PoliticsRe: Nigeria In The Future? by DeepZone(op): 6:42pm On Sep 09, 2008
In 30yrs nigeria would be a more industralized nation with more enlightened people. most people would have ran away to urban areas from their papa's village by then. the first/2nd generation of nigerian politicians would be dead by then so there's hope for the future
Amen.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria In The Future? by DeepZone(op): 6:42pm On Sep 09, 2008
There would be no revolt from the north. For the past 50 years the north has never revolt over economy, only religion issues brought them to the street. there is no sign it going to change soon. The Muslim north believe that everything comes from God, therefore a bad economy too comes from God. This explain the lackadaisical attitude of a core northerner: everything is of God, man cannot change anything except its the will of God.

The northerner only comes to the street to butchered other tribe on the false pretence of religion.
Good observation.

It's obvious that the Igbo tribes dominates Nairaland for example just take a close look at Igbo kwenu thread.

Thanks, they keep correcting me on this thing over and over again but I don't know how to modify a poll.
PoliticsRe: 32 Years For An Ibo President To Emerge by DeepZone: 6:06pm On Sep 09, 2008

What's wrong with the president being related to a different tribe, or being married to someone from a different tribe? How is that strange, when many Nigerian first ladies have been a different tribe from their husbands? I wonder at the hullabaloo here. OBJ himself is rumored to be half Igbo.

Nigeria needs more tribal integration, like it or not. Even if the country breaks up, the different tribes still need to mix in order to erase the closeminded mindset. Obama is half-white half-black. I don't see anyone complaining about it.

Open a thread about the ideal northern preseident and I'll post my views there. This topic is about an Igbo president.
There is nothing wrong with it. What was wrong with the comment is stipulating the the president MUST be married to a non ibo woman to be considered when other tribes did not get such stipulations. As for me, I see the Nigerian presidency as an honorary and personal money making venture and do not care where he/she comes from because they don't have anything positive to contribute to the welfare of their people.

As for people saying the ibo presidency should be due in 32 yrs, do not forget the North has three geo political zones and only one zone has ruled. I suggest the reduce their tenure to 4 years each so that the rotation can go round in 24 years.

Nigeria is in trouble

The way the youths of this country think tells you we are probably living over a gun powder waiting to explode someday?Huh?

What does having to be half igbo or married to someone who is'nt Igbo mean?Huh?? not sure where that argument comes from?Huh
I agree with you, that's why i strongly believe that Nigeria will soon have no choice but to disintegrate. This DisUnited Kingdom called Nigeria is a temporal arrangement. The North will soon bail on us.

I conquered it in Jesus name for a Zionist to mix his precious Blood with an unclean Blood just to be a mare President of a Retard Country, We better wait for Biafra's dream to come true then we can match to the Zion with songs of Praise.

DREAM ON.
Your own comment is even worse than his/hers. who and who have unclean blood in Nigeria? Much as i think his/her comment is weird and uncalled for, i think yours should fall in the same category.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nigerian Monarch Driving Buses In New York by DeepZone: 8:39am On Sep 09, 2008
That's correct but far from the image an average American would have of a so called king.
If I were him,I'll keep the king part secret and just ferry my passengers to their destinations like any other bus driver.
Very good point. The media may twist it to reduce every African king to a common cab driver and there goes their integrity and the integrity of every African through the window.
PoliticsNigeria In The Future? by DeepZone(op): 8:25am On Sep 09, 2008
What are your thoughts and fears about Nigeria in future from the way things are going now?. Do you sincerely believe that your children will see Nigeria as one in the next 30 years? If yes, what and what do you think must change for the unity to be rest assured?

I think the problem of Nigeria is slowly drifting from tribal to mere civil issue, the Nigerian populace are getting tired of their leaders and may soon revolt because they are realizing that irrespective of who is leading, the pain and misery remains the same. I think this crusade will definitely start from the north.
Christianity EtcRe: The Pastors I Respect Most In Nigeria. by DeepZone: 6:57am On Sep 09, 2008
@Deepzone
I mean Pastors that still maintain Holiness and have not comprise in any form unlike many pastors that are interested in just making names, always eager to be noticed in Political Arena and all what not. Again, by the their flock , u can say that this church is a christian one. Friend, do u know that if i was not a christian, i will not become one because it is difficult to distinquish church people from Harlots in the Hotel rooms this days. These pastors(i mean pastors i cherish) stiilll enforce good christian dressings in their churches and give messages that will take the members to heaven not unlike many churches , where the pastors are not interested on whether the flook is following true christianity or not, but only preaches messages like: Prosperity, you shall make it , God searches the heart, what you wear doesnt matter, bring your money , etc. .If christianity is what we see today, then it will be very difficult to go to Heaven. Notice that i am not interested on Pastors that Perform miracles but am only interested on pastors that maintain Christian Standard. Miracles is just for confirmation, miracles doesn't recommend any man to Heaven.
Can you swear on their behalf that they are indeed holy and holier than others?

Tell me why you think that Kumuyi is holier than Oyedepo?

Tell me why Ohanebo is holier than Adeboye?
PoliticsRe: 32 Years For An Ibo President To Emerge by DeepZone: 6:52am On Sep 09, 2008
sebi Goodluck is Ibo, so whats the problem.

He's Ijaw-Ibo, by his own definition.

I personally don't have a problem with an Igbo president, as long as the person is either half some other tribe or else married to some other tribe for more than twenty years.

Just my opinion.

Delta Ibo would also fit the bill, as well.
Why such conditions? Did you stipulate such rules for the North too? Why must the south east present a candidate that married from another tribe? Is there anything am not getting here? That's a weird opinion!!

FamilyRe: Tribal Mark On Your Child. Don't Laugh by DeepZone: 6:16am On Sep 09, 2008
This story is not even funny to me at all. I can't imagine anybody(including my husband) mutilating my child in the name of stupid tradition. Oyo people are so fond of tribal marks irrespective of the time we live in. Who marries a girl will cat claws on her face these days?

Surgery may help but not in all cases, like someone said, the younger, the better. If that mother in law can drag her fat behind to America and witness what many of my Yoruba folks with tribal marks are going through in this society and the way people stare at them like they are from "planet jungle" especially the women, she'll forever regret her actions. Even some yoruba men make fun of their own women that has those stupid marks.

I can't imagine why we can't let go some traditions that has nothing but misery to offer. Someone here said it looks cool, well good for him/her but i'll advise him/ her not to enforce it on his/her children and let them decide to do it on themselves as adults.

Tell your friend to suspend that car, big house etc and take that boy abroad for plastic surgery. It costs about $3k in California. Imagine that boy growing up to look like the picture below in this 21st century? I'm already losing it on that mother in law and may need someone here to hold me back.

Anyone like who??
in just a day? after doing what kind of job? protitution? ( how many men pay girls 50K per session ? ) armed robbery ( yes probably )
but with a dignified job it will be very difficult unless you are a Singer who makes a concert in one night for 2million Naira
Even a Nigerian musician will not smile to the bank with 2M from one show because he/she will have to pay his staff, manager, taxes, bureaucracy, running expenditure etc and may end up with 500K after taking care of these things and how many times a year will he/she hold those concerts?

50 thousand naira is not a small money whether it's in Nigeria, UK, US, japan , Australia or even in heaven.

IslamHow To Become An Imam? by DeepZone(op): 5:43pm On Sep 08, 2008
1)What steps should one take in Islam to become an Imam? Do they have a special school from which you must graduate before you qualify to be one or will you just be an apprentice to a more experienced imam for some years before you can be ordained.

2) Can an individual finance a mosque, open it and be the imam while scouting for faithfuls to grace his mosque?

50 thousands Naira might sound like a lot of money but just a chicken change, anyone can get that type of money in just a day in Naija.
To people converting Naira to foreign money, 50 K might sound a lot which it isn’t
50k is a lot of money both in Nigeria and USA just to go and watch a washed up artiste. It's almost $500 which can pay a month's house rent in most cities in America. I, for sure do not see it as a chicken change.
