The stamp duty is a form of tax on bank transactions. Now, even POS transactions are taxed. The nation must demand for full disclosure of how much has been raised so far. How can a country keep borrowing, keep increasing taxes, and still not able to meet very basic re-current needs.? How? Please somebody needs to explain! 1 Like |

Africans have surrendered to self-colonisation as a result of our unbridled appetite for strange foreign products such as human air. I hope that African leaders will unanimously ban this product in all African countries. Most South-Easterners living in South West today came in the last 10 years or so and have not taken time to understand Yorubas. They are fond of always citing BAT. If they care to know, BAT, is only smart to develop a party structure that he has managed to dominate. If he is that accepted among Yorubas, Makinde or Akeredolu will not be governors today. And if you care to know, PDP is very weak in Lagos because they never have strong credible candidates. Agbaje, knowing he could not garner enough votes from his kinsmen, started appealing to Easterners in Lagos. The hatred for BAT just grew among the easterners because SW people resisted that move and in defeat the only thing left is for them to label Yorubas as BAT slaves! Something that is far from the truth, and that even BAT knows quite well. South Easterners do not realize that APC has so many members in Lagos who are party faithfuls, and they are strong enough to win elections, even if non-party members refuse to vote! Stop attaching everything Yoruba to BAT! Anyone doing that is ever ignorant of Yoruba culture, their strengths and failings. Is Chief Bode George not a notable Yoruba man? When he was sentenced was there any protest anywhere? Why they always bring BAT into any argument beggars belief! I think some people thought they could take over Lagos through the back door and they are yet to wake up from the defeat that befell them. Why would a state arm of a party be condemning the Judiciary just because one person is being questioned? Is he guilty of what he is accused of? And by the way, if BAT and the people he has sponsored did not develop Lagos, will there be the kind of influx you have into the city today? Call him any name you want, the man is smart enough to fight for his kinsmen and also to promote progressive and developmental policies that even other states are now struggling to copy. For that alone, he will continue to get audience when he speaks. Any other governor, or past governor who has that push for the development of his state will get similar audience. Can you mention their names if there are such governors? If you cant, why always bring BAT into any argument? This story is about Abia, so people should speak about ABia. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Sin is the root of all problems. I this long mail, you can see lies, corruptly bribing officials, deceit and manipulation. More than ten percent of children moving around belong to another father apart from the ones they call theirs. It is said to be even more than that. A man raised up three children to adulthood only to know afterwards that none of them were biologically his. It is a world of sin and deceit. The biggest deceit of all is for anyone to think that he does not need salvation. Romans 6:23 must be embraced by all: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Accept Jesus into your life today. Just invite him in by confessing your sins and by inviting Him to come into your heart. 8 Likes |

I will call her on phone to come back home from wherever she is, hug and kiss her, reassure her of my love for her; prepare her favourite meal, and make the bed for her to sleep. We will look for the way forward afterwards ranging from sending her abroad to counselling. You know why? She needs me now more than ever. The whole world is against her. The hypocrites. I will be with her now! Another option is to disown her, let her go into depression and may be suicide. I choose the former, first option. Wisdom is profitable to direct! --- Everything you said is right, apart from calling people hypocrites. You need to own up to your mistakes and not pass judgement on others. The parents have been quiet. They may have done that out of wisdom. The young lady too is quiet. Some people may have counselled her. The wise step is repent genuinely, seek good counsel and with courage start again. There is a future for everyone in God after true repentance. 1 Like |

Psoul: Do you mind the funny arguments people are making there? Even if a husband and wife go public with their adult acts they will still be sanctioned! Making the film and contributing to it being circulated is not different from going to do adult acts in front of the university's senate building, in front of the whole school. I dont subscribe to crucifying the lady but at the same time the school had no option than to take the action they took. |

osazsky: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/nov/19/police-chief-convicted-for-having-child-sex-abuse-video-on-phone-robyn-williams This is the account of a Police Chief in the UK being convicted. She did not know about the image. It was sent to her by someone. She even argued she did not open it on her phone. The mere sighting of the image on her phone led to her conviction. That is for those who are citing UK and US! They have very little tolerance for some things! Her real offence was that she did not report when she got the image. No one should crucify this Babcock student. No one should crucify the school either. If she had made a report when she knew the video could go out the school may have spared her. 1 Like |

osazsky: Many people commenting have not read the release made by the school. This is the bad thing about social media. People talk without listening. The school has not said that they were expelled because of adult acts. As you said, filming of adult acts with an intent to circulate, and actual circulating of such is a crime anywhere. The film could only have originated from the two people there! So, if they both knew of the intention to circulate and did not report at the point, the school has no choice than to apply penalties. Instead of further arguments, people should rather focus on how to help these young ones involved. 1 Like |

Education / Re: Leaked Sex Tape: Why Babcock University Reserves The Right To Expel Student by Dee60: 8:47am On Nov 21, 2019 |
Most comments are out of point. 1. The school has not stated why the student was expelled. They have only said that she was expelled after investigations. In a way, that is soft on the student. 2. Did she know that she was being recorded? If yes, she has taken part in the production of a pornographic film. 3. Did she know there was a threat to send the video to other parties? If yes, why did she not report at that point? That may have been her error. If it was dealt with at that point, the school may have been lenient on her, but she may be said to have contributed in a way to the distribution of that video in the school. 4. The school cannot stop adult acts and will not expel because of adult acts. 5. The school can however frown at production and distribution of adult acts. They are right to look for where it started and to take actions they deem fit. 6. In this case they have chosen to expel. This is what they have chosen to do to serve as deterrent. No law court can stop them doing this. The school as a legal entity has its own rules. 7. The Counselling unit of the school should handle the 'counselling issues' with the students, so that they can be rehabilitated and helped even after the expulsion. |

I think the state has no business looking for AC manufacturers to come to Lagos. First, GREE already has its products here. Secondly, with the high cost of power and high cost of doing manufacturing in Lagos, Gree maybe making a mistake setting up a plant. They should go and find out how their competitors burnt their fingers by taking the same step. Our governor needs to leave private business for private people and instead face the huge problem of commuting in Lagos. Sir, while you are travelling, Lagos is melting under unbearable road traffic. Ours must now be the city with the worst road traffic in the world. 1 Like 1 Share |
