Hello, please I have been applying for care jobs in the UK via Trac and Scotjob sites. The unsuccessful job mails have been frustrating.

What could I be doing wrong? I need help. I have taken several care courses and have a care experience here in Nigeria.

I know someone who has been applying to NHS organisations for care roles as well but has not been successful despite having 2 interviews so far. The recruiters simply claim the Band she's applying for (Band 4) is not high enough to warrant sponsorship from abroad (which is a lie). Some use the Red-list excuse. What I always advise her to do is to keep applying. All the setbacks won't matter when you get one 'Congratulations' email.

What you can do is to keep proof-reading your CV and supporting information. Make it as comprehensive and grammatical error-free as possible. Joy is coming soon.

In addition, Care roles are not the only jobs available in the UK. Check for other roles that you may be qualified for, you may just be surprised at what you will find.

I hope this helps

Good morning, please I have an interview with NHS blood and transplant and I need help with preparing for the interview, please any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. Thanks

- Read (if possible, CRAM) the values of the NHS organisation you're applying to.

- Go through the job description and ensure that you have a practical knowledge of all that is ESSENTIAL for your position. Watch Youtube videos and read books to gain theoretical knowledge of what you don't have practical knowledge of, especially the DESIRABLE aspect.

- Be confident in yourself, speak clearly and do not fear. You'll be interviewed by human beings not God.

- Whatever you don't know, don't be afraid to say you don't know. It's better than lying. Your interviewers will probably have 20 or more years of experience in the job so they can detect your lies easily.

- Prepare questions to ask the interviewers cos they will ask if you have any questions. Make sure the questions are centred around your career/professional development on the job. You can also ask when they will get back to you but that should be the last question.

- Lastly, this interview is not a do or die affair. The fact that you got this one means you are good enough to get many more interviews. It can either be a blessing or a lesson to learn from.

Wishing you the best of luck in your interview. I'm rooting for you.

Is it possible to use expired TB certificate. It expired today and I am suppose to apply for VISA this month. Though I have trying to book but no near slot.

If you have all your documents, start your visa application now, book your biometrics, pay your visa fee and upload all your documents. This way, you're covered.

If you do not have all your documents, upload the ones you have, then pay for assisted service on the day of your biometrics to upload what is left.

If your CoS and/or Proof of English proficiency is/are not ready, then you may to take another TB Test

I hope this helps

Hello guys, please UKVI is requesting that my niece of 7 years show evidence that she was born on her said date of birth. We are having this problem cus the date of birth on her certificate was different from the date it was issued.

This is basically for the fact that there was an addition to her surname which the former birth certificate did not have, and on issuing the new one, there was discrepancy in the date of issuance and date of birth. Can she swear an affidavit as to the differences in both dates on her cert? Should she submit the former cert and explain why she had to do a new one?

But why the difference in names? Anyway, extend the affidavit to cover the fact that both names belong, to her in addition to covering the difference in dates

I am just returning from an interview, but the fact about this place from my personal point of view( All things being equal), YouKay can never be like Naija in terms of opportunities.

In Naija, if you manages to get capital, you can start anything.
Here, you'd have to have rentage money for months, meanwhile it's very hard to know your targeted customers would be.

Nobody talks to anybody or greets anybody. Even if you greet them they'll be too focused on their own movements than responding.

To get Ā£1=N1,000 is same as in Naija, no free money anywhere. Some people that claimed they have a company are just gathering desperate people to go get free money and they'd only be paid if they succeeds .

Wahala plenty, I dey look into Care Support and other matter. I want go clean nyash if that's what brings in Ā£ oOo.
E done Zeh!
I believe if Naija is retouched, starting with a good transportation channels, and them stopping the everyday devaluation, we are better off.

You could not have said it any better bro. That's why I would always say that if you have it going well for you in Naija, no need to use your money buy one useless job here. But a lot of people assume that one is just being selfish or trying to discourage others.

Experience is definitely the best teacher. Thanks for sharing yours. May the land always be in your favour

Good day house
Please my sister received this nsf mail for her kids application. What does she have to do. She submitted divorce certificate and sole custody letter in her application. She is not in good terms with ex hubby and can't get his passport data page requested. Please helpšŸ™

Your application is being assessed under paragraph SW 30.1 to SW 30.2. The Immigration Rules require that the applicantā€™s parents must each be either applying at the same time as the applicant or have permission to be in the UK (other than as a visitor) unless:

(a) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker is the sole surviving parent; or
(b) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker has sole responsibility for the childā€™s upbringing; or
(c) the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who has permission as a Skilled Worker.

I note that your Mother currently has a Skilled Worker visa. However your Father currently does not have permission to be in the UK. I further note that your parents are divorced. As things currently stand, your case would stand for refusal.

Please can you provide additional evidence / information which shows that you will meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules? I.e. does your Mother have sole responsibility for your care? (if so, please provide official supporting evidence)

We would also require evidence to support suitable arrangements for your care and accommodation in the UK, which must comply with relevant UK legislation.

OR

If your Mother does not have sole responsibility of your care then please provide:

ā€¢ Evidence to support suitable arrangements for your care and accommodation in the UK, which must comply with relevant UK legislation.
ā€¢ A letter of consent from your Father plus a copy of the bio data page of their passport or other official government identity document containing their signature.

The sole custody letter your sister submitted, is it from a competent COURT OF LAW? If yes, you can submit it again along with proof of accommodation and care plan for the children since only one parent will be with the children in the UK and the said parent will be working as well (i.e who cares for the children when Mummy is at work?)

If the sole custody letter is not from a competent court of law, then you will need to get one from the courts.

If the above is not possible, then you have to get a letter from Daddy granting mummy the permission to take the children to the U.K + biodata page of daddy's passport.

If non of these can be done, then UKVI will assume mummy wants to take the children to the U.K against Daddy's wishes (child trafficking) and will most likely deny the children's visas.

I hope this is well explained and hope it helps as well

It would have been better if your flight landed in Cardiff so you would have been closer. It looks like your best option is to go by coach, from the angle of balancing cost and convenience. However, if you have a lot of money to spare, take a Taxi, probably Uber XL..

I hope this helps

If you can give the name of the city you're going, then it will be easier to guide you on the best option. If not, then go by coach. Quantity of luggage is not a problem as long as it is stated in your booking.

"Do you have a degree equivalent to a UK bachelors degree that was taught in English?"

The answer to this for me is YES because I do have. Degree. Sometimes these people can make things just so ambiguous. Was I supposed to tick NO?

How did you know that your Nigerian degree is equivalent to a UK degree? What proof do you have?

ONLY ECCTIS can prove this. If you do not have ECCTIS, the answer to that question is a big fat NO.

What to do? Cancel your application and reapply OR go and apply for ECCTIS. Your choice.

My wife is the MA. She's traveling by June to the UK. I want to join her with the children by December and I want to apply for dependant visas for myself and the kids by September.
Her COS had Maintenance ticked.
Will I need to show proof of funds when I apply by September or does her COS still covers us for the rest of her visa?
If not, will she need to show proof of funds to support our application?

Hello everyone
I applied for a job, and this is the mail I got. Can someone explain please.

Having reviewed your CV we can
see that you reside in a country listed on the 'WHO
Red and Amber List Countries' as deemed by the
World Health Organisation. Unfortunately, this
means we are not permitted to actively recruit from
your country and therefore, we cannot accept your
application. Please refer to the following link for
more information: WHO Red / Amber listed
countries
We will keep you on our records so that if there is
any change in the WHO listing, we can get in touch
with you to see if you are still looking for a role at
that point.

Send this to them via email, let's see what their response will be.

"Dear .................,

Thank you for your feedback on my application for the post of .............. at ................... Working with .................... would be a dream come true for me and your email came as a setback towards actualising that dream.

However, I wish to bring to your notice that, according to the information available on the UK Government website via the link attached to your email, the definition of Direct Application is stated as follows:

ā€œFor the purpose of this code of practice, a ā€˜direct applicationā€™ is when an individual makes an application directly and on their own behalf to an employing organising. Direct applications do not use a third party, such as a recruitment organisation, agency or collaboration.
Individual health and social care employers may consider direct applications from individuals who are resident in countries on the WHO Health Workforce Support and Safeguards List 2023[footnote 1] (see ā€˜Annex A: red and amber list countriesā€™ below) if they have made a direct application to a vacancy at their organisation.
A direct application can only be made in response to a vacancy that is hosted by, and recruited to, the same sponsoring organisation.ā€

This shows that, ....................... will not be ethically irresponsible if they accept applications from healthcare workers from my country of residence as long as they apply via Direct Application.

In view of this, since I have applied to ............................. via Direct Application, I would be glad if you kindly review your position on not accepting my application and grant me the opportunity to showcase my skills and knowledge in an interview for the advertised position. Thank you

Kind regards, "

Don't forget to edit appropriately.

I hope it helps

You need to explain why your child has a different surname to you and your wife together with undeniable proof that she's your child. Without these, any VO will assume that you're trying to bring another person's child as your dependant

Hello oga sirs and bosses mas. Please is Egypt Air good to fly with?

I'm not so new on this page. Been following and learning quietly. I'll also share my visa and brp testimony so people can learn a thing or 2 (I've been too 'excited' to put all my words together) but please share your sincere thoughts about Egypt Air. Ɖ dakun

When I was trying to book my flight last year, I did my research on Egypt Air from reviews on Nairaland but the reviews were not pleasant. However, I cannot say if they are better now but be rest assured that a lot of people fly Egypt Air daily.

My recommendation: If you cannot afford Direct flights (BA and VA), I would greatly recommend Turkish Airways and Qatar Airways. Your UK visa is enough requirements to fly. If you can get a Schengen Transit visa, go for Lufthansa, KLM or Air France. If you cannot afford any of these, try Air Maroc, RwandAir or Ethiopian Airlines. Consider Egypt Air as a last resort. #MyOpinion

Good day everyone, please after the 5yrs visa expires, is the renewal or PR automatic?
Then, is it advisable to resign ones over 300k job here and follow this route. Please i need clarification.

Whatever application or renewal you want to do, you have to pay for it. In case of ILR, it costs over Ā£2,000. Renewing your visa depends on how long you want to renew for.

Over 300k/month job is over 3.6million naira per year, which sounds like a very good pay as long as you can comfortably afford your rent and other basic needs. In my honest opinion, unless you find a higher paying job in the UK (not the one you have to pay Ā£10k for CoS), I will strongly advise you stay back and enjoy your life. There are so many other benefits you will get to enjoy back in Nigeria that you may not get here in the UK which I won't want to start mentioning so that it does not sound cliche.

However, if you can take your time to search for jobs, send out applications, take care courses and ace your interviews, then the sky will be your limit. No need for desperation.

DO NOT SELL YOUR HOUSE, CAR, FAMILY HOUSE, FAMILY MEMBERS AND OTHER PROPERTIES JUST TO BUY C.O.S. YOU WILL MOST LIKELY REGRET IT!!!

Good morning everyone. I'm very new here. I'm a registered nurse working here in Nigeria. I plan relocating to the UK via the Healthcare assistant visa, then finish up my OSCE in the UK and get my RN PIN to practice as Band 5 Nurse. Please has anyone here ever tried this route before? If yes, how feasible is it? I'm not in a haste to leave Nigeria, as I work in an oil company.

I just wanna be sure that I'm making the right decision, don't wanna be suck in another man's land. All suggestion would really be appreciated.

Thank you

It's very feasible. I have heard of a Medical Doctor who went as Healthcare Assistant just so they can raise money for PLAB. If you're a RN as you claim and have a very good number of years of experience, you can apply to NHS Trusts that are still recruiting from abroad as an Healthcare Assistant. They can even assist you in getting your UKRN licence.

I have also heard that working as a Healthcare assistant sometimes pays better than a Band 5 Nurse (when you consider the availability of long shifts, overnight shifts, lower tax band). In all, I would advise that you research extensively so as to be sure that being in Nigeria won't be better for you financially than moving to the UK since you're working in an oil company.

I hope this helps

Hi Nairalanders I have a question that concerns my personal person ooo..he has BRP and he was in the UK last month but presently in Nigeria, just last week the license of the Sponsor was revoked and he wants to travel to the UK next week. Please all the Guru in the house can he travel with his BRP? . Is going for 10 days. Can he enter the UK ?

Its a 50/50 situation. The rule says he has 60 days to leave or find another job after expiry of visa. Which means his BRP should be valid for 60 days after the company lose their licence. Not sure about this but he can still go ahead to travel.

At worst, he can claim at POE that his reason for returning is to remove his personal effects from the UK and plans to return immediately, if he encounters any issues. A return ticket would make it more convincing.

Please, house, I have an important question to ask.

I was contacted by a hospital in the UK for a job as a laboratory officer. They even linked me to the British embassy which has been sending me mails.

The embassy asked my employer in the UK to pay a visa reg fee of 1350 pounds for me and they paid and sent me the payslip to sent to the embassy.
The embassy now asked me to pay for a BTA of 500 pounds in naira through my Nigerian account and the money ll be issued to me through a travellers cheque when I come for my visa appointment.

They said they won't give me an appointment until I pay the money into their account.
I complained to my employer in the UK, but he sent me mail saying payment of BTA is my responsibility.
I don't know whether all these are genuine cos how can they waste 1350 pounds just like that? Please someone should advise me appropriately. No insults, pls.

SCAM!!!.
- What time does embassy have to be sending you email personally to put in your application?
- Besides, British embassy does not handle visa application, TLSContact does.
- Also, BTA is for those on visit visa not those on work visa and its Banks that issue BTA not embassy.
- Visa fee no even reach 1350 Pounds
Too many RED FLAGS.

Don't you dare fall for it
