Even after calumnizing the legal immigrants of Springfield as eating dogs and cats, he tripled down on it by saying that they need to be "Sent away." He was talking about legal immigrants.

They’re a deeply brainwashed cult. One moment they love him because he speaks his mind. He doesn’t hide his true thoughts. The next moment they’re trying to explain to us what he actually meant. “He didn’t mean it like that” when you read his words verbatim back to them.

I’ll never again in my life question how Germans could fold their arms and watch Hitler murder millions of their neighbors who didn’t belong. I used to think it was such an absurd impossible thing to wrap one’s mind around. But my fellow country people have shown me it’s a very easy thing to achieve. Give them someone to hate and they’ll follow you onto train tracks chanting your praises as they are being actively harmed too.

Psychologists will be studying the Trump phenomenon in decades to come. It beats credulity.

I’m actually shook.
Honestly. Especially the bold.
It takes away one's faith in humanity.

It helps one see just how shallow people can be.
But worst of all, it shows you that people can actually convince themselves that black is white and vice versa. A man can say point blank: Mr. X is a monkey. And his supporters will vigorously argue that he didnt say so. Worst of all, he will repeat the statement over and over and over again. and they will argue he is not saying so.

You are right, its actually spooky. More so when you find otherwise very cerebral, sophisticated and enlightened people doing this.
Very very spooky.

You can attach factual evidence from court cases, third party sources, eye witnesses and his supporters will tell you they still can’t see it.
Absolutely. I am so so used to it. Its one of the wonders of the world.

In an epic instance, a Youtuber, Luke Beasly interviewed Laura Loomer, and pointed out to her that Trump called for the termination of the constitution. She denied it. So he read out Trump's exact post on Truth Social saying so. Of course she replied that he actually meant that the people's constititional rights are not being upheld.

Amazing stuff. You can see the video below, just watch from 3:00 - 5:00.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdPqit6ucNY

In this same way I have heard astonishing reinterpretations of "they are poisoning our blood." Someone who I actually like very much on this board, but who is sadly a Trumpist, drew a surprising analogy equating it with Jehovah's Witnesses abhorrence of blood transfusion and concluded that it signalled nothing racist.

So there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that you can point a Trumpist to - not even hard evidence as concluded by courts of law as you said. It has been found, for instance, in a court, that he pushed his fingers into a woman's vagina without her consent, and that this meets the definition of rape. But Trumpists will simply tell you its all a conspiracy and every single Judge in the world (including Republican Judges) is in on it.

It's honestly a waste of energy arguing with Trumpists. They are held fast, blind, and worship in a cult.

Kukutente23:
Same with Nigeria's rule of 25% in 24 states

It's to ensure spread
It is not the same Kukutente. Nigeria's rule holds no possibility of having the candidate with less votes declared the winner. Neither does Nigeria's rule disenfranchise voters by giving all "electoral" votes in a state to the winner and allotting zero to the runner up.

I understand that in the matter of your Republican support you cannot be swayed by reason. But there must be a limit.

Just yesterday I made the case as follows:

------

I understand all the arguments made in favor of a "spread" but there is more than one way to skin a cat. There are several ways in which a spread can be ensured, without resorting to a system in which a person with less votes can be declared winner. That is an absurdity that must be avoided at all costs in a democracy otherwise it simply is not a democracy. For crying out loud, right here in Nigeria we dealt with the problem of ensuring a spread by saying that the winner must have a minimum of 25% in two-thirds of the states.

However you do it, you must not, and I repeat, must not, declare a person with less votes the winner of an election.

That turns the universe upside down.

A thing that is intrinsically wrong is the very principle of awarding all the electoral college votes in a state to the winner in the state (which is what happens in most states - save Maine & Nebraska). That is a horribly perverse principle which disenfranchises people. Just imagine, if you win a state by so much as one vote, you take all the electoral college votes for that state and the opponent gets zero.

That is worse than black magic, it is sheer voodoo and the most reprehensible form of juju.

The effects of Tinubulation
Atiku was right. One would expect Tinubu to be pro-private sector in his policies but it seems the private sector are the worst hit especially manufacturing. The manufacturing sector contracts for two consecutive quarters this year which means the sector is in recession. This is as zombies tell us that Tinubu wants to kill imports and improve on exports. What this implies is more job losses and rise in supply issues which further pushes prices upwards.
It is obvious the govt is driving the economy in the wrong direction
Yet we have a friend here who believes these policies will lead to industralization.

Christianity Etc › Ex Muslim Woman Describes Islam's Attitude To Women by DeepSight(op): 8:50am On Nov 05, 2024
"I was born and raised Muslim. As women, we’re considered half of men. Under Islamic law, we have to obey men if we don’t want to be lashed, beaten, or oppressed. Our fathers hold authority over our lives and, under Sharia, can end our lives if they see us as a threat to Islam or their dignity.

We have no autonomy over our bodies; according to Sharia, our husbands can force themselves on us because that’s considered a wifely duty. We can’t even make basic decisions like choosing what to wear or traveling without permission from a male authority, be it a husband, father, or government enforcing Sharia.

We can be forced into marriage as children under 18 (9-13 yo in Iran). In some Muslim countries, like Iran, we can be forced to marry our rap*ist and are required to carry a pregnancy from ra*pe to term. And, as a former Muslim, I am sentenced to death for leaving Islam."

I know she’s usually open to dialogue but I don’t think it will happen though. Red states say their little towns and country sides will be left unrepresented if we use popular vote for everything. Because the major population of most states lies in their cities. The people in the cities will get to be the ones deciding who’s president year after year.

So they have to be represented somehow by giving more value to their votes than the votes of city dwellers.

The OG affirmative action but we can’t say that. We only talk bad about affirmative action if it seems brown people might benefit from it.

If they did that, republicans will never win another presidential election in the next 100 years unless they hollow out their rotten core and rebuild. They’ve let Trump ruin what was left of their party.

Now they are just hateful, racist and regressive. Their core supporters are uneducated so they are easy to sell stupid ideas to. Like abortion after birth. Or that schools are performing gender reassignment surgery on kids in between classes. Some schools don’t even free lunches but we’re to believe they can appropriately staff and run an operating room.

The educated ones among them put religious sentiments ahead of the wellbeing of the country and their neighbors. And then there’s the delusional future billionaire class among them who think taxing the rich more will affect them sometime in the future.

There’s no way they are the majority. They know it and that’s why they hang onto the electoral college for dear life. Without it, they’re obsolete.

But how do we get there?
Republicans know it's the only way they can win a Presidency given how the party is currently constructed.
Dems need to make it a front burner issue and scream their lungs off over it for years consistently to the point that no one will be able to defend it. Declaring a person with less votes the winner of any election is patently absurd and a mockery of Democracy, which in itself should be driven towards the will of the majority.

I am not insulting you too, I am just calling you for who you really are.... dumb.

Jesus Christ described Himself as a servant, when He said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” (Mark 10:45).

According to your scripture Jesus called himself the Servant of God. He did not come to be worshipped but rather to worship the one true God.

Luke 22:41-42, He [Jesus] knelt down and began to pray saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

We are all servants of God, and it's not too late for you to embrace the truth.

Peace ✌️
How did you come to the conclusion that I am a Christian?

Can you see yourself?
I am not religious.

Christianity puts forth some of the most inane propositions: such as the proposition that Jesus is God or the proposition that his death provides anyone with salvation.

PS: I am sure you know there is a difference between a servant and a slave. Service is different from bondage.

They want to be able to to claim the correctness of their polls no matter who wins.
