Ignorant, unexposed people, they haven't heard of food porn! Pls school these bozos!!

Rather unfortunate that you've only been to restaurants that only serve rice and chicken. Have you eaten baked alaska flambe? Or ordered chocolate piñata from Uncle Julio's?...and so on. Those were work of art. Yes, when things wow me, I pause to take pictures (to preserve the memories). I don't have to form to be seen as exposed or not broke or whatever the lingo.

Travel the world, expand your horizon. And yes, I do take pleasures in what life has to offer.

What you typed just showed how classless and uncultured you truly are.

Educate them pls, Educate them... they come here and spew crap, lowering the standard of this place.

Drefan2:
Woman, are you alright at all? When I mentioned Nigerian women I didn't imply that it's all of them that engage in small scale retail business.

The blame rests solely on you who couldn't interprete a clear message I was trying to pass across.

Again I'm guessing why you were unable to comprehend my comment is because I failed to include "some".

Probably, you didn't read my post thoroughly to the very last word before hitting the quote button cause you heart beat's rythmic contractions was raging faster.

Well, that goes a long way to exhibit how you think and a quick check on your IQ digit.

And how is Yoruba men related to the discourse that you concluded sharply on their behaviour without facts? You bigotry is irritating.

Pray tell, what's undignifying in hawking or doing menial jobs?

Would you rather prefer if their respective husbands force them into slutery?

If you don't know, true dignity is derived from capital you broke your sweat to earn and it doesn't depend on the standard of that job.

You are a perfect example of a woman who would wait comfortably for a high class job than getting your hands on something in the meantime to prevent wasting precious time.

Weep not Nigeria.

Bro, keep it up... you are on your way to fame and fortune. Obviously you have spent time and money doing research. These people who don't know the difference between legumes and grains will come here and try to pull you down. Nairaland is not the right place for constructive criticism anymore. You need to get in touch with a PR & branding expert to grow your brand. Keep innovating and improving!

It will not be easy but you have to persevere.

So I decided to look up online again to be sure before I answer you.

Maybe you didn`t look at the pix where it is written "whole-grain cereal flour".

Look at the attached pix and check if you really made sense.
PropertiesRe: VERY IMPORTANT: Mistakes Architects Make And Should Be Avoided by DerMeister: 9:37am On Apr 16, 2016
You are either naive or you don't know what country you are in. First of all, building codes forbid you from building very close to your fence. there is also a minimum distance between the center of the road and any structure (actual distance depending on the type of road in question). So even if you bribe your way to approval, when the govt decides to do any development, you will lose. If you decide to go to court, good luck with that, while you are waiting years for the court, the govt will go ahead...

wilcox:
You should have enough space between d road and fence. Just in case your governor decides to expand the road in future.
I quite disagree with you on this, and I will give you my reasons. If my building plan is approved by the ministry of urban development and I follow the plan, if any government decide to expand or carry out any construction on the road that will affect my building then appropriate compensation should be paid. It's only in Nigeria that you see individual developers going to develop an area without the master plan of that area. The best practice is for the government to map out all available infrastructure. E.g access road, drainage, walk way, electric line etc.

AgricultureRe: Why We Are Importing Grass By Minister Of Agriculture by DerMeister: 12:09pm On Mar 25, 2016
If we had at least 50% of the nigerian population like you, nigeria would be a much better place! Keep up the good work. Don't mind these braying oxen!!

obailala:
One of the greatest impediments to the progress of the black man and the black race is our inability to read, our inability to discern and our inordinate urge to 'respond' even before we listen.

The article simply exposes the ignorance of all those castigating the plan to import high nutrient grass seedlings for cultivation in Nigeria. This firstly, is standard practice in agriculture all over the world, but common sense is obviously not too common especially when political sentiments are involved. I can swear on my life that 95% of the respondents above did not read beyond the 3rd line, but mostly read the title and proceeded to comment. Maybe if they read the article, they would have firstly realised it was written by an independent veterinarian and not the minister (as the title implies) and they would have also seen some sensible points.

If it takes decades of research to genetically create a new specie of high nutrient grass which has the capacity to boost beef and milk production beyond our imagination, then my common sense tells me it is definitely silly trying to re-invent the wheel; the sensible thing to do is to take the short-cut by simply obtaining those already optimised grass seedlings and growing them here in Nigeria. Just the same way we imported improved flood resistant rice seedlings some years back which has in no little way contributed to the rice revolution in different parts of Nigeria today. For clarity for those who are oblivious of this, "grass is not grass" and there is a reason why people spend several years studying agriculture in the university and research institutes even when our great grand fathers knew exactly how to sow and reap basic food crops.

A point of note in the article is milk production, Nigeria imports over 90% of the milk it consumes spending over $200m annually on this. A typical Nigerian milk cow produces 200kg of milk annually whereas a typical European milk cow produces up to 6500kg of milk annually, i.e. over 3000% more milk production. The main difference is the nutritional content of the feedstock these cows consume. Ironically, the same people who protest the plan to import improved grass seedlings (for planting) to improve our beef and milk production do not protest the billions we spend importing milk yearly; these same people (probably because of warped political logic) did not also see anything wrong when improved rice seedlings were imported few years back to help boost Nigeria's rice production capacity.

What I find most disheartening about these comments I have quoted is that most of the respondents here are youths, educated youths; and then we begin to wonder why the old have refused to relinquish power. They may claim not to be agriculturists, but that is definitely no excuse for this ignorance because anyone with even partial education should be able to discern these things. If only we can sometimes purge our minds of flimsy political sentiments, then some of these things are just common sense.

Thank you for this wonderful post. This is the best post I have seen in a long time. Logical, reasonable and well thought out, Honestly if 50% of Nigerians were like you, Nigeria would be a great country. Keep up the good work, keep schooling the animals who come here to bleat, grunt, squawk and babble without using their brains.

lastpage:
I am forced to quote just one of the many responses, blaming and insulting the woman involved in this fracas ........ and it makes me wonder whether the QUALITY of intelligence of the average Nigerian has sunk so low that all of these responses above mine, fail to comprehend what really transpired?

Read the part l quoted above, from the original story and let us reason on it together:

1.) The women was on her side of the road - So, by LAW, she was therefore not obstructing traffic.

2.) She was asked to REVERSE... and she COMPLIED by Reversing
- Shows she is a reasonable and responsible person

3.) After five Cars passed , she also felt the need to continue her own journey - This also is perfectly "legal" and within her rights.

4.) She moved on but the same people coming from the other side, manoeuvred into her lane AND REFUSED TO STOP FOR HER TO GO! - This is definitely the cause of the ensuing traffic jam (Dont forget, this woman has reversed once and allowed them to use her lane... but they wont do the same for her!)

5.) Officer came, without knowing the genesis of the problem (nor having the intelligence to ASK WHAT HAPPENED!), asked her to REVERSE, A SECOND TIME! She refused! -

Now, we should ask whether this woman has a right to also go wherever she was going or whether the other people using her lane are the only ones "in a hurry" and cant wait for her to pass, when she had waited for them to pass, despite being on her own side of the road!!

Any sensible person who had driven on Nigerian road knows that "Most" Nigerians generally lack courtesy!
If someone extends a courtesy to you (by waiting for you to use her lane, while she waits), courtesy demands that after a few cars have passed, you also WAIT and allow the person who extended that courtesy to you, TO ALSO PASS!

But in the "typical Nigerian fashion", they dont give a hoot!

I am sure this woman too was in a hurry to go somewhere BUT SHE STILL WAITED FOR SOME CARS TO PASS!
Why cant they also wait for her to also pass?

That Major is a disgrace to himself and the military!

When the woman moved and she was blocked by oncoming vehicles, should an intelligent military officer not have approached her POLITELY and ask her WHY she thinks she should not WAIT?
If he does that, l am sure the woman would have told him that she has been waiting but they would not stop to allow her to also pass.
In typical "Zombie-fashion", he proceeded to TEAR GAS HER!

QUESTION: Will this military officer WAIT for people to pass? If he will wait, will he reverse a second time, after allowing some to pass and they wont stop for him? I bet you he wont.

I have waited (out of courtesy to other road users, at a narrow road) and l counted FORTY VEHICLES pass while l was "flashing them", to allow me to pass so l can also go my way but they refused! Infact, everyone behind me started abusing me for not "putting my head" and blocking them-off!
Eventually, l did put my vehicle (knowing what would happen next) while flashing the oncoming vehicle to stop.
He never did and came to confront me with his vehicle. (That is exactly what happened in this case also!)
Funnily, when everywhere became blocked and l asked the driver of the vehicle confronting me why he did not WAIT, when l have been waiting in the last ten minutes, he said "Why cant you wait too"?
I was shocked!

This is why l said "Most Nigerians lacked courtesy".

I dont want to give this woman any CREDIT because "she is FEMALE". That is an insult to women who are worth their salt.
But that officer, instead of behaving like a trained, educated, gentleman, he behaved like an animal that most military men are (apologies to the extremely descent ones amongst them).

Why Tear-gas the woman?
Why call two additional military recruits to beat her up?
IF she refused to reverse based on the fact that she has done so once/earlier, what does it cost the Major to ask the people on the other side to also reverse so she can go and everyone can go?
Why would someone "make way" for you on their side of the road and you think its okay to make the person wait endlessly.... withiut extending the courtesy to her as well?

Those of you insulting and criticizing the woman need to understand what happened and ask yourself honestly: Wont l do same thing?
I for one, will do exactly what she did...... and that Major will bite more than he can chew because "It is because of the 'mad man outside', that we keep even "more mad" person within/inside the compound" (An adage/proverb)

I hope the woman knows how to go about it, that Major may be demoted after a court-marshal.
He has gone beyond his remit....... even with his own wife by his side! angry angry

I think they should tell us more about the type of helicopter.
