These banks never learn their lessons. UBA did it and it failed woefully. Go there on Monday and see if there is anything going on there. Nigerian big boys dont go to banking halls!

Inconsistent CAF. Stop shaming Africa. You should know your rules and apply as is instead of going back and forth.

Politics › Re: Fashola Chides Critics Over ‘borrowing For Development by Dee60: 10:23am On Feb 01, 2013
We are not economic illiterates. Lagos is borrowing anyway. If your contractors deliver jobs and you do not pay them on time, that is a form of borrowing. And there is plenty of that in Nigeria today. It is called domestic borrowing. For those using USA and Britain as examples, the difference is that over there the government cannot keep contractors money endlessly unless there is mutual agreement to re-structure the loans. Here, government borrows from its own people and refuse to pay, and they then come to you to approve their going abroad to borrow. It does not work that way, sir.
Politics › Re: Fashola Chides Critics Over ‘borrowing For Development by Dee60: 10:07am On Feb 01, 2013
It is all about trust. The people of the state do not want the government to borrow in order to enrich one asiwaju somewhere and leave Lagos bankrupt by 2015.

Finally, President Jonathan has followed OBJ's advice to apply 'carrot and stick'. So, why all the fuss against OBJ? The ceasefire is most welcome. JTF can now go after the criminal politicians who have been using BH as cover for their wicked acts. in the meantime, let proper education continue.

akin101: IF ONLY OUR GROUP OF CREDIBLE NIGERIANS COULD WAGE A MEDIA WAR AGAINST THE GOVT.

I mean if at least 15 to 30 respected nigerians go on public platforms and demand public scrutiny into just one aspect of governance, you will see how quick things will change!!!!!
You are very correct. But journalism has changed a lot. In those days, media houses were shut down for saying the truth. Now, they are paid for telling lies and dropping names!
Politics › Re: $67B Reserves: Ezekwesili Challenges Maku To Public Debate by Dee60: 8:52am On Jan 29, 2013
President Jonatahn, Okupe, Abati should join Maku to face her. It will be the case of David flooring the bear, the lion and the Goliath! Jonathan's administration has been grossly wasteful. Only Okonjo-Iweala is doing all she could to pull the breaks. You can imagine Dieziani protesting to the President to have more subsidies paid out when it was obvious a good part of the marketers had no claims and should in fact be refunding to the government. You can imagine NNPC under tthis administration going for billions of dollars in loans to pay marketers just because Okonjo would not release until subsidies are verified. GEJ should just be careful that his aides dont push him to political oblivion.

Sports › Re: Zambia Vs Nigeria (AFCON 2013) (1 - 1) On 25th January 2013 by Dee60: 7:11pm On Jan 25, 2013
COOLDUN: I have a word of advice for you, according by Idi Amin Dada of Uganda, he said that the best way to silence a biased referee in the boxing ring is to win your opponent by a Technical Knockout, remember that before Idi Amin became a soldier he was the Ugandan and Common Wealth Heavy weight boxing champion. This his wise rule goes to every sports and entire life struggles. Nigeria supposed to beat their opponents beyond referee’s control by scoring as many goals they can, I personally see Nigeria national team as a bad workman who always quarrels with his tools. The decay in the Nigeria systems/sectors is a true reflection of what we are witnessing today.

I am very happy that sports is a success we witness physically and not documentarily. Our economy is only growing faster in the pages of newspapers, and the eyes of our Western economical colonial masters but the impacts are never seen or felt by the people. You can never market a well and best polished bad commodity, no matter how smart you might think you are. Nigerians were celebrating and living on the past glories while other countries in Africa were busy building and preparing for their futures. We have to adopt tailors system in Nigeria, by cutting the material before sewing. Many things have to be crushed before we can reconstruct them. You can never build a new house on top of an old building. Till then expect more HBP and disgrace from every tournament.

Olympic has come and gone, our woeful performance has been forgotten, every focus is on the football till next two weeks to the next Olympic then we shall start our fire brigade preparation again, our female football is dead too, the recent performances of all our female football teams has been put aside, while waiting for another disgrace and disasters in their next outings, then we shall lament again and wait for another lamentation because it is our national trade mark nowadays. Crying and weeping over a situation we can collectively handle and make a change.

As we have not done anything to change our situation, we have to accept our present predicaments with good faith. Referees are not our problems but we the Nigerians .
You are spot on on the comments. The Western governments, wanting our crude, continue to praise us, and talk about how well we are doing. Its all diplomatic talk. Behind us, they are talking about how stupidly we behave!
Sports › Re: Zambia Vs Nigeria (AFCON 2013) (1 - 1) On 25th January 2013 by Dee60: 7:08pm On Jan 25, 2013
Nigeria got a penalty which was played wide, and no one blamed the referee for awarding that penalty. Later on, Zambia got a penalty which was SO BEAUTIFULLY converted and the whole nation wants the head of the referee! The morale is, you have 90 minutes to win convincingly, otherwise, you could blame yourself afterward. Lets look to the next game which is now a MUST WIN for Eagles (no super!). I like what Keshi said. No team is small, and every game must be taken seriously.

Nigeria is wobbling at everything. As it is with our democracy, so it is with our judiciary, our economy and our sports. We need a national rebirth. O God,save Nigeria.

I am sure that more than half of our fashionista bankers would not even understand this long grammar not to talk of the banking public. Please tell us in simple terms! Sanusi is trying hard to stop laundering by our politicians, but he may be punishing the ordinary Nigerian in the process, while the corrupt boys continue to do their dollar banking with mallams at the airports!
Politics › Re: How GEJ/Yaradua Spent $67Billion by Dee60: 11:01am On Jan 25, 2013
I foresee a scenario playing out. The oil thieves and the corrupt politicians capitalize on the weakness of the present administration to loot money, and convince the president not to probe them....and the same people join the next government with their money power and convince that government to prosecute the president (ex president). Jonathan had better be wise...This is the time to deal with corruption and get our money back, otherwise the same people you are protecting will turn their backs tomorrow and deal with you!

Wadeoye: I agree. We need the likes of Fashola in Aso Rock. Let him start with VP to Buhari. After Buhari's 4 years, Fashola can take over as president for 8 years.
So that we can have 5000 toll gates in Nigeria, and make some political godfathers become dollar multi-billionaires!

The West should stop buying stolen crude - Why do we always blame others for our own woes? I think the answer is that Nigeria should police its borders, period!

As journalists they have done their bit, moreso when the President has now visited. Let us see what the FG will do to tthat college and to several police installations in the country that are in TERRIBLE inhabitable conditions. The president needs to also pay unscheduled visit to some barracks to see how narrow and dirty toilets have been converted to bedrooms! Our politicians do not seem to have a clue of what is going on in Nigeria.

They have only just played one match, and they did not lose the match. Why the holla? First matches are usually very tough because of the tension!
