Lady Chimamanda, can you please stop this long forgotten discourse? Everyone pricks on molehill to create mountains so they could remain relevant. Lady Adichie is no exception here. The Oba spoke as a man (just like every other human) but in strong yoruba metaphors intelligible to everyone but the igbo nation, being who they are, intentionally twisted the context to draw sentiments and instigate non-existing hatred...That's opportunism. Saying the Ibos should be grateful for being welcome in Lagos shouldn't be taken too far...I wonder why you didn't include the north east states in your discourse where non-hausas are treated with grave suspicion, hatred and skepticism. Why do the hausas descend on non-hausas whenever a little misunderstanding arises? Why are non-indigenes not Openly welcome in the north? If you are blind to that area then your seemingly intelligible discourse (apologetic to your kindred alone for obvious reasons) which tends to hide under the guise if 'nationalism' is nothing but a sentimentally conjured discourse. Broaden your view to capture the real issues and don't just jump on molehill issues to escalate it. I honestly have no time for you now pretty lady, our talk, another day. |
Elslim:Enugu na...Where else? |
hazyfm:What is there in their land to develop? Desert land and inanimate forests? Have you seen two criminals Kinging in the same compound? One will have to relocate for his trade to grow. One thing for sure, the Yorubas or Hausas are not appointed into political or public offices the igbo land. If they do, then they are less than 0.001% compared to the Southwest where we allow them to contest, get appointments into public offices, etc without a care. We are liberal. They are opportunists. That explains the reasoning behind creating BIAFRA and the Niger-Delta's agitation for secession. Our monarchs are to be respected, even though that idea is foreign to the igbo nation because they started with an egalitarian govt in the ore-colonial era. |
Is this the Ambode wearing undersized t-shirt and jeans divided by bathroom slippers? |

Prick no get shoulder; the head enter the rest go enter. - Margaret Thatcher, 1987. |
I know the title of this Ghana movie: Fierce Fiance Fever! FFF featuring John Mensah, Nadia Buari, Osei Tutu and John Dumelo. |
When you give birth to a baby, do u wait until his death before you celebrate his birth? Do u wait until your newly bought Bentley is crashed until you celebrate it's purchase? Do u wait until thunder fire and demolish your new house before u do your house warming? Now it's more obvious than ever why his music never made sense...Watery, pointless, just like himself etcetera. |
Just walk in, say 'Good morning or afternoon'...no need for 'sirs or mas'...then wait until you are asked to sit. There is no formalty about greeting them. |
Stand in front of them, your left arm across your tummy, then say: Good morning The distinguished Chairman, Honorable Panel of interviewers, brilliant co-interviewees, accurate time keepers, and my beautiful audience all over the world. I am here to support the notion that farmers are better than doctors. But before I proceed on my procedure, or before I step on my stepping steppers, or before I symbolise on my symbolistic symbols, i'd like to give homage to who homage is due by defining who a farmer is." That should work ...or isn't is for a debate? Wait o, lemme read the topic again |
You can only blame yourself at the end of everything. Some would kill to get half of the qualities of the guy u mentioned. But then on the flip side, maybe because u guys have over banged each other in the course of the relationship so the spark is gone, or maybe you are too young to appreciate that step u guys are about to take...or maybe you just aren't the marriageable type. Which ever way, when.you are about to break up with him like u plan, just be rest assured that the karma that will haunt n massacre you will be so unbelievably quick but fatal. Thanks. |
If there is anything I have learnt, it is that, when your family member (especially a praying one) objects to your choice of partner, it is extremely delicate and should be treated with utmost caution. If your mum says she doesnt see the guy as your future partner, i'd say pray but trust me, he's not gonna be your future partner. You are not stranded! You have a choice to further your studies, go for it even if you want to be with the guy, he'd allow you to go and come back. So take your masters with both hands....God has a plan for you already. |
Hardwork pays. Used to work with this guy back then in Surulere. Levels don #Change now. Correct! |
The foolc clearly said in a recent interview that he's supporting Jonathan because he's an Ijaw man! Live on a national TV! WTF do u call that? Non-tribalism? The shapeless chunk of meat is another fraud to have sprung from the bowels of Niger-Delta (No apologies pls). If the yoruba were tribalistic, they wouldn't v voted neither Buhari nor GEJ...But GEJ also scored high points in some yoruba states - Oyo, Ekiti, Ondo, etc...When Gej was campaigning four years ago, he got an overwhelming support of the yoruba but now, after seeing his cluelessness, the SW, among the most enlightened nations in the world (different from just being educated o) voted massively for a better prospect. Now Mr Asaro Dokunnubo or what's that his yeye name self feels aggrieved. Sorry beast, your unmerited free national cake will be shared henceforth. Get used to the new #Change |
You broke the no-prank agreement you guys had, he broke the fragile long distance relationship u guys 'had', simple! Tit for tat. Or may be he is also april-fooling you. Thanks. |
juniortuoyo:Right from the topic "...Far More Better...", you got it wrong till then end of your post. He wasn't in anyway better than any of his predecessors...not even the short-lived kangaroo govt of Chief Earnest Shonekan. Don't write based off wounded opinions, write objectively next time. Thanks. |
fratermathy:
Just before u start flapping and yapping, I never supported GEJ/PDP during the elections....(now to my point wrt to your post)
Jonathan was everything but 'desperate and ambitious'...he was 'sycophanted' and 'puppeted' by ambitious people. Left to the guy, he never would have ventured this far, I mean presidency. He knows he doesnt have it in him. Well, at least he ruled nigeria for 6 years. that's some thing. |
coolebux:Na you wan lose them? |
Please stay away and stop corrupting our kids with your washed off garlic smelling fatigued kunta kinte...Psshhhh jeez! Some people really feel important |
