I have an NHS hca job interview on Friday. Has anyone done thier interview, what are the possible questions?

The questions depend on the job role you were offered. Read the job description, that's where most of the questions will come from. They would want to know how proficient you are in that job.

Asides that, you also need to memorise their values, know what it stands for and how you have demonstrated such values in the past.

Study your application and ensure that you can defend all you wrote in it.

Success in your interview.

Thanks for your response, will the letter of recommendation come from her employer?

It should come from where the certificate was issued. If that is not possible, then she can get one from her current employer too. She can also use her current employer as reference

How long after your interview did it take for them to give you a response. I did an Interview close to two weeks ago but I haven't gotten any reply from the employer. Will it be proper to send them a mail, and what is the best way to coin the mail

1 week.

Search on Google on how to structure a follow up email after interview. You will see a lot of samples.

Please my sister in law who is an auxiliary nurse forwarded this to me asking if it can be useful for any uk immigration pathway. Please kindly advise.

She MAY be able to use that certificate to apply for the role of a Social Care worker or, at most, an Health Care Assistant. But she may need a letter of recommendation to back it up.

Greetings house.
I have some questions please:

There's a job offer but the pay isn't much - just about 2,400

However, I'm wondering if this will be worth it, considering that the job code falls under Skilled worker (Not health and Social care). so, application cost for a family of 5 is hitting the roof!

My question is:

1. When paying the visa application fee, will you be paying at official exchange rate (e.g pay naira equivalent to embassy's account), or required to buy GBP into your dorm account and pay?
2. For a 3yr option, are you required to pay the healthcare surcharge fee for main applicant and dependents at the point of application?
3. Is the TB test mandatory for children?
4. How soon can the TB test date be obtained and results ready, at this time?

I'm really wondering I can pull this through! the associated costs are too heavy! undecided I envy those in occupations eligible for the health & social care. grin

Hello.

If the salary is GBP2,400 after tax, then it is very good, if it is before tax, then it is just manageable. People are living with families and earning less than that. When you arrive, your spouse can also get a job and support the family. It is a win-win

1. Application fee is in US$. You will need a card that can perform transactions over the limit set by CBN to make the payment.

2. Check this link:
https://www.immigration-health-surcharge.service.gov.uk/checker/type

3. Check the following links for more info:
https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/#_frmHome
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-nigeria/tuberculosis-testing-in-nigeria

4. TB test result is usually available within 24 hours after the test

Hope that helps

If you're actually thinking of doing a VIDEO INTERVIEW with your phone, and not a Computer with WEBCAM and MICROPHONE, then you might as well forget about the job.

Good evening, pls I need to verify an info.
Someone said he can get certificate of sponsorship for care assistant for £17,000.

Is this a right information?

CoS is £1,000 per year and 1 CRIMINAL is asking you to bring money that you can use to run Masters in the UK? CoS is paid for by the employer and the Employer ONLY

I need to stress that anyone asking for money before getting you a job or issuing CoS is a CRIMINAL. Genuine agents get paid by the Employers not the Applicants. DON'T SCAM YOURSELVES!!!

Hey congratulations >> dee1504 and Percaput

Please did they specifically say it will be a virtual interview?

I got shortlisted for an interview on 9th of March and they just sent the physical address, they did not mention Anything about online interview there.

I replied the email telling the lady on the other end that I'm in Nigeria and can't possibly be in the UK for the interview but she has not replied after two days. I'm already upgrading myself taking new courses on Alison.

Did they specifically say it will be online during your own or they just sent the physical address like mine?

I have replied you on this already. Just send them an email, they will definitely respond. If the job is a Band 3 and above, they can do virtual interview. They even prefer that cos of COVID. 9th March is over 2 weeks away, you will surely get a response. No need to disturb them, it makes you look desperate. If they don't reply after 1 week, send another email.

I have seen people who got a physical interview invite initially and later had it changed to a virtual interview. Just download MS Teams, create an account and wait for them to send the interview invite link.

Wishing you success in your interview.

Thanks a lot. I was unconsciously designated as the chief in charge of EEG during the contract and I must say it was somehow satisfying, given that it tasked my head a lot more than did
the ECG and Spirometry...but that's not to say that I actively seek for stress sha. So I would say I'm most proficient in the neuro (as per naija level). Then again, I have one bias deeeep down about the fact that most neuro cases really have no absolute solution. So so so, I can still manage Respiratory PSG.

In brief, I can do neuro or respiratory physiology. You can advise me further please with regards to career prospects and satisfaction of cos..I wish to enjoy the money I work for...

Also, because I wasn't seeing a physiology future in Nigeria, I don't have a masters. Which brings me to another question; can I be accepted on that RCCP register without a masters degree? And I'm seeing many many things that are tiring me jare. Please help me. I would simply go for carer, but that would be insulting the effort I put into college of medicine, asides the fact that that area is steadily drawing plenty attention.
And I'll check that medical locum stuff. Thanks so much.

Hello.

So I'm guessing you're quite more proficient in EEG than in ECG and Spirometry. There is a course I took that served as a qualification course for me and I also used it for my RCCP. I'll forward the details to your mail when I get more information on the next batch. However, Respiratory and Cardiac physiology have the most vacancies. Cardiac is quite wide and you will need to be proficient in more tests than ECG (Echo, Pacemaker programming, stress tests, Holter monitoring, Tilt table, etc). Respiratory is not that wide, once you can do Forced Vital Capacity and can interpret Spirograms, you will be trained for the rest. As for Neuro, since you are good at EEG, you can try to learn Nerve conduction studies (carpal tunnel syndrome tests) and also try to be proficient at interpreting EEGs. That will put you in good stead. Sleep physiology (PSG) also has vacancies too but you also need to be proficient.

That being said, I would advise that you 'pick a struggle' and focus on it. Maximum of 2 but don't focus on all, it may affect your chances.

About interviews, all they want to know is how good you are at performing and interpreting all the tests in the specialty. Once they can see some level of proficiency, you will get the job. But be advised, YOU WILL BE GRILLED EXTENSIVELY! So know your onions very well. Once you perform satisfactorily in the interview and you get the job, that's when they'll start to ask for your qualifications.

Masters is not necessary for getting a job, neither is it necessary for RCCP. I got both from Nigeria without masters and I still don't have it. You don't need to go for Carer since you're way more qualified and experienced than a care worker.

When applying for jobs, target Band 5 and 6 jobs. You will get PLENTY rejections, its normal. Just don't give up. If you have made up your mind on your area of focus, you can start your applications. If you get stuck at any point, just shoot me an email.

I hope that helps.

Mark my words; God is going to bless you.
Please give me link to the short courses. Are they free? I have a 3+ years of working experience at an FMC doing ECG/EEG and Spirometry in an actual Physiology unit. The other Echo, Endoscopy, dialysis and side lab matters can be adequately fine-tuned too, if push comes to shove.

God bless you too.
Which area are you most proficient in/do you prefer to work in? That would determine how I can help streamline the courses to recommend.
Meanwhile you can search for 'MEDICAL LOCUM JOBS' on Instagram to see the courses they offer.

Good morning all.

I started applying for jobs since 19th of January this year. After series of Rejections, totalling more than 20. I was finally invited for an interview on the 9th of March. The email was sent yesterday the 16th of February in the afternoon but I'm just seeing it this morning the 17th of February.

However, there's no where they mentioned it will be done online. They only provided the physical address of the establishment. Though i have accepted the interview appointment, I don't know how I'm going to do this interview in the UK when I'm in Nigeria.

During the application process, i told them I'm in Nigeria and will be needing a sponsorship to come to the UK.

Please experienced gurus in the house, what do i do please?

Send an email to them stating that you are not in the UK and cannot attend the interview physically. Ask if they can make provisions for you to attend the interview virtually.

I have gotten all the required documents to process the NARIC certificate. When I proceed to make payment and input all details including the OTP. It bounces back and I get the following message;
Declined. Sorry, this transaction has been declined by your card issuer. No other information was passed to WorldPay as part of your confidentiality agreement with your card

I have uses 2 masters cards from a different banks.

What's is the way out please?

You can't use Nigerian Naira cards to pay for anything above $100. You will need a Dollar card or any other foreign currency card for the transaction.

Thanks for all your help.
PLS when going to book a date at IOM office. What must one go with. Is there any documentation required.
2. Can the booking / securing of a date for test be done by proxy (especially for one not based in Lagos and Abuja).
Thanks in advance.

I booked online and not at their office. You can go there to find out or call their office but the only thing you may need is your International Passport. Your best bet is too book online. Booking by proxy is also dicey but if the person has your IP, they should be able to book for you.

Good day house. Special greetings to Op as well. I came across this thread yesterday and followed ALL 30 pages but no one asked or answered the questions I have in mind. Please help
1. The UK visa fee was clearly stated as 610gbp for 3 years. My question is how much is each dependant to pay Spouse /children.

2. The IOM testing centre is it ONLY in Lagos.

PLEASE informed answers are very much appreciated.

Thanks

1. Kindly state what Visa you wish to apply for. That will determine the cost as it varies across different categories

2. IOM testing centres are located in both Lagos and Abuja.

She will write the IELTS next month but do you mean to say that she can get a job as a Nursing assistant or healthcare assistant without the IELTS & also move to the UK if she satisfies all requirement’s?
NB: Its her 1st trial with the exam & I can feel her anxiety that’s why she also wants to try this route because she wan japa frm naija. That’s just the koko.

I need you to understand me very well.

1. For her to get a job as a Healthcare Assistant in the UK, she doesn't need to write IELTS. Unless she plans to become a registered nurse in the UK, then she needs IELTS for UKVI.

2. For her to apply for a Visa to move to the UK, she needs IELTS for UKVI or ECCTIS (NARIC) evaluation of Bachelors degree.

3. She cannot apply for Visa (Skilled worker or Health and Care) unless she has a job in the UK.

4. There is no need rushing her to do the IELTS. Let her be calm and take her time to study. 85k no be joke. She needs to be adequately prepared before going for it

Good afternoon everyone. Please i need advice. One of my bro applied health care job in UK for me. He base there. Am in Nigeria. They called and said I should go to hospital and get a reference letter from a Dr to include in my CV else they won't agree to give out jobs if the person don't have care work experience. Though my course is biochemistry BSc but u know Nigeria.. where I found work is water company. My question is.. hope they won't ask me to perform one practical concerning health care or ask me questions that side if I bring the reference letter. Or should I go to the hospital and get some experience with them before they call me for video interview. Advice pls. Who have experience this

Get the required healthcare experience or else, you will be sent back to Nigeria if they find out that you falsified information.

Good Day Guys,Please I need more clarifications here. My wife is a certified Registered Nurse here in Nigeria. We’re still a young family with a 1year old son. She really wants us to relocate especially as everyone has been advising her about it and I actually want that also. She has booked her date for her IELTS exam which would be coming up next month by God’s Grace, someone also advice that she can apply for a job as a carer in a nursing home or something similar as they don’t require the English test but your qualifications. I like the idea because she’s really overwhelmed by the IELTS exam & really wants to travel. My question now is, Is it possible she can get a carer job from Nigeria? Can you kindly recommend agencies we can apply to for help?
Thank you. I’ll be in the comment sections.

IELTS is still required for Visa Application so she would still need to write it. However, she can apply for Health care assistant and Nursing assistant jobs pending the time she will become a UK registered Nurse.
