brainhgeek: Thanks. I am healed already. I have not forgotten but I have forgiven those who molested me. They surely have their families now. Calling them out will mean I am equally breeding new sets of monsters whose psychological and emotional responses to the aftermath of my calling out my molesters can result to a new version of societal worries, their kids. I've found peace in moving on. I am however resolved to being a father and a dad to my kids. I am never going to be absent from their lives till they are responsible for it.
One of these days, I will share my story, not to call out anyone but to change the molestation narrative and inspire parents. Thanks again Great to hear that. Best wishes |

victorian: I was almost raped three times!
On different occasions by different men.
And trust me I didn't seat still while they tried.
First rape attempt I was 6years old, I screamed , jumped down and ran off
Second rape attempt I was 26years old right in my office, I struggled furiously , bite his palm, and screamed. My security guard downstairs ran up, knocked and rushed in.
Third attempt rape : I was 30 years old at my home, I pretended I want him too when I realised he was very strong with his fist. I calmed down, smiled and told him lemme go pull off and wear something sexy Na. I even kissed him for him to believe, he released his grip, as I stood up, I pushed him so hard and ran out of my apartment with great speed! Then shouted from outside, leave my apartment now!
Those three incidents I never got once kept in touch with anyone of them and I warned the last two never in their life should they contact me again orelse I will get them arrested. And they didn't. They kept off!
That's attempted rape! I hate them with every cell in my body!
So dear I know what it means and how it feels when one is about to be raped, it's very ugly experience. How much more been raped.
Yes I remember the last one, thieves came to my ex house , stole stuffs and about to rape. Thank God it was only two who came into the building. The one who wanted to rape he held a gun, while the second one held a short cutlass facing my ex. As he came close tome, I grabbed his hand with gun with my two hands, we were struggling, there and then I was determined to die! Than to be raped. He was shocked. We were struggling with the gun. He then punched my eyes, I saw stars but I didn't let go. My ex saw me struggling WIth the rapist, he stood up and fought the second guy. The rapist was boxing my face I still held on to the gun. Until he screamed to the third thief outside, that one came in threw another short cutlass to him and he cut off my fingers holding the gun, I screamed I let go of the gun. They all ran way, with my cut fingers oozing out blood, then I passed out ,saw myself been rushed to the theater for immediate surgery.
That night was bloody!
So my sister I have been to hell and back!
No be today.
I can take a pic of my fingers for u to see how it looked now. It's not straight but at least I have fingers.
I will rather die, and fight to death! Than to be raped! Sorry about your traumatic experiences. You are indeed a super woman. I want you to treat others victims with empathy too. People are created and wired differently. Don't judge the world through your own lenses alone. There is something called the fight and flight response in every human. In the face of immense fear the fight-freeze-flight response kicks in for everyone. When fear strikes some people will instinctively fight, some will flee and some will freeze - go numb, become paralysed to move, speak or act. You belong to the fight response category. It even shows in how you engage people in this NL. Some rape victims never fight their predators or even raise their voice. They belong to the freeze response category. They are too afraid or shocked to act or move or run. It's not their fault, it's in their wiring. Empathize with them. Don't lose your humanity. |

brainhgeek: What am I deducing? Hmm. Well, I will deviate a little from the trend the story is following and carve out my view on child molestation in general. Well, many people look at child molesters and almost immediately attack the male gender. So far so good, I have seen that all over social media with regards to Mrs. Dakolo and the pastor's caee. The truth however is that there are as many female child molesters as males. The only thing is that the nature of the male child will make many of them enjoy the experience and will rather wear it as a badge and not talk about it. The molested male child has no one to speak up for him. He grows with the uncontrollable appetite and if not rescued, grows into a molester. Alas! the tragedy of the molested male child is multiplied; he was molested as a child, he has no one to defend his plight, he grows into a molester or sex addict which he regrets (openly or secretly) after each episode, he is cursed, criminalised and condemned for going through his pains. I am not defending molestations, I am only saying we stop criminalising genders, offices, posts, titles and whatever. No gender is holier. Molestation is an evil that goes and comes around all sexes. Yes, molesters should be taken off the society but first, their history should be revisited and then, they should go into a rehab for as long as it would take. We all are involved in this. Parents most importantly. We shouldn't be expending much resources trying to fix broken men when we actually can build strong children. I wouldn't name or call out my molesters. Who knows if or when they were molested and by who (men or women). Karma can never stop Karma. It is only a cycle through which vengeance is recycled. I won't call out anyone. I chose to fight the cause by leading a campaign against unlawful criminalising of genders. A call for equal protection of the male child. Background check and total rehabilitation of molesters for as long as it will last. Whatever the law finds to best suitable, they should do.justice to the trending story. I am just bitter about the unsung and unrecognized possibilities of the boy child molestation by females too. Pardon my bias please Nice one! You can also get yourself healed of that trauma instead of burying it. |

GutsOverFear: So it's OK for Busola to cry out as a rape victim of what happened 15 years ago..
But it's not OK for this guy to do the same.. Hypocritical double standard people we have in Nigeria..
FYI what the pastor did with her wasn't rape. It might not have been a consensual sex in the encounter but the subsequent ones were consensual..
She enjoyed it that's why she didn't cry out then..
Would she cry out now if the person that raped her was a nobody?
modified for all of you quoting and insulting me, it shall be well with you and Busola if non of you have had a non consensual sex before.. Or are y'all trying to say all the times you have had sex the lady was totally up for it.. Your idiocy is shocking. 1. A man of God has hypnotic-like powers over his members. Someone, you believe is anointed from heaven and can call fire from heaven to consume you can control you if he chooses to use that power for personal gain or evil. A dreaded ex hitman, ex cultist can have such absolute power and control over someone. Note that the accused in this case has both kinds of powers as her pastor and a dreaded ex hit man of a cult. In both cases, there is a power differential or power imbalance. The person with the greater power can take advantage of, abuse or rape his/her victim without much fuss. 2. Someone that triggers excessive fear or reverence can rape their victim many times, on different days. Fear is hypnotic and illogical. Fear can have the same effect as hypnosis or a spell. 3. In the face of immense fear the fight-freeze-flight response kicks in for everyone. Some people will instinctively fight, some will flee and some will freeze -go numb, become paralysed to move, speak or act. Some rape victims never fight their predators or even raise their voice. Why did she go back to his church few days later on a Sunday to. Worship and still help his wife carry her baby?
Don't take sides blindly
Any woman who was truly raped, will have nothing again to do with the rapist. Even though he's a pastor and she hold him in high esteem. At that moment she has been penetrated. All the respect is gone! She meant to hate and make him pay!
Not keep going to where he is and he keeps taking advantage of her
Look lemme. Tell u when I was 6 years old. Or thereabout an uncle tried raping me in My parents house, when he noticed I was calm as he was fingering I ran away and screamed! Even though he threatened me.. I was like my mum must know!
I ran out of the house and hid somewhere till my mum came back and I told her everything.

Abeg! You are very naive! She was still very young. She was too afraid to tell her parents or siblings about it. It was their family church, what excuse will she give for not going to church? Finally, the powers pastors have over members is hypnotic in quality if the pastor wants to use it for evil or to take advantage of a member. It wasn't rape! She idolized him and he took advantage simple! You are just revealing your idiocy, woman! Your pastor as the oracle of God and a representative of God to you holds incredible powers over you. He, a former cultist, surprised her by bumping into his house early in the morning, pushes her to a chair, covers her mouth and threatens her to keep quiet for her own good and rapes her and you are saying what exactly? She, a young girl that was manipulated into trusting and accepting him as her spiritual father, is paralyzed by her spiritual father's action and threat and is defenceless against the beast and too frozen by fear to fight. The power differential between a pastor and a member is so huge that many ladies will be paralyzed if their pastor makes a move on them. I just tire. Like you said, when someone watches the Iggy interview with an idea in mind you will read your own idea into whatever he was saying. They will soon say Iggy wanted to leave the club which is why he said what he said. Even when in that same interview he talked about coming back. One thing our bros is also ignoring is that Iggy said KDs injury was either an act of God or a higher power. That very injury could have happened even without a calf strain. You said so when you gave the getting off a bus example. Bros was even saying that KD injury came from jumping. Na dude. He crossed over..and that movement could have caused an achilles for even Steph. It was a freaky injury. Nobody will risk KD back with the hint of an Achilles tendon injury. Nobody. There is no winning this argument no matter the amount of evidence or points presented here. I know. Passion has mythical powers. It's like trying to argue about religion or denominations. So why are you and the media analyst still blaming the Warriors?
Eruditor, A40, Roland17, Birdman, Sircumalot, Skywalker5 Steady296 can get in here and read this. "Physicians said Durant probably was susceptible to another injury because the leg tends to overload other muscles when recovering from a calf-related issue. Dr. Nirav Pandya, an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at UC San Francisco, said when there is a weakness in a calf muscle, patients often add pressure to the Achilles tendon to generate force. “It is not surprising there is going to be an injury on that side,” he added." This is all I have been saying. Why are they acting like it's surprising KD injured his achilles then? So they knew the risk? There were two medical opinions on that link. One supports my view, the other didn't. So? And mind you the Dr against my point is even the Jazz's team doctor, Dr Maak, so he should be defending his ilk, right? It's a principle of natural justice that you can't be a judge in your own case. Innit? |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by DeeMain(m): 1:00pm On Jun 27, 2019 |
SmooshCHN: Prove this uncle without using possibilities or probably. You could be good to go 2 weeks after a calf strain. You can never be good to go in 3 months if you fully rupture your achilles. Don't be too confident about things you don't know.
He was not misdiagnosed and would have been good to go if it was a grade 1 or grade 11 calf strain.
His doctors will not clear him and if KD wanted to still play, they'll let him know of the consequences if he was to return too soon. KD will not play if a career ending injury could arise from not healing properly from his calf strain going into free agency.
Jump off the fence and just think brother. See you shouting he was not misdiagnosed like you or they are omniscient. The best a doctor can say is they did the best they could based on the knowledge available to them and the equipment they had. Anything else is to play God. Doctors can misdiagnose my friend. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by DeeMain(m): 12:43pm On Jun 27, 2019 |
SmooshCHN: Spot on about Iggy's case. Every team does that. On KD, I'd only agree to say they rushed him because they know, especially KD's team and the Warriors team that they were taking a risk with letting KD play. The circumstances at that time wasn't helping matters. Everybody was injured. On a normal day, they wouldn't have cleared him to play but it's the finals and they cleared him after saying he has to be 100% first. Everyone here takes the blame IMO including Bob Myers as well as the media who were saying KD has to play. Would they do this again? No!! But every player would pull the Kawhi move which is good for the players. Trust has to go both ways and KD wanted to play through the injury as he said on his IG. Bad look on the medical staff if they assured everyone that there wouldn't have been any complications but I'm 100% they did inform everyone on the team of the complications. It's the most basic thing athletic trainers and medical staffs know. They calf strain takes 3-6weeks. KD took 32 days off which has been enough for many NBA players. In his case, it wasn't. Would they have known he would rupture his achilles? No!! No objective scan would tell them and they're not God. They took a risk and they paid dearly for it. If the Warriors are now suddenly classless, that's the media's problem since they want to choose when to call say KD must and must not play. Didn't Curry play through one injury in 2016 after the knee sprain vs Houston? Want he the hero after returning in the Portland game? The media cannot come and play two face here. If he sprained his ankle that game, they'll say it was connected to his knee. He was later scheduled to have surgery after that finals but it didn't matter to the media because he played well in the Portland series. Iggy was ruled out with his back issue, Bogut was out too and those guys weren't forced to play. It's a big issue because it happened to KD in the finals which Warriors ended up losing. Isaiah Thomas case with the Celtics is where the media can pull this two face.
Klay's situation was no one's fault. Almighty LeBron would go down injured if he landed with toes pointed out and knees in like Klay did. Danny Green made sure he gave him no chance to score. Same thing I said. Same thing Iggy said. And yes, it's not limited to the Warriors. There is pressure on players to tough it out and play no matter what. The flip side of such pressures and risks is what happend to KD. When you go the Kawhi route and damn that expectation and pressure to protect yourself as a player, you risk everything. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by DeeMain(m): 12:18pm On Jun 27, 2019 |
SIRcumalot: What sort of pressure would make KD's own personal doctor act against his employer own interest ? Durant own doctor cleared him to play that pretty much mean he was good to go. If KD is determined to play(again because of the pressures he feels) then that is a possibility. But we know now he wasn't good to go. |

Eruditor: Sadly, you are still looking for different ways to make the same wrong statement.
Nobody management or medical team put any pressure on Iggy and by extension KD. So your metaphor can safely be thrown out. As far as similarities go, the medical team did not misinform or misdiagnose anybody to deliver any deliverables. The only thing Iggy said was, they lied to the media which in turn generated pressures that neither the Warriors or the medical team cowered to in Iggy's case so how you made that leap to extrapolate it into KDs is voodoo.
There was no pressure to deliver KD. If the player himself and warriors felt any pressure, what pressure will his own doctors feel to risk their client who could potentially lose his career and have no money to keep them on his payroll?
Like I said, the hoopla was simply because people wanted to claim Iggy was exposing the Warriors but that has been thrown out by the player himself. You are now trying and failing to make Iggy say what he himself said he was not saying.
LOL If KD really wants to play and his personal doctor, whom he pays, knows he is not ready, that same doctor is under the same kind of subtle pressure and can cave in to that pressure. Wise men have said for years that he who pays the piper dictates the tunes. Like I said, the same kind of pressures and expectations are not limited to the Warriors. It's a NBA-wide problem and the stars are at the receiving end. Stop personalizing it. There was pressure, perhaps not direct, to put KD into play too early and it backfired. Also note: 1. Doctors can be professionally wrong. It is why patients are advised to go for 2nd and 3rd opinions. At the very least, we now know that the Warrior's doctors and KD's doctors were wrong in their diagnosis. 2. Doctors are humans and have emotions and can be influenced by emotions and pressures. If Iggy says there is pressure to deliver a certain expectation, it means that team doctors might be affected by such pressures too, not just players. The Warrior's doctors could have caved in to such subtle pressures and rushed him out too early. It's a possibility. |

Eruditor: Your opinion is wonderfully wrong. No debate.
He said " it was put OUT THERE" as a bone bruise. Put out there to who? That is your answer. Iggy himself praised the team because not only did they not mislead him. They still treated him the way a fracture should be treated without ever asking him to play. The only thing they did was misinform journalists to keep the opposition guessing. It is not rocket science.
Of course, when the media keep carrying a news repeatedly that a player has a bone bruise, people here and there will ask questions. How is the leg? Can you play? Is the pain still there? I mean, Steph was being asked these questions when he hurt his fingers. At no point did he say the Medical team misled HIM which is the lame argument you are trying to defend.
Same goes for KD who (by the way got cleared by his own doctors) and then INSISTED on playing. Whatever pressures he felt is not in anyway related to the hot takes or about NBA teams misinforming the media. The warriors for e.g if KDs initial injury was an Achilles could have still lied it was a calf strain but they would have never played him (as he would not have been able to even play..LOL).
And no amount of pressure can make a player who is unable to play, play. The pressure came from the media who kept claiming the player was out of GSW so to prove to them he was not out, he played. Dude, I didn't say the Management lied or the doctors didn't give him a go-ahead. I've never made those claims. What I said is up there. Don't put words into my mouth. Listen to Iggy again and read my post in between the lines. Indirect, subtle pressures and expectations from management mean that the players, team doctors and even the players personal doctors are under some kind of pressure to deliver a certain deliverable or result or expectation no matter what. So, do not be fooled into believing that every diagnosis or statement a doctor puts out there is fact. Other considerations other than being professional might be goading him. Only very brave and self-contained players and some brave doctors can consistently be immune to and resist such indirect pressures and expectations. Sadly, it seems KD, and regrettably his doctors, fell to such subtle pressures and rushed back too early. |

Eruditor: Ok no vex.
You don't need to be the only one to still be unashamedly wrong by the way.
He said when he fractured his leg last time against Rockets, the medical team of the warriors told THE NBA that it was a bone bruise even though they knew it was a fracture. Every team does that BTW. You want to unsettle the opposition and make them overcalculate their tactics. If Iggy was ruled out completely the Rockets would have been emboldened. Rockets did same about CP3 and kept lying that he could play game 6 or 7 even when they knew he was out. That was the summary of what he said.
Warriors did not play him, did they? The medical staff did not misdiagnose him (in fact he praised them). They only misled the NBA, journalists and the rockets (or at least they tried to).
I am not even saying anything new. If you do some digging, you will see that at the time last playoffs, I said categorically that Iggy's bone bruise injury claim was BS. Teams do that.
I would have gone to say exactly what he said about KDs injury but I am sure that is not what people care about. The hottake nonsense was to act like Warriors had misled Iggy about his injury but that is not what he was saying. Thing is, when you have made up your mind to hang your dog, any thread will be good enough. Which explains why people deliberately misunderstood the player. My take. He mentioned the indirect and subtle pressure on him(Iggy) to play from family, management, team mates, fans, when he was injured( a fracture) the season before as a metaphor for what happened to KD. He said the same kinds of indirect and subtle pressures was on KD. The expectation that players are supposed to play through injury no matter what and that if KD is not playing, that's money down the drain and title slipping away and the big dreaded label, "he's not tough". Guy, my inference is valid considering the whole context of KD's injury and what Iggy, his team mate, said here. It's a league wide problem though, not just the Warriors - this pressure on star players. So yes, it's an indictment, in my opinion. |

Eruditor: LOL.

Kneel where you are and ask God for the spirit of understanding. Make your argument without sounding disrespectful, dude. That's what I deduced from what he said. Glad I'm not the only one. |

Eruditor: This one too will say he has a brain. LOL. Opting out of what?
I am waiting for the usually reasonable birdman to respond. I have already accepted that a lot of people on here are not as intelligent as they think they are. The firsttake mugus no different. You are on your own pedestal when it comes to mumulity sha. Carry go. Watched it and I believe it's an indictment of the Warriors' hierarchy and also the NBA. |
