Kukutente23: I like how you put it that it's your perfect religion. It's your opinion. It's subjective and not based on any indisputable fact.
You're quoting quran as evidence that Muhammad is the last prophet when same Muhammad was the one who gave you the Qur'an. Does a man ever testify against himself? Muhammad listed over 20 prophets in his Qur'an. None of them ever prophesied about him nor claim he will come as the last prophet but he self-declares as the last prophet in his self-made book and you expect that to be taken as evidence. How does that make sense? How do you even know the phrase "seal of prophets" mean he's the last prophet? That's your subjective interpretation. Muhammad was tested so many times by Jews when he wanted them to accept him as prophet and he failed the tests. So his he even a prophet in the first place? His chronology of prophets in his quran is 90% from Jewish line and history. So how does he an Arab become last prophet out of a long line of Jewish prophets? He even mixed a lot of things up such as mistaking Mary mother of Jesus with Miriam sister of moses and Aaron. That's why you people call the mother of Jesus Maryam till this day when her name is Mary?
What I'm showing you from quran is a conflict. If Muhammad says he's the last prophet then still says Jesus who is accepted as a prophet is still coming back to carry out God's work, how is Muhammad the last prophet then? The logic is flawed. You can't answer till now if Jesus is coming back as a prophet or something else because even you are confused as to that situation.
There's nothing like last prophet. Prophet simply means messenger. To say there's a last prophet implies that God will stop speaking to people after the last one and just leave people to their devices. Why will God suddenly grow tired of speaking to people? So there are prophets till this day. The office of prophethood as far as Christianity is concerned will not and can never cease. God will continue to speak to people affirming his messages and will for mankind.
K.O.
One wonders why the words of an illiterate medieval plagiarist, paedophile, rapist, mass murderer and caravan robber should be evidence of the truth of anything.
You stampede the country into starvation policies. You insist that the starvation policies must continue for the next fifteen years, You then start crying that children are starving. You will all surely perish before we do. God protects the downtrodden.
Kukutente23: What if Satan is the one disguising as Allah and you are just seeking refuge from Shyatan with Shaytan thinking you are seeing refuge with Allah? Allah has existed in Arab worship for thousands of years before Muhammad came. If we agree that idolatry is sin, and the Arabs were idolators before Muhammad came, it means the Allah they were worshipping was an idol. If Allah allowed an idol to replace him for thousand of years and did not say anything to the Arabs untill Muhammad, what is to say it is not Shaytan that is now posing as Allah since he has seen that Allah is placed as the supreme god by the Arabs. Satan will want only himself to be worshipped too don't you think?
Kukutente23: They hypocritical Islamist did not consider that it is also possible that Shaytan disguised as Jibreel to give "revelations" to his prophet Muhammad. How will he convince anyone that is not the case? How does Jibreel look like? Does he have horns or tails or wings of feathers? Does he limp or walk, fly or crawl? You see how stupid hypocritical Islamists are?
There is no doubt that Jibreel (AKA Shaitan) limps and hobbles. While all the time swishing his forked tail this way and that to chase away the flies which afflict him on account of his pungent odour.
No one ever said don’t remove subsidy. Remove it but what exactly was the plan B when it was removed, how many barrels of oil did the modular refineries producing , what about the other major refineries
Funny enough even if tinubu had waited till dangote refinery had come on board and then removed subsidy. Nigerians would have escaped the hardship
Also it was important to remove subsidy first then continue to defend the naira and then float the naira in a couple of years time when people have recovered from the new price of petrol
Like for real which commodity in the world can increase by almost 430 percent in one year
And we talking a commodity like petrol that is incidental to the whole economy
Even common sense should even tell tinubu to first even double power generation first before removing fuel subsidy so that perhaps manufacturers can perhaps run thier machines on steady light
No common sense whatsoever and look at the mess
Look at the naira
Look at the price of almost everything
See extreme poverty
Well said. But acoording to some lunatics here, we simply like cheap things.
You know, if these loonies even moderated their slavish and thoughtless views by ever sparing time to also speak to the problem of corruption, one could even think of listening to them.
They are old enough, and yet do not know that any so called gain from the removal of subsidies will still be wacked by corrupt politicians.
If they dont know that, they are a waste of time and space.
Most comically, the man taking the "tough decisions" to remove subsidies, raise taxes, float the naira, etc - is one of the most corrupt human beings in history. Talk about the wolf in the chicken coop.
And yet they say, the wolf must sustain his reforms.
nairalanda1: And we.also.need to pay hefty taxes to fund the subsidy you want.
Did we pay hefty taxes for the $40 billion which has dissapeared into TAM of refineries that STILL do not work and NEVER will? ? ? ? ? I am tired of people like you who lack the capacity for thought.
The fact that the hike could happen immediatley after the EndBadGovernance Protest is what speaks the most. It tells you that the people mean nothing whatsoever in this country.
This is a fully colonized space.
What is required is a spartacus-like slave rebellion. Because we have indeed been enslaved.
BABANGBALI: These animals are just taking Nigerians for granted. They can't escape the revolution that is coming their ways
I no longer believe there will be a revolution in this country. If after the last protest the govt responded by increasing the prices of PMS further and nothing has happened, forget it bro. Something powerful has been used on the land and we have to accept that we are all now slaves.
lexy2014: If this governor says he can't provide modern drainage in Bayelsa and other critical infrastructure, nairalanda1 will say it's because people Bayelsa are not paying enough taxes
Thank you very much. He will say "unfortunatley things cost money."
Anyone who keeps saying Nigeria cannot afford subsidies which benefit the poor doesnt know anything. What is taken from the poor will only ever be reallocated to the pockets of the rich and corrupt. Anyone who imagines that such "savings" are going towards "infrastructure" and the like, is beyond naive.
gaby: We have a bigger stone to grind in our country, my people.
Unfortunately, there is absolute no hope in sight because as you all can now finally see, the country isn't ours and the people they foist on us as leaders are their puppets to do their biddings. If you won't do their bidding or at least provide them assurances that you'll do so, they'd make sure you fail by way of sabotage and instigation.
Our history is replete with the facts above, however, only a very few who are deep thinkers with foresight can recognize this and take action by accepting the reality that "Nigeria/Africa" is fuckedd with no hope in sight for as long as the Neocolonialists and Brettonwoods institutions still hold sway.
It takes a man/woman with a deep foresight, guts, and the humility to come to the realization and acceptance of reality to wake up, decide to sell off all he has and transplant himself from the hell that they have turned Nigeria into. Nobody, and I repeat, no body, is happy to move away from his/her home if all was truly well.
I'll continue to say it, if you have the means and value your sanity, make the move however legal you can for sanity sake first. Yes, life is a struggle the world over but chose your struggle very strategically. I'd rather struggle where the reward for my struggle trumps the one in Nigeria by at least 10x.
Shebi Tinubu has been humbled in his arrogance and hiding now while trying to reverse the calamitous policies he swallowed hook, line, and sinker to implement in their favor. They have warned him against any reversal and praising him for a job well done. He knows what to do in order to keep his job or a reelection and your guess is as good as mine.
I'm not in the mood for a typing but if anyone here feels like doing a deep thinking to figure out Nigeria in a bid to see the hopelessness on the horizon, go on a research from as early as the 1983 military regime of Buhari, the coup that upstate him, the policies implemented by the subsequent regime, the true reason Abacha was deleted, the introduction of OBJ, Yaradua, Gej, a "new" Buhari, and now, Jagaban. There is a very deep story behind the curtains...
Even the "new" Buhari was conservative in his reformation and acceptance to play ball just so he could rule again, but this oversabi calamity there today? He deformed and devalued the country and her currency by as much as 400% thereby positioning the country to be buy able by as little as a single wealthy citizen of the neocolonialist countries.
A word they say.....
It is a pity...
A breath of fresh air. Thank you. You've said it all.
naptu2: What has happened to deepsight, aka silasgreenback? It's been days since he mentioned my username. I thought that the plan was to mention it every day.
Who is the creepy stalker now? Get lost. You are a creep, a coward, a capital illiterate and worst of all a teenage girl.
richmond500: No, I was born in the 90s and I know the kind of cup we used, they are not nearly as fine as those ones in the pic. Also electric torch came to Nigeria early 2000s, we used one kind lantern with glass gloves, in the 90s before battery torches. electric torch was recent. Also 1930's pictures are not this sharp, the white colours of 1930 pics are tanned
90s kid you know nothing. You say electric torches came in the 2000s? Go and sit down. No wonder you talk crap about economics you know nothing of.
richmond500: So yesterday someone from worldbank talked about the reforms and most of us had to explain it the way we understood, but here is my take. What WB said was that, "what Nigeria is doing is what Norway did and today their GDP per Capita is above $100k, twice that of UK and bigger than that of USA, it's no different from it but for us to reap the fruit of this, we need to stay on this course for another 10-15years to be able to get an economy that will match those of developed nation, but there will be pain from inflation, he also said we tried it in 2003-2007 but we didn't sustain it while Norway sustained their reforms, he also talked about how the Nigerian oil wealth used to benefit only the elites.
So we have another time again to choose between long term goals and short term goals. The long term goals has great benefit in the future but excessive suffering will come first while the short term goal will help us put food on our table today but Nigeria might collapse in the future."
The big question now is, can Nigerians endure the hardship?
The hard part is that we need these reforms, even if Tinubu fails, another govt will push it down our throats in the future, Nigeria cannot survive without it.
The comparison with Norway is deceptive. Where subsidies have been removed its been a VERY gradual process over a long term. It was never done draconically in a single day to a poor population. Same with currency devaluations - and the key point there is that an import dependent economy cannot afford to do that. A producing economy can. The comparison is not apples for apples. The challenge is to point to any developing economy where these suicidal policies have succeeded. There is none.
Also, Norway along with much of Europe, benefitted from the Marshall Plan injecting billions of dollars after the second world war. There have been scores of measures to boost and inject the economy, not deflate it. There has also been long standing welfare for the population which is among the best welfare systems in the world. Norway has at no time in the last century been a suffering 3rd world country full of poor people, at best we can point to the issues during the great depression and the 2nd world war - which were global. Its insanity to attempt to compare a poverty stricken country with a prosperous European one.
You CANNOT tax a poor population to death and render life unliveable for them and expect any kind opf growth. That never happens anywhere. To have growth, it is commonsensical that the population must have reasonable purchasing power. Because that is what will drive the growth of manufacturing. When you create so much inflation that people cannot purchase goods, manufacturing and trade will dwindle and the economy will gradually die. This is elementary. The manufacturing sector has shrank as a result of these idiotic policies and it will completely perish if we continue to listen to the World Bank.
To impose these measures on a poor and suffereing population is economic suicide - it always has been, and it will be again. People like you have no understanding of economics and you dont know the real motivation of these policies. They have Always been geared to exploit and diminish developing economies.
One of the things is that a lender can never be interested in the welfare of your children. It can only be interested in how much it can get from you in terms of interest. So if you have to starve your children inorder to pay it more, it will recommend just that. Understand that the interest of a lender can never be the same as the interest of the people. Never.
