Terms like "inflation" and the "devaluing of the naira" are the usual buzz answers to that question. Also, people give the example that if we were to print more money and just give everyone N5,000,000 for example, then everyone would go out and buy things, thus making "THINGS" more scarce and in short supply and hence driving up the prices of things (simple demand/supply economics). But herein lies the catch for me... With TRUE unemployment rate somewhere around 33% in the country, if DEMAND for "THINGS" rose, then I would think that companies would WANT to hire more people and build more processing plants to keep up with demand and raise their profits. So, the influx of cash (printed money) would seem to solve the unemployment problem.
Again, we have agencies that regulates pricing in the economy: PPPRA, Price Control Board (Ministry of Commerce) etc, with those, can't the likely over pricing of commodities (THINGS) be controlled and gazetted to avoid the story of "too much money chasing fewer goods"?
In the final analysis, a robust and health competitive economy would have been created and underemployment issues largely solved.

The remains of a 'female vampire' pinned to the ground by a sickle across her throat and a padlocked toe to 'prevent her returning from the dead' have been found in a village in Poland.
Discovered during archaeological work at a 17th century cemetery in the village of Pien, researchers also found the skeletal remains had a silk cap on its head, indicating she had held a high social status, and a protruding tooth.
Team leader Professor Dariusz Poliński from the Nicholas Copernicus University in the nearby city Torun said the form of burial was unusual.
He said: 'Ways to protect against the return of the dead include cutting off the head or legs, placing the deceased face down to bite into the ground, burning them, and smashing them with a stone.
'The sickle was not laid flat but placed on the neck in such a way that if the deceased had tried to get up most likely the head would have been cut off or injured.'
He added that the padlocked big toe on the skeleton's left foot likely symbolised 'the closing of a stage and the impossibility of returning.'

It is not uncommon the region to find burial sites where a metal rod - or a steak - have been hammered through the skull of the deceased. People at the time believed this was one way to ensuring the person stayed dead.

Sickles were found pressed against the throats of an adult man, who was between 35 to 44 years old, and an adult woman around 35 to 39 years old.
An older woman, who was 50 to 60 years old when she died, was buried with a sickle laying across her hips, and a medium sized stone at her throat.
Two more graves, both with sickles placed at the throats of the skeletons, revealed an adult woman between 30 and 39 years old, and a young girl who was just 14 to 19.
The researchers who made the discovery said at the time: 'When placed in burials they were a guarantee that the deceased remained in their graves and therefore could not harm the living, but they may also have served to protect the dead from evil forces.
'According to folk wisdom, a sickle protected women in labour, children and the dead against evil spirits.
'It also had a role in rituals designed to counter black magic and witchcraft.'
The latest discovery has now been sent to Torun where archaeologists will carry out further research.

And I have been actively searching and applying for job online, To the glory of God, on the evening of 29/03/2022, I check my email and behold an interview invite from a big oil company the interview is to hold on First week of April, so I printed the interview invite and I wrote “What God cannot do does not Exist” #NSPPD
On the interview date, I attended the interview via virtual. The interview went well as I was interviewed by whitemen and on April 3rd again I received another job interview invite from another company schedule for Second week of April, we had the interview and it also went well and in few days, the second company I had interview with offered me employment I was so happy and am to resume in May.,
I resume my new job second week of May, Just few days after my resumption, I got another job interview invite from another big oil company and because I was still on induction with the new company I then tell them to postpone it to ending of May which they did I then attended the interview on the new date and it went very well also I wasn’t really worried if the two other companies got back to me or not because I already started a new job.
few days later last oil company I had interview with contacted me with salary offer the salary was good but I just declined it I don’t really know what came over me so just first week of June, again same company offer me another salary increment and I accepted It and signed the offer and contract documents while they are preparing me to resume at third week of June, The first oil company I had interview with, contacted me and offer me double of what the two company gave me I couldn’t believe my eyes I didn’t waste time to accept and they ask when I would like to resume so I told them in a month time.
On the plea that I want to give a one month notice to my present employer which they accepted (and so I fit also collect one more salary b4 I resign ), after the signing of the contract the second I was to resume with in June call me and told me to resume since I have accepted the second salary they offer to me, I humbly reply them that while waiting for their response I got engaged with other activities and thank them for contacting me and finding me fit for the role.
In a space of three months I switched in between two big oil company and I declined one. The Lord has Favour me...It can only be God
