Hello guys, my wife is a nurse and has a job offer already from a carehome as she has passed IELTS and CBT. We are waiting to receive documents requirements from the Care home so that CoS can be processed and issued. I would like to go with my wife same time, does my wife need to tell the Care home that she has dependents in the CoS or it comes automatically if you have dependents?

NB: I know I am to cover the cost of my flight and accommodation.
Dependents will be automatically covered in her COS as long as her earnings will be above 19,000 GBP. You just need to be patient till it's out.

Please do you mind if I asked what your qualification or experience are to qualify you for the visa? I’m asking because my sister studied microbiology and I’ve been thinking how she could get a senior health care job with her qualification. Thanks.
UK needs Microbiologists too. Find out how they can register and apply as a Microbiologist.

Na that one I never decide on poo cos that quarantine money use style high poo but then what if one transits through another country and I'm eventually adds that one too to red list Abi what if they start giving somebody wahala at the POE after the transit? If he sure say wahala no go de I go like transit through another country sha. Will ring airlines tomorrow to first confirm if senior care workers are allowed to board that will determine my next move
Thanks for the response bro. I would not like to decide for you but you can always claim to go Xmas holiday in any country that is not on red list. As regards boarding, as long as you're on a work visa, you should not be denied boarding. All the best in your sojourn in the UK. My HAC visa should be out before the end of the year too, hopefully.

Congratulations and thanks for the information you’ve provided so far. I have a friend who studied physiology in Nigeria and would like to know how best to position herself to be eligible for jobs in the UK. Did you study in Nigeria too? If yes how did you go about the specialization? Thanks in anticipation.
Tell your friend to go to the nearest Teaching or General Hospital and locate any of the following units: EEG, ECG, Echocardiography, Spirometry or Physiology units. Request to learn at any of the unit (Most are free, some may ask for certain amount of money). Get sufficient experience and proficiency in their chosen field. Look for short courses related to their chosen fields that they can take. Then go online to begin their job search.

I schooled in Nigeria, by the way

Thanks for the feedback. She sent sent a mail to the employer and requested that she sends alternate email addresses for her references and she got a message from the NHS trust that once I they received the feedback from the referees she would get an offer. Referees have responded and it's hoped that the NHS employer will revert next week. Please, what's the best option to book medicals with IOM? Several mails were sent within the week with no response from them. The phone lines are also not connecting. Please, kindly assist.

No, I meant the job is going for is a regulated one in UK, did he start processing his registration from here in Nigeria, there are some jobs thst require license, just want to know if he has began the process here when he got his COS or when he get there he'll take the exams along the line
Firstly, I'm the 'HE'.

I processed the registration and applied from here in Nigeria. I got registered HERE IN NIGERIA.

The job is regulated but registration was not a requirement, the NHS Trust was supposed to help with it but I got registered because other jobs required it.

I did not take any exams, only submitted CV and credentials. COS came long after registration.

Good afternoon everyone. Been following this thread from the beginning and I can say, it's a great initiative by Uzland. However, I would like to answer a few questions from some of us here. Before I do that, I would like to say that I have a job offer from an NHS Foundation Trust to work as a NEUROPHYSIOLOGIST, I'm currently awaiting CoS.

1. For anyone who desires to go the HAC visa route, like some people have rightly said, your journey should begin by getting a job. These can be found on the following sites:
uk.indeed.com (selects jobs with NHS tags cos they ALWAYS give CoS)
jobs.nhs.uk
put your preferred job role in the search box and knock yourself out with number of vacancies e.g Pharmacist, Physiologist, Psychologist, Radiographer, etc

2. To the person who studied ANATOMY, I can't categorically place you in a particular job role as I am not so familiar with where an Anatomist can work. However, I suggest searching for the keyword 'ANATOMY' and seeing what the search results bring forth. Also, you can check out the likes of 'Medical Rehabilitation' or 'Radiographer' to see if you fit in.

3. If you eventually find a job that fits you, ensure:
a. you have adequate knowledge and work experience in that field(YOU WILL BE RIGOROUSLY TESTED IN YOUR INTERVIEW!!!)
b. you read the Job Description and Person Specifications of that job. Try to find out how to apply for relevant professional registration for that job role (HCPC, AHCS, RCCP, GMC, NMC,etc). Just ensure that you're suitably qualified
c. APPLY! APPLY!! APPLY!!! for as many as possible until ONE clicks, cos that's all you need

4. You will receive a LOT of rejections. Don't let that dampen your spirit. A lot of times, its not because you are not qualified, it could be that there is someone equally or more qualified than you in the UK who they will rather give the job to than go through the stress of employing you from Nigeria.

5. As regards job agencies, I do not believe in nor endorse them but I won't castigate them either. What works for one may not work for the other. But when an agency is asking you to pay certain amounts of money to them, that's your cue to RUN!!!

I'll do my best to answer as many questions as time permits me.

Side Note: HAC visa has become relatively easy for Nurses (RN/RM and Bsc Nursing). I'll post the process to do this, as compiled by someone else, much later.

I remain your comrade in the JAPA struggle
Just received my COS.

Hello house. This thread has been very helpful. Been reading up the messages here and I've gained a lot. Thanks for all the contributions.
I have an in-law in the UK who's helping me out with the CoS (I sent him my passport). meanwhile I'm in the process of getting my police report, transcript and proficiency in English from my school (I've paid for all). But I haven't booked for the TB test yet till I see the CoS. I hope I'm in the right track.
Have you been offered a job? Be sure of of things before you start your preparation. The only person that can help you out with COS is your prospective employer.

You can do you TB test now but it is only valid for 6 months. Whatever the case may be, I wish you best of luck.

Hello fam,

Please, my friend applied for an NHS Job and was shortlisted for interview. After the interview, she was told that they will get back to her the following week with the outcome. However, they didn't send a mail on the feedback to indicate whether she has been given an offer or not. After another 1 week, she sent a mail to the interviewer lead and got a reply that they are checking references that they will update her on the progress. Still, nothing was said about an offer.

Please, for those who are experienced in this, does the email they sent saying they are checking references indicate they will make an unconditional offer?

Your kind thoughts please.
If they are checking her references, ask her to contact all her references as they might have sent a mail to them and they are yet to respond. They can't send an unconditional offer until the verification process is over. She has to be patient and allow them do their checks

Thanks for the reply ...She has diploma in community health and she is currently a Supervisor for Tuberculosis & Leprosy working with state government ..please shed more light on what suits her profile and how she can go about it .
You need to be sure of the kind of jobs she can do in the UK. Do a Google search or better still, use the NHS jobs website. When you come up with a job that is well suited to her, then we can evaluate her chances.

To help you, ask her specific questions about her day-to-day activities and what her job entails.

For care giver who already gotten COS

*Do they have to pay IHS
*Do they have to submit POF
*Do they have to certify their knowledge of English with any regulatory body?
1. No, you do not have to pay IHS as long as you're going through the Heath and Care Visa route. it is covered for you already
2. It is stated in your COS if your employer will provide maintenance for you for the first month or not. If they will, you don't need to proof funds. If they won't (as in my case), you will need to.
3. Knowledge of English is a non-tradeable 10 points in the points system. It is COMPULSORY.
