;DIt was the same dude that calls for the entire religious Centre should be paying tax I don’t know if this law has implemented.
and he destroyed all the mosques inside the state secretariat. I hope he pays dearly for this, with something, like his presidential ambition?? |
lekzwyc: U retaliate by bombing them, destroying life and properties?...islam is a religion of peace indeed.yh! Islam is a religion of peace. Certain acts like this of Fashola create oppression and the need for revenge. I do not support terrorism. Fashola is planting the seeds of hatred. I hope he realises this early enough |
Reference: Look, he should respect their obligations and not sign any such law. Muslim and Christian parents should have the right to protect their children and seek the same protection in public as they have in their homes. If Fashola has a problem it is with rampaging decadence in his ball park. However it is understandable that some may have certain reservations and fear prejudice. This then behoves on those given the freedom of choice the responsibility to ensure the choices of others are equally respected. History has indicated this is where the thing always breaks down. Knowing the limits.thank you o jare. Many reasonable people exist after all. |
Basics007: Hijab is the least of problems facing lagos state education at the moment. I hope all the schools in lagos have functioning laboratories, hope all the teachers are up to standard, hope all the classrooms are conducive for learning, hope the pass rate for WAEC/NECO is more than the failure rate, Infact i hope they are affordable for the common man. And so much more.talk of misplaced priorities. I wonder if any1 dictates how his children dress where they school |
sadyeek: This can't be true, why is it that you people deliberately look for the trouble of Muslims and at the end when they retaliate you call Muslims all sorth of names. Islam is a way of life, it's life it's self. You can't be a muslim and not have Islam in your life. They go hand in hand.true talk o jare. Those against your statement just cant read between the lines. |
nagoma: He should ban wearing cloth all together. All of us including fashola wear born naked. You ban everything or allow people the choice.yes. It would be good if he starts walking unclad. After all, his dress sense is christian and that should be banned. Fashola is digging his own graves. He'll learn soon |
toba: I wonder too ooo. In some org, wearing of hijab isnt allowed even by muslim bosses. Some muslims prohibits their staff from wearing same. even Fashola a muslim is working against it.what else is expected of you? Someday, some1 will ban you from building any church anywhere for the land would belong to all nd d law would have to be respected. Hope u'd shine ur teeth happily when it happens |
Here we go with the usual crap. There is a school uniform which all student must wear. This is part of the rules and regulations of the school. Why violate the rules with your religious dressing? If my religion is IYA, would I be allowed to go to school with my cloths filled with charms and amulets? If you cant adhere to the rules of the school, why not go to an all Muslim school?
does the Nigerian constitution give room for religious activities in public places or not? If it does, then why shouldnt he be allowed to go to school wv his charms? Does the hijab affect anyone at all or stop them from teaching or learning? The next time you think intolerance, think you |
amosy007: u are a bomba clat ..if you read his\her posts again, u'd realise it makes sense. |
ziccoit: This proposal is beyond human being not to mention a state governor.thank You o. Their ways are more disturbing to others but no one cries for a ban on their mode of worship. I wonder how covering your body affects any1 |
StarFlux: why o? islam has caused so many conflicts. i do not hate anyone, but islam cant be allowed to winthis is how you cause trouble. I have always said that an average christian is more intolerant than an average Muslim. While a Muslim would however make bold claims to what they believe in and keep to them, the hypocritical christians would enschew cowardice and just move wv the flow with such claims as the 'heart is all that matters' ![]() |
Cant they wear their unformed like every other students? Must you bring religion into everything?
the meaning of what you just said is cant they dress like the christians do? That is like forcing them to choose a .life different from the one they want, a big tramp on their fundamental human right |
i like the ones you posted just before and after my reply. I have seen Jimmy choo brands that are kinda that way. I want to know if you have metallic colours of the black one- gold or bronze. And the second one looks gold. Is it? And what are their prices. |
I remember a song I usedd to hear as a kid that goes thus_ mo ni Allah nile, mo ni Allah loko, mo ni Allah lodede, mo ni Allah nibi gbogbo. Meaning..I have Allah at home, I have Allah on my farm, I have Allah on my passage, I have Allah everywhere. but, is Allah truly everywhere?? |
Art is an important pairing in religion. In fact art is an important tool period; a tool used to highlight another subject. I've always been intrigued by Islamic art - not only because of the prohibition of any depiction of Allah or the prophet (which has left Islam with no figure illustrations) which is actually unique in a religion but I'm amazed by the decorative designs and patterns. It appears so simple yet so intricate. Even the Arabic script is pretty artistic. However I doubt these patterns I see in Islamic art are random or meaningless. I wonder what inspired them, what do these patterns convey or mean? How is art regarded in Islam? Is Islamic art tied to a particular culture? Any Muslim artists one can recommend or even examples of Islamic art?
i identify with some of what you wrote. In fact, i had them in mind while opening the let us celebrate thread. I however wont be able to answer all your questions because i am not versed in it too. I'd like to mention though that the Islamic art cuts across. You could talk of the language, which definitely is arabic having it in mind that not all arabs speak\understand it. In fact, the manner of recitation of the Qur'an, which even as evolved requires some formal education. In terms of architecture, the islamic art would be depicted by the structures of mosques which despite being in different shapes and sizes are almost all d time characterised by minarets and domes. When this practice startted, I dont know of. But a combination of both in a place sure signifies a mosque, or something Muslim or Islamic. Other symbols very much attributed to Islam are the crescent and star. I have heard these have their origin in Malaysia(but not sure of it). The moon is significant in Islam as you must have known that some acts of worship are subject to the sighting of the moon. What the stars signify I dont know. Generally, there is nothing spiritual about the symbols. Deciding to use or not use them has nothing to do with faith and Muslims, especially organizations have coined different logos from the most known ones. For example my Muslim primary school has the kaabah and a minaret as its logo and others might just use the crescent and the stars. The hijab has also been used as a logo or symbol of Islam. Flags too, with arabic letterings of varying meanings. |

davidylan: Right here bro, right here.this ogbeni is feeling funky ![]() You guessed right my friend!even though you came back later and after I brought the thread back? yours is a case, pathetic. @ Deols, have you asked yourself why allah allows muslims to "pass over" hell at all in the first place? Why supplicate for 70 yrs, pray, starve yourself at ramadan every yr and waste money going to stone the devil in saudi arabia just so you can pass like the wind on a knife edge over hell?it sounds logical to me. It must be that all christians, irrespective of how good or bad they were would have a chance to be in the best band in heaven(since your christian heaven is an avenue for singing and dancing). Are you telling me that everyone who proclaims to be christian gets the same position as the others. You can steal, kill, drink, commit adultery and claim to be christian and voila, u get the sonorous voice and sing for eternity?? think dude, think. |
donno where this is, nor the name it bears BUT, I know it is a sight to behold

can we have a referendum so the Yorubas can decide whether they want a leader in the first place or not? |
he should state the name of the person, time of death and its circumsances. Its the working of jinns. they tell them 1% of the truth and 99% lies. |
some people spend all their lives trying to be the opposite of whom their parents are. the individual should matter more. It should be a problem only if she thinks/acts the way they do. |

sino: Buhari omo musa is a comedian and business man, but his ajanosis are good sha.yes, I agree it is an art worth celebrating. I enjoy listening to them. There's a guy I listened to at an event in Ilorin sometime ago. The good thing about his recitation is his good tajweed. MashaAllah, a combination of the local one in a very modern style got me tripping(hmmn, astaghfirullah!!!!) |
sino: The national mosque is an architectural masterpiece, a magnificient edifice and a superstructural beauty. First time i was in it was mesmerizing, the beauty was astonishing. The mosque big no be small. One thing i noticed was that you are not allowed to sleep in it, i guess for the mosque not to be messed up, cos i observed the fajr prayer then tried to relax and view the mosque from another angle, when a mallam told me not to, i tried to play lagos boy looked for another location, a very far away place only to be disturbed again by the same mallam yelling in hausa lol.thanks for those words ![]() I dont think they have a good excuse for not allowing people sleep in the mosque. the mosque in Islam has more functions than to just be a place of worship. and btw, why do u lagos people think u can always have ur way?? Guess the man did it a mallam's way..lol |
