Good morning mamas & papas in the house, is anyone travelling in May with Delta? Just called their ticket office and the price they gave me made my eye water! N391k something. Biko nu, does anyone have a better alternative? On wakanow, the same ticket and date goes for N338,095 & 377,623. I have never booked tickets through an agent b4 except with Dubai and I hear that if u experience challenges or want to change dates, that it is difficult when u use any agent. Anyone with useful info, please help out.
Thanks.
Try wakanow on Lagos- New York Route ( leaving lagos on 15/5/15 and returning on 30/7/15) Virgin atlantic,BA and Delta are all between 210k/220k. If you get a suitablle date,i would advice you call their office and find out if you can change return date for a liitle fee before you go ahead and pay.. You can then buy a domestic airline ticket from New york to whereever you are going.

If I may continue,

Now, the issue on ground now is that my son doesn't have a US visa. I just got his interview date today which is in April.
How do I prepare for this? Do I go with him like I'm the one preparing for the interview with all my burden of proof? I am thinking they might now want to question me based on my child birth since they did not have the opportunity the last time Or do I stay back and let my husband take him (he his not traveling with us but joining us after the baby is born).
I dont think who takes your son for the visa interview matters,i think what matters here is that whoever is taking him should be prepared with your burden of proof, since the reason for your sons trip is that he is accompanying you for child birth. You just might be lucky and they might not ask to see much, but it is better to be prepared just in case they ask.

Hello guys,

I need urgent advise on this. You guys have been really helpful.

My self and my child have 2yrs Visa we got in 2014, we travelled in the same year and spent 2 to 3weeks. we currently in naija. While we were dere, my hubby applied for d visa for the 1st time stating he was going for a conference for enterpreneurs in a state he knew nobody. He wasn't given d visa. This was around october

What should he do?
I would advice that your husband should reapply and go for the interview just after you have gone and his reason for travelling should be that he is going to join his wife who is having a baby there. There is no big deal about it,there are people on the thread that were denied visa on 2/3 diffrent occations and were finally given ,and most of these denials were within 6months, so your husband does not have an issue.
Did you say he was denied because he was going to a state where he knew no one, what happened to hotel accomodation reservation or dint he make a hotel reservation?
I would advice him to try Abuja this time around, though i doubt it makes much diffrence anyway, but lets believe the ppl that say they are nicer VO'S in Abuja.
If he is asked about his last interview,he should be truthful and tell them exactly what transpired, because they will have it on record.
If asked where he will be staying,he should give them the same address you did, since his reason for travelling it to be with you during child birth
He should go with the Following:
Photocopy of your passport information page and visa page.
Your hospital and doctors correespondence.
Evidence to show he can afford the trip & to show ties to home country e.g. bank statements, Cof O of landed property, houses etc
Evidence to show what he does for a living e.g. letter of employment, pay slip, letter from his employer stating he is going on vacation, but if he owns his own business ,he should go with documents to prove this.

Hello everyone pls I'm new here but I will like if you can be of help to me.I will like to give birth in u.s precisely columbus ohio because that is where I have a relative there but I don't even know how to go through everything. hospital charges and doctors charges.I saw riverside hospital and mount carmel east but it's only delivery charges that is there without charges like epidural and pediatrician and all other things.
Thanks for all the advice in anticipation
Go back to the hospital website, there should be a way of contacting the hospital and doctors affiliated with this hospital, this can be done by mail or phone and ask them for a detailed bill break down

Hi Guys, I was wondering if any of beautiful and optimistic people can help me.

Me and my wife is in USA on b1/b2 visa Untill end of July, my wife is pregnant and our baby is due first week of June, I have been told to go to ben taub Hospital.

It's only me and my wife here since its first baby I am running around like headless chicken.I was wondering what would be the process.
I have taken my wife to ibne Sina in southwest and they gave me confirmation of her pregnancy and told me to apply for chup as far as I am concerned I am not us resident on b1/b2 visa.any help would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Riz
If you were told to go to Ben Taub i am guessing you are in the Houston axis. So you should search for hospitals and doctors in that axis and tell them you are paying cash,so that you can get the self pay discount.
Dr Fagbohun and oakbend hospital is a good place to start.
On no account should you take anyform of medical aid o,except you and your wife dont have any plans of coming back to the Us ever again, because visa renewal would almost be impossible if you do that.
With a bit of research on the old and new thread, you should be ok.

Yes this helps. Thanks a lot smiley But do you advise I purchase the ticket from Nigeria here or when I arrive New york I should purchase the ticket from the airport I decide to leave from?
I will advice you to buy it from 9ja,infact buy i will advice you buy it as soon as possible. Because the sooner you buy it the cheaper it will be. Pls dont wait till you get to new york before buying it o. A ticket that will cost you $150 if you buy it lke 4wks before the date might end up costing you about $800 if you wait till the day of travel.

Hello everyone,

Please for those of us that landed in Newyork and then moved on to Houston, please I need some very important information from you guys.

Although I have bought my ticket to houston direct, however I am planning to change my poe to Newyork.

So I need to know how you got a domestic flight from new york to houston details and possibly accommodation in new york that is if you stayed in an airport hotel.

Thank you.
For the flight from New york to Houston,i will suggest Southwest Airlines because they are one of the few local airlines that allows you to carry up to two 23kg bags (46kg) free, most of the others will charge you for load. For hotel accomodation, you can try booking.com and search for hotes close to JFK or Laguardia Airports. Hope this helps.

Hello house, Can I travel to USA with cash of $4000 and cash of #1m naira,? Dollar rate is high @ the moment ,I was lucky to get PTA of $4k.
If I tell the CBP officer that I have cash of $4k and cash of #1m will that be a problem? My POE is JFK. Urgent response pls.
Haba! Dont even make the mistake of taking 1M in cash to the US,1st of all,you will be drawing unneccesary attention to yourself, because i guarantee you,the cbp officer would count it to the last kobo before he converts it to know the exact dollar equivalent, after all that stress you wont even get a place to exchange it to dollars. Just bank the 1M in your account and get a card and inform your bank that they should open your card because you plan to use it in the Us . Moreover, you can use your debit card for almost any payment over there,so why the stress of carrying that much cash around

@kanuvivian. Please thank you for mentioning Dallas. I've been combing thru the posts for anyone who birthed in Dallas.
I've been searching for choices such as JPS, Arlington Med Centre.
Please cud u ve kind enough to avail me info such as affordable accommodation, and do either of those 2 hospitals have hidden charges. Your experience there could really come in handy.
My wife is going to Dallas by Aug 1st. Flight tickets confirmed. She's a Sept/Oct mum to be... this is our no. 3..buh 1st for delivery at the US.. adoptif we were at new York for family vocation oct-nov 2014.
Are there naija communities in Dallas so she can mingle while she's there before I join her b4 delivery.
Tnx nuch
Dallas is not a very popular sport with 9ja mums and most ppl that go there go there because they have family there.
There is a 9ja woman in Arlington that i saw her email address on this thread that provides accomodation ,feeding, transportation to shopping and hospital appointments, all for a fee. Pm me for her email if you want to go that route.

hello everyone. sorry to take you all back to something that appears to be a closed case. if you read my post on 12th February, i am the chicago lady who was sent back dues to different misunderstandings in my application.
So,so sorry that you could not get the expidited appointment. I still believe you should still show up for your april appointment if you can since you have paid for it ,even though you cant use the visa for birthing anymore i believe its an oppotunity to give your side of the storey and explain yourself, they just might give you the visa even though they know you wont use it for birthing. There was the case of a woman tha applied for visa to go for birthing and lost the pregnancy before the interview and they still gave them the visa.
In the case of your husband,he can still use the visa for vacation, since its a multiple entry visa. I was given a us visa sometime ago for a confrence, but could not attend due to some reasons, but i later used the visa for vacation some months later and no issues were raised at poe,was just asked why i couldnt make the confrence and i told them my reason, which was i took ill.

Please help answer this question in details. My cousin needs guidance on this.

What exactly do you need to take back to the embassy if the VO has held on to your passports and requested that you return with a birth plan. Is it just the travel budget sheet.

If anyone has encountered this issue, please assist
Aso include doctor and hospital correspondence also add accomodation booking if you are not staying with family and friends

In the last thread, the use of arik was discussed and most preggy mums discarded it becos of their policy. Arik does not fly any pregnant woman over 28weeks. You end up being stressed and buying another ticket. Their website information is not accepted for international flights but I think someone wrote here of using the policy to fly their plane locally while pregnant. This seems to me that the 34weeks is valid only for local flights but for international definitely 28weeks max. Hope this helps.
I guess Arik strict fit to fly policy started when a pregnant woman on their Lagos/new york flight went into labour mid air and they had to divert the flight to somewhere in Europe, And this must have cost them some serious money. So i guess once bitten twice shy.

I dont really agree that u will be sent back home at POE because of failure to write a letter of intent.
Plans do change.
Look at my own scenario, my wife has gone to US twice in with her
My brother, you guys enjoyed devine favour. First of all you guys had just $1100 cash and told CBP officer that the rest was inside card, did you go with your bank statement . I know of someone that was sent back at POE because she had only $3000 on her and claimed the rest was inside card and she dint have her bank statement with her, the cbp officer just told her that her $3000 will not cut it and that there is no way he can confirm how much she has on her card,na from there wahala burst o.
And moreover your case is even totally diffrent from her, your wife did dropbox renewal, while she appeared in person at interview and told them she was going for vacation and will show up at poe 2or 3 months latter with big belle.
Enough advice has been given, she should weigh her options and decide. I wish her all the best

Thank u so much.If we get in touch with the doctor, is there documents that i should get from him or her to solidify our chances of getting the visa? because in ur burden of proof. u stated a document from the doctor in the states. will i demand for that from the doctor or will they just send it to me? if yes, am i going to pay? My wedding certificate if from Mountain of fire. is it ok? Thanks for helping me. Chukwu gozie gi.
After getting a hospital and doctor that is willing to accept your wife,if your correspondence with both doctor and hospital is by phone, then you should request them to send you a mail in the case of the hospital with their fee breakdown, while that from the doctor should also indicate that he is willing to accept you and a breakdown of his fees, these you will then print out as part of your burden of proof
Some doctors demand for a fee for this service while others dont,it all depends on the doctor you are using.
Your wedding certificate can be from any church, the important thing is that they are authorised by law to conduct mariages.

Hi Guys,

Please I have a question that's bothering me. I am due in September but I have a visitor's visa that will expire in May. I have the visa twice since I got it. My dilemma now is do I just renew my current visa after expiry via dropbox and then notify them of my intent to give birth in the US in September afterwards. Or am I required to apply for a Medical/Tourism visa instead?

What do you guys think? I am scared of being turned back at the POE.

Please help!
You can renew via drop box since your present B1/B2 allows for medical ( i'm assuming you have a b1/b2 visa) You can then do a mail to the embassy afterwards informing them of your intentions, worse case scenario is that they might invite you for a chat as we have seen happen here with some folks and you go with your burden of proof.

My dear sista, i have been busy reading all ur post from 1 to 54. I really learnt many things. Biko help me with these questions.
1. How much was in ur husband's account and in ur own account. I have about 3.2 million in my account and 1.6 million in my wife's account. We are both working in my company(registered).
2. In her passport, she bears the same surname with me. Do we still need to provide change of name and sworn affidavit and newspaper confirmation?
Both of us are planing to go. Is it ok if i go for the interview?
3. How do i get the contact of the doc. That helped to send u the appointment letter. Thank u so much.
I think with your 3.2M and wiffys 1.6M you guys are good to go
Since her passport bears the same name with you i dont think change of name etc is neccessary, just go with your marriage certificate.
Try and go back to the old thread and read back and put together your burden of proof.
Are you guys applying as a family? If yes then both of you need to go together for the interview.
Decide on the state you want to travel to and start looking for hospital and doctor in that axis.
I hope i have been able to throw some light on your concerns.
