brogxy: I don't know how Uber operates but I had an experience where the I was the fourth driver that called that got his request. He was surprised when I told him I wasn't the one he spoke with earlier because the last driver already told him he was on his way to him. Guess those drivers cancelled then the request went to another driver. I think this has happened like three time to me. Okay. I rest my case then |

Megadrop: Bro, go get ur facts right, ending a trip is different from cancelling a request. When a request is made from a rider and the closest driver accepts and cancels, the uber server will immediately assign the request to another driver that is close and if there's no driver within that axis then the rider is notified that u have cancelled and he/she will have to request again. That's why you keep getting same request from same rider when you cancel cos there's no driver close and it also accounts for some long pickup location. This is where you're getting it wrong, if a driver let's a request slide it will automatically go to another driver. That's because the first/closest driver didn't respond but once a driver accepts , that's the end of the search, if the driver cancels afterwards that rider will have to make another request, app won't find another driver automatically |

Megadrop: No sir its not intentional, you are wrong sir. The reason why the drivers kept changing was that they were cancelling the request. Uber operates like this, when a request is cancelled by a driver the request goes to the next closest driver to the rider. So if you are a rider and u make a request and different drivers kept calling you just know it that they are cancelling/declining the request until it gets to who is willing to go on that trip. Hmmm I think you are the one who's wrong I've carried riders going to God forsaken areas and I had to negotiate offline and end trip with them already inside my car, you have to request again when a driver cancels on you |

Here is some proof
https://uberpeople.net/threads/we-have-matched-you-with-a-closer-rider-wth.131653/
When that happens it is confusing as hell, because you have already called your rider and you are on your way to them and then suddenly the trip changes (you may not even notice when that happens) and then suddenly somebody else is calling you and describing something else. It's also quite annoying. Okay now I somewhat believe, but this is Nigeria where most times seeing is the only believing |

taxiappguy: I'm not guessing. I'm saying my experience on the platform. Not once, not twice. You've been matched with a closer rider! So after accepting a request, they will now swap your rider with a closer one. Well I will believe when it happens to me lol |

joeokoriem: Not all drivers do salt n pepper stuff, yet price sky rocket. Took someone from yaba to LBS. The fare was 7k plus. To cut long story short, she paid 4k. I reported to uber then they adjusted the fare to 4k. I've seen such more than 5 times. Its the phone or GPS problem Uber will adjust your fare but won't adjust their initial commission. If you check the trip details I'm sure they still deducted 7k commission |

taxiappguy: Uber sometimes reassign trips based on proximity. So if you have received a request and a driver nearer to the rider becomes available. Uber can reassign that trip to him. It also happens when 2 riders request 2 drivers. Rider A is closer to Driver B and rider B is closer to Driver A. Uber can reassign both trips so both drivers don't have to drive long to pick both riders. No it doesnt work that way. Once u get a request then its yours and no one else's until either u or the rider cancels. Any other thing asides that is just a glitch |

busayo2uk: Any job offering u 40k today in Nigeria is planning to ruin your life as you cannot achieve anything with that amount and you cant have time to do something better for yourself. You can be better off as an uber driver than a 40k job in this nigeria of today. That is less than $150 in a whole month. I've been wondering why he's so determined to hang on to the 40k job, probably his crush works there too Or he's considering pension Labuleofnigeria my advice is.. Drop that 40k job like its hot, unless there's a sentimental value attached to it. You will make 40k in a week spending less time behind the wheel than you spend in the office |

Tgiirl: Heya!... I don't pick up at arrival, but I have picked up over 1000 riders from departure ( ie the fly over route) you are allowed to stay 2-5mins there.
Next time, just tell your rider to come up to departure by taking the stairs linking down to the park. And make sure he/she is upstairs at the departure b4 going there.
Also note that for drop off, go to departure but if the rider is going to the arrival just drive into the car park straight b4 you end the trip. Park fee will be added to riders fare straight up. And you can wait there for the next rider to request.
If you are already in the car park before a request comes in. Don't drive out of the car park to pick up. Walk out, trace the rider and take him/her to where you parked your car.
God bless y'all I think he said mm1 |

dapotemi: Please I need information on this issue. I have a car on ehailing with a driver for the last four month and he's trying for me to be honest. This morning around 8am, he called that police arrested him with the car for traffic offence. Rider decided to jump out of the bus due to mad traffic witness today in most part of lagos. He was arrested for that. He did all he could but the officer insisted that he won't release him, and that d case will go to court. The car was impounded and parked in front of their police station. I was called and I went there, offered everything I cud but d guy insisted, about 8 police traffic officer on one uber car. They wanted miney no doubt, but they also wanted to frustrate u first and later demand for one outrageous amount, that was their plan. The car key was seized but no doc was collected, I was there frm 10am to 1pm, I was really really angry. Then something struck my mind, the car was parked like 2 kilometers from where the officers were seated. I took a bike home, brought the second key and informed my driver to leave them alone and walk away. I just jejely carry my car with d second key and I left the other key with them. Guys wat do u think, any risk, do I have to do something or still reach out to the officer maybe like a month frm now. I need opinion, suggestion. Leave them alone, let them take the other key to court. Dumb policemen, they will never report it because it will make them look silly. I'm sure they don't even have the plate number |

Derayo01: ... Thanks bro...you think it's not possible! well that's how you see it! The problem most pilot have is them been desperate to drive with any prize/condition given to them by partners. At the same time partners also want to make money while most of them want quick money to buy another car withing a short period which I see it as a long term relationship business between the two parties pilots /partners but I blame no one but the app companies who give false hope of returns to partners... everything is business! This i Am telling you will only be understood by the experienced pilots , sometime pilots gain but brother i tell you he/she's gain is saved to keep the car in good shape except for the greedy pilots who careless! I have had one or two experience with partners but all i see is that all they talk about is their money, forgotten the risk and bad side of the business which pilots face everyday. I work hard the best way i can to please my partners but they refused to listen to we pilots advise better still they listen to their friends who tell them the business is rosy and their pilots are paying them regularly while pilots are different from one another and it's the pressure some have from partners that makes them work to the extreme tirelessly in order to meet up the demands and in the end they end up having accidents and so much more. Brother there are partners out there who would like to give out their good cars at that price to a good trust worthy pilots or even less (don't be surprised) but lies have filled the air about pilots some partners are also desperate about money and some listen outside the box. for now the business competition is not what it used be anymore. I believe you know all these and i hope you understand my few reasons and for my kind, I don't work under pressure because life is very important to and when a pilot dies he/she is gone while insurance repairs the car and it's back on the road with this pilots will want to be safe at all times that's the reason why pressure given by partners to their pilots leads to pilots dropping their cars... most pilots don't know what they want too it's when they are in they start seeing things themselves .(no doubt there are good and bad pilots). The truth is all these will keep going on like that only if pilots would think of themselves and the business with the partner been supportive in every way. I know of a partner as at October 2015 he has been collecting remittance of 30k on his cars of Toyota corolla 2012 and as of now he has given the car to the pilots who had driven it... here is understanding and support between the two parties... With my experience in this field i already know my capacity. If there is understanding and lesser greed in this business pilots and partners will always be happy with one another. Brother once more thanks for the good luck... (It's possible) I don't know about others, me I'm just counting how many times you mentioned pilot. 20 times!! Wow that's some kind of record |
