Blue3k:Buhari was never at any time against decentralization of the police. It was the PDP that created that impression through the false narrative that he was against it so as to clear the coast for Fulani Herdsmen expansionist match to the Atlantic Ocean yet the same PDP itself never approved state police. In fact Jonathan never missed an opportunity to clearly state his aversion for state police on the rather shallow and frivolous excuse that it would be abused by governors for political heist. |
Balyz:Don't mind them. The same people who truncated a perfectly working and peaceful democracy, got to power through the back door, and peace left Nigeria till today on account of that action are trying to make us believe that their rule can restore that very peace they took away from us. |
Chibuking81:The bolded couldn't have been better said. When the CBN under SLS was pumelling Bank PHB, Afribank and Spring Bank; the innocent shareholders who were even in the right, publicly demanded fair hearing and specifically called on the sitting president GEJ to intervene. Who answered them? Na today story start? Fair hearing is very alien to the Nigerian system. What we have is fear hearing.... meaning that those in charge of affairs only fear and abide by orders from above. |
aremso:I wish I could like this 100 times. That inner voice always points out an opportunity to get out of a stock which is showing signs of failure as per one's objective of getting in in the first instance, but the fear of losing a little percentage of one's capital (Capital Preservation) is usually why people disobey that voice and they end up accumulating far bigger loses or even losing their investments when news of stories that touch eventually break about the company. I have always maintained that stock investment on NSE should be approached like Nigerian politics which is highly characterized by jumpology hence there are neither friends nor enemies on permanent basis but permanent interest which is to make money, thus as soon as one sees that the party (i.e a stock) one belongs to no longer supports one's overriding and ultimate ambition of making money, one should defect to the next available stock which holds out a better opportunity for one to realize his ambition especially before primaries. |
paulcr7:It is the acronym for Jump in Jump out which is used to mean buying a stock with the purview of holding it for the shortest possible term thus selling as immediately as profit is sighted. In more formal language, it is called bargain hunting. |
Yayira:NSE is indeed an anomalous market. I recall some years back when news hit the public that the embattled James Ibori was being probed by EFCC over Delta State's ownership of OANDO shares and within few days afterwards the stock fell from N13+ to about N8, and then in the next batch of days it flew back to N14 when another mitigating news followed. |
Jejebabaa:Would you really call it stupidity? It was sheer ignorance founded on inexperience and newness to the IPO world. |
Jejebabaa:That was when the advert jingle was 'Strike oil'. See the rushing of that public offer back then! |
Yayira:Unfortunately I don't have solution as I stopped hunting dividends since 2013 due to the fact that dividend hunting problems seem 'solutionless'. You saw the comment in which I recently expressed ignorance on the relocation of EDC Registrars. That tells you how far away I have become from dividend world. |
Yayira:What you painted above is not JIJO but GA. A professional JIJOist uses a combination of TA, FA and SA, and any stock could be used. For example, look at ETI which delivered 30% for JIJOists with this week alone, JAPAUL also gave 36% for JIJOists between last week and this week. Those who condemn JIJO are usually not thrilled by such low percentage profits but aim at 100% or even more on a stretch. A dyed-in-the-wool JIJOists doesn't even mind a percentage profit of 5% net of the broker's fees. |
Those saying JIJO is not a strategy are just amusing me. In an irrational market which could last longer than your liquidity, JIJO is the best strategy. I will not go into details. |
GonFreecss1:Could you throw more light on the bolded? is it doable on NSE? You know I am for any strategy that will bring me quick profits in the shortest possible term. |
maryjames9:He simply is trying to say that if you are out of the market, green days make you unhappy while red days massage your ego. |
Yayira:A very deadly truth about NSE. |
OBAGADAFFI:You mean they've left Onipanu? Really, it is not a bad registrar at all. They are responsive. I recall how they, through a mere phone call, promised to look into my dividend issue with them in 2014 and within a week the money hit my account without me ever stepping foot there. |
NaMeAboki:The whole of the current Benue State and Kogi East Senatorial District were part and parcel of the Southern Protectorate but gerrymandered to the North by the Colonial masters in collusion with the Northern Protectorate political elite who always feared the superior population strength of the Southern Protectorate. These two areas have however not lost their pro-South political orientation hence are not actually part of the North in the ideal sense as they were stolen by the fearful North. NaMeAboki:The gerrymandering of present Benue and Kogi East Senatorial District into the North shows that the North started this whole game of circumventing rules of the democracy game hence set the stage for all you accused the South of as above. Recall that the 1966 Coup, wrong in principle as it was, didn't just happen but was triggered off by the North's use of brazen daylight rigging of the 1965 federal elections in the Western Region and Balewa's undemocratic interference in the supposedly 100% internal affairs of the region like the dubious state of emergency, the reinstatement of Akintola without an election thus circumventing the Western Region constiution which mandated otherwise, the harrassment of AG members just because they were poised to vote out the North's ally in a free and fair election, etc....these are acts which were in themselves dubious means by which the North tried to retain power at all costs knowing fully well that it didn't really have the phantom numerical strength. The results of the 1959 election showed it clearly that the South could have produced the Prime Minister without the North if all Southern parties had come together, but for Azikiwe who sold out to the North's NPC that came a distant third position in terms of popular vote. So which population superiority of the North are you talking about? Why couldn't Buhari ever win until 2015 when a Southern Region backed him up? The Zoning and rotational presidency agreements are things of the PDP...a party formed by the Katsina Mafia, and are more or less like the quota system which we all know is a concession in the interest of the North which can't compete favorably on a level playing field. Please note that the genuinely Southern parties like AD - later ACN, APGA, Labor Party and the rest don't have zoning or rotational agreement in their ideologies. Only the PDP created by Northerners has such and even a military wing as recently confessed to by IBB. NaMeAboki:The results of the election that brought Jonathan in clearly showed that once he had all the South behind him, he didn't need more than just Benue and Kogi East (which were stolen from the South) to get victory. Contrary to your claim, the North didn't even want Jonathan to contest. When Jonathan insisted on doing so, the North came up with Atiku as their consensus candidate but he lost the PDP primaries to Jonathan despite that. The Buhari whom the North declared support for in a bid to assert their phantom population superiority also lost to Jonathan hence the North took to post election violence reeling from the shame therein. His loss in 2015 was mainly due to his rejection by the SW which avenged his ingratitude to them. The North introduced politics of parochialism and tribal lines judging from the facts that Ahmadu Bello never campaigned to the South and was openly loathsome of Igbos, and that the North came up with the born to rule philosophy in a supposedly democratic environment in which governance was of everyone, for everyone and by everyone rather than for only one section of the country arrogating to themselves the right to power. I ask you again, mention a single Northerner who became president without support from at least a section of the South. I am waiting. |
Iriruaga100:Being on ground in Edo is different from being on ground in Benin alone. Binis might be favorably disposed to PDP as Ize Iyamu of the PDP got most of his votes from Benin areas. But this does not go for all parts of Edo. |
SocialJustice:Well, as things stand now, if APC dumps him and he defects to PDP, he is likely to lose because the average Edo voter has not and will never forgive Edo State PDP for Lucky Igbinedion's historic misrule and monumental milking dry of the state for the revival of his father's businesses. If on the other hand he goes to another party, he could likely win, and Edo State will be changing party for the second time. |
SocialJustice:If you give Oshiomhole Delta State to govern, he will likely concentrate only on the three Warri LGAs and Oshimili where the capital is, and I am sure you won't like it. This is why a lot of Edo people now resent him. If you go to Owan East and West LGAs, and Akoko-Edo, you will start asking whether those were parts of Edo State which Oshiomhole governed. Ironically these LGAs share boundaries his own Etsako West. But Obaseki, an Oredo man, is currently touching every LGAs more attention dedicated to the 14 neglected by Oshiomhole. During Oshiomhole's reign, communities lobbied him for projects and he snubbed them. But Obaseki takes projects to remote communities without anyone going to visit him in Osadebey Avenue to complain first. I can count at least ten roads Obaseki has done in my community without anyone lobbying him. He has even just completed the repair of a federal road neglected for donkey years by the FG. Though he too is not immune to shortcomings and poor judgement on some issues. |
SocialJustice:Throughout his eight year tenure, Oshiomhole only concentrated attention on four LGAs and only extended gestures of tokenism to the remaining 14. The LGAs which received most of his projects are Oredo, Ikpoba-Okah, Egor and his native Etsako West LGA. Delta Governors don't discriminate like that in spreading projects even though they might not be doing much of them as you suggest. Moreover, Delta State's civil service wage burden is too heavy hence the state hardly has anything left for capital projects after paying salaries. This is in addition to the fact that the terrain in the state is mostly coastal hence infrastructural projects like roads gulp more funds than they would in Edo which is more inland. Okowa in a speech in 2017 lamented the crippling wage bill of Delta. |
GonFreecss1:If you want to see and catch a bull ish market, behave like one. Lol. |
Yayira:I hardly open all those forecast links. |
maishai:Analyses only confuse those who rely 100% on them as guide to investment decisions. |
NaMeAboki:Why not address the poser he put to you? |
NaMeAboki:Contrary to your nebulous North's population superiority theory, the actual and only advantage the North has over the South is the perennial political antipathy between the Igbos and Yorubas which creates the Southern disunity that the North has always taken advantage of since independence. Has any Northern candidate ever won presidency without a political alliance with or support from at least a section of the South? The answer is a big No. But on the contrary, a Southerner Jonathan won in 2011 when all the South with just one or two Middle Belt united behind him with only the Core North against him. In actual fact the North is no match for a united South hence the North always does everything possible to keep alive and even deepen the Yoruba-Igbo enmity and prey on it in every election cycle. |
Agbalowomeri:Na so cold catch me too when I see TA nuggets from Peterichy o! E no get wetin bear season no fit cause. |
tritritri:Okay. I now get your drift. |
robobo:You are totally correct. May God help us to help ourselves in this country. |
tritritri:Tritritri, don't tell me you are getting CHARMED! Chai! In this market, whoever tells you he abides strictly to his investment principles has never really made a chain of loses from those principles. Hmmmmm! Tritritri and CHAMS? |
GonFreecss1:That is why I personally find it difficult to believe that EFCC has ever really fought corruption since it was created in 2004/5. Imagine it leaving the main body of the issue and chasing the shadow as if MTN's alleged abracadabra listing didn't go through SEC in the first instance. |
Krisuba:Unfortunately that is Nigeria for you and you won't blame anyone. Yours sincerely too once looked for banking job with a certificate in medical studies in my hands. I also once went for Virgin Atlantic Airlines crew members recruitment interview held in Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja. There is simply no professional functionalism in Nigeria because we all went to school to get certificates with the purview to securing a 'decent' source of livelihood rather than to contribute our knowledge gained therein to the actual betterment of the society. |
Ugosample:It is your level of education and enlightenment that got you to understand that there is really no benefit in having one's regions' elites in appointments while the common man in the recipent region doesn't feel the impact of the government. For the typical Northern youth, there can be no greater political benefit than having a Northern moslem in power just for the sake of it. You may wonder how Buhari's stint as Military HOS benefited them to warrant their rooting for him in 2015 and again in 2019. You may wonder whether IBB shared with any of them his mountainous loots from the national coffers as Military HOS to warrant all of them sheepishly accepting his annointed Obasanjo in 1999, etc. That is how the mind of the Northern youth works hence a Jonathan in power trying to please them with very expensive infrastructural and social projects at the detriment of his own home region couldn't get their approval because he was not a Northern moslem. All those Southern elites like Zik, MKO, Ironsi, Edwin Clark, etc who sacrificed southern interest to please the North failed to actually please them. Some of them like Ironsi and MKO did not even live to tell the story. Now, why did Jonathan, with hindsight at his disposal, believe his own case was going to be the exception hence tried to do the same thing others before him tried and failed? |
