INEC has no power to cancel elections in Nigeria. you people are saying this because you know how Amaechi used soldiers to cause havoc during the elections n you are sure that federal might will be used to pocket the tribunal, now I'm convinced wike won the elections n if he can proove with the rest declared at the polling units before they were hijacked at the collation centres by Amaechi military/thugs I don't see how any sane person would declare such results as you are agitating for, buhari is such a disgraceful hypocrite now he will be forming a fake saint n claims he was not aware if what Amaechi did with the military in River state but the whole world is watching as we all awaits INEC decision. |

TwoBottles: "Yan Chinrani" this term is generally used to refer to Fulani nomads who move from place to place in search of greener pasture for their cattle and other livestock.
It is also used to refer to all those who are living and doing business or working in the North who are not of nothern extraction.
From the above explanation, one can deduce that another terrorist group is on the rise in Northern Nigeria and their principal targets are non- indigenes whose only crime is residing in the North. Your knowledge of hausa is poor,'yan chirani" means "those that hassles during the dry season",it is generally used in taraba to refer to visiting labourers especially from the far north who troop to Taraba during the dry/harvest season for menial jobs,I know because I was in bantaje wukari for years, it's a pity he is a victim n I wish him well. The Muslims in Taraba have been trying desperately to take over the state for long now so I'm not surprised, places like I, bantaje, mutum biu, sabongida takai, gassol are common Muslims flash point areas in taraba that one need to avoid during tensed situations. |

graceyramah: I was lost at what to title this thread. Personally, I'm tired of relationships and all the lies and empty promises that comes with it. I've a guy I've been in an emotionally unavailable relationship with for years. It's been on and off since we don't owe each other anything. Recently, we got back together. He's everything I dislike in a guy...arrogant, talks before thinking, brags a lot, doesn't respect my decisions, but doesn't know I dislike him for these. He's handsome though with little cash, but who cares? He's full of shìt and I'm just stuck up with him. Guess it's because I'm not in any relationship.
Now here is the problem. He tells me of his escapades and his current relationship. This asshole and I had sex on Friday night and after the act, he started asking stupid questions like if he should be worried. I told him to have thought of that before diving in and he opened a drawer full of condoms. That he never goes in on a girl without protection, but didn't say why he did with me. Today makes it 4days since I had sex with him and I'm feeling pregnant. There's this discomfort I can't explain. My period started on Sunday, but the flow is abnormal.
Let me use this emoji to laugh away how I really feel right now 'cause I don't know what to do now. I can't even understand this idea of keeping opposite sex as ordinary friends considering the challenges n unpredictable nature of such friendship, personally I don't agree with it n can never do it. |

AutoReportNG: The acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammadu Adamu has prohibited, with immediate effect, the covering of Vehicle Number Plates by all unauthorized vehicle users across the country.
Police spokesman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Frank Mba, on Tuesday, said the IGP gave the order following intelligence report that the unwholesome practice may be deployed by some unscrupulous persons to aid the commission of electoral related offenses before, during and after the Saturday, 9th March, 2019 Gubernatorial/House of Assembly elections.
He said, apart from possible threats to the polls, the IGP also noted that the covering of Vehicle Number Plate amounts to a clear breach of the Road Traffic Act and other relevant laws of the land.
Mba further said the act could impact negatively on national security, safety and has the capacity to heighten criminal activities, engender an atmosphere of lawlessness, shield perpetrators of crime and place unnecessary pressure on security agencies in their routine crime prevention and monitoring tasks.
He said the IGP had directed all Assistant Inspector Generals of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in the Zonal and State Commands to strictly enforce the restriction order at their various Areas of Responsibilities (AOR).

Politics › Re: INEC Threatens To Cancel Election Results Without Card Readers by Deepthoughts: 5:55pm On Mar 05, 2019 |
chidima2019: Worried by the large-scale irregularities that characterised the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections in Niger State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state has warned that any community that refuses to allow the use of smart card readers during the next Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly polls would have the results of the affected area cancelled.
INEC said the non use of the smart card readers contravenes the Electoral Act, insisting that the smart card readers were integral part of the electoral process and therefore mandatory for it to be used during the election.
Resident Electoral Commissioner in Niger State, Professor Sam Egwu, gave the warning in Minna on Tuesday after inspecting materials for next Saturday’s elections.
The INEC warning is sequel to complaints by local government returning officers for the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state, that the presiding officers were forced to drop card readers machines for manual voting in no fewer than 10 out of the 25 local government areas of the state.
According to Egwu, the commission discovered that in some parts of the state during the presidential and National Assembly elections, voters refused to use the smart card readers under the guise that the machines failed to function.
“I am aware we had challenges with the card readers in some areas; there was popular pressure to abandon the smart card readers; let me warn that failure to use the card readers the consequences will be very grave
“We will put zero for any polling unit where the card readers are not used,” Professor Egwu declared.
He also said that there was no link between the networks of the telecommunications service providers and smart card readers, insisting that card readers operate independently of telephone networks.
Professor Egwu disclosed that the commission was ready for the conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly elections, saying that it had received all the sensitive materials.
“All the sensitive materials are here in Niger State; we have scrutinised them, we have batched them local government by local government; we don’t have any shortage.”
He added that the materials would be sorted out polling unit by polling unit and despatched on Friday.
Professor Egwu said 31 political parties were fielding candidates for the governorship election in the state while 371 candidates from 27 political parties would jostle for the 27 assembly seats in the state.
The resident electoral commissioner was of the view that Saturdays election “will be more competitive, because all politics are local; elections on March 9 are local; people who did not vote the last time want to vote this time around.”
He, however, called on voters to conduct themselves in orderly manners during and after the election so that they would not run foul of the law.
https://www.akelicious.net/2019/03/inec-threatens-to-cancel-election.html This clearly validate Atiku's claims,INEC is not just serious, the exclusive use of smart card reader for elections should have been made compulsory long ago it's within their powers but they connive with buhari to rig the elections n now they are vituperating this rubbish, ideally the smart card readers should be feeding inec servers in real time or immediately after the elections n the records accessible to all political parties but with buhari/Apc everything about INEC is a mirage. |

kenechukwufrank: An anonymous source has confided in Anaedoonline.com the grand plot by the Senator-Elect of Anambra South, Chief Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to dump the Young Progressive Party (YPP) on which he won the senatorial election of Anambra South and decamp to the All Progressive Congress (APC). According to the source, it was understood that President Buhari had personally called Ifeanyi Ubah to come into the APC and has even given him his first assignment which is to deliver the APC candidate in Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu, who is currently having a problem with the Igbo voters in Lagos.
To be able to get Igbo voters to vote the Lagos APC candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah has allegedly been conscripted to revive his Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, to use it to rally the Igbos based in Lagos.
In a press release on Monday, March 4th, 2019, by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, which was personally signed by Ifeanyi Ubah, TAN was quoted as saying, “The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) hereby endorses the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the Lagos State Gubernatorial elections slated for Saturday, 9th of March, 2019”.
Ifeanyi Ubah, as understood, will relocate to Lagos to rally round the Igbo voters to vote massively for Sanwo-Olu as against the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje.
The source also confirmed that Ifeanyi Ubah will decamp to APC alongside his political son, Dr. Obinna Ngonadi, who is the YPP candidate for Anambra State House of Assembly, Nnewi North Constituency.
The Igbos, specifically Nnewi people, will wonder how Ifeanyi Ubah will sell the APC narrative to them, knowing full well the disdain and hatred the people have for Buhari and APC.
Governor Obiano has of late, been suffering hatred among some Anambrarians just because he supported Buhari and APC against Peter Obi

Godjone: Okon Bassey in Uyo
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday alleged that the votes of the people of Akwa Ibom State were stolen during the recent presidential and National Assembly elections, vowing that they would be reclaimed through proper channebookSpeaking yesterday through the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at a town hall meeting held by the elders and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Uyo, the state capital, the president called on the electorate in the state to defend their votes during Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.
Buhari said it was doubtful that the former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio lost the election, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) robbed Akpabio and the APC of victory at the polls.
He maintained that all the wrongs done during the presidential and National Assembly elections would be addressed through proper channel. “What happened on February 23 was robbery. The votes of the people were stolen but we are not deterred. The president sent me to thank you today. We are going to make sure that everything that was stolen on the February 23 would be restored.
“It is not possible that Senator Godswill Akpabio lost. We are in no doubt that Senator Akpabio is the elected senator of Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district. I and Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the party have been in the opposition for long and we cannot be defeated anymore. “Everyone of you should go out to vote on Saturday and defend your votes; we cannot be cheated; not only you but tell your neighbours to vote for Obong Nsima Ekere and all APC candidates. Wait for your votes to be counted. It is the duty of the federal government to provide security and we will do that. We will recover every one of our votes.
Also speaking, Oshiomhole said the party was not in the state to lament but to thank the people of the state for doing their jobs and voting President Buhari.
He alleged that INEC colluded with some of the electoral officers to deny the state of its electoral victory on February 23, even though he claimed that the people voted for the party.
“We have not come here to brag that our mandate was stolen last week. We have come to thank you that you voted for President Buhari, and all members of the party. You did your job but some armed robbers in INEC stole your votes. “You think that those who stole your votes will have peace? We have come to reaffirm our commitment with democracy. We have come to affirm that no robber will go unpunished but when an electoral umpire is corrupt and collude with the opposition, we have the witnesses and we have lawyers to deal with that. “On Saturday we are not going to wait for them to steal out votes. We call on Akwa Ibom people to protect their votes. We must maintain our sanity even in this hour of provocation. Those who committed democratic abortion would be brought to book,” he said. In his speech, the APC governorship candidate in the state, Nsima Ekere encouraged the people not to be deterred by the February 23 elections but to go out and vote during the March 9 elections, saying the party is sure of victory. He said the people of the state were in need of change and proved it during his campaigns across the 31 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. Ekere assured the president that after March 9 elections, the state would not be in the opposition but would be reunited with the centre “Thank you for what you are doing for APC. The people voted for you; that vote is a revalidation of what the people want. You put Nigeria’s economy back on track.
“We are here because we have faith in you and Mr. President. The opposition and INEC have no choice than to give us back our mandate. Whosoever shall attempt to work against the collective will of Akwa Ibom people, we shall collectively resist. “We send a message to the electoral umpire and the other party that they must respect the votes of the people, every vote must count. Akwa Ibom people love APC”.

Politics › Re: 36 Presidential Candidates Beg Atiku Not To Challenge Buhari’s Victory In Court by Deepthoughts: 9:49am On Mar 05, 2019 |
Okwyla: The Forum of Presidential Candidates and Political Parties for Good Governance, has appealed to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, not to challenge the outcome of the recent presidential election in court.
The forum made up of chairmen and candidates of 36 political parties, who contested the election with the winner, President Muhammadu Buhari, specifically urged Atiku to disregard the advice of those asking him to challenge the outcome of the poll in court.
In a statement read on behalf of his colleagues at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the chairman of the forum, Mr. Shittu Kabir, said the group had started a robust discussion with Buhari and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a view to being magnanimous in victory by setting up a government of national unity.
Kabir said, “We have advised the government to be magnanimous in victory. I believe that will be done. We have urged them that irrespective of political party or religion or tribe, the government should pick the best brains across the land and those who can contribute to the development of the country across the nation.”
He noted that Atiku, who has already set up a formidable team of legal experts for the judicial battle ahead, has the right to approach the court but added that he should forget the litigation option in the interest of peace.
He said, “We strongly urge Alhaji Abubakar to drop the legal option in expressing his grievances. This is consistent with the counsel of many well-meaning Nigerians including Chief Olisa Agbakoba.
“We also believe that the former vice president has made a mark among Nigerians of means who have positively impacted their communities. We think he has a lot more to contribute to developing humanity and promoting peace and progress in our nation, even without holding any political office.
“At his age, he should now avoid any action and utterances capable of fanning the embers of discord, disagreement and violent conduct. Nigeria is greater than any personal or class interest.
“Atiku has his right and nobody can infringe on his right. That is why we have not said he cannot go to court but we are saying he should not go to court.
“Instead of wasting that time and maybe draw our developmental stride backwards, let us give our nation time for development and let the government be focused on providing good governance.
“We need to get the country out of the wood and address national issues instead of diverting the attention of the government by going to court.”
It also said part of their task would be to convince the President to sign the Electoral Bill into law with a view to preventing the irregularities, rigging and violence that usually characterised elections in the country.
He said, “If that bill as approved by the National Assembly had been assented by the president, all the litigations and crimes that we are having would been taken care of.”

ahmedkoded95: President Muhammadu Buhari says only those with integrity and interest of Nigeria will be considered in the next cabinet.
He also promised to appoint more women and youth during his second tenure, acknowledging the “significant role” they played toward his re-election.
He said his administration would not disappoint them.
Buhari spoke at a dinner the All Progressives Congress (APC) women and youth organised to celebrate his re-election, on Saturday.
He said more fertilizers were being made available to Nigerian farmers at a lower rate, adding that this has resulted in an increase in agricultural production and reduction in food importation.
Buhari also called on Nigerian youth to embrace agriculture to ensure more food sufficiency and food export.
He again faulted the 16-year rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he said, “wasted the nation’s resources”.
According to him, the country witnessed “rampant infrastructure decay” in spite of the huge resources earned during the period.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Presidential Election Cancelled By Supreme Court by Deepthoughts: 2:35pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
Beninmann: Kenya's Supreme Court has annulled the result of last month's presidential election, citing irregularities, and ordered a new one within 60 days.
The election commission had declared incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta the winner by a margin of 1.4 million votes.
Raila Odinga, Mr Kenyatta's opponent, said the commission was "rotten" and demanded resignations and prosecutions.
President Kenyatta said he would respect the court's decision but also branded the judges "crooks".
Other elections in Africa have been annulled or cancelled but this appears to be the first time on the continent that an opposition court challenge against a presidential poll result has been successful.
What next for Kenya after void election? The brave judge who made Kenyan history Friday's events as they happened Chief Justice David Maraga said the 8 August election had not been "conducted in accordance with the constitution" and declared it "invalid, null and void".
He said the verdict was backed by four of the six Supreme Court judges.
The announcement drew cheers from opposition supporters both inside and outside the courtroom.
The court ruling did not attribute any blame to President Kenyatta's party or campaign.
What did the judges say was wrong?
Justice Maraga said the election commission had failed "to conduct the presidential election in a manner consistent with the dictates of the constitution".
Kenya Supreme Court says the presidential election was not conducted in accordance with the constitution Image caption Kenya Supreme Court says the presidential election was not conducted in accordance with the constitution He said the commission had committed irregularities "in the transmission of results", adding that the court would provide details in a full judgment within 21 days.
Dissenting judges said that the Nasa opposition alliance - which had petitioned the Supreme Court - failed to prove claims that the polls had been rigged.
The election sparked days of sporadic protests, in which at least 28 people were killed. The vote had raised fears of major political violence - as was the case after a disputed poll in 2007.
How have the two political sides reacted?
Mr Odinga, 72, said the ruling marked "a historic day for the people of Kenya and by extension for the people of the continent of Africa".
He said: "It is now clear that the entire [electoral commission] is rotten.
"It is clear that the real election results were never shared with Kenyans. Someone must take responsibility."
Image copyright AFP Raila Odinga (C) Image caption Raila Odinga (C) reacts with delight in the courtroom Mr Odinga added: "We won the elections and we are going to win them again."
President Kenyatta, in a televised address, said that it was "important to respect the rule of law even if you disagree with the Supreme Court ruling".
Uhuru Kenyatta: Kenya's 'digital president' Raila Odinga - the man Kenyans either love or loathe He called for calm, saying: "Your neighbour will still be your neighbour, regardless of what has happened... My primary message today to every single Kenyan is peace. Let us be people of peace."
Image copyright GETTY IMAGES Uhuru Kenyatta, 10 March 2013 Image caption Uhuru Kenyatta, in power since 2013, won a second term at last month's poll, which has now been declared invalid Mr Kenyatta, 55, added: "We are ready to go back again to the people with the same agenda that we delivered to the people."
The president was more combative later at a rally of supporters in a market in Nairobi.
He referred to Justice Maraga and his fellow judges as wakora ( crooks in Swahili ), saying they had "decided to cancel the election". He warned the chief justice that as the poll had been annulled he was now the president again, not president-elect.
"Do you understand me? Maraga should know that he is now dealing with the serving president," Mr Kenyatta said.
"We are keeping a close eye on them. But let us deal with the election first. We are not afraid."
And the electoral commission?
Chairman Wafula Chebukati noted the ruling and said there would be "changes to personnel" ahead of the new election.
He invited the director of public prosecutions "to prosecute any of our staff that may have been involved in violations".
But he ruled out resigning, saying he had not been accused of wrongdoing.
What have the international monitors said?
After the election, international monitors from the EU, the African Union and the US had said there was no major fraud on polling day and urged Mr Odinga to concede.
On Friday, Marietje Schaake, the head of the EU Observer Mission, said the court ruling represented "a historic day for Kenya and we have always said that people who feel aggrieved should seek the path of the courts".
She said the monitors had at the time pointed to irregularities and encouraged the Kenyan authorities to deal with them.
Ms Schaake said the monitors were awaiting the full details of the ruling.
Raila Odinga will feel vindicated against accusations that he was just being a bad loser in challenging President Kenyatta's win.
However, this historic decision is a massive indictment of the electoral commission. It is therefore no surprise that the opposition Nasa coalition is now calling for a new team to manage the next elections.
This is also a setback for the international, and some local, election observers, who profusely praised the election as free, fair and credible.
People will be watching for the reaction of former US Secretary of State John Kerry, who was the head of the mission for US NGO, the Carter Centre, whose positive assessment of the election was used in court.
Regardless of the winners and losers following the ruling, this is a proud moment for Kenya. The litigation and debate on the merits of the election was done at the Supreme Court and not on the streets.
Chief Justice Maraga said it best in his opening statement: "The greatness of a nation lies in its fidelity to the constitution and the strict adherence to the rule of law."

Politics › Re: I Will Be Lying If I Say I Won't Take Advice From Tinubu - Sanwo-olu by Deepthoughts: 2:22pm On Mar 03, 2019 |
nairavsdollars: Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos State in this interview spoke on the March 9 gubernatorial election in Lagos, and his plans for the state, if elected. TEMIDAYO AKINSUYI brings an excerpt:
The governorship election is just a week from now. Why do you want to govern Lagos?
I believe at this point in time, Lagos, the fifth largest economy in Africa, needs to set new standard on how the state is managed and get new direction. It needs to do a lot of things quicker, faster and better. It needs to have a path through which we can begin to deal with the challenges that come with Mega City states. It needs to re-brand and to position itself for the opportunity that abound. We need to re-calibrate the state’s economy and make it competitive for local and international competitiveness.
Lagos needs to expand its economic base to create more private sector jobs. We have infrastructural deficits across sectors that we need private capital to fund. All these I am prepared to deal with and can do better than anyone contesting against me.
My wanting to be governor also has a whole lot to do with poorest of the poor in the society. A lot must also be done with all the challenges that we see every day – in traffic, transportation, health, education, etc. But, beyond all that, I have a whole lot of passion for people. I have been a people’s person. I am someone who usually wants to give my time to ensure that the next person is better than whoever or whatever he is.
Also, given my several years of experience, I believe this is the right time if I want to do it all. I need to do it right now and get it done. On a lighter note, we have the Not Too Young To Run guys who are ready to displace us. So, I need to do it now before they say I am too old. (laughing)
The Not You Young to run, but you think you fall into that bracket…?
No, I don’t fall within that bracket. There are lots of young people in their 30s and early 40s who also want to do this. They seem to be saying anyone above 40 is too old to be governor or President. There is a lot of technological revolution going on out there and the younger people are pushing the boundaries. They have talents and energy which we must convert for the good of the state and the country. As governor, I will tap into this and work with young people, especially those of them in technology, entertainment and sports.
And you think you’re the right man to do this?
I believe that I am the right man, not thinking…
Do you think that the process that threw you up as the candidate of your party in Lagos was fair?
Absolutely; this is because I earned it. I won an open primary election. Party members freely chose the flag bearer of their choice. The party in Lagos and at the highest level provided an opportunity through direct primaries for states and aspirants in various elective posts to emerge. The party in Lagos followed the guidelines as provided for by the National Working Committee of APC. It was open, free, fair and transparent primary election that brought me out as the candidate. The party members are happy that they had a say in who is their candidate.
The good thing now is we have united the party members across all the divides behind a common goal and objective, which is to win the election next week Saturday and to also win all our House of Assembly seats in Lagos.
But, traditionally, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode should have been given the first right of refusal. But, he was not…
Yes, as a sitting governor, he has the right to seek re-election just like any party member cannot be banned from aspiring to same office. The governor exercised his right. What usually happens is that people say candidates are handpicked. But, in this case, the party decided to throw the contest open. The party said that every card carrying member must have a say. So, we went through a direct primary. It has not been done since 1992. So, over a million people voted and I got the highest number of votes.
So, can you say your emergence was fair?
Very well.Yes, it was fair.
In that sense, are you saying that you will be a man of your own?
At 53? Certainly, I am, and I will be my own man as governor. I appreciate all the support and endorsements of the party structure. I also think that happened because they know me, they know what I have done, my contribution in government, out of government and all the various things that I’ve done. That’s why they’re supporting me. This same question of if I will be my own man is a reference to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who is our leader.
It is important to say that Asiwaju has never had any negative influence on his two successors. He is always about the development of Lagos. If anything else, he pushes us to be better than what we have done in Lagos. He is my leader and a father figure. I will be lying if I say I will not take advice from him. I will seek his wise counsel and guidance, just like I will take advice from Alhaji Lateef Jakande and anyone who have had the privilege of leading the state from when Lagos was created 52 years ago. They all have rich experiences on the leadership and governance of the state. They say experience is the best teacher. https://www.independent.ng/lagos-will-do-better-under-my-administration-sanwo-olu/ Look at this Tinubu stooge talking about fair process perhaps he thinks we all have mental issues like him. |
