Do they check car papers during re-inspection? Specifically roadworthiness
Yes, they check vehicle license, road worthiness, and driver's license. It's just as if you're just registering afresh

I will center at the bolded.

First, I will only buy a car for ehailing at this time if I'm to drive it myself

Secondly, I won't invest right now because I don't have the conscience or won't want to be tempted to be mean and to be wicked to ask for an unrealistic and outrageous fee at this time.

Lastly, if the car is over a year old off course I will accept my faith and make sure I get a steady delivery. The pandemic is nobody's fault so why make it look like its the drivers fault so he must rent at the same amount he's been rental anti pandemic bearing in mind this car has been rented at above 25k for the past 1year?

Its never gonna be like that for ever after all.
There's no "bolded"

THE CIRCLE OF POVERTY
THE GODFATHER

Interesting reading.:-
I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire is appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year. But I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.

My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't not be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer competency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.

We always complain of the economy and how they are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.

I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.

Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.

Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go
ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.

Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing
your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money
realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around.
Because they're eating your money.

Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.

Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the
total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.

Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.

You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.

And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.
Why did you put your name as if it's your story smiley
You're preaching morality so kindly put "COPIED"

And the bus uses 5 hours to get there. Do you add anything for the driver?

If no? Is it wickedness[/color]
Lol don't mind uncle gentle. What if that's all the rider has because most people use indriver to avoid getting fares above their budget. Where will he/she get extra to add.

Not true Bro, you didn't agree the price irrespective of how long the trip will take .
They work with current road conditions when calculating fares, so if you take the trip and it took much longer than expected to complete it the rider is suppose to be considerate otherwise he or she is just being wicked.
Simple, if he had begged the driver and truly don't have anything to add it's understandable but insisting on what was initially agreed means the rider is simply being insensitive and that's wickedness.
I ask again assuming it took you the whole day to complete the trip nkor? Probably because the road were totally blocked, so the rider will say because it's indriver he will still pay what was agreed initially?
Haba
If it takes less than expected time to complete the trip, probably you found a short cut that map doesn't recognize. Would you collect less than the agreed price? grin
It's what goes around bro, agreement is agreement. We win some we lose some

Do not use this car for uber in Lagos, I repeat, do not attempt to use this car for uber in Lagos for UberBolts fares of N400. Not even for part time. Is just not worth.

If my brother was stubborn to change it for 06, I will just simply park it for private use and keep posting my brother.

After 3 months, this car will not look like this again, and your brother will still blame you.

Or sell it, buy an 06 cool and get some change.
Yes there are N400 trips, but there are also N4000 trips. Don't let us make it sound like its only short trips he will be getting for the whole of his uber career lol.
And why won't the car be like this after 3 months, you need to see the one I've been using for exactly 2 years then. It's not everybody that is a rough rider na.
People advising him not to use it, if he returns it hoping to get another one and the story changes to the one that touches from there, what would you have him do then?
Prosperofficial use your corolla with care and you shall prosper. People are using Camry 2011 and they're doing just fine

grin grin baba na 4.4 I dey before. I had to discount a riders fare to get 4.5

Because I do few trips, anytime I carry some devilish riders they can easily affect my rating and I was on it for over 1 month.

Somehow I think bolt gives me special preference.

All the times riders tried playing a smart one on me, bolt have always refunded me without any issue. Although you'll wait about 2 weeks.

I think the issue is drivers don't make the case well with bolt.

You're more likely to be arrested not wearing mask while in your car all alone than walking past a police man without mask. Their targets for masks have always been car drivers/owners.

The horrible stories I have been reading while on incognito mode has been making me laugh so hard.

Many of you are still yet to understand why Lagos state is the only state in the world their welcoming sign board is; "THIS IS LAGOS." Other states I visited are usually "Welcome to Accra, Welcome to Doha, Welcome to Legon, Welcome to Abuja, Welcome To Addis Ababa, Welcome to Onitsha, Welcome To Asaba". But only Lagos is the state I have seen "This is Lagos".

From the moment I stepped foot into Lagos the first time 20 years ago, I have always understood that sign as; "This is Lagos. Shine your eyes"

Aside driving people from point A to B, how do you guys manage to develop an inter-personal relationship with total strangers suddenly?

Only on this thread have I read stories of drivers following riders home to sleep in their houses due to offline contracts. For how much kwanu?

I also saw one that said that the rider was "so good" that he had to tell her not to pay? All the way from Command Ipaja to Sangatedo?" undecided undecided undecided Can you imagine? grin grin grin All these Lekki girls with juju buried deep in their epidermis... I hail una jazz man cheesy cheesy cheesy

The Twitter guy scam is similar to what nearly played out on our own luxurydriver here. He met one who might have promised him mansions in the sky grin grin grin. But it ended in premium tears.

It was on same Twitter that I read where one driver narrated how he was so hungry on a particular day that his rider took him home and offered him Okro Soup and Semovita. Can you imagine? Una get mind for this world oo. This one will just be licking away his destiny without knowing.

Scroll up a little and see one already telling humongous stories of how his current client "is shedding tears of joy" after listening to old blues. Oga DJ jimmy jatt abi neptune, I hail oo. Just as I suggested to them on the radio when the issue was raised about the closure I'm very much happy about this.

Same system employed in the dopemu flyover

What this means is that from about 12mid night to 12noon the open lane would be a one way towards thr island from the mainland.

From 12noon to 11:55pm midnight would be another one way from the island to the mainland.

So you have no business plying the 3md bridge coming n going against these time from the island and vis ver sar at these hours.
They're supposed to leave an interval of at least 15 minutes between the change of traffic flow. Some cars will climb the bridge at 11.54 and won't even get to the middle of the bridge by 11.55 when the other end will be open for cars going the other way to climb. They want cars to start having head-on collisions abi

Yes all three cars were used for uber .. Most were over 140k miles ... The correct use of engine oil will prolong the life span of your engine, but am also aware that cars with high miles can also short oil .. I rather do my part by using the correct oil/fluid and let nature takes its course . So in all my three cars if I didn't follow owners manual on maintenance etc .. I will now than have two issues instead of one.. I think 1 is better than 2..

A good mechanic will take is time to open the engine..
Thank you

If engine is burning oil like that, better to check pc valves and engine oil seal .. I experince similar issues like that, I was told to use heavy grade oil .. I said no , and took the car to another mechanic.. Engine cover was open ,and we found out the oil seal was worn out .. The seal was replaced and problem solved.....

So please car owners out there. Before anyone tells to start using thicker oil coz of oil burn make sure u check the basic things pc valves and ask a mechanic to open the engine cover to check for any worn out seal ... Ayodele Bishop did the job for me .. The first was a civic 03 than a Camry 07 and than elantra 08.. Also use good oil preferable USA brands.. Most cars in Nigeria now are USA imports ,it only makes sense to use USA brand oil for the car.. The oil are specifically formulated for such
First thing first, welcome back to the thread.
So as per the oil burning issue, did any of the 3 cars have mileage up to 160k at the time of repair? Mine was in that region so I felt that was the reason and opening of engine dey fear me make dem no go turn engine to zombie for me

You didn't talk aboutbthe fastest finger features with indriver. To me that's the major setback with them.

How will a particular request come into 4 different drivers at the same time and tje person that picks first have it. How would you then offer your own price when the other driver doesnt even care but accept the rider's price.

So I shouldn't take my eyes off my phone because I need to get a trip? Rubish!!
No it's not who picks first that gets the trip, it's who the rider selects. Every driver that accepts will pop up on rider's app and rider will select his/her choice based on price, ETA, rating and sometimes your profile pic. A horror looking driver will hardly get picked lol
