One day, voters will be wise to know these are not noble men but desperate human beings looking for 'guess what'! Is Nigeria ripe for genuine democracy? |
Anything AB seems to be a problem to the country. The problems of the country started apparently at the same time the city came to be. That was when a building that should have cost 3 million was awarded for 30 million. Once the habitants smelt money they never looked back. The scale has gone up ever since and now they are reported to collect billions without even going to site. It soon became the habitation of all the corrupt ex-this and ex-that. Once we solve the AB problem the country will know some sanity. |
It is not a must to make comments, so you avoid talking nonsense. I think this statement is unwise. You spend billions running around the world for investors only to FRUSTRATE them to leave after a few years. There are several that are exiting quickly in the last few years. All the gains under OBJ are being scattered away carelessly. All the efforts for Pan-African economic integration is being rubbished. BAD POLICIES - That is the cause. This administration has so called experts going round to talk talk talk about EASE OF DOING business. Yet, it has not at any time been more difficult for both small and large businesses here. Exploitation, insecurity, obnoxious levies and taxes - unpreditable business environment, corruption etc. When are we going to start? |
AmuDimpka:Not as simple as that, if you understand Nigeria. They dont use a port because the port is nice or because it has a lot of facilities. Some of those Eastern ports may be dredged and developed but as long as they dont have a lot of cargoes anyone who takes his cargo there is made to be pay double, triple or more...Its like driving from Ikeja to Lekki where you dont see any 'official' on the road but try drive to a village in a neighbouring state and you will be counting checkpoints. Thats the problem. That is why cargoes for Eastern markets are also dropped in Lagos. ports. |
JesusJesus:So, China is the friend of peace? Majority of Americans are behind DT on the Hong Kong matter, and on the spying allegations. They would have criticised him if he looked away. |
By over-taxing the citizenry to pile up monies for the NDDCs of this world to mismanage or loot! |
What is the basis for the call? Can they explain? There is no nation that changes her war generals in the middle of a war! The enemy can take advantage and make deep in-roads while the new ones take their time as 'learners' in their new roles. |
For so long we have been hearing of missing millions, and then it got to billions, and now they have graduated to trillions. The self-styled and shameless political leaders and godfathers just simply want to plunder the country to death. And what do they spend the money on? Mistresses, concubines, estates, apart from the ones they have piled up in their roofs! |
Nigerian politicians have failed the country very woefully. In spite of Covid-19, all you read in the news these days is about billions upon billions upon billions that are missing or cannot be accounted for. Is Nigeria a failed state? In the midst of the nonsensities, the president and the vice have gone so cold quiet. |
Anytime I hear, house of reps probes......I have a feeling straightaway that they have started their game again. There was a house! |
paulolee:Find grace at the feet of the cross. Lay it down there. Every man must start from there. No amount of self-will can prevent falling but grace certainly can. make an attempt to repeatedly look for the grace. Cry out for it till you lay hands upon it. Grace is the weapon you receive from God to overcome the evils of this world. Grace says, because my Saviour paid the price, that precious price will not go in vain. Try to focus on the solution and not the problem. When Christ has released you from the prison dont walk in there with your own legs again. Your actions will feed your feelings. Remember also there is power in what you say. Speak to the object of temptation and sin, that you are no longer interested. Flee. |
ivandragon:I dont know the lady and I am not here to defend her. The reasoning you posted is not good. There are people who are not even in the university yet who have more than 50 million in their accounts. There are also people who do honest things and have good money. People who have hatred for good always repel good. People who believe in good attract good. Osinbajo was not a pauper before he came into government. The wife is a grand-daughter of Obafemi Awolowo for crying out loud. Kiki is from Awolowo family. Do you think they are paupers? |
Magunomics! |

It is not good to call anyone a thief unless you have caught him stealing. May God forgive all accusers. |
the so called lawmakers have been one reason why democracy has not worked in Nigeria. they operate like hijackers or hackers they would hijack the budget process until.......... once they hear billions, they prepare their arms and ammunitions, ready to fight! they have chased many good professionals away from government. at state level or at federal levels they are the same apart from being some of the highest paid in the world, despite Nigeria being a poor country, they cannot but harass corporate executives, ministers through their useless committees. On top of that, they want the best jobs in banks, FIRS, CBN, NNPC, NIMASA, etc for their concubines, friends and cronies. at stale levels, they work hand in hand with governors to supervise the process of allotting the commonwealth of the people to themselves. before Covid, they were fond of travelling around the globe, to do what?.......... who will save Nigeria from these selfish men and women? There are some good ones among them definitely, but they seem to be too few. Just look at how adult were shouting at the chambers, they were threatening and RECKLESSLY ignoring social distancing rules. Shameful. |

. They have exactly DOUBLE the points of Arsenal as of today! Wow! That is brilliant. 86 to 43. |
Have we started exporting land-grabbing? |
WHEN POLITICIANS AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS ALWAYS SHOW THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW, THEY DO NOT REALISE THAT THEY ARE ALL THE TIME TRAINING THE POPULACE TO BE LAWLESS. NOW, THE RESULT IS LAWLESSNESS EVERYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. OUR LEADERS OR RULERS HAVE SUCCEEDED IN RELEGATING THE COUNTRY FROM THIRD WORLD TO FOURTH WORLD. |
Yankee101:That was meant for the masses. Are you a stranger in the country? |
Lagos cannot breathe! |
Genius is when your currency exchanges at 129 to the dollar and you manage to take it up to 450 in 5 years! |
Mrkcee:Everything is good on paper as long as it is not turned to another avenue for corruption. SON itself needs to qualify for a quality mark. Yes, SON itself needs to be certified before they go around certifying others. Do they collect money, tips, bribes from people before they do their jobs? Is their fair play and equity in what they do? If no, what morale do they have to certify others? Ask importers and they will tell you many stories. All goods are meant to be certified by International reputable inspection companies before they come to the shores of Nigeria. You pay a lot to get that certification, yet a whole lot of imports do not have that certification and they still manage to get into our markets! How, please ask SON. SON goes to warehouses to inspect them in order to certify AGAIN the second time. How many warehouses do they check? Only those who comply with the first one. What does that tell you? Those who do the right things get punished! They can pick expensive items during inspection, in the guise of going to TEST them in their lab. What lab? After the first inspection where they ask the inspection agent to open up the factory to check the products. That makes it check number 3. Who pays? The consumer ultimately does. So, how would they make this new one work? Is this not room to go about harassing small scale businesses? The problem with our country is that we just keep harassing small businesses and we still wonder why they do not last! Go to America and see family businesses that have been there for more than 100 years. Why kill the chicken that lays the egg? SON has to undergo the toughest scrutiny before it can scrutinize others. The organisation has to be totally graft-free for it to be fair. And what they apply for one must apply for all. That is how to bring fairplay, equity to the market and that is how they can promote commerce. |

Airplanes do not have reverse gears. |
FarahAideed:Plandemic you mean? |
The corruption in this country is truly and enormously fantastic. |
Where is the governor that was climbing trailers the other day? Has he not moved his office to the border post? People forming everywhere. They all want to become president of a lawless state they helped to create! |
