I no longer trust all these House probes. They are always politically tainted and handled mostly by non experts.
PoliticsRe: GEJ - Opposition Wants To Bring Us Down by dedeike: 2:19am On Jul 19, 2012
The transformation agenda is on course. Reforms are ongoing in every sector.

The finance ministry is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants  to reduce waste. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds. Our foreign reserves have risen again to 37 billion dollars. There's the proposed Soveriegn Wealth Fund to cater for excess oil sale proceeds.

In Energy, a lot of reforms. The president is keen on transparency and thus has set up probes into the sector viz KPMG AUDIT and AIG IMOUKHEDE. The president sought to close the window of corruption by removing subsidy but the cabal misled Labour into a protest. That notwithstanding, the reforms are still ongoing and the full deregulation of the downstream sector being vigorously pursued. Last week, the FG had concluded the PIB which remains a landmark legislation that will revolutionarize the petroleum  industry. Refineries are undergoing repairs and an American company, VULCAN is to build six more new refineries.

In roads, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau roads, Oshodi-Apapa with expansion and drainage works,  dedicated bridge frm liverpool roundabout to Tin can ports, trailer park, Dualisation  of Ibadan -Ilorin, ENUGU-Onitsha, completion of OWERRI -Onitsha,    9th mile, ongoing reconstruction of Benin-Ore-Sagamu highway measuring over 265 km, Kano-Maidugri Dualisation. Keffi -Akwanga-Lafia, award of Afikpo-Okigwe, Auchi-Okene being handled by Setraco. Loko-Eweta-Karishi bridge, Kolo-Nembe -Brass  to mention but a few.

In Transport, massive reforms at the ports. Sanitisation and reduction of operating agencies to 7. Introduction of 24 hrs ports operation. Ongoing Construction of light gauge train railways across t4 cardinal point of the federation

In  Aviation, massive reconstruction of major airports in the land, Enugu airport is undergoing total rehabilitation. The domestic wing of Abuja airport is also being reconstructed with expansion of roads and car parks. Same fr the international wing and the kano airports

In Education, establishment of 9 new federal universities in less than 1 year. Constructed 2 new campuses of the Nigerian law schools in Yenagoa and Yola respectively. Launched the Almajiri schools for education of itenerant Islamic pupils in the north wFhich Buhari and other northern leaders abandoned. Increased funding to almost 400 billion to education thereby setting an all time highest record. Reinvigorated the inspectorate oversight of schools leading to the revocation of some licenses from universities. Executed the landmark upgrade of university lecturers retirement age from 65 to 70.

In agriculture, for the first time in our history, we have a clearly defined agricultural policy which is targeted towards maximum utilisation of cassava for growth thru the launch of the cassava bread campaign. The policy is intended to reduce our reliance on imported wheat so as to encourage local production of cassava and it's conversion to flour for bakery. The FG has in less than one year eliminated the middlemen cartel that fed fat on fertiliser distribution at the expense of local farmers. Now through deregulation reforms, fertiliser is now accessible in the open market. he has also embarked on massive construction of silos and has increased import duties on the importation of rice in order to encourage local farmers. The efforts of the minister has been so appreciable that the world bank assisted with over 50 billion Naira for fertiliser redistribution scheme/ silos. The CBN has also set up a 500 billion loan scheme which is to assist farmers.

In power, the NIPP has been revived with the subsequent refurbishment of Afam, Alaoji, Calabar, GEREGU, Omotosho, papalanto power plants. This has led to the addition last December of 4,000 megawatts from barely 1700 to the national grid. To address the problem of distribution,  the 18 successor companies have been slated for privatization.  The media is already awash with news of the proposed privatization next week. The reforms include the review of tariffs in order to ensure a cost reflective tariff that will encourage private sector participation in the building of gas plants. Already, this has started yielding dividends as SPDC has commenced processes towards building a gas plant in IMO state.

@MR. KOBOJUNKIE,
when the cat is away.......... grin grin grin. I can see you have been having a nice time distorting truth, spreading falsehood and deceiving your gullible audience. But Its time for truth to prevail .

First of all, I want to address your tantrums about Boko Haram. The president said clearly that this peculiar security challenge, which has never occurred in the history of our country and that of many countries in the world, is a distraction. Now unless you re one of those sponsoring this menace, I don't see any reason why you won't agree with him. No other advanced country in the world is facing this challenge of home grown terrorism where it's indigenes wake up in the morning and plan how to die, killing other people in the process. Even the world's most populous Islamic state do not experience this challenge.

That notwithstanding, the present govt is fighting these people who have resolved to kill themselves. The govt is pursuing the peculiar task of making sure that they dont kill themselves. They declared that NIGERIA should be Islamised. The question then is, has Nigeria been Islamised? They said in January that all southerners should leave Northern NIGERIA, has that been achieved? They have declared and supports your desire to have Jonathan out of power, is GEJ OUT OF ASO ROCK? He is even cruising to a second term. They released a long list of their targets in Abuja for bombing including Aso villa, National Assembly, Transcorp Hilton, NCC, CBN, NNPC, ARMY headquarters etc. have they achieved any? In Abuja, much to your disappointment, life is going on normal. Clubs are bubbling. Schools are kicking, markets are abuzz, contractors are kicking, malls are agog etc.

Faced with defeat, the cowards have resorted to attacking worshippers in isolated churches in the North. Why not FCT? ,COWARDS!
GOD IS IN CONTROL.
GOD knows that you and your paymasters will use BOKO HARAM to distract this govt. And that is why he is keeping watch.

That is why inspite of all your distractions, GOD HAS KEPT GEJ GOING, BREAKING NEW GROUNDS, REFORMING and delivering the dividends which I shall reproduce in a succeeding post accordingly

The transformation agenda will keep moving. Haters will keep hating. While the paymasters will keep facing defeats on both social media and polls.
Weeks ago, these shameless agents of defeated presidential candidates thronged this forum to inaundate us with Prohesies of doom about the PIB. They taunted Jonathan for setting up useless committees and insisted blindly that nothing will come out from the Udoma led committee. Today, we know better.
The PIB has found its way to the National Assembly much to the disappointment of KOBOJUNKIE and GBAWE.
we are set to witness a landmark debate on the first comprehensive legislation on the petroleum industry courtesy of Jonathan and the best minister of petroleum in Nigeria, DIEZANI Allison MADUEKE.
Over to the National Assembly.

Once again, their shameless footsoldier, COMMANDER GBAWE, is on ground to spread the falsehood on NAIRALAND. I wonder why these guys dont get tired of advertising their foolishness on this forum.
It beats me hollow how Gbawe manages to earn the trust of his paymaster with all these daily flops. Or is it a case of like paymaster, like agent? All dull brains.
This article is an insult on the intelligence of that honorable body called NBA. You can't tell me that those distinguished Senior Advocates and lawyers cannot discern what is good for their association.
This article also proceeds on the faulty assumption that those lawyers are hungry like, GBAWE and his Sahara crew, hence the insinuation of bribery.
On the flip side, even if we should admit that Wali is Jonathan's candidate. It is sufficient proof of his political sagacity and control. If he can influence a whole NBA to arrive at his preferred option then Gbawe's paymasters are in trouble come 2015. grin grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Why Is El Rufai Using Social Media To Spread Hatred Among Christians And Muslims by dedeike: 3:24am On Jul 18, 2012
The story of El Rufai is that of a man who felt he had arrived in the Nigerian political scene but found himself being forced into exile by the vagaries of Nigeria's politics.
Upon return from exile under a new political era, he sought to launch himself back into the corridors of power but was welcomed with a court trial over his past corrupt deeds.
In a bid to gain recognition, he aligned forces with a spent political force under a sectional mob known as CPC to mount a feeble challenge for power. The bid had a great fall and El rufai was back to the labour market.
Faced with the prospects of political extinction, he resorted to the social media thus becoming a twitter politician and leading a pack of unemployed and defeated politicians on twitter.
His stock in trade is to whip up controversial statements in order to remain in public consciousness.
So brother, don't take him serious

But, hey, thats just how me and the rest of the world feel.
There he goes again with another superb display of foolishness.
You sound so pedestrian. What do you mean by 2 roads? Roads are not measured by numbers but by the distance it covers and it's strategic importance to socio economic activities in the area.
That notwithstanding, GEJ did not only do 2 roads (to borrow from your pedestrian parlance ) in one year.
GEJ has successfully completed the OWERRI-ONITSHA express road covering about 105km. The road links Anambra to IMO state. He is also working on Enugu-Onitsha of about 100 km linking Anambra and Enugu. Construction is also ongoing in Afikpo -Okigwe covering about 162 km and linking Ebonyi, Abia and Imo states.
Rehabilitation work has also been effected on 9 th mile express covering over 30 km and which serves as a gateway road from the North.
The president has also sent the entire Aba residents into wild jubilation following the refurbishing and opening of the Aba NNPC DEPOT. The depot was shut down for 10 years before GEJ intervened with his TRANSFORMATION wand.
President GEJ has also established a new federal university at Ebonyi state.
All these remarkable achievements took place in one year while you are overwhelmed with hate.

this man has a human face, a charisma that defies every stony hearts, humility personified, a meek disposition, an unassuming personality. A statesman to the core. Be sure, my president. You have my vote again and again. The north central will vote for you.
We have been wearing this shoe of religious/ ethnic strife and we know where it pinches. We understand your challenge at the moment. We in the north central have lived with this challenge for long . The north central believes that you represent an epitome of our victory over this challenge. You are the voice of the minorities long oppressed and suppressed. We will get there. Its just a matter of time. They have fed this monster to hunt you but they will end up in the belly of this monster.
Even in the south east, we are ready to give him 98% of our votes again. In just one year, he has completed the Onitsha-OWERRI road. Rehabilitated 9th mile express, awarded AFIKPO-OKIGWE, Rehabilitating Onitsha-OKIGWE. Last week, the whole ABA went gaga in celebration over the re opening of NNPC ABA DEPOT which was ran aground paralyzing economic activities for 10 years now. We have never had it so good in one year.
For the first time, we were appointed the Chief of Army staff since the BIAFRAN WAR. Our sons, unlike before, hold eminent govt positions. THE SSG, DG NYSC, COMPTROLER OF IMMIGRATIONS. etc
We cannot forget the most befitting state burial accorded our Hero, IKEMBA NNEWI, ODUMEGWU OJUKWU.
We know the BOKO HARAM attacks are part of the Northern agenda to oust us from the position of ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF.
The south east will always stand by JONATHAN any day any time.

When GEJ set out to govern Nigeria. No body knew we would have this peculiar security challenge where people will wake up one morning to throw bombs at fellow innocent and defenceless citizens. Every where in the world, there is stealing, murder, kidnapping, etc but this suicide bombing is a peculiar challenge.

If Boko Haram was an issue before the campaigns, we would have made it a subject of debates and presidential candidates will be called upon to address it.
GEJ articulated his agenda in govt clearly. He promised to pursue transformation. He promised that each state in Nigeria will have a federal university and he has fulfilled this promise by establishing 9 new universities on one year. He promised power reforms and he is fulfilling it by the revival of the abandoned NIPP power plants for generation.

As at last December, he had hit 4000 megawatts with the refurbishing of olorunshogo, Alaoji, utorogu , calabar, omotosho etc. he has succesfully reviewed tariffs to a cost reflective rate, the investors are now interested to come in, privatization of PHCN is ongoing and transmission lines covering over 6000 km are in top gear.

He promised us infrastructure and in less than one year he is constructing the long abandoned BENIN-ORE-SAGAMU highway, the APAPA -OSHODI expressway with drainage works and expansion. He is building a dedicated bridge from Liverpool roundabout into tin can. HE is doing ZARIA-FUNTUA-GUSAU, KANO -MAIDUGRI. he has completed the OWERRI -ONITSHA. Awarded AFIKPO-OKIGWE, AUCHINCLOSS -OKENE, IBADAN -ILORIN, KEFFI-AKWANGA-LAFIA-OBI --Awe etc
In one year, he is rehabilitating all our major airports.
He has sanitized the ports. Constructing railway lines.

The integration of host oil communities in oil bloc allocations. Deregulation etc . The bill needs proper fine tuning before forwarding to National Assembly.

The problem is that most people on Nairaland do not have the patience to read thru a post before making comments.
They come with a made up mind that nothing good will happen, so they just take a glance at the headline and jump into a spree of insults and abuses.

Any objective mind who reads thru will first of all acknowledge that the FG has started early enough to make projections for the 2013 budget. It is a welcome development given our history of carelessness and late planning.

Then to the crux of the matter. The minister says our domestic debt profile has increased and we may record a huge budget deficit that may require borrowing for 2013 not 2012.
She went further to explain that the huge debt profile was due to increasing wage bil since 2005. We all know that GEJ has not been president since 20005 so it will be most unfair to isolate the president for bashing.

On the other hand, she revealed that there was over 200% increase recently. The question then is, why this astronomical rise in debt profile?
We would all recall that president GEJ increased minimum wage from N8,000 to N18,500. Even corpers now earn N19,000 monthly. All these increments will definitely increase our wage bill.
It's not rocket science to understand this.

the federal govt dog and pony show

unless these crooks do not have attachments to pdp, just more story - two weeks of spam by beaf which after which we never see the thread again
The picture you have posted is further proof of GEJ's committment to fighting corruption. This was the arrest of the former speaker of House of Reps, Dimeji Bankole by EFCC.
In the first week of GEJ's assumption of office, he discovered that the outgoing house leadership was in involved in a 10 billion Naira loan scandal. He directed the CBN to withhold further allocations to the house and access to any loan by any commercial bank.
He also sent the EFCC to apprehend him after which he was charged to court.
One thing you must understand is that GEJ cannot perform the functions of other arms of govt. His own power stops immediately an accused is charged to court.
GEJ cannot come to mount influence on the judiciary to convict accused persons. Once a matter is in court, it is 50/50. It could go either way. It is a matter of legal gymnastics by lawyers on both sides.
And unfortunately, the accused persons usually have the resources to hire the best lawyers in the land. These lawyers will marshall out every weapon in their arsenal to secure bail for the accused.
They also go the extra mile to quash the case. That is what happened in bankole's case. You can't blame GEJ.
PoliticsRe: N32b Pension Fraud Trial: EFCC Seizes 45 Mansions by dedeike: 3:37am On Jul 17, 2012
Yet some paid agents of a bitter opposition will feign ignorance to GEJ's efforts in fighting corruption.
This fraud was discovered as a result of the ongoing bio metric evaluation exercise in the federal civil service. It was not engineered by the house nor the senate nor civil society groups.
It was a bold initiative of the Minister of Finance to curb wastages and reduce corruption in the public service. At each stage, she informed the president of her findings and the president gave her the go ahead to expose all the exposables.
Today, we're seeing their prosecution. And this order for seizure offers us a temporary justice pending their eventual conviction.
The transformation breeze is blowing. More are still underway. The AIG committee has submitted its subsidy verification report. The Fg has assured us that those indicted, including the 45 companies, which FACROOK exempted, will face the law soon. I can't wait.
BusinessRe: Nigeria Begins Fuel Import From Niger Republic by dedeike: 6:05pm On Jul 16, 2012
Nobody should call GEJ here. He sought to withdraw subsidy inorder to create the right deregulated environment for private sector investments in refineries. However, the cabal mobilized labour to fight against it with pedestrian sentiments.
The truth which those oil cabal acting thru Waheed Omar and Esele failed to tell protesters is that no private investor will build a refinery in Nigeria under the present subsidy regime.
It is more favourable to import and benefit from subsidy claims than to take the risk to build refineries in a sector where govt regulates price.
Remove subsidy. Deregulate the sector. Allow the market forces of supply and demand to determine price. That is the sure way to go

We have a responsibility as citizens to key into these reforms by getting our own pre paid meters to avoid this old story of over billing or under billing.
Personally, I use a pre paid meter so I have no issues about billing. I regulate my usage and monitor what I pay. That is the way other developed countries run.

They would have told us how the PDP man acknowledged that the election was indeed faulty by his own statements.
They will abuse INEC and issue all manner of press statements describing the elections as a charade. Sore loosers!
Even in states where A.C .N cannot boast of a visible presence, they will be the first to castigate the elections.
For A.C.N members, an election is only free and fair when it produces victory for their party. That is why all the Oshiomhole rantings about late arrival of materials and His expression of disappointment in JEGA fizzled out when the results started trickling in. Bunch of hypocrites.

Bukkyade: what did Edo people know that they went for? If GEJ Sought to manipulate the elections in favour of PDP. it's as easy as ABC.

He deployed over 3000 soldiers to that state. If he had told them to guard PDP to rig, how many of you here would have gone to fight the military?
How many of you noisemakers on this forum would have gone to retrieve election result sheets from Tony Anenih's house, if he was in custody of such, under the protection of military men?
How many of you would have gone to stop a returning officer who decides to answer a call in Abuja, like EKITI REC, did few years ago before announcing the winner of EKITI re run?
If INEC decides to keep you busy in the field with fake election results while the originals are in custody of PDP faithfuls, how would you fight that?
If the 18 returning officers decides not to visit the council secretariats but rather collates results at INEC Offices and fabricates figures for declaration, what will you do? Attack the military? Or burn down INEC OFFICE which doesn't add anything since the results are already declared? Or block roads? Or what?
What most of you noisemakers have failed to realize is that once a result is declared by the competent officer whether fraudulently or ruggedly, it remains valid till overturned by an election tribunal.
A more desperate president like OBJ would do anything to have his party declared as winner and ask the looser to head to court.
Oshiomhole knows this much and that is why he didn't even bother to thank his A.C.N leaders nor those of you making noise for him before rushing to pay gratitude to GEJ publicly.
Exactly my take. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

I can't wait for the present reforms to be completed so that all these rubbish will stop. This is why NERC is serious about proper metering thru pre paid meters. I use a pre paid meter and it saves one all these irregularities and estimate dealings with corrupt PHCN officials.
The tariffs were only increased from N7.00 to N12.00 for residency 2. it's even now more cheaper for Residency 1 Consumers as they pay N4.00 as against the old N7.00. So why this exploitation? The new tariff order is designed in such a way that rural dwellers and low income earners will be heavily subsidized. Govt also earmarked N100 billion as stabilization fund for this purpose .
So how did they arrive at this 200% increase estimates?
Let the full privatization begin this week and all this cock and bull stories will be history
You are yet to give me a good reason why anyone who has been identified as a potential oil subsidy thief by any report should be free from further investigation or prosecution. I don't give a darn about the Farouk/Otedola saga but ANY party identified be either of the 2 reports should be given the opportunity to come and clear his/her name in the court of law.

Why are you willing to prevent prosecution and further investigation of parties who are named in the NASS committee report, even if they may be guilty? It makes no sense to me and on the surface appears to be another scheme to protect some of the President's men. Let everyone named come and clear his/her name including Zenon oil!! Shi Kena
What you re saying pales into insignificance in the face of fresh revelations that the AIG COMMITTEE actually added over 40 names in this growing list of oil cabal.
That is further proof that Farouk's report was fundamentally faulty ab initio. And there's nothing good you can extract therefrom. You cannot build a report on corruption and expect it to stand.
Farouk showed in that bribery scandal why his report should be thrown into the Chilean mines. If he could intimidate people into giving bribes, how are we sure that other persons who couldn't meet up with his demands were not witchunted? How are we sure that other oil marketers who did not opt for a sting operation, like Otedollar did, but offered the bribe instead were not exempted?
The FACROOK report is so tainted and only fit for the bin

I said it and I will continue to say it. FACROOK's REPORT IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD IN 2012. I'm so happy that we did not fall fot it.
When all these Northern oil cabal mobilised support for Farouk report, I began to sense their sinister motives. I also wondered why Tambuwal would abandon the house committee on petroleum to draft his kinsman from Education committe to head such a sensitive assignment.
When the report came out and the names of these northern oil sheiks were missing, I wasn't surprised. It was not long before the bribery scandal broke out and reinforced my earlier convictions that the whole Farouk panel was a sham.
I await to see what their paid agents would do about this new development. I patiently wait their useless defences of their paymasters. Kobojunkie, GBAWE & co over to you.
