MetaPhysical: These people have a deficient understanding of the characters that occupy leadership. They guzzle the bullshyyte fed to them by ambitious journalists with aim to engineer and suppress independent thought. The same journalists sold Atiku as a "detribalised" Nigerian, simply for chopping tribal pussy all over Nigeria. ....but Atiku preserves his own daughters (he has well over a dozen) exlusively for Arewa and steers them away from infidels in South. detribalized indeed! They are very suceptible to brainwashing thus easily believe the exact opposite of what they see with their own eyes. The biggest political fraud is the crediting of anyone with detribalization. In addition to your revelation about Atiku's dubious detribalization credentials, the same Atiku generated the idea which led to the setting up of EFCC and had the offer of pioneer chairmanship of the commission offered to a fellow Adamawan in the person of Nuhu Ribadu's father who declined it on account of old age. Then Atiku dropped it on his son's laps as if it was a hereditary position. On top of that he positioned Ibrahim Lamorde, another Adamawan, as Nuhu Ribadu's deputy, with many other most important positions in the hands of Northerners such that till today EFCC has never been headed by a Southerner and never likely to be. So much for a detribalized and liberal Atiku. |

Godlylifeoneart: Good morning folks, Have you been asked by a good friend for a financial rescue? Then read dz from financialfreedominspiration.com
Before borrowing money from a friend, decide which you need most. —AMERICAN PROVERB Money and friendship often do not mix very well, like drinking and driving. Money can part the best of friends, and can even sour sibling relationships in some instances. That is one of the first lessons you learn if you are a fan of Judge Judy. The borrower feels the lender should be more understanding or even write off the debt entirely especially when the borrower feels the lender is relatively much better off financially than the borrower. The lender feels used and being taken for granted.
Owing a friend can be awkward, especially when the debt is past due. You start to feel uncomfortable and start offering excuses even when none is demanded. Soon you begin to avoid each other.
Abuse of friendship
Borrowing money from a friend is an abuse of friendship. There is inherent emotional blackmail in the demand – if you love me, you will help, which means if you don’t, then you don’t care. That is subtle manipulation, trying to make the other party feel guilty. Some friends borrow with no intent to pay back. They feel the money is one of their fringe benefits from the friendship.
If we cut our coat according to our cloth, there will be hardly the need to put pressure on our friends to lend us money. There are genuine emergencies whereby a good friend will gladly give without an expectation of getting repaid.
It is the job of banks to lend money
Banks are in the business of lending money to the public. They have the funds and the personnel with the experience to evaluate risks. Banks do not care about your feelings. If you are creditworthy, they will give you credit. If you go to them with a hare-brained idea, they will politely decline no matter how you feel.
It is unfair to ask a friend to risk his savings on your business venture. He cannot analyze the risks even if his life depended on it. The best place to get a loan for a business startup is to borrow from your savings or from a bank and not from a friend (unless he is a willing investor). Such money often does not come back. Your friend is often not bold enough to say “No, this plan is rubbish, I am not ready to risk my money on this”. Rather, he will swallow his apprehension and give you his hard-earned money (hoping and praying that you know what you are doing), so as to avoid being seen as a dream killer or not wishing his friend well.
Lack of forward planning
Some people simply do not plan ahead. They operate on a pay as you go basis. Some look for money to borrow to pay maternity hospital bills, you begin to wonder if the baby dropped from the sky. Babies give 9 months notice, enough time to plan ahead and get everything ready. You would expect anyone who is not ready to shoulder the responsibility of a new baby to locate the nearest family planning clinic.
Some borrow to pay for expensive private schools, hoping and praying as they go along. When you borrow to pay the first term school fees, what about the second and third term? Is it sustainable? Is there any end in sight? You simply drive away the few gullible friends you have through bad debts.
Protection from predatory borrowing
To protect themselves from predatory borrowing by friends, folks have adopted some methods. I call the first method the inoculation method. You lend an amount to your friend knowing fully well he will default. With that bad debt as a barrier, the debtor friend is not bold enough to come to ask for another loan, knowing he has not paid back the last one. That first loan acts as an inoculation to give immunity to the lender – to protect him from further lending requests, and peace returns to the planet. The debtor friend is forced to go look somewhere else. Mission accomplished. This method is not foolproof. Some friends still come back for more loans nonetheless.
The second method is the gift method. A friend comes to you to ask for an N200K loan, you let her know you don’t have that type of money lying idle, so you chip in N20K as a gift. If she comes back a second time and ends up with another gift, she will get the message. She will either not come back again, or knows full well all she can get is another gift, which she may very well come back for. When the gift reduces in amount each time she returns, that becomes a disincentive to keep asking.
The third method is a flat out no, sometimes backed with a gift. Few have the courage to put their foot down this way, as they may not want to hurt the borrower’s feelings.
Giving with wisdom
This is not to say you cannot help a friend in need. We are to help others to the best of our ability. However, it is unwise to help others at the expense of our financial stability, especially if it is not a medical emergency. At aircraft preflight safety briefings, you are advised to put on your oxygen mask first in the event of a sudden drop in cabin pressure before you help others. If you are panting for breath yourself, you put both lives in danger. If you are not an expert swimmer, attempting to help a drowning man may result in two fatalities. The best thing to do is to call for help.
When you keep giving handouts to a friend or keep funding half baked ideas, you are weakening your friend, not strengthening him. By feeding him fish, you are weakening his drive to learn how to fish. You are helping and abetting financial illiteracy. If you keep helping long enough, both of you will go down, then he will go look for a new helper to pull down also.
We need sound judgement, common sense and a dose of financial literacy to be able to handle money especially when it comes to helping friends and family. Part of our monthly budget should include giving – tithes, charity, friends and family in need etc. Taking care of our aged parents is a responsibility which is not optional. However, whenever a friend wants to turn you to a bank or ATM machine, you need to decide which you need most, as money and friendship do not mix very well. Very insightful. |

It is obvious your claims about Yaradua are products of default propaganda aimed at political correctness. Yaradua was a big ethnic champion and religious bigot. You have forgotten that he was among the first governors who signed Shariah into law in their respective states in the North in 2000. The same Yaradua was busy chasing Niger Delta militants with JTF for allegedly posing a security risk while his own tribe's militia (Fulani Herdsmen) were having a field day unharrassed by his government. The same Yaradua appointed his Kinsman, Rilwan Lukman, as Petroleum minister despite that one had no cognate qualification or experience. I can go on and on. |

But I get no answer. The problem of the average Southerner is his belief in white collar job hence you hear some of them say that if Northerners hold back their food and meet, the South will starve. It is only in an abnormal country like Nigeria that those living in the fertile forest region would fear that they can be starved of food by those living in the relatively barren and desert region. What an irony. Some Southerners are pure fools. |

But till now nothing like that and not likely to ever happen as many other cases where murderous Fulanis were caught and given jungle justice in Edo State have not recorded any such reprisal. In essence there is no longer any basis for such feeling especially in the South where they really don't have permanent houses hence can't really find a place to regroup and plan without being found out again through the intelligence gathering of the local vigilantees who have proven to be far more effective than the over centralized police. |

Mpeace: I think foreign investors are waiting for the outcome of the presidential election petitions. Not just the PDP case. The most dangerous case against buhari's election happens to come from the relatively unknown PDM. The party is claiming to have been unlawfully excluded from the ballot paper. If previous supreme court decisions on the exclusion of a party, are anything to go by, then we might just be facing the prospects of a rerun. Foreign investors might want to wait for the outcome of all of these. Atiku's similar case in 2007 against Yaradua was more solid than what the PDM has now against Buhari but the courts still found a way to give it to Yaradua. Unless the present Electoral Act is thrown away completely and an entirely new one is drafted by delegates in the mould of Mohammed Uwais, I don't foresee the Supreme Court annuling the results of any presidential election however bad. The foreign investors should be aware of this. However, the mere fact that we are hopeless when foreign investors are out only means that we are yet to address the fundamentals of economic growth. |

LordFaraday: WHAT BIAFRANS WILL NEVER TELL YOU ABOUT THE REAL CAUSE OF THEIR WOES IN NIGERIA TODAY:
The Igbo man is known to enjoy blaming the Hausafulanis, Yorubas and indeed every other Nigerian tribe and Lord Luggard/Britain for their third class citizen status of Nigeria. In their perpetual attempts to a play the victim card, they recount the political events of Nigeria from 1914 to the present in a half-baked and highly selective manner which cleverly avoids the mention of the roles played by their elite who by all natural laws of judgement were actually responsible for the woes that befell not only the Igbo race but the entire Nigeria. The story told in the post above is one of such selective and distorted accounts of history which the average Igbo man is fond of.
Why Gowon fought against Ojukwu's declaration of Biafra was as follows: After Ironsi and Ojukwu successfully crushed Isaac Boro's Niger Delta Republic declaration, Ironsi immediately proceeded to promulgate the Anti-secession Decree which made the mere mention of secession from Nigeria punishable with death by hanging. Ojukwu openly supported and endorsed the decree despite disapproval of it by the general public. So when Ojukwu later declared Biafra secession, he was reminded of the Anti-secession Decree made by him and his brother Ironsi. Deadly Truth: Igbos frequently reference Aburi Accord to create the impression that the rest Nigerian tribes don't honour agreements. This is a very dishonest narrative from Igbos. First and foremost Aburi Accord was organized by soldiers and unelected civil servants who should not participate in political exercises like making laws due to the civil service anonymity principle. Secondly, those civil servants and military men in attendance were not elected by their federal constituencies to the Aburi summit. In the philosophy of democracy the only universally acceptable way of making laws is through duly elected representatives of the people. But in going to Aburi the peoples' representatives duly elected in the 1965 elections were all sidelined for soldiers to hijacked the process. Where on earth do soldiers make laws for the people? Rather the civilian populace makes laws that guide the military. Aburi Accord therefore had no seal of the people's sovereignty hence it was an illegality which shouldn't have been allowed to stand. Thirdly, in 1957, Nigerians from all federal constituencies democratically elected representatives whom they sponsored to London, paid their flight tickets and hotel accommodation for the Independence constitutional conference. Those representatives all resolved and agreed on federalism marked by regional autonomy and resource control in the Independence constitution which they brought back home and everyone accepted it. In that constitution, Nigerians all agreed that on no account shall the military take over power. It was also clearly stated in it that ammendments to it could be done by only democratically elected respresentatives. That constitution was the first ever agreement between all Nigerians. On the day of his inauguration as the Army GoC, Aguiyi Ironsi stood before the whole world and with his own mouth swore to protect and defend that sovereign Independence constitution regardless of the circumstances that may later arise. But just six years after he manufactured an excuse to clinic power against the clear provisions of that constitution we all agreed to, unilaterally began to amnend its provisions with his very offensive Decrees, and ended up dismantling the federalism and resource control therein, and ultimately subverted that constitution we all painstakingly sacrificed to draft. That was the height of irresponsibly and dishonoring of sacred agreement. That was how Igbos breached the first agreement we ever all mutually consented to, thus laying the foundation for violation of future agreements. So Aburi Accord was only treated exactly the same way Igbos treated the Independence constitution agreement. Obasanjo removed history from d school curriculum hence d reason why many of wat we know of d eventualities in Biafra war were altered to suite their narratives
How Zik Handed Over Control Of Others In Nigeria To Fulani Oligarchy.
A few days ago, I got a message from a Young Yoruba citizen. He writes and I quote:
"I believe Fulani is Yoruba's number one enemy which we all knew how the British handed over Nigeria to them."
This is not the truth. The British did not hand over Nigeria to the Fulani.
Parliamentary elections were held in Nigeria on 12 December 1959. The result was a hung parliament with no clear majority to form a government.
Zik's National Council of Nigeria and Cameroons (NCNC), came first with 2,594,577 votes to get 81 seats.
Awolowo's Action Group (AG), came second with 1,992,364 votes to get only 73 seats.
However, the Ahmadu Bello's Northern People's Congress (NPC), came a distant third with 1,922,179 votes to get 134 of the 312 seats in the House of Representatives despite getting less public votes.
The above three major political parties in the election did not get enough number of the seats to form a government. An alliance had to be formed to determine who would rule.
It was a no brainer that Zik's NCNC and Awolowo's Action Group should make a coalition government as they came first and second respectively. Awolowo, then humbled himself and volunteered to be a Deputy Prime Minister or Finance Minister in a coalition government with Zik as the Prime Minister. This was because the Zik's NCNC party had more public votes and seats than the Awolowo's Action Group.
Zik invited Awolowo’s team to Asaba, the gateway between the Yoruba's Western Region and the Igbo's Eastern Region to hold coalition talks. The talks were a clever ruse to keep Action Group’s hopes high, so that Action Group would be kept distracted from meeting with other minor parties for talks, including: Northern Elements Progressive Union with 8 seats; Mobolaje Grand Alliance with 6 seats; Igala Union with 4 seats; Independents Candidates with 4 seats; Igbira Tribal Union with 4 seats and the Niger Delta Congress with 1 seat.
Whilst the Action Group team was waiting in Asaba for a meeting with the NCNC, they read in the news that Zik and the NCNC had gone up North and clinched the deal with Ahmadu Bello on forming a coalition government with the NPC.
Tafawa Balewa, a Fulani, would be the Prime Minister of Nigeria while Zik would be the figure head Governor-General. Even Nkrumah of Ghana was shocked. He asked Zik why having spent so much energy fighting for colonial emancipation and then settling for a toothless bulldog role when Nigeria needed him the most.
Zik wrote in his autobiography why he did not form a coalition government with Awolowo. In 1947, with over £13,500 raised from the Yoruba people and given to the NCNC, Zik had led other six prominent NCNC delegates to London to protest the “obnoxious laws” of Governor Arthur Richards. The trip ended in failure with backbiting, abuses and accusation of theft against Zik. Zik’s opponents at the NCNC, accused him of squandering the money and the trust of Nigerians. Zik replied insinuating that the Yoruba on the team, that are: Mrs. Fumilayo Ransome-Kuti, Prince Adeleke Adedoyin, and Dr. A. B. Olorunnimbe, were the problem. There erupted a heated and prolonged press war between Zik’s Political Reminiscence in his West African Pilot and H.O. Davies’ Political Panorama in the Daily Service. This led to Igbo in Lagos rushing to buy machetes in large numbers thinking a tribal war was imminent. The Governor and his General Secretary, Hugh Foot, quickly called Zik and H.O. Davies to order at the Government House. Zik went away with the resolve that “the Yoruba must not be allowed to rule over others in Nigeria”. And afterwards in the Daily Service published the speech of Zik in 1949 about Igbo been destined by God to conquer and rule over others. This among others, will explain why Zik rejected Awolowo's offer of a coalition government in 1959 and instead worked with the Fulani. The Fulani had been reading Zik and the Igbo through the lens of his 1949 speech ever since. The Fulani way of neutralising Zik when the opportunity came in 1959 was to offer him a powerless post, which surprisingly Zik and the NCNC dutifully accepted in place of being Nigeria’s first Prime Minister. Zik had thought that the Igbo can easily manipulate the Fulani in place of the educated Yoruba. He thus manipulated Balewa to arrest Awolowo in 1962 and to have him jailed for 10 years in 1963. Zik also manipulated Balewa to remove from the Western Region the Edo, Urhobo, Itsekiri and Western Ijaw that account for 70% of the oil wealth in Nigeria and created for them the Mid-West Region. Zik's hatred for the Yoruba gave the Fulani the impetus to rule over others in Nigeria.
The Igbo coup plotters tried to undo Zik's mistake in 1966 which resulted in the civil war.
Britain did not really hand over Nigeria to the Fulani. Nigeria was given over to the Fulani by the Igbo.
However, to hold on to power in Nigeria, the Fulani enlisted the backing of the self-serving career politicians in England. The Igbo is therefore the Yoruba's number one enemy in Nigeria than the Fulani. The first two bolded lines are the evidences I mentioned already. The next bolded lines are not in the original article but additions by another guy in the chain of piracy called Folorunsho. As an Edo person, Deadlytruth Speaks couldn't have expressed sadness over the creation of the Midwestern Region as did by the pirate somewhere towards the end of his own version of the article as seen above. |

This article was reserched and composed by the moniker known as Deadlytruth Speaks and posted in a WhatsApp group called "Nigeria Agenda" from which another member called Anascopeterson shared it in many other WhatsApp groups in a pirated manner i.e. without giving credit to the author hence it ended up being circulated with different posters sharing it as if they composed it.
Deadlytruth Speaks actually composed and posted it in Nigeria Agenda as a response and rejoinder to an Igbo member of that WhatsApp group who shared the popular but falsehood ladden article composed and published by former CBN governor and now Kano Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, blaming Yorubas for the intractible political crises that have bedeviled the country.
As an evidence that it was a rejoinder to another message on a WhatsApp group, somewhere in the first paragraph of the article reads:
"the story told above is an example of one of such distorted and selective accounts of history which the Igbos are known for and enjoy sharing......" Another evidence is the fact that somewhere else in the article the moniker "Deadlytruth" even appears though as "Deadly Truth" as the first pirate forgot to edit it out when he copied it from the WhatsApp group. In addition, Deadlytruth Speaks is an Edo person who has taken his time to independent mindedly search over the years for unassailable facts about Nigeria's political history. A perusal through most of his posts here on Nairaland reveals this. A lot of Igbos hate him for saying it as it is especially as it borders on Zik's and Ironsi's folly which put the country into this mess. They therefore describe him with adjectives like Igbophobic, anti-Biafra, Afonja, etc, but he is never moved as he has promised to change his views only if the Igbo monikers on NL can furnish him with superior contrary facts. |
