the most illogical thing to a Muslim is d death of a god. No Muslim's faith can be shaken by the none-death of their God. |
very long! I like to read of heroines. will have to brb. |
shymexx: Ok, I know you feel slighted because you're muslim...no. we can't always have that. Just when one thinks some people are grown ups ![]() btw, u can ask politely if u don't know what my analogy is about. |
thanks for the reminder. I ddnt know of d last two prayers |
This is better than the calabar carnival. The people here are decent. |
Many years from now and he is told, 'You are celebrating Easter' and he replies, ' No. it is just a carnival'. 'It is Easter' 'No, it is a carnival' 'The carnival was easter, a christian celebration.' 'what is easter?? never heard of it.' 'The easter was a Christian religious celebration which became a carnival just like many pagan celebrations became Christian celebrations.' 'oh. really?, but well, it is a carnival. I don't care' ![]() |
whatever brings peace is wise. seriously ![]() |
I hear The president speak for the first Time ![]() |
op, well done.keep telling it to them. But u need to make this more readable. I dont know if this is mentioned in d op. The girls may have psychological problems as a result of this if they get exposed to other cultures. They find out that something is missing in them that other people possess. Mothers should watch out too. there are cases of mother in laws getting it done without d parents consent. |
Those trying not to appear as fools may end up being the fools. I'd rather ![]() |
abisolaarshow: Salamualaekum warahmotullah wabarakatuhu. My name is Rafiat frm Lagos State. Nice to meet every1. I'm glad I found this forum, I ve always been looking for a forum for Nigerian muslims.wa alaykum salam. it is good to have you here ![]() |
I'd say d above is good enough |
congratssss |
There isn't too much difference btwn somalia9 and d people arguing with him. He is a racist, obviously and far more interested in propagating his ethnic superiority over anything else. And you all joined in at it, trying to show how much inferior they are or should be. The world isn't going to change this way. when people who preach religion/faith/creed are d worst offenders. whatever happened to turning d other cheek?? |
interesting stories |
I like this thread so so much. Everything comes back to mind. It is time to start maximising the benefits. The prayer of the oppressed, the fact that when you are sick you are rewarded, etc are just so beautiful and reassuring. alhamdulillah that I am a Muslim. I also Like the part of the prayers from one's parents. I seek that all of the time.I always joke that When I have exams, I do the studying while my parents do the praying. God bless them ![]() |
olamydey: i tot im d only dat noticed. her posts are lousy, vulgar, cheap and petty screaming 'notice meeee'and you don't pose like that in yur own house ![]() |
somalia9: dont take it personally, all people on earth agree with me that you guys look to close to monkeys and look barbaric.....thats my honest opinion, lets agree to disagree ok.Islam is against any form of racism/tribalism. here is what the prophet says- “He is not one of us who calls to tribalism; he is not one of us who fights for the sake of tribalism; he is not one of us who dies following the way of tribalism.” whether ethnicity or tribalism--same ni. |
somalia9: DEOLS PLZ STOP FOLLOWING ME, I LEFT UR NASTY THREAD....STOP STALKING ME.what is wrong with this one? On the issue of slavery and Islam. this boy already said it. But I need to add that, just like alcohol drinking was systemically purged out of the way of life of the arabs with Islam, so was slavery. Slavery was practiced before the prophethood of Muhammad(S.A.W)and to free a slave was such a good act of worship that it earned a great reward. About slaves being those that your right hands possess, it would be with the consent of such a slave. |
2. Who is Muhammad (S.A.W) Lagosboy continues Muhammad is not a god neither is he a demi god rather he is a prophet and a messenger of God to the mankind. He is the last messenger of God to mankind. In Islam there is a difference between a prophet and a messenger. A messenger is a prophet that was sent with a specific message (i.e book). All messengers are prophets but not all prophets are messengers. There were prophets and messengers before Muhammad (PBUH) and the five greatest of such messengers are Noah, Abraham,Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (May the peace and blessings of God be on them all). In Islam we consider all of these noble men to be Muslims and followers of Islam as defined above. We believe in them all and do not distinguish in their message as they came to complement each others work and Muhammad was just the seal on prophethood. Your next questions on his death and so on. He lived for 63 years and he died due to illness. A Jewish woman poisoned him years earlier when he and some his companions were invited to dinner. The woman wanted to test if he was a prophet or not by poisoning their food. The other companions died following the meal but nothing happened to the prophet of Islam which was a miracle from God and he passed the test. It was years after on his death bed he said he felt like the poison of the years before was now affecting him and this was Allah's way of elevating him to highest ranks of the martrys as he always wished for. Yes he did foresee his death and that was the reason why he gave the wonderful and everlasting farewell speech in his first and last hajj after the rulings of hajj was revealed. He never resurrected and no human ever and will ever resurrect until the day of resurrection. He did predict lots of signs to precede the day of resurrection some of which have already come to pass and the major signs are yet to happen. He his in his exalted position in the heavens where Allah has put him in. The other prophets are in various exalted positions as well. |

Questions for this thread should be asked here- https://www.nairaland.com/1242169/ask-questions-islam-muslims-here 1. What is Islam In simple terms, Islam is the total submission of ones self to the will of the one true God. An unconditional surrender and it is "aslama" in arabic meaning surrendered. It is generated from the root word Sa la ma which is also the root word for peace. Islam doesnt literally mean peace as some people claim but it means through surredering ones self to his lord , thereby being at peace with his creator which will translate to peace with the people as well. "The fear of God is the begining of wisdom" as they say. This answer as provided by Lagosboy- https://www.nairaland.com/359506/curious-islamfacts-islam#5024878 |

That is good to see. what can replace flowers if this is to be done in Nigeria? Nigerians don't fancy flowers. |
littleb: I think God that didn't allow Abraham to kill his own son as sacrifice should not allow His own "son" to be sacrificed and killed over some people's sin.If Abraham wasnt allowed to kill his son, out of God's love, y would God allow the killing of his own son...when he can 4give without d killing. |
I still want to see this thread as implying that Muslims are tolerant of others as shown by the Imam. whether his action is actually Islamic or not is d debate I'd want 2 get into rather than what sect he belongs to. |
