Maax23: This is ain't a sweet deal bro. N6,000,000 million car is not suitable for this business. Paying up will be really difficult. I call it a self induced slavery. Regardless of the cheap fares, there are so many uncertainties sorrunding this business. In this case only the wise excel. It's the sweetest deal for drivers on rentals. Moove will soon move out of the market with this unwise business idea of using brand new cars for uber. Drivers will cash out and abandon the cars when they finally succumb to evil roads and demonic floods |

Next thing police jump out from nowhere make I park. Na so I park, Olopa sharply enter my car.
Police: your offence is 50k..blah blah blah Me: Oga calm down, the other road is bad that's why i took this route.
Police: Drive go station... Taskforce go impound your car. Me: oga which way be your station Rider: please oga police I'm late, let me give you 2k for the troubles. Police: after initial gra gra collected the 2k and came down.
Me: madam rider thanks jare don't mind this police people. She just smiled.
Na so, I drop rider for her house, next thing I hear phone ringing under the front passenger seat.

I told him i can only give him 2K for recharge card so this time after initial gra gra and i stood my ground that i don't hv more than 2k, he later agreed and i was just like 2mins away to millennium estate this time he said i should go drop my rider and i drop him back as well, as i was abt to drive fast a Lexus jeep just cross me down, fear grip me say which kain wahala be dis , na so the man order all of us to come down from my car including my rider, he ask the lastma guy aggressively what my offence was and why he enter my car and directing me entering from street to street, this man ma police boss oooooooo. He said i shoud enter my car and go dat i should leave him and the lastma guy 2k sef he no seee collect ooooooo, e just be like film for my eye...lol Where's that person that said ALL men in uniform are MAD That's how one saved me too from RRS when I was still a newbie |

davit: From my experience, they are all MAD. Maybe you keep meeting the mad ones. If you meet literate and commissioned officers you'll see the difference. I've had an encounter with a colonel before, he hit my bumper from behind when both of us were trying to make a right turn from a double lane road into a single lane road. My bumper just press go inside small and his own car get scratches too. Next thing oga came down and changed it for me, later my rider got to know he was a colonel from their argument, the rider just came to whisper into my ears.. Na colonel o, mumu me, my friend's brother is a major so I no dey too fear soldiers. I told my rider colonel my foot, I'm calling my brother. I quickly called my friend, when my friend heard colonel he said o boy you go let this one slide o lol. I no know say colonel use 2 ranks senior major that time. In short, in order to save face, I couldn't just walk away because I was hell bent on making him pay for the repair, I just brought out my phone and started recording and narrating how it happened in the video, as I said because we don't know where this case will get to, the colonel just said which case, next thing he just went inside his car and gave me 2k. My rider come ask me whether the money go reach, madam e no reach wetin, abeg make we dey go High ranking officers don't want anything that their enemies at work will use against them, all these senior officers dey get caucus and plenty enemies within, that's why they're always staying away from trouble. If to say na boy boy soldier I for don chop slap too that day |

MedellinCartel: Good evening my people,
I've been following this thread for some time and honestly, some stories I read here are just heartbreaking. It's a crazy country we find ourselves but ahead ahead is the only way, may our efforts not be in vain.
My responsibilities have increased in recent times and I honestly need another source of income besides my currrent shift job. In this vein, I've been considering joining uber or bolt as a driver. I realise I need the right mentorship and playbook if i am to succeed this business.Below is my profile and I would like your honest advice on how I may proceed.
I run a one day, one night and two off shift at work. I have a Camry 2007 in good condition. I am not so conversant with Lagos road but I am excellent in using Google maps hence I hardly run into issues locating places here in Lagos. I have a young family, hence, driving at night isn't a top option for me.
Ps: how do you guys safeguard yourselves amidst this Corona virus pandemic? The car is yours so it's easy, you can use your off days at work to hustle with your car. Put into use all that you have learnt here. Just try as much as possible to avoid flood and bad roads. Don't pick/drop riders on major roads Avoid transfers and fake alerts As for our safety? It's in God's hands All the best |

coker007: To stop this case of fake alert or whatever is simple.
Simply go to your bank and request they only send you alert via email and not phone number since we usually have data most of the time and it's impossible to send a fake alert to your email. I don't even use the number associated with my accounts to call rider so of they're going to send fake alert they'll send it to my second number. Instant busting lol |

Godfather10: I remember l booked a trip to Namdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja, l think N3500, the driver started complaining abt the trip and even had the effrontery to ask me to pay a bit extra. I told him straight, you win some and lose some, you can’t expect to win all the time, then at the end of the trip I gave him a one star, if l was in London l would have reported him for fraud to get him blocked. l do the job in the U.K. and you dare not make such a ridiculous demand, you will be be reported and blocked straight away, I’ve taken passengers on ridiculous journeys my self in the U.K., and made a big loss on my way back, it’s what it is. We can’t win all the time, at the back of my mind l always have it that there is always tomorrow.’ and by the way l rent the car l use cos l only work in London for 2months every 3months. The drivers request is ridiculous, despicable and his dispire is absolutely silly. Someone asked this question and you didn't respond. Is it okay if a driver decides to drop a rider on third mainland bridge at midnight because he doesn't feel like going on with the journey? Since you find it okay for a rider to abandon a trip he booked knowing how his area is and left the driver to suffer a massive loss. Some riders know there would be serious traffic and they will book a ride with the intention of cutting the cost of picking a bike from where they are. |

Eizenburg: From the zigzag pattern, it’s clear he used an app that takes over the GPS. Booked the trip for a friend, if I were the rider, I’ll just pay him the estimate and be on my way. It may not be intentional, sometimes phone GPS can act up on its own, especially all these 2 SIM chinko phones. Just wanna let you know so you won't write a career-ending report about the driver |

InfinityEstates: Sometimes ehn, some riders are just out to frustrate someone. So this morning, after spending like 1hour plus without request, I decided to go back home. On my way home, a request came in.
PU was in an estate on the other side of the road but I had to make a U-turn about 800m ahead, and there was heavy traffic. I called rider and she described where she was. I told her where I was and that there was traffic and it would take about 10mins to get to her. The other side of the road was free so I just had to make the U-turn.
After spending about 15mins in traffic and making the U-turn, I was about turning into the road leading to her estate when I heard a beep. "RIDER HAS CANCELLED THE ORDER!".
And she didn't even call to confirm where I was before she cancelled. I now had to make a turn into the traffic again.
Annoying people everywhere... You could have called back and negotiate offline, it works most of the time |
