Edo State House of Assembly for creation of post - office pension, allowances and salaries for ex-governors, ex-deputy governors and ex-speakers? But we all remember that Oshiomhole rejected the idea when it was suggested to him back then and never signed the bill into law.

What else do you expect from a state that a confirmed thief and a convicted criminal is the godfather choosing who will be a governor and who wouldn't? Even the speaker of that very state house of assembly is kneeling for the confirmed looter to become his anointed one. Delta and Bayelsa state are the scales of measurement of how corrupt a state is in the south-south. Like someone said how I wish we can borrow Adams Oshiomole to be our governor even for just a tenure. In Delta, state people look up to yahoo boys even more than the state government.

I thought Deltans should be wishing to borrow Obaseki as governor since a lot of them were on his side accusing Oshiomhole of corruption, demand for sharing of state's resources, and godfatherism in the build up to Edo 2020 guber election?

Exactly. In 1999 we prefered Lucky Igbinedion whose only campaign point was that he used to gift his salary to market women while he was Oredo LGA chairman. And the Lucky Imasuen who campaigned with a workable and realistic manifesto anchored on harnessing the natural and human resources of the state for sustainable economic diversification couldn't even get up to 25% of the votes. Then right in the face of Lucky's monumentally failed first term acknowledged publicly by his own biological father, we voted massively again for him for a second term. Then the Oshiomhole who put forward a far better campaign in 2007 had to struggle to get a slight margin of victory over Osunbor that was imposed on the state by Obasanjo an Ogun State native. Then Obaseki with his first term failure got reelected for a second term on emotions. Edo State has a very long way to go considering the kind of sentiments which guide voters' choices.
