What can one say? FG forgives "repentant" terrorists without any punishment. Just by way of rehabilitation which Evans is going through in prison. Nothing new. I wonder how his victims feel. Hope he didn't kill any of them. |
Since their term will expire in October, I think Gov. Adeleke should wait and plan towards an election at that time. The reality is that Osun people will decide what they want in due course. |
oluseyiforjesus:You're right. It was the most transparent because we had to stand in queues for our choice and be counted manually. Everyone saw the result immediately per centre and people followed up on the collation. We were determined to move from military dictatorship but it turned out that they were not ready to leave. They had the support of some people who kept throwing cogs in the wheel of progress. People like Arthur Nzeribe and one night judge. |
Remembering those dark years.... Thank you Lord for your mercies. |
Many are trying to rewrite history by all means... Those who made our lives miserable and sowed the seeds of pain that we're still experiencing today will have no peace in their minds. |
Formerly repentant guy on the move again! That's why I don't belive in the amnesty/rehab deal. Terrorism is based on ideologies that are difficult to remove from the heart and brain. How come he operates within the Sokoto/Kebbi axis and is so difficult to track? Can't the complaining villagers who he's billing give actionable intel to the security agencies? How does he collect his huge levies? Can't that be tracked too? May God help the villagers. |
Thanks for this. I hope people will learn from this instead of claiming that it's not their fault. Acquisition for personal use of anything that doesn't belong to you is stealing by conversion. |
When is it projected to land? Prayerfully it lands on the sea. |
The fact is that the people have had the opportunity of comparing PDP to APC. Half salary payments, delayed pension benefits, failed projects and heavy loans were some of the complaints I read about then. Those have been taken care of by Adeleke but the government probably has other issues that the people are unhappy about. As true democrats, it's best to allow the people to hold an election with the old ones competing with others for fairness. Those picked in 2022 may not be suitable in 2025 especially with the level of autonomy expected. Are all these people truly capable of managing the resources that will come from FG? |
Kobojunkie:1. Not so easy for the illiterate and semi literate people. 2. You're right. I remember that we had something fairly similar in my younger years (as I modified above in my post), but it didn't impact so heavily on the student's accents. |
How will they communicate with "local" people? Funny thing is that many of our children abroad still comfortably speak with the Nigerian accent even when they've learnt to speak with a foreign accent. Na inside Naija we come dey form. We had English phonetics as a course years gone by...at least in my school. It was listed as Oral English by WAEC in those days and people sat for the exams at O levels. It didn't really drastically change our accents. Just that you learnt to pronounce English words properly. |
Over 100 people were found loitering in the bush around Ondo recently according to reports. The earlier security agents find out what their ultimate plans are and they work against it, the better for the people. |
Mbanda:Ojukwu eliminated Banjo who stood by him. The most reasonable way to assess human beings is to deal with them as individuals. Group assessment based on ones relationship with a few always leads to poor judgement. I've had the opportunity to travel, work and stay in different parts of the nation. What I know for sure is that we have the good, the bad and the ugly everywhere. I've learned to judge each person based on his/her character. All this Yoruba is this, Igbo exudes bitterness and it's a real waste of time. Each tribe has people who continue to excel in every sphere to the glory of God and the nation. It's best to dwell more on that. |
yinkus6750:Put in some packaged ice block to support ice retention when there's prolonged power cut. The point is that inverter freezers consumes less electricity but doesn't form as much ice as the conventional ones. |
Can we stop the rail project that is consuming so much of our money? The funds can be put to better use. Funny thing is that Nigeriens abound aplenty in the upper Northern States. Are we now to treat them as the foreigners that they truly are? Their President needs to think deeply. |
gasparpisciotta:Honestly, the Governor needs to act VERY fast. It's now an "epidemic". |
He didn't kill her. He only sold her body parts that somehow showed up. I.diot. He and his accomplices must be tried and dealt with according to the law. We don't want to hear "Governor didn't sign" if it reaches that stage. All SW states need to stand against this nonsense that is ruining lives. All probably due to the changes in our value system. Every omoluabi must be held accountable for his deeds. A jobless person shouldn't be flaunting wealth without being queried as was the case in the past. Jobless and desperate fake Alfas and fake Pastors creating problems everywhere. ![]() |
People are just being deceived into body parts trade and organ harvesting. A dead human being will not bring money. A few reputable traditionalists have been interviewed on this. Onisegun deals in herbs. He's the traditional medicine man. Babalawo consults Ifa. I think there's also adahunse but in all, killing people will not bring money. People need to be enlightened on this. |
Wow! So shameful. The Osun State Govt needs to urgently look into this and appoint a new king. An alleged fraudulent person brings no dignity to the throne. |
I hope that the security agencies will ensure that all his accomplices are arrested and punished according to the law. Obviously, this is a case of serial killing for organ and body parts trade. Who are the buyers? Who are his trainers and sponsors? It's time to look into the issue of jobless Alfas and Pastors. No one can rely on prayers alone to sustain himself. It's the shortest path to criminality the very least of which is duping members of their group. |
What is more important now is a thorough investigation. Who are his accomplices? Was he selling body parts and to whom? There should be no cover up. We may be shocked to find out that more Alfas are involved. Even Pastors and traditionalists need to be checked. It's now so hard to trust anyone. |
MadPolitician:Try to listen to the interview the NAFDAC madam had with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels and other reports on the issue. Those drugs are either fake, expired or kept in unwholesome conditions. |
lagosrd:Very important points to investigate! |
Kudos to Dr Soludo for this. Other Governors need to do the same so we can rid our nation of these heartless murderers who think they can prosper from other people's blood. |
Nigeria Eight-yr-old Nigerian makes history as one of world’s youngest authors By Obinna Nwaoku, Port Harcourt 13 February 2025 | 12:13 pm The literary world has been abuzz with the emergence of eight-year-old Kamsiyochukwu Anusi, who has become Nigeria’s second youngest author with the publication of his book, ‘Adventures Round the Shining Egg’. This feat also earns him the distinction of being Africa’s third youngest author and one of the world’s listed number six youngest authors. A basic four pupil at Mary Pearl Ville Academy in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Kamsiyochukwu’s love for writing and storytelling has led to this incredible accomplishment. Born in Imo State, he resides in Port Harcourt with his family, where he draws inspiration from his surroundings. In an exclusive interview, Kamsiyochukwu shared his experiences, interests, and motivations. He spoke fondly of his family, including his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chukwuma Anusi, and his siblings, Delight and Excel. The young author’s daily routine includes attending school, doing homework, teaching his sister, and writing stories. Kamsiyochukwu’s passion for writing is evident in his dedication to his craft. He writes at home, often imagining and drawing inspiration from his surroundings. His writing desk is the dining table, where he can focus without distractions. He said he got inspiration from storybooks his parents bought for him, saying, “I read a lot of storybooks and one day I felt like I should write my own story. I tried it, and that was how the whole thing started.” The young author’s book, ‘Adventures Round the Shining Egg’, is also a testament to his creativity and imagination, where he draws inspiration from reality, fantasy, miracles, and magic, often incorporating themes that promote positive values and morals. The young author, who dedicated his book to his parents for supporting him throughout his writing journey and to God Almighty, who has inspired and guided him, also recognized his pastor, Dr Chibueze Amadi, who has taught him valuable lessons on respect, obedience, and perseverance. Speaking to The Guardian, the Chairperson of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Rivers State Branch, Joy Esuku, expressed her excitement about Kamsiyochukwu’s achievement. “I feel excited; that is why I have been committed since I got to know of his writing,” she said. Esuku revealed that the Association plans to engage Kamsiyochukwu in writing activities for children and teenagers, with the aim of nurturing his talent and preparing him for formal membership in the Association. Also, the editor of the book and literary critic, Uduma Kalu, recounted how he was introduced to the young author’s work and was impressed by his raw talent. He said, “I went through it, I told her, well, there is something here, we can work on it, and we started exchanging ideas.” He noted that Kamsiyochukwu’s work is not just a one-off achievement but a historic milestone that deserves recognition and support. Kingsley Egbulonu, Deputy Director and Head of the National Library of Nigeria, Port Harcourt, also expressed his admiration for Kamsiyochukwu’s talent. He noted, “As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, the National Library always identifies with authors and gifted children.” He announced that the National Library will provide space for the book launch and offer Kamsiyochukwu the necessary support to promote his work. He also announced that the National Library will issue the author both E-ISBN and ISBN numbers for the publication of the book. Kamsiyochukwu’s father, Chukwuma Anusi, expressed his pride and surprise at his son’s achievement. “Well, I know he can write like normal writing, but this professional writing, honestly, it just came by surprise,” Anusi said. He attributed his son’s success to his passion for writing and the habit of reading storybooks, which helped to widen his imagination. He advised parents to always keep tabs on their children’s academic development and career interests. https://guardian.ng/news/nigeria/8-yr-old-nigerian-boy-makes-history-as-one-of-worlds-youngest-authors/ |
9japride:Why should a murderer be forgiven without punishment? That's for God to do. On earth, a criminal faces justice so peace can reign in the society. |
They should continue granting the criminals amnesty so they can have the opportunity to regroup and restrategise for more action. Maybe I don't understand the sense behind it but I know that too much carrot without sticks will not augur well when dealing with terrorists. |
All that is requested of the mother is to disprove the allegation of stolen identity. One thing that is still baffling is how they came about the Adetshina name. It sounds Yoruba though not the correct spelling but they're certainly from the South East. Too many puzzles around this family. Just that Nigerians become emotional on matters concerning our own. |
PoloG:Including Mrs Bunmi Anyaoku, Late Prof. Adebimpe Chukwuemeka Ike, Mrs Angela Emuwa (Punch Chairman) to name a few that are easily identifiable? There are many Yoruba ladies married to Igbo men. There are wedding bells tolling for some even now. |
Is it only in Ebute Ero that houses were demolished on the Island? Many buildings were also demolished in adjoining markets starting from the big one by Adeniji junction which is visible from 3MB. Most of the buildings and shops in Ebute Ero are even owned by Yorubas. The earliest traders around Idumota/Ereko/Ebute Ero/Apongbon apart from Lagosians were mostly Kwara Yorubas - the Igbominas. They own many buildings there. They're quite wealthy but humble. No "na we build Lagos" mentality. This tendency for unjustified victim mentality is becoming nauseating. After all, there's no noise when similar situations arise in the SE. Demolitions have taken place in Enugu and Anambra for instance. UN etc should be duly informed about this too. |
I don't believe the tales by Gambarya. Anyone who understands what he did using Binance would know that corruption is fighting back. |
Terrible! The suspect's name should be disclosed. No amnesty for criminals. I pray that he's made to bear the consequences of his action. |
