tbaby2015: Anyone pls help with this. @Justwise, @nefertitiram, @Tvegas.THANKS I dont think your changing hospital is a big deal, but i would advice you have a good reason for doing this just incase the Vo should ask. Or better still if you dont want to complicate things you can stick to your old hospital for the interview and port to the new hospital when you get to the States since according to you they are both in the same axis. |

(after telling your VO its because of better medicals for you and your LO). See people shouting future president. Do you realy think that the VO's dont know that all these talk of better health service na 'wash'? They know that the quest for the American pali is the koko for most people that seek visa for birthing. |

demiiii: i really appreciate you all. is it ok i still buy 2weeks ticket? and i can mail the embassy of my intention to deliver. maryland is my preferred location but i am stuck because i hear it is very expensive./state are you going self Why buy 2 weeks ticket,i want to believe its because of some kind of "promo" ,because we both know that 2wks will not cut it,you would definitly be in the states forr much more than that,so my advice to you is buy a ticket that will not make you look suspicious at poe,and also a ticket that you can change dates with minimal cost ,just in case your baby arrives early. with some of these promo tickets you have to cough out almost the price of a new ticket if the need arises for you to change dates o. So put all these into consideration when making your decision. |

demiiii: how many weeks ticket did you buy. Every 1 is saying buy two to three weeks and I am preggy. I dnt have any doctors appointment nor letter to d embassy. Help. Can't even lie I will strongly advice you against showing up at poe with big belle without doctors crrespondence. Its better to be prepared and they dont ask for it,than not having it and they ask for it. Getting a hospital and doctors appointment is not a big deal now! You just need to do small research work here on this thread. Na Which city/state are you going self? |

Nasadiva: Hello Everyone. I can see there are lots of GOOD HEADS in this forum. Please I need an urgent advice, I am September mum and will love to leave b4 35weeks, the problem is my visa will expire 2nd week of August. If I stay to renew I will cross the 35 weeks, if I leave, my visa will expire b4 I even put to bed. What do I do? Another thing, if I stay to renew, will they grant my application at that advance stage? You can travel before your visa expires, the important thing is that you get to poe before the expiration date. Its the cbp officer at poe that will ditermine how long you are allowed to stay in America. For example if your visa will expire on the 10th March, and you travel on the 5th March and the cbp officer stamps you in for 6months, you are within your rights to stay in america for the next 6months. And moreover,i dont think there is anything that says you have to wait to renew your visa untill the expiration date,i stand to be corrected. Gurus in the house should pls contribute |

slimwendy85: Thank you Shagaman. I got someone to book for me, but I read something about obtaining an electronic travel authorisation for most non USA citizens. Heard of this? Does it apply to me? Also, does American airline have any baggage allowance? Shelly thanks for suggesting southwest airline. Why dont you consider the southwest airline because of their baggage allowance of two 23kg bags, and also check the airport they fly from to see if its convinient for you. My 2 cent though! |

oas99: Your bags are dropped in Atlanta cos u can't predict what could happen @POE, once u are allowed to enter the US, then u can pick ur bags and join the next flight to your final destination peradventure they wanna send ppl back to their country, your bag is available immediately. They don't even send that u miss your connecting flight they are never in a hurry That was not the case when i flew delta from Lagos to Chicago and POE was Atlanta, my checked in bag was transfered to the chicago flight at atlanta by the airline staff without me seeing it,just went through CBP at Atlanta with my hand luggage and was asked if i had any food and i said no |

And after you get there if you still decide to look for an apartment ,you can now do that while you are on ground |

k711: Hello house,
Please I'm in a dilemma. Forgive me cos my hormones have taken a better part of me. I got a visa last year june for vacation which was duly used. Tho I went to Houston instead of califonia. I was not pregnant at the time so there was no case of lying to the vo. I found out I was pregnant in september. (Pregnant with twins). The thing is I have decided to go to elpaso. All flights to elpaso are crazily expensive except United that seems cheaper. But I'm scared of Houston poe even tho I intend to pay all my bills before going. 1.Do I need to send a letter to the embassy to inform them about my intention? 2. Do u think I will still have problems at Houston poe? 3. what other airline or route can I go thru to elpaso? Biko help a sister out, I'm going crazy here plus my tummy Don big pass person we dey born triplet sef. You dont have any reason to freet. My sisters case was exactly the same, had gotten a b1/b2 visa for vacation, and had used it for that ,after which she decided to use it for birthing. She sent a letter to the embassy nform them of her intentions to use it for birthing and she got the generic reply. Her poe was Dallas and suprisinly she wast stressed at poe, spent a total of about 3 mins with cbp,no secondary inspection and not a single document was demanded. Just pepare well and pray |

Idileke1: Hi Everyone one, Please i will like to know if i should try this once again if i wont be refused. 2 years again i applied for a US visa that i was going for a cousin's weding, but i was denied a visa cos the lady that interviewed me ask if i was pregnant which was so glaring that i was pregnant but i lied that i was not ,3months later i delivered my baby here in Nigeria, i almost die after the delivery cos the baby"s palcenta was not all evacuated from my womb. Applied with my husband and son last year may for our church conference but we were denied because i lied the last time i was pregnant. This year now am pregnant and i want to apply again myself alone without my husband an son ,but this time around and ready to say the truth and also pay all the hospital bills before going to the embassy. but i will like to know if it's safe to make all payments for hospital bills and hotels bills before showing my face at the embassy. as am 16weeks now I dont think its mandatory for you to make payments before going for your visa interview,i think all they are intrested in is to see that you have made adequate arrangments. You can get doctors correspondence without paying in advance, you can also book accomodation on booking.com without making any initial payments. Just be truthful and pray for favour. I have read of people on this forum that got their visa on the 3 attempt. If your previous attempts has been from lagos,If you can,i will advce you to try abuja, this time around |

macorondo: @lalavita Thank you for the advise truly appreciate this ma'am. Yea that's the reason I am travelling early as my preggie will not noticeable at that stage. Would Informing the embassy be ideal as we have not travelled to the USA before, this would be our first time, won't our visa be cancelled? But if I go in unnoticed would that be a problem? I dont think your visa will be cancelled,it dosnt matter that you have not travelled before, the important thing here is be truthful about it and your being able to convince them that you were not pregnant when you applied for the visa . Write to them and explain yourself, worse case scenerio is they invite you for a chat and you go with your burden of proof |

tbaby2015: hello everyone, i seriously dont get this. Does a POE officer have the right to check through one's things? I've been to other countries by Grace and a POE officer only requests for anything he needs from you. On no occasion has my phone or bag been checked for information. Anyone with key information, please let's know. Maye it's the confidence you show them that matters on this issue or what? @Justwise, any idea? i I know for a fact that the cbp people are backed by law to do this, they can search your laptop, tablets, phones etc and can even take them outside the airport to another location for further search and can keep such a device for up to 30 daysi. And the law says you dont even need to be a suspect for them to do this.. Custom officers in other countries also search peoples eletronic devices also, its nor pecuiliar to America |
