CrimeRe: Tears As Lagos Government Auctions 44 Vehicles For Traffic Offences by dederocs(m):
AbijaJasi:
Most Lagos traffic problem are caused by lawless drivers. Lagos drivers have to be the worst in the world.
Especially danfo drivers, government should regulate or scrap them.
Danfo drivers should be retrained, and used to run mass transit modern bus transport systems. too many buses on the road, plus the drivers are crazy.

Haa

This is rubbish.. How can the govt sell sumone car when he is not dead...

This news shud be fake..

Was the owner compensated or he got nothing?

Traffic offense, fine.. But no govt has the right to auction someone's car....

Bcox I disobey traffic law, one govt go kon sell my car... We die there
The law is the law, if you die, you die. You should see how some motorists flout traffic laws, using one way on expressway in Lagos, did you notice the crazy hold up one way driving caused in Lagos recently?
law and order must be restored with iron fist. No sane driver will do what will make government impound their cars, the mad ones must be taught a lesson. All over the world, cars are impounded if you break the law that warrants it. In the UK they stop drivers on highway early morning and night at traffic police stops, to check alcohol breath tests. Its about saving lives on the highway and taking mad drivers offthe road.

Harrysimon:
are you saying the massacre was in the best interest or what?
It was not a massacre, massacre is when you go somewhere with the intention of killing scores...check the meaning of massacre
massacre
/ˈmasəkə/
noun
an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many people.

In this case only one or two confirmed dead, perhaps by shrapnel, blunt force trauma etc, the intention, i believe is to clear the toll, that was why they were shooting to the skies metres before they approached where the protesters blocked the road...it is not a massacre, this is disinformation by CNN, i know people on scene that day. Watch the video, when the army got to the protesters, they stopped and were shooting to the skies, if they wanted to shoot to kill, they will not need to get so close to them. let us talk objectively, and stop this crowd mentality.

Where did you now get your own videos from?! Lai Muhammed said the videos in circulation were sourced from social media.
Even CNN is using same social media news and views, CNN is a news station and they thrive on sensationalism, this is their business, most of the views they are using is from social media, twitter and facebook, CNN had no reporter on scene that day...CNN destroyed Libya with propaganda, CNN destroyed Syria with their biased reporting, they have thier own interest. The video everyone saw is clear, the army was firing up, to disperse the crowds, any reasonable person seeing the army approaching should have left the scene...what do you want to confront the army for, you are blocking highway, other road users are complaining, no be only you get rights.

Where you expecting things to change overnight?

This is arguably the most successful protest in Nigeria's recent history.

1. The peaceful protesters stood their ground until the government was forced to show their hand full of incompetence and impunity, thereby proving the reason for the protests.

2. SARS has been scrapped

3. CSP James Nwafor the monster overseeing the dreaeded Akwuzu SARS is on the run

4. The Nigerians in Diaspora have been galvanized to fight for Nigeria from outside

5. The Judicial Panel of inquiry is giving many people the opportunity to tell their stories of horror and death in the hands of SARS

6. The Nigerian people, especially the youth have found their voice and they are not cowardly backing down like previous generations

7. The reality of howc@#$%&+/ the m governance is in Nigeria and our very dire situation has been made clear.

8. Nigerians have been organizing relentlessly to ensure that peaceful protesters unjustly arrested and detained during the protests are released, even in the face of impunity. No one is even calking @segalink for that.

9. The UK is having a public hearing on the matter targeted at sanctioning individual leaders who are found wanting.

10. Police Salaries have been increased

11. Nigerian leaders are now living with greater fear of the people

12. Buhari finally came out to read a speech to His people, even though many of us in the end felt it may have been better if He didn't say anything. At least it became clear that we were on our own till 2023.

I can give 12 more reasons why the protest was a success, but let me stop here.

P. S. Those poor souls will only die for nothing if those of us alive say they died for nothing. As for me, their deaths will not be in vain. Say Amen smiley
These young kids are dumb, they forget that things take a bit of time, they seem to be unable to separate the institutions from the politicians and crooks. Most of them are wayward, have no stake in the polity, hence wants it to burn. Acts of lawlessness and wanton violence, must be dealt with decisively, rogues and vagabonds can not determine how we live. Good post bro, we must keep pushing the common sense narrative, cos most of these kids have no basic tuition, training or knowledge of history and things.

So, if I may ask, where are these applicants supposed to carry out their agro business after the training?
The Lagos State I know is congested with houses. No one will choose agriculture in his empty plot against building an office complex or residential storey building on it. Knowing that real estate is the next thing after crude oil in lagos.
They are lands for it.

The question is hilarious, they were called to clear the tollgate so users can get access, very dumb question. Though the government could have used other means to clear the highway for other users, cos indeed there were millions of Lagosians who were barred from using the highway and expressways due to the protesters blocking the road, and the government must ensure rights of all, not just a section. Take your protests to where they are, stop blocking roads, and jeopardising livelihoods, and businesses of Nigerians. next protest, do not block roads, if you want masses support, blocking roads will quickly lead to confrontations and violence, let us stop acting naive, one thing leads to another...ignorance is no excuse under the LAW.

Pay the police well, and sack the weaklings, how can you be afraid, when you are trained, armed with AK 47 rifle, the police needs to employ more tactics, these hungry robbers attacking commuters are not smart, and they mainly know each other, and police knows where hoodkums reside, comb the ghettos across Lagos, visit them when they are resting, attack them when they are drinking in their beer parlours, burst them when they are resting with their whores, do not let them rest. infiltrate the ghettos with undercover cops, use locals as intelligence, and do proper investigation. The police command should arm police on patrols with bullet proof helmets and body vest, let them eat well, motivated for their job. These robbers are dumb, the police just need to be more tactical, and have more high calibre fire power.

Mr Lawan, as the leader in the house of reps representing the people, such an utterance is very wrong, and misrepresents democratic principles. You are there to represent the people, and put pressure on the executive, there to checkmate the executive, not to become rubber stamp house, this is unfair, and it is shameful that we allow partisan party interests and pocket interest, override the interest of the people you are there to serve. The people own the commonwealth, we have a right to demand for a reduction in the bogus payments our workers entitled themselves to. Nigeria is not rich because of too much being spent on salaries, allowances and other bogus entitlements and payments you subscribed to yourselves. It is very wrong for any entity, company or country to use 75% of its total revenue to pay salaries, and off the remaining 25%, maybe only 15% is actually used on actual capital projects, due to kick backs, corruption etc...such a country will keep borrowing till eternity, unless productivity is boosted.
