Kobojunkie: Nigeria can produce wheat . . . it currently does, used to be one of the world heavies in wheat production, and can increase wheat production now if it wanted to. That is one of the reasons why this cassava policy makes no sense to me. Why move to cassava when you can as well increase wheat production and continue eating wheat, and still take advantage of the increase in cassava production.Increasingly, you betray your ineptitude for any form of leadership whatsoever. Hear yourself " why move to cassava" . Even before this administration, it has been agreed that Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava. We have comparative advantage in the production of cassava. Cassava is part of our daily lives in Nigeria. It is the most visible crop in our farmlands. Cassava based foods like Garri and Santana are the most consummed in Nigeria. During OBJ days, he sought to process cassava for export. This govt came in and decided that beyond the export of cassava, we should try to evolve policies that will maximise the usage of cassava for our overall economic well being. This policy direction has been commended by all except Kobojunkie and OLD GBAWE. In his foolish thoughts, KOBOJUNKIE wants us to abandon the maximum utilisation of our surplus cassava to venture into the cultivation of wheat, which is a rare crop down south. There is just no end to the absurdity that these GEJ haters are willing to exhibit on Nairaland |
Is there no way wheat can be grown in this country? The odor of cassava bread is horror ful.
We have comparative advantage in cassava. It only makes economical sense that we maximise it's usage for our overall benefit. The odour of cassava cannot be felt after undergoing the processes of conversion to flour and eventual bakery. When cassava is processed into garri, it doesn't smell awful. The aroma is nice. |
Gbawe: Nigeria does not need enemies while Nigerians, even poverty-ridden and wretched, are still this ridiculously easy to divide and conquer to the extent they robustly defend those destroying their lives and the future of their children. Stockholm syndrome on ultra-potent steroids !!!The old GBAWE with his usual rabble rousing. Full of fury. No substance. ![]() |
We have never had it so good. This was how THISDAY, a leading newspaper in Nigeria, captured the ongoing transformation in our agricultural sector in its Sunday edition of May 27 th 2012. Haters please spare a look. Akinwunmi Adesina/Making Agriculture a Profitable Business ***** One of the stars of the cabinet and a first time Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina has in the past one year put in place measures to revolutionise the agriculture sector of the economy. His Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA), introduced shortly after he came on board, is geared towards fully tapping the potential of the sector that accounts for about 45 percent of the nation’s GDP and is the largest employer of labour in the country. In his one year in office, the minister succeeded in breaking the jinx in fertilizer distribution to farmers by beating the fertilizer cartel at their game. According to his plan, 20 million farmers across the country would benefit from the fertilizer voucher scheme and distribution of high-yield seedlings in the next four years. Already, his initiatives in the fertilizer distribution scheme are yielding fruit, as the middlemen who used to hoard the commodity have been taken out. Today, fertilizer is readily available to over 90 per cent of farmers in the country. In other areas, Adesina has spearheaded the use of cassava alongside wheat for the production of bread. His aim is to encourage the production of cassava and whittle down Nigeria’s over-reliance on imported wheat. In this regard, the import duty on wheat is expected to increase from next month. Another food crop that has been given a similar boost by the minister is rice, on which a higher import duty is to be imposed in order to encourage local rice production. Several states have capitalised on the minister’s programmes by entering into agreements with foreign rice producers to grow and produce polished rice in their states. In addition to enhancing productivity in the sector, the minister has initiated plans to build silos nationwide for the storage of food crops. He has also held a series of meetings with the Central Bank of Nigeria and commercial banks to make credit available to farmers at single-digit rates of interest. Although banks are still resistant to providing credit to the sector, observers believe that it is only a matter of time before they introduce specialised funding schemes to fund agriculture. As a mark of the confidence reposed in Adesina by President Goodluck Jonathan, his agitation for improved funding for the sector was accommodated in the 2012 budget. Also, in support of his revolution in agriculture, the World Bank is committing N139.5 billion (about $900 million) to help in ensuring food security in Nigeria. Complementing Adesina is Alhaji Bukar Tijani, Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development. |
Elueme: There is no special training required for baking cassava flour compared to baking wheat flour.. What the chairman was canvassing for was a gradual step process before reaching govt's 40% expectation.. Reason could be that the bakers didn't want a total change of favour which could affect demands.. Economy transformation doesn't promise to be rosy at the initials but ll however yield its intended objective after a short while.. As someone said earlier, we ll be expecting some slight discomforts but ll however be a collective sacrifice.. We need sincere policies to change our economy fortunes, the earlier we start promoting our local products the better for our foreign exchange.. It is a policy most countries like China, India , Japan etc embarked on before skyrocketing into developed nation( India however not yet a developed nation but had made a great economy success in less than 20 yrs)WORD! |
tunnytox: LWKMDYou are the dullard here. If all you could contribute to the subject matter is the above quote, then you are not only a dull brain but a slowpoke! |
moonraker: FRESH AIR!!!YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS BLIND HENCE YOU CAN'T SEE THE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS OF GEJ WITHIN ONE YEAR IN OFFICE for your sake, I will reproduce some of his achievements as follows: In Finance. The finance ministry is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants to reduce waste. The checks revealed the pension scam of over 120 billion. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds. Our foreign reserves have risen again to 37 billion dollars. There's the proposed Soveriegn Wealth Fund to cater for excess oil sale proceeds. In Energy, a lot of reforms. The president is keen on transparency and thus has set up probes into the sector viz KPMG AUDIT and AIG IMOUKHEDE. The president sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy but the cabal misled Labour into a protest. That notwithstanding, the reforms are still ongoing and the full deregulation of the downstream sector being vigorously pursued. Last week, the FG had concluded the PIB which remains a landmark legislation that will revolutionarize the petroleum industry. Refineries are undergoing repairs and an American company, VULCAN is to build six more new refineries. In roads, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works, dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, Dualisation of Ibadan -Ilorin, ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha, 9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 265 km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia, award of Afikpo-Okigwe, Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass to mention but a few. In Transport, massive reforms at the ports. Sanitisation and reduction of operating agencies to 7. Introduction of 24 hrs ports operation. Ongoing Construction of light gauge train railways across t4 cardinal point of the federation In Aviation, massive reconstruction of major airports in the land, Enugu airport is undergoing total rehabilitation. The domestic wing of Abuja airport is also being reconstructed with expansion of roads and car parks. Same fr the international wing and the kano airports In Education, establishment of 9 new federal universities in less than 1 year. Constructed 2 new campuses of the Nigerian law schools in Yenagoa and Yola respectively. Launched the Almajiri schools for education of itenerant Islamic pupils in the north wFhich Buhari and other northern leaders abandoned. Increased funding to almost 400 billion to education thereby setting an all time highest record. Reinvigorated the inspectorate oversight of schools leading to the revocation of some licenses from universities. Executed the landmark upgrade of university lecturers retirement age from 65 to 70. In agriculture, for the first time in our history, we have a clearly defined agricultural policy which is targeted towards maximum utilisation of cassava for growth thru the launch of the cassava bread campaign. The policy is intended to reduce our reliance on imported wheat so as to encourage local production of cassava and it's conversion to flour for bakery. The FG has in less than one year eliminated the middlemen cartel that fed fat on fertiliser distribution at the expense of local farmers. Now through deregulation reforms, fertiliser is now accessible in the open market. he has also embarked on massive construction of silos and has increased import duties on the importation of rice in order to encourage local farmers. The efforts of the minister has been so appreciable that the world bank assisted with over 50 billion Naira for fertiliser redistribution scheme/ silos. The CBN has also set up a 500 billion loan scheme which is to assist farmers. In power, the NIPP has been revived with the subsequent refurbishment of Afam, Alaoji, Calabar, GEREGU, Omotosho, papalanto power plants. This has led to the addition last December of 4,000 megawatts from barely 1700 to the national grid. To address the problem of distribution, the 18 successor companies have been slated for privatization. The media is already awash with news of the proposed privatization next week. The reforms include the review of tariffs in order to ensure a cost reflective tariff that will encourage private sector participation in the building of gas plants. Already, this has started yielding dividends as SPDC has commenced processes towards building a gas plant in IMO state. |
Kobojunkie: You dey read at all? The Bakers association is telling you that what the administration is pushing, they are not trained on, and so the administration will likely need to spend Billions of Naira to train all bakers, and purchase for them the right tools, so they can accomplish this new requirement. You should go and read the article and see whether your proposal for training and equipment makes any sense. the man accepted that they are currently using only 20% of cassava flour mix. So if this is the case, do they need additional training and equipment to make it to 40 %? Can't you see how bad a president you will be in aligning yourself with this illogical proposal? Left for you, we will release another billions for training and equipment for 40% usage of cassava bread flour. Sorry. That era of waste and profligacy is gone. This is time for transformation. |
Pataki: I can see our resident person (dedeike) is here again. Copying and pasting his claptrap.Typical Pataki on the loose. Ranting gibberish. Confusing issues. Harping on the mundane and reeling of absurdity. I advice all objective minds to re access my earlier post and the corresponding reply above. It's just too obvious that PATAKI is a psychiatric case. How can any sane mind come up with this gutter response to an informed debate? It doesn't just add up. Something is wrong somewhere. Smh |
alaoeri: May God forgive u with all this propaganda, they are taking about issue of security that he should wake up to the challenges, u talking about east-west road. You re the one that God will forgive for being a silly and self serving hypocrite. what do you mean by talking about security? Because your colleagues in Boko Haram are throwing bombs at us then Gej should not repair roads in the Niger Delta? You want the entire business of governance to come to a halt so that we can talk only about Boko Haram? You have shown how much of an idiotic President you will be, if we ever have the misfortune of electing you as President. Come to think of it, is there insecurity in the Niger Delta? How many bombs did you hear have exploded in Niger Delta? Go to PORTHARCOURT today and witness the peace and normalcy. Calabar and Akwa Ibom are the safest heaven for tourists in Nigeria. Same for Bayelsa and Delta no more communal crises that we witnessed during the Obj days. In your lame thinking, security is only about fighting A group of people who have resolved to kill themselves. All over the world, there are conventional crimes which govts contend with. Talk about armed robbery, murder, burglary, rape, etc. This Boko Haram issue is a peculiar challenge. And if you think otherwise, then you re a big fool. No country, I repeat , no country can ever lay claims to having successfully eradicated homegrown terrorism. There's little or nothing one can do to stop a citizen who wakes up and decides to kill his fellow citizens and himself in the process. Till tomorrow, Isreali citizens fall victim to suicide attacks despite their sophistication in security matters. The last one even happened in Europe against Isreali tourists in Bulgaria. Were Nigeria to be Bulgaria, and tourists were bombed, you all would have swarmed into Nairaland like bees calling for the President's resignation. But the last time I checked, Plevneliev is still the president of Bulgaria and has not resigned. If this argument were to have held some months back, some of you would have come to talk about a mythical US where homegrown terrorism cannot happen. Penultimate week, we saw a youth, not even a trained suicide bomber, walk into a cinema and shot people to death in Colorado US. Imagine if this this had happened in Our own silverbird, there would be mass call for GEJ's sack. For many of us, GEJ should just wear army uniforms and patrol the length and breadth of Nigeria before we acknowledge that he is fighting Boko Haram. Stupid people! |
Where did they excavate this swalat from? When I saw Niger delta group on the headline, I felt it was any serious group led by either Clark or Dokubo or whyte. I was embarrassed to see this nonentity. I'm so sure that this group only exist on this thread. It is another phantom creation intended to blackmail GEJ. However, I will still respond to the issues raised. THE GOVT OF GEJ IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE NIGER DELTA REGION. Apart from the rising inclusion of Niger delta sons into key strategic positions of govt, the region is experiencing new frontiers in development. 2 new federal universities have already been established in Niger Delta. One in Otuoke, the other in Delta state. A campus of the law school is now at Yenagoa. Kolo-Nembe-Brass was awarded by this govt. Benin-Ore road was awarded by this govt in order to ease the burden of Niger Delta sons who ply that route regularly to Lagos. The contract for the construction of East-West road is currently been re negotiated and expected out soon. Under the Niger Delta Power holding, GEJ has refurbished calabar, Alaoji, Afam, Sapele, power stations and Gas plants are coming on stream by the decision to execute bulk purchase trader agreements and review of tariffs. The new PIB is a landmark legislation that is intended to increase the fortunes of the entire Niger Delta. Iwhen passed, oil host communities will have greater stake in exploration of their oil. The law requires the involvement of host communities in the highest decision making levels of oil companies. |
LET'S BE OBJECTIVE. MR RENO OMOKRI UPDATED HIS FACEBOOK STATUS AS FOLLOWS: “”Two things happened when man fell. 1-Man lost dominion over the earth. 2-Man sinned and was condemned to death. Therefore, for God to restore His purpose for mankind and the earth, He had to lift that death sentence on man’s head. Then after that, he had to restore dominion to man. This is what Jesus meant in John 10:10 when He said-the thief comes to steal (your dominion) kill ( death sentence for sin) and destroy (God’s purpose for man) but I come that they may have life (lifting the death sentence on man via His sacrificial death) and have it more abundantly (the abundant life that you have when your dominion is restored). But all these are promised to only those who believe in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. As we approach 2012, consider the words of Jesus In John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” There is no other way. So if you have not entered through the Jesus way, think deeply and make that decision to make Jesus your Saviour. If you believe, say “Jesus, I believe in you and your sacrificial death on the cross as well as your resurrection. Come into my heart, I confess you as my Lord and Saviour”. Now if you have done this, look for a bible believing church and start to study the bible. Don’t be ashamed. Remember Jesus said In Matthew 10:32-33 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”" A MAD MAN, WHO GLORIES IN THE NAME OLUGBENRO AND WORKS FOR HIS PAYMASTER, EL RUFAI COMMENTEC AS FOLLOWS: 1. N240b was budgeted in 2011 and N1.3t was spent on fuel subsidy. Who approved the extra N1 trillion and more? Extra budgetary spending? 2. Maximum of N300b was spent on fuel subsidy on annual basis up to 2010. Who were those that approved the papers for the payment of N1.3t in 2011? 3. We were told that selling fuel at N65 in Nigeria will keep encouraging smuggling to neighbouring countries where fuel sells for between N170 to N200 per litre. Will that stop if fuel is sold at N140 in Nigeria? Isn’t there enough incentive between selling at N140 and N200 or is there a plan to actually move the price to N200 (since we are the “giant of Africa”?) 4. What did we do with the billions of dollars saved from the World Bank and IMF’s debt forgiveness? The same minister is still in power. 5. We started privatisation since 26 years ago with the continued promise that recurrent expenditure would be reduced. But recurrent expenditure has increased from 50% to 73% as at 2011. How has our own privatisation resulted in building up of overheads? 6. Why can’t we make a scape goat of those who have enriched themselves and impoverished Nigerians through corruption in government? 7. “Nigeria is broke” as they want us to believe, but the President want 6 presidential jets in his fleet when the British PM flies BA. Who is fooling who? 8. How can the government continue to ask the already improvised Nigerians to keep making sacrifices for a “better tomorrow” when they live in opulence and luxury at the expense of our collective wealth? 9. What is difference between this government and previous administration that will make Nigerians believe their empty promises? 10. Do we need 42 ministers and the retinue of advisers, special advisers and senior special advisers that follows? 11. Do we really need a full-time national assembly? 12. Do we really need two different chambers of national assembly?” Mr. Reno Omokri replied: “Yomi Olugbenro This space is entirely devoted to the projection of my personal beliefs in God through His Son Jesus. I maintain a political profile-facebook.com/buildupnigeria. Please direct political messages there. Thank you" PLEASE I WANT SOMEBODY TO TELL ME HOW THIS AMOUNTS TO CONTEMPT ON A NIGERIAN CITIZEN And what is El Rufai's business in this conversation? If El rufai were to be half as nice on twitter, his followership strength would have far exceeded 100 thousand. |
I'm not sure El rufai understands what contempt is |
See the kettle calling the pot black. Imagine El rufai attacking Reno on snubbing Nigerians. This is El Rufai that has a rich record of blocking people on his twitter handle. I have seen a lot of people that El rufai has blocked on twitter. This guy is just a hypocrite. He does worse things and comes back to criticise people who do far more less things than he does. If it were El Rufai's page on Facebook, he would have deleted these people a long time ago. Reno was even very diplomatic with the hater. He had politely reminded him that the Facebook page was devoted for his religious beliefs and it's obvious from his update. If not for mischief, how can any sane mind see such an update and follow it up with political comments? There is a time and place for everything. I know that El Rufai, the religious bigot, won't tolerate anybody coming to join issues with him on politics on a Facebook page he opened in pursuance of his Islamic belief. I know that too well |
OBj. Then followed by Jonathan. But I'm sure GEJ, at the rate he is going, will overtake Obj in the next 3 years. |
mathskill: It seems you are the mouth piece of every corrupt person in nigeria. You defend the undefendable and praise the unpraisable.Resignation is the honourable step to take for the PDP chairman because his son is involved in the subsidy oil scam amounting to billions of naira.Shut up and take simple correction. What's wrong with you? Is it too difficult to understand that a man cannot be liable for the criminal acts of his son? Why are you this dumb? |
Olaolufred: A free and fair election is no longer the right of Nigerian. You just suddenly realized free and fair elections is your right? It took you almost 12 yrs and GEJ's presidency to realize this? Good morning. The problem with you haters is the inability to acknowledge change and progress when necessary. Gov. Adams Oshiomhole that rushed to thank GEJ after elections doesn't know that free and fair election is a right abi? You think he was foolish to do that? Good morning. You said you voted Jonathan in 2012? I doubt. But if it is true then you were one of those gullible voters who were swayed by bandwagon sentiments to vote GEJ. Your vote was not based on the electoral promises that GEJ made. I say this because If your vote was based on GEJ's promises, you would have noticed that most of them have been accomplished within one year while the others are in progress. GEJ promised us to do many things in his term but with the rate he is going, he may finish all before the 3rd year. Take for instance, GEJ promised that he will make every state have a federal university. In one year, he has established 9 new federal universities. He promised to work on roads in the south east. He has completed Onitsha -Owerri, awarded Afikpo-Okigwe, refurbished 9 th mile. If he does Enugu-PORTHARCOURT in the next 3 years. He would have fulfilled all his promise on South east roads. |
Eko Ile: This is nothing but another silly, meaningless and vague talk by these useless clowns. They know how to uses dumb words like hope to, plan to, look into considering and other nonsensical rubbish.Obviously, this road is another one of their get rich quick project. This your ranting about committees pale into insignificance in the face of glaring evidence of results. You said the same thing about AIG committee but today their report provides the basis upon which the trial of oil subsidy cabal has started. Secondly, no body is using " hope to" to build roads under GEJ. Work is in progress on so many roads while some have been completed. The roads include Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works, dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, Dualisation of Ibadan -Ilorin, ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha, 9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 265 km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia, award of Afikpo-Okigwe, Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass |
Beaf: Like I said, bro, you and your primitive approach remind me of NURTW. I've got a pic below of an NURTW rampage through Lagos.Mr. pataki, the PRO of NURTW. I can see pics of your last convention. Your colleagues are clutching their voters cards(weapons) and moving to effect change of leadership. I know this is what prompted your call for September implementation. You think the Fg to be NURTW which has to rush everything in one day before another faction decides to take over. |
Pataki: Are you minding the dolt? As if we do not know how Nigeria works? A country where you only get things done depending on who you know, and who you are. I will not be shocked if Bamanga Tukur is not a shareholder in his son's company.Always speculative. I don't know whether this PRO of NURTW is also a stockbroker. |
lookmangiw: as diesel consumers are paying as low #45 to get the product, right? Diesel has been deregulated for many years and nothing has change, fool. Its only getting worse.slowpoke! If you followed the analysis logically, you will understand that it is not all about the removal of subsidy. Subsidy removal will only serve as a catalyst to the eventual reduction in prices. Diesel is only deregulated but prices cant come down because it's still imported. We import the inflation at the world market. The argument for removal of subsidy is that it will encourage private companies to build refineries. If refineries start working. Importation will end and with it the global market price and cost of landing. We will only pay for cost of production locally and their profit. It is argued that prices will be high. Agreed. The prices will be high initially but Competition between the refineries will bring down prices of both PMS and diesel. And no matter what it cant come close to the current fixed price. |
noblezone: As simple as A B C:God bless you. This is exactly what I have been saying ever since. I don't know whether it's rocket science to understand this. We need private sector participation in our oil refining. We have issued licenses in the past yet the recipients can't operate because it's much easier, better and more profitable to import and collect subsidy money. Secondly, no body invests in a sector where govt fixes prices. After producing, you wake up in the morning to hear that govt has fixed another price. The way forward is simple. Remove subsidy. Allow for market forces to determine price. Private sector will come in to invest in refineries. Prices will be high initially but after the completion of the refineries, competition will drive prices down. We may only need to pay as low as N45.00 per litre being cost of production and transportation locally. There will be massive employment opportunities. Importation will end. No more window for official corruption through subsidy payments. The cabal will now rest. |
Pataki: You really need to be wary of your choice of words with me. I get the jibe you are trying to make with comparing ACN with NURTW. finally, their real identities are coming to fore. This man is P.R.O of NURTW. Mr PRO, everybody in Nigeria knows that your group is peopled by touts and thugs with little or no form of education. It is evident in the way your organization is run. The mode of selecting your leaders is through fighting and brigandage. Your activities violate all known rules of civility. It's evident in the streets of lagos and Ibadan where you hold sway. It's also evident in your posts. It takes a prominent member of NURTW to ask for a budget which was passed in march to be fully implemented by September. Perhaps, that is how budgets are run in NURTW. In your organization, fiscal year is 6 months because of the instability of leadership so I understand your frustrations about GEJ's budget implementation. You think Nigerian budget to be that of NURTW. sorry. It's not. |
Pataki: Seeking relevance? It is not difficult to know that you are a fool. And I will not allow you to spread this foolishness on this thread. You keep m.asturbating about a mythical attempt by GEJ to rig Edo polls when the real victor, not a distant fool who was blabbing on Nairaland on election day, has come out openly to commend and acknowledge the role of GEJ in the free and fair elections in Edo. It is either that you are blind or you don't own a TV to have seen Oshiomhole rush to Aso rock, immediately after the elections, to thank GEJ for deploying all necessary machinery towards conducting a credible election in Edo state. What problems do you have with cassava bread all the time? If you don't like the idea that the Agric minister is promoting, you have an option not to buy it when you see it. Don't make a mockery of yourself by blabbing about a policy that you know little or nothing about. This is exactly what the group is warning ACN about. |
Beaf: We Nigerians are fond of talking about some mythical "sane country," only to pull out fantastic allusions that have little bearing with the realities we witness from those "saner climes" day-in, day-out. No one is saying we do not need to improve our national moral scales, but some of us use that as a thinly veiled camouflage to aim at enemies, which is sad. In those "sane countries" nobody visits the sins of one adult on the other. On point. Thanks for educating these fools. |
lookmangiw: *steps in, discover that the thread is full of 40 laptop squad, runs out*Because you thrive in falsehood and can't stand anybody who tells you the truth. |
Ortis: Where did we stop on d lawan n otedola bribery case or is any1 gonna tel me wer mrs.ibru is or alo akala, gbenga daniel, demeji bankole n many other hudlum's.....NL GUYZ lets cut d wild goose chase nd face reality here....dis is NIJIRIA wer d rich nd theives ar abv d law.....just sit n watch d verdict...Its shocking how much ignorance you exhibit on this forum. You have a right to be cynical. But your cynicism should not becloud existing facts. Mrs Ibru has been convicted and has served out her sentence. Most of the ill gotten assets have all been seized. Messrs Genga Daniel and Akala are all facing trial by EFCC. Their cases were earlier dismissed prompting EFCC to re institute fresh charges. Dimeji Bankole was charged to court during the early days of this govt. The trial court has given verdict dismissing the case. It's one thing to charge, it's another to convict. Where the executive demonstrates its will is in the former. While the judiciary handles the latter. Everywhere in the world, cases are won in court due to the arguments put forward by the lawyers for both parties. Everywhere in the world, a guilty person can escape conviction by the superior argument of his lawyers. An innocent person could still go to jail due to the weakness of his lawyer. There are no hard and facts rules. It is not a must that somebody charged to court must be pronounced guilty. So you should not deride the efforts of the state in fighting graft on account of your faulty thinking that anybody charged must be convicted |
Foolishness. Ignorance. Desperation. Blackmail. Propaganda and idiocy can never come in a better form. When you just feel that these clowns have gone full circle, they come up with another rubbish. I wonder why these hirelings will stop at nothing to blackmail the most responsive and pro people govt in Nigeria's history. There is nothing in that report or any other report suggestive that a kobo of tax payers money will be involved in that project. So why the hair splitting? Did you see GEJ or Okonjo IWeala tell you that they are going to release 8 billion for this project? That report is clear, to anybody who read it, that first ladies numbering over 54 will contribute money for the project. Our own first lady says she will appeal to corporate bodies for help. An association that prides itself as African First ladies summit met and resolved to build a secretariat of themselves, for themselves, and by themselves. So what's our business? Except you have all become witches and wizards, I don't see why you should stand in the way of the first ladies to source for sponsorship from corporate bodies and well meaning individuals. In a saner clime, our discourse on this forum would have been more on how to donate money for this wonderful initiative intended to promote peace in Africa. Our own first lady deserves real commendation for living up to our giant of Africa status by calling the shots in the comity of African first ladies. What you haters desire is a situation whereby this, secretariat for whatever it's worth, to be built in Johannesburg or Abidjan? Our first lady is smarter than you dull brains. If anything, let the secretariat be in Abuja and beautify our landscape. But I'm sure the benefits will go beyond that as Nigerians, not Malawians,Somalians or south Africans, will be recruited as staff of the secretariat. I understand that the opposition is desirous to win presidency in 2015 but resort to cheap blackmail and propaganda is not the way to go about it. |
Kobojunkie: Well, here's the thing. We don't live in the stone ages anymore. Roads are built in a matter of weeks, even months these days. Railway lines are put together in 1-2 years or more. Bridges are assembled in less than a year even. Even SkyCrapers are built in a matter of months. Nuclear stations don't need to take 20 years to build any more . . . you can get 20 built across the nation in just 4 years(working with various teams). This all depends on the size of the project, availability of resources, and commitment on the part of those who need the job done. It does not need to take Nigeria 20 years to get where it needs to be. If we are committed to serious development, there is no reason why we cannot accomplish a significant amount of that in just 2 years. Much of the leg work has been done in most cases. All we need to do is apply what has been proven to work for our benefit here. So, forgive me if I think your argument there is bull-shiot as it does not answer anything. You are not talking to an slowpoke who you can tell anything. Go do your homework.Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You spent all this long time only to submit the above trash. Did you bother to verify the post at all before submission? We are no longer living in a stone age so you expect Benin-Ore-Sagamu covering over 265 km to be completed in a month? In your deluded thinking, roads are fixed by softwares in a day. why didn't the govt of your paymaster El rufai do it? Why hasnt successive govts in Nigeria considered it necessary to use that your 21st century software to develop the road ever since rather than expose motorists to the untold hardship for years. If fixing roads in this computer age is by a touch of button, why did Fashola take years to concession, not even build, lekki-Épé expressway which is less than 100 km and resort to extortion by mounting tolls in an internal trunk B road? You have become so petty in your hatred for this administration and objective minds on this forum can see through your animosity. They told you that this president, since assumption of office has completed and is undertaking road projects stretching almost 1000 km across the federation, yet all you do is come up with this lame and laughable excuse that in 21 st century roads are fixed in months. Whether it was fixed in one day, one week, one month or one year or even one term, the truth is that these roads hitherto abandoned by this administration is being handled by Jonathan. And much to your disappointment, it will be to his credit. I understand your frustration though. These projects which are littered in every geo political zone will speak for GEJ on 2015. |
ZERO TOLERANCE TO CORRUPTION. GEJ signed into law the long awaited FOI. Changed a non performing Waziri as EFCC chairman. Directed the prosecution of a speaker of House of Reps, Dimeji Bankole, for corruption. Sacked and replaced the head of PPPRA, sacked NNPC GMD, took bold and courageous steps to close the age long window of corruption by withdrawing subsidy and frustrating the cabal. Set up the first major probe into the oil sector by any executive in Nigeria. Formulated the revolutionary PIB for the oil sector. Santised the ports and withdrew 9 agencies from the ports for smooth operations, cut down House allowances by over 40 %, Directed the freezing of the police pensions fraud and the arraignment of all the top civil servants involved in court, Directed the prosecution of the oil cabal in what could be termed the first major landmark case in the history of oil theft. Even the sons of the most influential people were not spared. It can only be FRESH AIR |
The thief stayed almost 3 years before realizing he made a "mistake". So funny. These guys just thinks us all to be fools without common sense. This is a clear case of embezzling a client's money. It is criminal. And he knows hence the change of name. Imagine a lawyer saying he is at liberty to change names at will. What happens to his credentials and official documents? Like every crook, the day for Gbajabiamila's judgement is here. I can only laugh in Igbo ![]() |

And yet the Retardeen of a president came all the way from Abuja to Edo state thinking he could win for his party. But got really dealt with by ACN. Surely, that otueke cassava bread is working wonders on your brain.
