WHAT JOB WAS KANU DOING WHILE HE WAS IN ENGLAND BEFORE HE STARTED THE BIAFRA AGITATION?
WHAT BUSINESS DOES KANU OWN IN NIGERIA( ABIA STATE OR ANY OTHER PART OF THE EAST?)
WHAT PROPERTIES DOES HE OWN IN NIGERIA AND THE EASTERN REGION?
HOW IS KANU CURRENTLY FEEDING AND PAYING HIS BILLS?
KANU WAS ONCE ACCUSED OF DOING YAHOO YAHOO IN ENGLAND. IS THIS TRUE? IF NOT PLEASE TELL US WHAT HE WAS DOING
DOES IT MAKE ANY COMMON SENSE FOR ANY SERIOUS MINDED PERSON AND SUCCESSFUL PERSON TO FOLLOW A JOBLESS INDIVIDUAL AROUND CHANTING BIAFRA OR DEATH ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU KNOW THAT THE GUY HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LOOSE AND HAS AN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT TO ABSCOND WHEN THE TROUBLE STARTS?

TonyeBarcanista: City People Magazine Leading Celebrity, Fashion and Society Magazine in Nigeria Home News How The IKWERRE People Or RIVERS Lost PORT HARCOURT To The OKRIKA People NEWS HOW THE IKWERRE PEOPLE OR RIVERS LOST PORT HARCOURT TO THE OKRIKA PEOPLE written by Reporter July 25, 2017
Details Of The Popular Court Case The selling of Port Harcourt land to the Crown Colony –the Britons in 1913 by the Chiefs and Headsmen of Diobu people Ikwerre ethnic nationality for over 100 years ago has been hunting their great grand sons and daughters, as several court cases instituted by their progenitors in order to reverse the HARGROVE AGREEMENT OF 1913 had failed, except in 1928 when the court offered the Ikwerres a reprieve of variation of rent of 500 hundred British Pounds which was Supplemental to the 1913 HARGROVE AGREEMENT.
City People Port Harcourt Bureau Chief, EMEKA AMAEFULA here brings a Flash Back to what took place in the tussle of who owns Port Harcourt between the Okrika and Ikwerre people both of Rivers State Nigeria.
HOW BRITISH CROWN COLONY PURCHASED PORT HARCOURT LAND
The coming into Southern Nigeria by the Britons began earlier than 1912 when they made proposal on how to construct a railway terminus and that of shipping wharf where they can export Enugu Coal and other Farm produce from the hinterland of Southern Nigeria to Europe. The then Deputy Governor of the Colony and Southern Nigeria Protectorate Alexander George Boyle went into action as he gathered all the peoples of Ogbum- Nu-Abali Diobu, Okrika, Omokoroshi, Omo Eme, Omo Amasi,Oguniba and later Awafa and Bakana. Consultations and bargaining were concluded as the then District Commissioner Reginald Hargrove whose name the DEED was identified and named after supervised the signing of the popular HARGROVE AGREEMENT which sealed the Ceding and selling of Port Harcourt Land to the Crown Colony of Great Britain on 18th of May, 1913.
THE HARGROVE AGREEMENT
City People magazine hereby quote the 18th May 1913 Hargrove Agreement which 5 Diobu Chiefs and Headmen signed along with other people inhabiting the area mapped out for the development of Railway and Seaport Terminals.
“Agreement made the eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand nine Hundred and thirteen between the chiefs and Headmen set out in the Schedule to this agreement (and all others set out therein) for and on behalf of themselves and their people, and Alexander George Boyle Companion of the Most distinguished of Saint Michael and Saint George, Deputy Governor of the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria for and on behalf of His Majesty the King.
The District of Degema in the colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria is part of His Majesty’s Dominions. Certain Land is required therein for the services of the Colony and Protectorate as Follows:- All that piece or parcel of land bonded on the South by the Waterway known as this Primrose Creek or Bonny River for a distance of three and a half miles more or less, on the West for a distance of Five and a half miles more or less again by the waterway known as the Primrose Creek or Bonny River, thence in a northerly direction for a distance of One mile eight hundred yards more or less by the West bank of the Creek known as the Ilechi Creek.
Following the bends of the said Creek, to a boundary Post marked “A” at Ilechi Waterside, thence for a distance of One thousand and seventy three yards due north to a boundary post marked “B” on the north by a straight line measuring approximately five miles more or less from the Boundary Post marked “B” in a direction due East to a boundary Post marked “C” on the Creek known as the Woji Creek, on the East by the said Woji Creek for a distance approximately of one and a half miles more or less , thence by the waterway known as the Okrika Creek for a distance of six and half miles more or less to the Southern boundary referred to above ,extending in all an area of twenty five square miles more or less, and which is more or less accurately set out and described on the plan attached in this agreement and coloured pink.
And as there are many native occupiers on the land so required and as it is just expedient that all such native occupiers should be paid compensation for their right title and interest upon the land so required. We the chiefs and Headmen and others in the schedule attached to this agreement do agree that in consideration of the payment of the sum of money set out against our several names in the schedule on behalf of ourselves and our people to grant and sell unto the said Alexander George Boyle,
Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Deputy Governor of the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria, all the right title and interest to which we and our people are entitled by native Law and custom in the said land, and we agree further that should any person or persons dispute our sole right to the disposal of all interests in the said land any claims they may make shall be met and settled by us, who by the acceptance of the payments of the monies set out in the schedule attached hereto do hereby declare ourselves to be at the date of this Agreement-the sole possessors of all interests in the said land and agree to hold ourselves solely responsible for all claims which may hereafter be made in respect of it.”
THE 5 IKWERRE DIOBU CHIEFS AND HEADMEN WHO SOLD PORT HARCOURT AND SIGNED THE HARGROVE AGREEMENT
The five Ogbum-Nu-Abali Diobu Ikwerre natives who accepted the condition set pout by colonial masters in the Reginald Hargrove Agreement are Chief Wobo, Chief Ejebuwan, Chief Chuku, Chief Wokekoro, Chief Atako while Headman Ajoko Amadi, Headman Chinwa and Headman
WITNESSES TO THE HARGROVE AGREEMENT
The District Interpreter at Degema G. A Yellow signed as read below: “And I certify that the above Agreement was correctly read over and interpreted by me to chiefs Wobo, Ejebunwan, Chuku, Wokekoro, Atako, and Headman Ajoko Amadi, and Chinwa, all of Diobu, who appeared to clearly understand the same and made their marks thereto in my presence, and in the presence of Chiefs Marian Braid, Lulu wills Braid and Bagshaw Yellow, whose marks I hereby witness , and chief Willaim Davis Braid, Paul Ojudire Assistant Native Court Clerk, Omokoroshi, and Reginald Hargrove, District Commissioner”.
If you think that that was the end of the Hargrove Agreement you need to wait and see how smart the people of Okrika were by separately signing on 17th October 1913 another agreement after signing Hargrove Agreement on 18th May, 1913 this time around with Sir, Frederick Lugard, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria for and on Behalf of His Majesty The King.
“Agreement made this 17th day of October in the year of our Lord 1913, between Daniel Kallio, Stephen Ogang, Joseph Igwe, Reuben Wakama and David Koko, for and on behalf of themselves and their people, and Sir Frederick Lugard, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and saint George, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria for and on behalf of His Majesty The King.
The District of Degema in the colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria is part of His Majesty Dominions. Certain land is required therein for the services of the Colony and Protectorate as Follows:- all that triangular piece and parcel of land at Igwuocha, situated on the right bank of the Primrose Creek or Bonny River, and bounded as follows.
On the North by the Primrose Creek or Bonny River, on the East by the Primrose Creek or Bonny River on the South by Primrose Creek or Bonny River and on the West by a straight line drawn from the Mouth of the Old Saka Creek on the South to the Mouth of the Elechi Creek on the North, and containing Two Hundred and Fifty Seven acres more or less, and which is more or less accurately set out and described on the Plan attached to this Agreement and Coloured Pink.
And as there are certain occupation rights over the land so required, and as it is just and expedient that native holders of such occupation rights should be paid compensation for their right title and interest, upon the land so required, we the undersigned Chiefs and Headmen do agree that in consideration of the payment of the sum of One Hundred (British) Pounds , to grant …all right title and interest to which we and our people are entitled by the native law and custom in the said land, And we agree further that should any person or persons dispute our sole right to the disposal of all native interests in the said land any claims they may make shall be met and settled by us and by the acceptance of the sum of one Hundred Pounds, do on behalf of ourselves solely responsible for all claims which may hereafter be made in respect to it.
And do hereby on behalf of ourselves and our people acknowledge the receipt of the sum of One hundred Pounds.”
Signed, sealed and delivered by Daniel Kallio, Stephen Ogang, Joseph igwe, Reuben Wakama and David Koko in the presence of Gabriel Yellow.
Signed, sealed and delivered by the above named Sir Frederick Lugard, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria in the presence of N. Simson Priv. Sec”
Surprisingly after 15 solid years in 2nd May 1928 the people of Ogbum-nu-Abali Diobu of Ikwerre raised objection to the 1913 Hargrove Agreement saying that the 5 chiefs and Headmen who signed the documents on their behalf were not ad idem that they were illiterates as they headed to the Court but the court dismissed their case and granted them VARIATION of every 2nd May each year the sum of Five Hundred Pounds rent to be paid to then perpetually which was a Supplemental to the 1913 HARGROVE AGREEMENT. Still they went to Court of Appeal in 1932 and in 1947 lost and in 1951, 1952, and 1953 the Ikwerres lost finally at Supreme Court of Nigeria again which West African Court of Appeal sitting at Lagos which also dismissed their Appeal. By 1976 the People of Okrika went to Court requesting for inclusion for annual rent payment and in 1977 Court granted their prayer.
In 1980 the late Eze Rebisi Eze Sunday Worluchem went to Court again for Diobu Ikwerre people ownership of Port Harcourt. Everything about this silly story is deceitful and perpetrated by individuals known for their funny ways. |

Obi1kenobi: Interesting self-contradiction in the bolded. You decry the appeal to Western liberal values of tolerance and inclusiveness and eschewing hate speech. Then in another part of your long verbiage, you appeal to those some Western liberal values in opposing "tyranny".
Mind you, contrary to a lot of the claims I see, Kanu's past utterances and subversive activities would be more than enough to get him prosecuted on incitement and treason even in the liberal West. It's a miracle that the authorities have left him unscathed even as he courts more conflict and repeatedly violates his bail conditions.
I like how you compared 21st century Nigeria with 18th century America. Please, go the whole way. Take up arms against the ruling government as they did against the British. It's not just by internet chest-beating and insults. Deluded, unfortunate souls. What really gets me is despite the fact many of you agitators don't even know the name of your local government chairman in your places of origin or even residence to demand transparent, accountable and competent governance, you think your Biafran rebranding automatically solves all your problems. I guess you are watching what the so-called liberals are acting out in Wash, DC and entire USA where the liberals, the so-called media and crocked establishment were defeated in presidential election by a businessman who is a political novice called Donald Trump. They have called him all sorts of names, go to courts and reinvented Russia. By the way, the use of boycott as political weapon is not an exclusive domain of the so-called western liberals. I have no intention to compare 19th century USA with 21st century Nigeria but it sucks if the former seems to have done better than the later given the time span. The plank of taking up arms is where I beg to defer from you. Things have to be done in a more intelligent and civilized way than idiotic way as most Nigerians tend to gravitate. In the most recent times, USSR and Czechoslovakia maturely and amicably disintegrated without a shot fired in anger. I do not see any reason Nigeria's disintegration should go the route of war. You rightfully stated it is 21st century Nigeria and the world expects Nigerians to behave like 21st century humans. It is not crime for any section of the country decides to leave the unholy union foisted on Nigerians by the idiotic colonialists. |

When Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), started hitting the airwaves and heating up the Nigerian polity with the London-based Radio Biafra, a platform through which he released his hate speeches and insults, he probably thought the development earned him the mouthpiece of the Igbo race.
Moreover, when his sit-indoor-order reportedly received about 80 percent compliance within some major cities in the South-east zone of Nigeria, he might have felt that circumstances have automatically placed the leadership of the entire Igbo race on his palms. Apparently, the same way unfolding situations in the 1960s placed the leadership of Igbo land, and indeed, the defunct eastern region on the shoulders of the then young Biafran leader, Col Emeka Ojukwu. But the two scenarios are not the same. They can hardly be.
Kanu perhaps felt emboldened to speak, even about matters he ought to have maintained silence on. Towards the end of June, the IPOB leader reportedly called on Anambra people to boycott the governorship election scheduled for November 18. His reported call came even when the Igbo are yet to come out of the problem they were thrown into when Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, the then leader of Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) asked the Igbo to boycott the last census. The Igbo who obeyed Uwazuruike’s misleading and mischievous call did not realize the implication: when the census was conducted, the population of the Igbo declined. Federal resources are usually distributed based on population of an area.
However, for the first time, the leadership of Ndigbo seemed to have risen up to the occasion by not only scolding Kanu but also calling him to order. That Kanu heads IPOB and directs a pirate Radio Biafra, does not make him the Igbo spokesman.
The highest Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, hit hard on IPOB and Kanu with a warning to desist from actions capable of heating up the polity. Ohanaeze was reacting to IPOB’s call for a boycott of the forthcoming governorship poll in Anambra State.
“We don’t need this heat up…Leaders of these movements must not arrogate to themselves the supreme leadership of Igboland…Statements of the kind credited to Kanu are provocative, misleading and unproductive. Why should Anambra people be denied the opportunity to choose their own leader? Why should any of us who are not from Anambra, no matter how highly placed, descend to the arena and dictate for Anambra people when to vote, whether to vote or who to vote for?” asked the President General of Ohanaeze, Chief John Nnia Nwodo. “We must resist any attempt to turn division amongst us,” he warned.
Elder statesman and founder cum national chairman of the Justice Party, Chief Ralph Obioha, said Kanu should be guarded lest he drags the Igbo into the kind of mess they will live to regret for a very long time. “Ndigbo are struggling to come out of the mess Uwazuruike put us into when he and his MASSOB prevented a majority of Igbo from participating in the last census. And now this young man with split personality - Nnamdi Kanu who claims to be a Jew, even when the Jews have not said they are Igbo or the Igbo are Jews - has emerged to drag the Igbo man into another round of mess,” Obioha said angrily in an interview with Daily Trust on Saturday.
Obioha regretted that prominent Igbo leaders like former Vice President Alex Ekwueme and others, rather than caution the young Kanu “who abuses everybody in Igbo land and Nigeria, they are patting him on the back.”
He said: “Look at the title Nnamdi Kanu has given himself now…His Excellency, The Supreme Leader of IPOB and Biafra. He enjoys such amusing titles. Doesn’t that tell you something about the mentality of the young man? I only pity the gullible Igbo youths who follow such people sheepishly because the word Biafra is now their opium.”
Even Kanu seemed to have lost the support of the father figure and co-founder of IPOB, a former President General of Ohanaeze, Dr Dozie Ikedife, who participated in the Nigeria-Biafra civil war. Ikedife and Kanu do not agree on ideological differences or modus operandi with which to go about Biafra. The Anambra State-born medical doctor knows the implication of violence and war. He does not want to adopt any of these.
“I am not in support of any other brand of Biafra agitation that would involve physical engagements, assault or insults and preaching ethnic hatred,” said Ikedife in an interview. He quickly added: “The Biafra agitation I support is a peaceful one. A Biafra founded through a referendum or legislative process backed by law and not violence,” he restated.
But Kanu ‘who was born yesterday’ and didn’t experience the agonies of the Civil War is busy crusading for violence, blood, war. He is still basking in the euphoria of the media spotlight he has gotten so far. Perhaps, Kanu is not only a sad man but one in a hurry to get things done, even if it means doing them badly. He said in a recent interview that his attempt to restore Biafra Republic was spurred by “the sufferings Ndi-Igbo were being subjected to in Nigeria, the maltreatment and marginalization of the Igbo people.” Kanu further said: “I am extremely bitter with the maltreatment of Ndigbo. That is why it looks as if I am zealous.”
More shocking to Kanu’s firebrand and brashly arrogant style of crusading for Biafra is the rejection of secession from the southeast governors, Ohanaeze and other prominent groups and personalities in the zone.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of southeast governors, Ohanaeze, and select leaders of thought in Enugu on July 1, 2017 killed any optimism IPOB leadership probably had for receiving the approval or endorsement of the Igbo leadership in respect of Biafra’s resurrection.
Ebonyi State governor and chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, Dave Umahi, who read the communiqué, also condemned Kanu’s reckless hate speeches and disrespect for civil authorities. Umahi said: “Ndigbo are in support of a united Nigeria where peace, love, fairness, justice, equity and equality of opportunity are paramount regardless of creed, ethnicity, gender or political affiliation.”
They also declared their support for the restructuring of Nigeria on the basis of fairness and equity, while also appealing to the federal government and all Nigerian leaders to quickly set in motion the process of dialogue among Nigerians on the modalities of achieving the issue within a reasonable time frame.
But a day after the governors and Igbo leaders met, IPOB said that the Igbo leaders comprising the governors, National Assembly members, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders, spoke for themselves and their immediate families. IPOB expressed disappointment over the position and comments of the elders during the Enugu meeting, emphasising that the leaders contradicted the aspirations of the teeming Igbo people.
IPOB said in a statement issued by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, that the position of the Igbo leaders failed to reflect the will of the ordinary people in the zone, but was aimed at protecting their interests and that of their immediate families and cronies who have been the beneficiaries of the Igbo common patrimony.
Nevertheless, only time will tell if Kanu will ever get the support of the Igbo elite since virtually all the prominent people support a one united Nigeria rather than opting for a break-away Biafra Republic. This is unlike in the 1960s when the Eastern Region Consultative Assembly unanimously asked the then leader of defunct Eastern Region, Col Emeka Ojukwu, to declare the Republic of Biafra. Perhaps, Kanu is still acting alone, basking in the euphoria of gullible Igbo young men and women who, one prays, wouldn’t push him to do things that may burn the fingers of Igbo people.
https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/feature/how-nnamdi-kanu-fell-from-grace/207578.html I have concluded that freedom of press is the worst drawback of democracy. To compound the worst situation is the idiotic, ill-educated and silly press. Right to freedom does not come cheap. There are acceptable perils one or group of people had to endure in pursuant of freedom. If the idiotic federal government of Nigeria does not allocate the proper resources to Igbo nation due to boycott of census, I say so be it. The fact you agreed that federal government main objective of nation census is to determine how much hand out it has to give to states raises the stake to fight for independent Biafra where census shall be used to plan and construct the economy of the state rather than handout process. What a goon of a country. Most idiotic Nigerians will readily render the name of USA in their silly attempt to be clever during national debates. Today, the foolish Nigerians have latched onto phrases such as hate speech and other craps to tickle their moronic fancy. Yet they forgot that when USA was fighting for its independent, all manners of so-called hate speech and outright derogatory derision rained liked heavy rain. British was subject to all forms disdainful name calling and insults. At the end, arguably the world's greatest country was born. The IPOB does not conduct election in Nigeria and it absolute idiocy to remotely insinuate that Nnadi Kanu and IPOB said election will not hold in Anambra state in particular and entire Biafran entity in general. It is the right of the silly agency responsible for election in Nigeria to conduct one and it is also the right of the electorate to participate in it. IPOB has turned another page of its political arsenal, this time boycott which is an acceptable universal stance against tyranny, by simply requesting the electorate, the Biafrans, not to participate in the election. The IPOB does not want to destroy Nigeria unless Nigeria wants to destroy itself. The need for self determination is and inalienable fundamental right all human beings can exercise. Let ask the goon that wrote the silly article if Igbo land or Biafra has the type of economic gateway situated in the defunct western region and northern region of Nigeria. Today, there are Lagos and Abuja in the defunct western and northern regions respectively. What such economic gateway had the silly federal government of Niger-Area created in the defunct eastern and midwestern region respectively? For any dialogue to even remotely thought about, there must be Lagos or Abuja in the defunct eastern and Midwestern region respectively. I do not want moronic dingbat to come here lecture me on USA. The south fought with union and since the end of that civil war, the south had produced more Presidents of USA than the union. In addition, the south had the largest seaports and busiest airports when compared with the union. Can this be said about the cesspit called Nigeria since after the civil war? At this stage of things, there no need to spend to much time on reasonability because in Nigeria actions speak louder than thoughts. |
Politics › Re: Has IPOB Become A Political Party? by DerideGull(m): 3:30pm On Jul 29, 2017 |
OduduaDefender: This article news below as published by The Punch Newspaper has actually exposed what IPOB really is: a politically motivated group masquerading as a secessionist movement. Please read:
The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu , on Friday, said that the secessionist group will send the governor of Imo State , Rochas Okorocha, back to Jos in 2019 . Kanu who spoke in Owerri when he visited the state with hundreds of thousands of his supporters insisted that there would be no election in Anambra State in November and in the other four the South East States in 2019. Saying that a Sovereign State of Biafra was the only solution, he said that only referendum not power devolution to States nor restructuring will solve the problems of the country . According to Kanu “ We are in the land of Biafra . I have come to Owerri to spread the good news of the coming of Biafra Republic . I don ’ t want you people to be deceived. Restructuring does not have any meaning and I want you people to go and tell Ohanaeze Ndigbo. ” “ There is no freedom in Nigeria. All their children are abroad studying and enjoying good environment . “ Only referendum can solve the problems of Nigeria . Power devolution is not the solution. Resource control is not our problem. What we need is Biafra . They are going about deceiving our people in the name of restructuring . “ I want to say it again . There will be no election in Anambra and there will be no election in 2019 , in Igboland . And there will be no election in Imo state. “ Go and tell Rochas Okorocha that I am a child of God. I want you people to tell him that he will leave Government House in 2019 and go back to Jos where he came from . Let him get ready . “ There you have it.
http://punchng.com/ipob-will-sack-okorocha-in-2019-nnamdi-kanu/ Nnamdi Kanu seemed to be more enlightened than the so-leaders in the cesspit called Nigeria. Anyway, a cesspit of a country cannot produce and groom an enlightened leader. The nonsensical devolution of power to the state can only mentioned in a silly country such as Nigeria. It did not occur to these bastards that during the constitutional conference, power sharing should be the major topic of discussion. I am not surprised at the latest idiocy called restructure. Anybody that remotely had a stake on this crap without laying simple equity for enabling economic infrastructure such as building Lagos or Abuja in the defunct eastern region and midwestern region respectively is a basement fool. The northern region had Abuja as economic gateway, the western region had Lagos as economic gateway all built by there so-called federal republic of Nigeria. Where is the comparable economic gateway in eastern region and midwestern region? The answer to the equitable economic gateway is actualization of Republic of Igbo land or Biafra where the republics must embark on the building of their economic gateways without any hindrance piled by the ethnic sentiments hidden behind governmental policies at the center. |
Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu:i Don't Want To Lose My Friends To Biafra! by DerideGull(m): 3:05pm On Jul 29, 2017 |
Africlegend: I Don't Want To Lose Them! But, What Do They Want In Biafra?
If, as some people say, the strength to weep at the slightest hurt shows innocence, then, I am one of the most above suspicion Nigerians existing. That Obinna, the guy selling electronic Thingamajigs at the junction will cease to acknowledge the name 'Nigerian' anytime soon is disheartening. What of Chief Emeka, who owns that beautiful superstructure somewhere in Lagos, will he go too? Will that Igbo man who owns that great industry answer to biafra anytime soon? What of those nollywood superstars? Will Ramsey Nouah go?Peter Edochie, Chika Ike, Monalisa chinda, RMD, will they all go? Phyno, will you go? P-square, Flavour and Timaya will you guys also go? Oh my own heart! Who is doing this to you? But, Nnamdi Kanu, what is it that you want in Biafra?
The spirit that caused the Civil war of 1967-1970, see what you have done to Nigeria and her offsprings, a spirit that caused the mass murder of over 1million of the most Industrious tribe Nigeria has is indeed wicked. In the dark ages, before amalgamation, this same demon caused different intra-tribal strikes in the then Yoruba land, I remember Kunrunmi, Lisabi Agbongboakala, Fabunmi Oke-Imesi and many other war heroes of the old Yoruba Nation, who will forget the kiriji war?. Even, if I am not scholarly in Igbo and Hausa history, I can beat my chest that such intra-tribal wars were not unfound in those nations before amalgamation. The Aro/Ibiobio war of the 18s and the Hausa/Fulani war that led to the creation of Sokoto caliphate and kano emirate are such examples of blood baths this same spirit caused even before we tied the knot. But this blood-loving spirit, who are you? You who have sucked us dry, what is your name?
I know the spirit, it was/is oppression, it is humiliation, hunger, intimidation, lawlessness, impunity and so-on. They steal our money and leave us battered, they kill our people and leave their bodies rambling, they spend millions, if not billions, on their Children's weddings, they send us to prisons for stealing pepper and enjoy the luxury of the trillions they abducted, they leave us in the dark while they enjoy uninterrupted power, they eat and waste foods and leave us with empty bellies, so we are hungry and angry. My handsome Nnamdi kanu, Ojukwu saw these things and thought the way out was secession. Now, you can see these things and you want to toe the same path, uncle, you might be wrong. Kanu, our leaders are wicked! That is just the problem even Biafra will not solve, Igbo leaders are wicked, Yoruba leaders are wicked and Hausa leaders our wicked. You who rejected an oil bloc and some other goodies just to free your people must give a listening ear. You may bring about Biafra, but will not be the only one to govern her, so; even after securing Biafra, your people's fate will still be in the hands of corrupt and wicked Igbo leaders! You think of Political reformation? If it can happen in Biafra, it can happen in Nigeria too. Let us retire this crop of politicians, their wives and children, let us enthrone willing servants who would rather die than see things go bald. Let us make the son of a nobody somebody without knowing anybody. We as a people have the power of votes, let us make use of it to produce responsible leaders! We have them. As a matter of fact, we in Ekiti are doing just that. We are taking our future into our hands, we are getting involved in politics. We are retiring the wicked and enthroning the good, the brilliant and the willing, to hell with Political parties.Mazi, follow this better path and save me the pains of losing my Igbo friends, neighbours, colleagues, brothers, sisters, actors, singers, and lovers to some Biafra, save Igbos the stress of losing their lifetime investments to Nigeria. Mazi, please! . . Ayeni Faith Damilola is a writer, public speaker and eulogist. faithdamilolaayeni@yahoo.com You should learn to live your sorry life without the Biafrans or the would-be citizens of Republic of Igbo land. I can safely say you have managed with the not-too-good life without Ghanaians, Beninois, Togolese and Cameroonians. It is even funny there are ethnic Yari.ba people in Republic of Benin yet the dingbat such as you have never lamented to unite with them. However you have the silly impetus to kick against Ndigbo and Biafrans seceding from the cesspit called Nigeria. The best thing to happen to colonial contraption named Nigeria is unconditional disintegration. From now on, Nigeria shall never be the same and whatever the unity goons in Nigeria seemed delusional about can never be achieved. |

laudate: I feel sorry for you. What Kanu is doing has not helped the cause of your people. And if you are a good student of international politics, you would realise that insulting other ethnic groups, conducting mass demonstrations and stay-at-home exercises, has never helped any group of people carve out a new nation from an existing one. Take the right steps and get your country fast! A lot of people like us, would be very happy for you to get your proposed republic. I simply request you quit writing about IPOB or Biafra if you can humanly indulged. Pretense is the hallmark of insincerity and most Nigerians are marked for it. |

Blue3k: It's funny people cry about marginalization and claim Lagos won't allow them to have fuctionioning seaport. Look at all the curruption going on. This is the reason for bad ports. Instead of the states to watch the federal government like hawks they sit quiet. They used PPP deals to and preferential contract awards to enrich themselves. Then cases were killed on high. The fact the Swiss uncovered this before Nigeria tells you something. I remembered when the seaport at Igweocha (Port Harcourt) used to rival the port at Apapa, Lagos. However the conspirators (elites from defunct northern and western regions including the so-called minorities in the southern Nigeria) decided that Ndigbo were the problem. Since then the seaport at Igweocha has gone to the wind. |

StOla: Exactly what I told my Igbo colleagues about Nnamdi Kanu when he was released on bail and started displaying his egoistic tendencies that had been humbled while in prison.
We finally agree on an opinion.
Despite this agreement, let me not sight you as a Biafran refugee heading anywhere Nigeria, except the Nigerian corridor that leads to Cameroon.
That which you ask for, I as Nigerian President will give it to you without a single blood shed. Yet the Igbo man remains ungrateful. You have already exposed the level of your intellect with the previous post. I do not think you could be engaged in a civilized and intellectual discussion of this magnitude. In your rash response to a silly and hypothetical question, you vomited humanly unattainable heights coupled with genocidal tendencies. I am still being unable to fathom what triggers the unbelievable fear among the Yari.ba people when the issue of IPOB or the essence of actualization of Republic of Igbo land or Biafra is discussed or mentioned. If the Yari.ba people cannot handle independent nation of Oduduwa or cannot handle northern region of Nigeria when Ndigbo and Biafrans are gone from the cesspit called Nigeria, they should table it for discussion. It has become odd and foolish to see Yari.ba of loudmouthed group show sign of weariness and cowardice at instance the gig to actualize Republic of Igbo land or Biafra is remotely mentioned. I hope there will no mass suicide in Yari.ba land if Biafra or Republic of Igbo land is actualized in no distance future. |

Princesaha: There is anger, wailings, gnashing of teeth and mass suicides in our Idp camp in Ogbomosho now. Even my life is seriously threatened right now. Just that I do not have enough money to buy ratak. I borrowed a rope from a friend but we are not allowed to leave our camp and go out here. If not I would gone out to a nearby bush and end it all. The worst is that there is no ceiling fan in our Idp camp here to tie the rope, put it round my neck and then swing to Valhalla where there will be no Nnamdi kanu's heart wrenching news or Ipob wahala. Is there electricity on the IDP camp? You do not need a rope in order to end "Nnamdi kanu's heart wrenching news or Ipob wahala". |

StOla: -I will give all Easterners 1month to relocate to the current South East to have all Igbos within their own region. Reverse action will occur with all Nigerians resident in the South East.
-I will within same 1month conduct a referendum in only the Igbo speaking areas out side of the South East to decide if they want to join their kin as part of a bigger South East.
-I will then conduct a referendum inside the bigger South East ensuring secret ballot and open counting of votes.
-if the majority vote yes to independence, I will give them the next 6months to terminate their relationship with Nigeria. This will include disposing any residential property they hold inside Nigeria. Anyone who is unable to dispose of such within 6months will be paid a flat rate after total dissolution, based on the type and not based on the location.
-Any company held by Igbos whether manufacturing or a real estate development firm will be allowed to retain their company and property until a 3yr period when they will be bought off by Nigeria and Nationalised. So if they chose to sell of on their own before then, no problem.
-Since this will come suddenly, no current private property will be allowed to be registered as company property, and all such conversions done 1yr prior to my regime will be immediately nullified.
-No one single plot of Non-Igbo land will go into Biafra, and not one single plot of Igbo land will remain inside Nigeria.
-All national debts will be shared as deemed fit by a joint committee.
-No trade agreements or diplomatic presence will be allowed for the next 5yrs after the separation. After 5yrs, diplomatic agreements may be entertained.
-Ultimately, no help will be rendered and no harm/malice will be wrought.
Nigeria will simply ignore Biafra and let it thrive if it can or crash and burn if it cannot. Refugees will do well to exorcise Nigeria from their mind, but safe passage will be allowed only towards Cameroon not to any West African state.
Other finer details I will keep to my chest, this is enough for enlightened minds to ruminate on and hazard a guess as to the eventual consequences of their decision. Comb a pig and bath a pig, a pig shall remain a pig. In addition, it is said that stupidity cannot be fixed. Sometimes, stupidity is inherent. |

He must surely end in shame like Sen. McCarthy. There is nothing McCarthyism about FFK. He is almost to the center of truth but tend to be economical or hyperbolical with it at times. |

It was never in doubt that okoroawusa was never clean and associated with devilish omen. During the electioneering campaign, it was rumored that okoroawusa is a cultist. It was not a very good ending for some of the people who accused candidate okoroawusa of being a member of devilish cult. This devil incarnate must be chased down. I do not necessarily give a hoot about anything Nigeria but okoroawusa is very fascinating. |

NwaAmaikpe:

I respect Nnamdi KANU, I believe in Biafra But I am a blunt non-hypocritical realist.
Nnamdi KANU is taking this too far, After watching the Owerri video today with soldiers I was very unsettled.
It's a very thing line between bravery and insanity. He should not dare armed soldiers and policemen please!!!
He tried it in Ebonyi, He's done it again in IMO He might not be so lucky.
I commend the young soldier who restrained himself despite the taunts and abuses. Nnamdi KANU, please, please stop courting trouble. The IPOB crowd can even be infiltrated and they will disturb the peace with soldiers who will be left with no option than to defend themselves.
Long life Biafra. Why would soldiers and police block peaceful demonstrators instead of protect them? The soldiers and police should not get involved with peaceful demonstration for goodness sake. This idiotic behavior by the ill-informed law enforcement agents is behind reason the IPOB movement is gaining the support of intellectuals in Igbo land. |
