And no one,not a single soul would care to get this guy a single bowl of garri huh Even though he was fighting for all.

We need to start seeing things as a 'we' against them and maybe maybe things will happen for us.

I want d guy 2 see ds situation as a test from God. Is he one of those to pass or to fail?

Asking these questions in the 1st place denote some level of faith. I hope Allah keeps him strong.

And making contributions for him is a very good idea.

ossyme: That is the etho we need to embrace and am forever a champion of simplicity in all affairs if it derives from humility to allah and sincere avoidance of sheer ostentation. My nikaah gulped less than a month salary and i thank allah for that. Looking forward to a second wife and sisters who are ideologically convinced can reach me.
I hope you dont mind my asking personal questions. You may ignore them if you so wish.

For how long have you been married to your wife?
Is there something you are not getting from her that you think another woman might provide you?
If yes,do u mind mentioning it?
Have you always had the thought of marrying more than a wife even before you married the first one?
Were your parents polygamous?
How financially buoyant are you?You can give a range if you dont want to be precise

Dont be offended pls. I just want an understanding.

tbaba1234: Backbiting by Muslim couples - I have observed that a fair bit of backbiting goes on. We can certainly discuss events without that.

My qualities in a wife: I do not think I have written about this, so here goes:
1. Religiously consciousness and willingness to learn: I am always trying to learn about Islam so I want someone with a. similar drive. My hope is to raise children with the right Islamic values n deep knowledge. The resources to learn will not be a problem in sha Allah. undecided
2. Intelligence : someone I can have deep conversations with about a wide range of issues. Someone I can learn new things from.
3. The wedding: I intend to have a simple proper Islamic wedding and I already know there would be opposition unless opinions change. Instead of spending 5m for a huge haram wedding, I'd rather give it for my wife's Mahr or to poor struggling Muslim families. Any woman, I marry must support my stance on this issue.
There are many others but this is the top 3.
Interesting. And I thought this was all. Was going to say simples! when I realis3d it is only the top three.

No.3 is very deep I must say.

Still searching or nikkah is on d way? Wishing you the best anyway.

I'm interested in what other things are on the list.

uplawal: Ms Bola, that is where you know reach,as it is in yoruba,so it is in Hausa girls or guys, except the ones Allah guides right, most Yorubas i know to be muslims are very deep in the religion of Islam except some that don't care, even as at that you will still find them fasting in ramadan, and praying as well, and alsoyoruba girls wear hijab nowadays pass hausa girls,i can tell you its very few of them that don't,where as hausa don't even care to wear the hijab again, cos the are influenced by the west,it reminds me of some hausa girls i know they dnt dress islamically, the way they dress is purely abominable,i weep for them, they smoke, shesha, cigarett, etc, sleeps with men, carry boyfriend around and abort pregnancy anyhow, and the worst of it they are too lazy, most Yoruba girls have seen its either they have done their aqeed nikah within family and two witnesses already, then later celebrate the walimat with pregnancy, which is good, but when people like you go for the walimat, you start judging without right that they use pregnancy do Nikah,av never seen one hosestly, yorubas are knowing islam more than any tribe now. Also, its very rude for you to say yorubas lure their female girls to sex before Nikah, even my family that are christians,my sisters married as virgins. a\
I agree with the part where u say pple shouldnt judge others. Many pple av their aqid nikkah without any elaborate ceremony.

But I think it would have been better if everyone takes d advice of the prophet prompting every1 to announce the wwddings.

Eeyahhhh @ logicboy. You sound so confused now and instead of admitting your failure at having those fingers pointed at Islam, you are bringing irrelevant issues.

Zina is an entirely different topic. I know you enjoy it but it doesnt in d least make Islam a religion that indoctrinates racism.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 8:56pm On Nov 19, 2012
Logicboy03: lol.....who were the people of the book? Jews and Christians made up of mainly Jews.

Even the quran talks about the descendants of Abraham. So it has to do with race. Do you thinK that I dont read the Quran?
Not only the children of Abraham are mentioned but also the children of Adam and the son of Maryam.

None of these is mentioned in a context as to connote racism.

You cant possibly be giving these ridiculous 'proofs'. Am starting to like Abdulsleek better. He appeared smarter than this. Give up d argument already. Would you?

Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 8:47pm On Nov 19, 2012
Logicboy03: Lmao.

1) I didnt mention unbelievers or Kaffir

2) The muslims at the time of revelation were all one colour

3)The people of the book were Jews and Christians.
They werent all of one colour Bilal bn rabba is a good example. He was black,a companion of the prophet and one of the best of Muslims.

Najash was an Ethiopian king. Ethiopia is an African country and their language isnt arabic(as that would av made them arabhuh). Najash was a christian b4 reverting to Islam and he offered d Muslims assylum for sometime.

Logicboy03: Advocate666 was cautioned for joking on a thread. some minutes ago. Your lies for maclatunji aint working
Why on earth would I lie for maclatunji?

You seem to do selective reading or is it selective understanding? I said to give a try and things might be different. Put might in quote.

Whatever problem you have with d moderation of the Muslim section has nothing to do wv me and actions of maclatunji are very personal. It has to do wv his personality and d power nairaland bestowed on him. Either face him or Seun..leave others out of it.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 7:29pm On Nov 19, 2012
advocate666: The problem with starting a thread like you said in your section is that it will get banned.
Why not give it a try. Don't follow the mob.

Ask all of those complaining about being banned and u'd realise many used abusive words.

On this thread u havent found me insult Jesus or any other thing Christian but many of the christians coming to the Muslim section have the intention of insulting Muslims and what we stand for.

If you all would change your ways, tjings might become different.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 7:25pm On Nov 19, 2012
Logicboy03: Lol.....at the time of the revealing of the Quran, all muslims were Arabs.
A big lie.

Najash was an African(Ethiopian to be precise) king who became a muslim. Evwn though far away,Allah informed the prophet of his death and his janaza prayer said on absentia.

What many of you dont realise is,even right now they all speak arabic in very different dialects.

The Quran was in a very unique language and rhythm that the arabs of then needed the words interpreted for them. They were in tribes and very disunited without a common ruler. If racism was to be an Islamic thing, the Qurayshi would have been raised above others because the prophet was from that tribe and in fact, it was one of the most noble arabian tribes before Islam.

With the advent of Islam came the bond that has provided us the arab world of today.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 7:19pm On Nov 19, 2012
wiegraf: This is more a semi rant. When I see muslims here, I become a bigot. I can understand a few of you understand how freedom of speech works, but the very vast majority don't. So I tend to just assume I'm addressing a hypocrite. I mean, it's like trolling whenever y'all come over, except it's not as you seem to genuinely believe the situation is fair. Which is even worse. I'll try to stay calm, this isn't my forum after all. Freedom of speech, etc

To answer your op, I'm no xtian, I don't know. Just want to point out that all religions have an element of them vs us, even benign ones. They are meant to aid cooperation, they set up contracts for how to deal with your neighbor. For most people, if their neighbor hasn't signed up to the same code of laws they subscribe, they become mistrustful. This leads to some intolerance, and some go too far.

Like you guys. You're infamous for views on kaffirs for instance. Two wrongs don't make a right of course. The bible might be guilty of some racism and that is bad, period. But I hope you've not deluded yourself into somehow thinking you are superior. Intolerance of all sorts is bad, racist or otherwise. But somethings that's even worse is being banned from being able to discuss or highlight it.

I'll leave you alone....for now
It is funny how you had to blab that much. Well, I can c from your post that you say yes to my question. That is enough for this thread.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 4:27pm On Nov 19, 2012
You are getting it wrong man. Muslims are not a race. There are Muslimsvin evry race and that makes d verse u quoted wrong in ds regards...

How about starting ur thread on dat?
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 3:31pm On Nov 19, 2012
Logicboy03: lol....

The hypocrisy of a muslim posting this. Is there racism in the bible? Yes! Yawehs instruction tothe isrealites to commit genocide is there. Jesus's treatment of the Canaanite woman is there.

However there are two ironic things here

a) There is also racism in the Quran and many other religions.

b) This same topic wouldnt be tolerated in the islamic section. "Does the Quran preach racism"

c) When a similar topic gets banned by Maclatunji, muslims like Deols will keep quiet (ironically when their Quran tells them to speak out against evil).

wink
Well, I avnt always agreed wv maclatunji and his methods. Go and see the complaints thread and u will find that out.

Once again, this is about the bible. You may want to start a thread on Islam and I wld meet you there

To be clear. It is a great lie to claim there is racism in Islam. With the hadith I quoted earlier, you can be sure of that.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 2:30pm On Nov 19, 2012
okeyxyz: @OP,
To ask if the bible preaches racism is actually asking no question in particular. The bible is just a book of records and there are at least three religions that use it as authority, whether wholly or partially. So you need to direct your question to either christianity, judaism, or islam.
Read the op again and u wld realise that my question is directed to Christians.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 2:28pm On Nov 19, 2012
okeyxyz: Is there a doctrine of racism in islam against blacks? I'm not challenging you, just asking.

@deols can as well help with this question.
I didnt respond to that earlier because I didnt want to derail the thread.

In d last sermon of the prophet(S.A.W) he made it clear that an arab is not better than a non arab nor is a non arab better thana arab. Our position in the sight of God is based solely on piety.

At the early period of Islam,a well known muslim was Bilal bn Rabba. He was a black man and has the honor of being the first muezzin(caller to prayer) of Islam.

DEUTERONOMY 7 VS 6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

AS FOR THE PASTORS AND CONGREGATION IN NIGERIA SUPPORTING THE LAND OF ISRAEL, THESE PEOPLE ARE IGNORANT NINCOMPOOPS AND IMBECI-ILES. ITS A CASE OF THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND. HOW CAN YOU BE THE PASTOR OF A FLOCK AND YET YOUR KNOWLEDGE BASE IS SPARSE. NO KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORY WHATSOEVER. SCRIPTURE SAYS MEASURE THE TIMES DILIGENTLY, MEANING YOU HAVE TO JUXTAPOSE SCRIPTURE WITH HISTORY AND WORLD OCCURENCES. THESE FOOLS DONT KNOW THAT THE REAL ISRAEL IS NO LONGER IN THE LAND BECAUSE OF THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION ( LUKE 21 VS 24 ) ( REVELATION 11 VS 2 ) ( DANIEL 8 VS 13 ). NOTHING PISSES ME OFF THAN WHEN I SEE BLACK PEOPLE SAYING THEY SUPPORT ISRAEL AGAINST IRAN BECAUSE THE LORD IS WITH THEM. YOU DUMMY YOU ARE SUPPORTING AMALEKITE-EDOMITES. ISRAEL HAS BEEN KICKED OUT OF THE LAND BY THE ROMANS IN 70 AD
I was hoping someone would make known the other part of your thread where you mention d blind flock following the one eyed shepherd as a description of the Nigerian christians in question.

While I agree with how God exalts some people over others,I would want to know if there is distinctly something against the arabs in d bible?
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 11:47am On Nov 19, 2012
Reyginus: Good one. It is always wonderful to follow a preceeding verse before drawing any observation. Also, stop using an isolated issue as a general truth.
Let's see the verse that preceeds it.
Verse 12. 'They made a covenant in which they agreed to worship the LORD, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and soul'.
Do you get that?
There is no foistering of the punishment on them. They agreed upon the worship of the God of Isreal and the penalty for offenders. It is a covenant they made with God.
So what next?
You need to read the original post again.
If I meant it as a general truth,I wont be here asking questions.

Do you see the victory of Isreal as your victory as a christian?
Christianity Etc › Re: Does The Bible Preach Racism? by deols(op): 11:11am On Nov 19, 2012
Reyginus: No. It is not.
So what do you say of the following verse. Someone claims churches in Nigeria are praying for Isreal based on that.

'That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 chronicles 15:13)

I Agree. the topic should have been does the bible preach racism?

Yahweh is racist, preferred one tribe to the others thanks to an old man who was willing to sacrifice his only son as proof of his love for Yahweh...
yahweh in this context would mean who?
