27Pushing30:A simple one. Let's test your understanding. VEC rapped if he was the only one see¡ng that sh¡t is backwards. What did he mean? ![]() Scale this successfully and we have enough time to pit lyrics by lyrics in VEC's 2-minute stint in The Purge against M.I's 5-minute stint in Tha Viper. |
spirul77:Just read the OP's piece and get everything I've been trying to tell you in the other thread o, bros. Except you are insinuating the OP is wrong. Tell him directly. This reply was weak Q.E.D. As for this your claim of being a VEC fan, please, stop playing yourself because nobody is buying that. A person who is peddling rumour simply because M.I. said so is no fan of VEC's. A fan knows even when no one has says so. You don't have that privilege. You're more of an M.I. fanatic. spirul77:Downplaying VEC's lyricist on the roll award which actually rates bars and he's won this more than M.I. Sings in 70% in his album yet...I hear this as an anthem amongst M.I. fans. Except your Maths isn't good, you can't even defend a quarter of this value. Who made him Number 1? M.I. himself ably crowned by Flavour who knows jackshit about rap. Who claimed VEC is Not among Top 5 Yoruba? M.I. and M.I alone. Not any notable 'unbiased' music entity but M.I. Yet you're peddling it about like it's cast by Julius Berger. Calling a 'fellow VEC fan' bitter heart. That shows how much you hate VEC. Oga, just quit. You ain't no VEC fan. Just an M.I. fanatic. Be proud of the title. |
viqSmallz:Oil dey your head. It's just a story. Lemme search for one of my comments in a group on the day the rap was released. MODIFIED: Found it.

LegendHero:Very grateful. Thanks. Sorry for the wrong assumptions. |
1GB RAM is installed for use. A lot of system applications are loaded unto it when you boot your phone, making it easy to access them. Instead of doubting the RAM size needlessly, check out the running applications in your phone and how much they are consuming. Aside the phone's OS, You have additional apps like Dialler, Contacts (may include Truecaller), Messages, Settings, Security apps, User Interface, Live Wallpaper, Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, and other social apps, Browser, Screen Lock, Clock, Weather and Calender widgets even some suspended games running and you expect it not to impact on free RAM available? |
Lanre news let us be o Lazy Nigerian Youths. Ordinary google search, they cannot do. World Igbo Youths did not make any national media but ended up at Lanre News, from there to Nairaland frontpage ![]()

Westbestside:Lol. You're mistaking you for me. I go extra miles not to be deceived. Can you say the same for yourself? Running riot here already? Meanwhile, you may wanna be sure of your premiss. I've asked the OP to give me a link but so far no response. I've scanned New York archives in the said date but couldn't see this news. See for yourself. Would appreciate it if you take your time out to work on this seemingly deceptive post and unravel the facts ![]()

Westbestside:The Igbos do not observe what other tribes know as 'master' and this is well documented in history. Other tribes evidently have their 'masters' or 'leaders' if you choose to call them that. So this pathetic jib won't sell. |
MODIFIED: Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact page where this was found and as it is my practice, I will refrain from quoting this 'snapshot' as a viable source until OP provides a NY Times archives link to this information. @OP.. Please, share the NY Times archives link. I've checked but couldn't find it.

Ayomideen:Nah bro. He was insinuating it's an insult for M.I to diss VEC and I gave him a subtle reminder that if it's about the self-imposed Lord of Nigerian rappers status, Eminem, a rap god, dissed MGK as a reply incase he forgot. Eminem won that round as a streetlord. But this pathetic attempt by M.I. to hide behind fatherly figure to dodge a mic battle will only sell for his dumb fans. Even he knows VEC prowess. Too sad the battle ended before it began. |
Neurotika:You mean like Eminem proved to MGK? It's alright. Of course it's an insult only in Nigeria with this senior-brother-money-wins-all mentality. Let the euphoria die down first, then we shall explore the rap potential of the diss songs. |
Rebelutionary:At no point was Eminem advicing MGK like a son. Eminem took him on. This is a petty excuse to shy out of a mic battle. Too sad he begun it with a defence that he wasn't gonna diss. After so many disses already. Was that the plan for the fans VEC insulted? Someone will say M.I. was being mature. In rap game? Na wa. |
Charmingrascal:Started the shii with a bible verse, that's when I knew this baba was gonna drop rubbish talk. Still getting high on the Chairman title. And he already knows that shii is backwards. |
TroubleMaker47:You're telling me aftet how many of my comments on it? |
YungJo207:I already did. And this is supposed to be for the fans. Well, it's not like we expect him to survive a lyrical duel with Vector. |
So las las we're back to where we started. M.I. claimed this is not a diss. That's coming after many other disses. No yawa. We accept it as a mature advice. Later we will dissect the concept word by word. Now the realest question. Lyrically, The Purge and this The Viper.. Which is lyrically dominant? |
anonymousghost2:When I drop my views, you can be very certain that it's because I've listened to it. Something you really can't say.
|
Just how my class students decided to hit me up with a surprise gift as their form teacher. Got lots of well wishes and gifts from other too. Had to beg someone to help me convey the numerous gifts I got from every students to my house. I appreciate their efforts to renew our passion for the job. I'm refreshed!! ![]()

This shows? Was that ever in contention? It's obvious mushroom is not a green plant so why would it need sunshine to grow in the first place? BTW it's called a Saprophyte |
Ekpeitit:To be very frank, the Igbos have nothing that Akwa Ibom will gain from. Let the igbos keep their Biafra dreams to themselves and leave Akwa Ibom out of it. Biafra is an Igbo idea of secession from Nigeria. Dragging the reluctant Akwa Ibom along will only delay their plans. It's best that Akwa Ibom is left to remain part of Nigeria. They are very comfortable with the current arrangement as they are already fully in control on how their oil is managed and utilized in developing their lands. After all, what Igbos have is just a dream for their future in the face of the current clime. Something Akwa Ibom does not have and does not need. ![]() |
goodnewscliff:R.I.P. Then. ![]() |
goodnewscliff:Shh... You dey struggle to understand M.I. e come remain Vector. |
Sarmiz24:Like I told him, everyday you listen to VEC's vibes, new things to see and learn. |
anonymousghost2:We're talking songs..you're talking album. It is well ![]() McGoldrick ![]() |
anonymousghost2:We know the kinds that populate Twitter. Youtube and even Nairaland. But this one is not about them. It's about me and you. You are not on twitter. I am not on twitter. We are here on Nairaland. It is here that you called VEC's lines on The Purge rubbish. Give me any straight four liner in the track you called rubbish with mediocre lines and the reason you think it's rubbish right here, right now (that's if you've actually listened to the song). Stop referring me to twitter. |
kevoh:Leemao. ![]() I'm waiting to see two songs of theirs that one can confidently say thia is what they have in common. |
spirul77:I put it to you that you didn't understand any of the Vector's lines from The Purge as evidenced by your weak attempt at explaining one if the four. I've explained all four with references and no matter your feeble attempts, you'll have to admit that Jesse Jagz used the pear metaphor first before M.I. Please, explain the in-depth meaning in those four lines you dropped beyond what I already said. Thanks. You said I lied that Jagz never used it before M.I.? Below is a screenshot of the Greatest lyrics. Incase you're thinking I made that up, go to waptrick.one the song is there and you'ld hear him say it yourself. As for the year of release. Even at 2010, Jesse Jagz had won nominations and radioplay for works years earlier. Note that those works were released same time with Greatest...that was years before this '1.2.3' As for your claim that Jesse Jagz was only known in the North before 2009, Jesse Jagz was nominated for the International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008. That is a London-based award. Permit me to use a Eminem line here 'Know your facts before you come at me'
|
YungJo207:For now, the reality is that anyone who accepts battling VEC is likely to be murdered. They realise it even if their fans don't. VEC don't need months to shine his blade at all. |
TroubleMaker47:Actually that avocado tree line was used byJesse Jagz in The Greatest [2006] when he was still in Choc City People like us who like and remember great metaphors can't forget. As for lyrically..Let M.I. drop his reply. |
So you see? You don't understand it, that's why you're missing the whole point. Calling it nursery rhymes because you don't see beyond the surface. You just think he's hunting rhymes and that's where you got it all wrong. VEC never hunt rhymes. He hunts sense. |
For the other three lines I gave you from The Purge. See the ideas. "..am I the only one seeing that shit is backwards.." M.I. in his usual gloating (which is okay in rap music) called himself Lebron King James, the best b-baller. He called himself the greatest rapper alive, The King. Ironically, two months later, M.I. dropped an album in which he called himself The Chairman. VEC is asking you if he's the only one seeing this backwards "M.I. taking himself from being a King to becoming a Chairman" ![]() "...their Chairman panicking pushing buttons like a rookie playing video game..." We all know how a rookie fumble with game pads. It's a reference to how M.I. is picking his fights, testing everyone like he doesn't know what the rap game is all about. He thinks he's having fun until when they come after him (like VEC is).. It's funny you think this is a tweet sha. ![]() "...I don't care if you respect me, just don't play yourself..." Is an obvious reference to M.I. belittling other players in the industry. M.I. dropped his diss, and VEC trended, simply shows the industry thinks they are at least equals or they expect VEC to put him in his place. And that when VEC prepared to do battle, M.I. wanted to pally up and began dropping subtle lines on how he is bringing rap culture alive but VEC is having none of that. He doesn't want respect because he isn't giving it. |
Looooool. spirul77:Jesse Jagz used the avocado pear metaphor in The Greatest which he released in 2006 if I am accurate. You're quoting it being used by M.I. last year in 123. I'm just saying I've heard that years before. I gave you just four lines from only one track which I believed you have listened to but you couldn't decode. Even the last line you called a play on his height was the surface meaning which you all see. M.I. asked for him to drop a joint and Vector's reply was (what's the point? if I cut my legs off you won't still reach the point where my head is) The joint is at the knee and VEC is like even if he cuts off his leg, M.I. won't reach the point where his head is. For an average listener, he'll only see a short height diss. For an in-depth listener, he'll see VEC is also talking about the inspiration behind his lines. His head (wisdom) is high up in the clouds and he's insinuating M.I. will never get there or be as good even if he (VEC) drops a notch lower. Now you see? You are not qualified to rate VEC. |
