achi4u: Contrary to what we know as "south betraying south",can same thing be said about north?Naivity, and if south vote south and North vote North, who do you think will win in a general election? Besides, I think the southerners are very confused, they all does not want any southerner to vote for a Northerner, still they crucified Buhari that he said "Muslim vote Muslim, Christian vote Christian" of which I do not know how truthful the statement is. |
owobokiri: Very very dearly.... Very instructive too that in less that an hour of solid bravery, Nzeogwu was able to put an end to the expanding ruthlessness that was~is fulani politics in Nigeria... It took another 30 months of attrition spearheaded by the same bunch of clueless southerners to put the far north back on top,..we have been messed up ever sinceImagine how people reason, so if only the Southerners is continually leading this country then the Northerners would have become saints, 'Aboki, Mallam, hopeless people who doesn't know anything' right? At Independence, was oil as booming as it is now? Was the Northern man the Premier of the Southern or Eastern Religion? Was a Northerner the Governor General or the Leader of the Parliament? So where did they Marginalise the south so much within 6years of independence to warrant such cold blooded coup? Why didn't the coupists kill their southern brothers as they did the Northerners weren't they all in same Govt? I even wish they will divide this country let me see how the south especially SE will turn Dubai overnight with all their dull brains and myopic thinking. |
kettykin: Some betraying southerners helped the north to dominate and marginalise the South, the same southerners are working tirelessly day and night to bring back the same order where the north will be the predator notable among them are Tinubu and Obasanjo, previously it was awolowo who rather than back ogundipe to become the head of state chose the in existent post of vice president to a military head of state, Abiola did the same thing by choosing to sponsor 1983 coup that truncated a democratically elected government and also sponsored coup against the only true and level headed yoruba leader earnest shonekan.Point of correction, Abiola never sponsored the coup against Shonekan, even those who installed Shonekan knew that he will never survive the heat to even plan for the Transition program, you should talking people David Mark and co. That's btw, so you guys know that if power eventually go back to North that you'll be playing the role of a 6th citizen, so why start a fight you cannot finish? My candid advice is that they break up or else as usual, the 'Marginalisation' crying dogs will harder, louder and longer this time. |
nwabobo: In that case, don't you think it's time to break up the country so that each zone can do whatever they like? And you think if this country breaks up today, there won't be other mushroom zones inside the new Nations? "Without equal rights and Justice, there will be no peace" so Nigeria's problem is simply that of social injustice, Nepotism and lack of Patriotism and not that of tribe, Religion or Region/Zones. |
Fadenitan: D APC are too desperate for power, using all means to deceive d G7 to join their party.Tinubu wants to plays on them and see hw wise they are.The bukola i know will not leave a winning party at federal & join opposition party, remember in 2002,he left ANPP to join PDP,his father taught him this.Bukola i know is a force & Leader in kwara politics and strong pillers for PDP & he has always be in driving seat of d party in kwara state will now leave to join a party that will make him ordinary and now be taking order from tinubu,God forbear. This G7 are just trying to test their power. There are many things attach to politics & power play. But i pity AHMED alot.Wash! And who said Bukola is not in the nPDP, that means so many of you are not current. Any Governor who accepts to play loyalty to his godfather does that at his own peril, we've witnessed it several times and the worst case is that both the Governor and his godfather will loose out like it happened in Anambra state btw Ngige and Chris Ubah, in Abia state, T.A Orji discarded Orji Kalu immediately he stabilised, in Lagos state, have we forgotten the fight btw Tinubu and Fashola that Tinubu had to calm down and reach for a compromise? What about GEJ and OBJ now? The point is that we find pleasure in deceiving, misleading and misinforming the public in the name of Politics of Nepotism and sycophancy. |
Akiika: But, y'all should open your eyes to see while still crying. So, if all these PDP governors accept to join APC and they win again....WHAT REALLY CHANGED? except party!!! why can't APC build a formidable base in all of these states and attempt to dislodge PDP machineries, through good policies and programs. Naija no fit correct for a long time.Talk is cheap, imagine that I am from your state now, say Kwara state, and Saraki presents the Deputy Governor, COS, Commissioner or a member of the executive, and they are campaigning with state funds and APC presents me as their candidate with meagre funds, how many people from your state will want to work with me or make sure that I win? Won't they go to where they are seeing the money and the power? For me, I believe the only way forward is good policies by the Party of which I think the APC will bring to bare anywhere they win, it'll be a "YOU MUST WORK Syndrome". |
Amaechi said: “Former head of state, I don’t see you as a former head of state alone, I see you as a father, it will be difficult to refuse you what you asked for, but I’m a Catholic. If you see any Catholic priest ask him; the church does not preach peace, the church preaches social justice. “If social justice is put in place, what happens? Peace will come. So there’s no disagreement between the president and I. I respect him as my president, I respect the fact that he’s an intellectual, I respect the fact that God has blessed him to get to that throne, nobody can get to that throne without the blessing of God and disrespect to that office is disrespect to God. I was told that by my priests and my bishops. “But I was also told that you cannot watch oppression because if you watch oppression you will die and the prayer I had this morning was Lord, what would it benefit you if I die, who would praise you? I will no longer be able to praise you if I die, so keep me alive to be able to praise you. That was my prayer to God today. “So I submit completely to the president, completely, but on behalf of these Rivers people I also ask for social justice. I believe that the president means well, I believe that the country has so many problems that he has to bear, like he said as the leader, a lot of people will abuse you and all that, but you must continue. “I support him in accepting that, I support him to continue to govern the country and I assure you sir, peace will come.” Wise Man Amaechi, unfortunately, the world celebrates sycophants, hypocrites, mediocres, Nepotism etc. Any attempt to sue for justice and fair play is seen as an affront. Still the world complain about wickedness and evil and yet can not support justice. Like Peter Tosh sang " How can we talk about peace without equal rights and justice" and the legend Bob Marley. Sang " Get up, stand up, stand up for your right, don't give up the fight". Keep moving sir Time they say heal all wounds. |

yoji: The southerners ushered in the military era with d nzeogu coup and couldn't keep pace with how d northerners manipulated d military to take over power. You are very correct, I think the records should be made clear, not "cut and join". Even though then was the military era which has come and gone, now we are in a Democracy and the same region who manipulated the 1966 Nzeogu coup, has started again, twisting Regional zoning arrangement just because Power accidentally got to them. Now if this country is not divided, and the North holds power again and decides to be manipulating it as this zone is doing now, I hope no heavens will fall and no one will claim marginalisation? |
"The last to visit was the Ochendo Solidarity Movement from Abia State." "The Chairman, Council of Elders of the GSG, Sen. Ibrahim Mantu," hahahahahahahahahaha, now I can see the kind of groups that make up the 1665 asking Mr President to run again in 2015. See the face and condition of Abia state and Mantu, then you can as well decide for yourself the significance of these groups being associated with the calling of Mr President to run for a second tenure. |
When will Nigerians start becoming wise and at least literate? Who said the alliance parties in APC are not members, if they are not, why then did the party reserve seats/posts/offices for them? Why will people always take pleasure in misleading and misinforming the public? For your information, APC has not commenced registration of members except in Anambra state because of their forthcoming election, aside that, even the Party interim excos have not being registered yet. Who is the APC in Imo state if Rochas is not a member? These PDP sponsored hungry politicians who want Rochas to leave the party structure with them so that they can be doing what Peter Obi is doing with his APGA in Anambra state, 12% APGA and 88% PDP. No way for them if they are angry they should pull out and stop ranting in the media because APC is on ground in Imo State and not for sale, and Rochas is the Leader. N:B: same thing is going on in Abia state as well. |
kreami diva: the holy book says: a wise man leaves an inheritance for his children's children....So the Naija crew is fulfilling this part by milking our treasury dry just to keep for their dull head children and grand children right? |
spacebus: they should face the elections and stop looking for ways to discredit the elections.Ambassador Nwuruku is an upright man. Here yourself, 'Ambassador Nwuruku is an upright man' under which Govt was he given the appointment of an Ambassador, or is his a honorary one? Please INEC shouldn't compromise this election in any way before somebody will say that blood will spill now and so many unscrupulous elements who only thrive in irregularities and fraud twist and misquote the person as if the person is calling for war or out to cause mischief |
Dpeacemaker101: Amaechi is a dreamer, maybe they are still people out there ready to shed their blood for him. Well, I congratulate them in advance but before you do that ask yourself one question "where are Ameachi children and family member?"They are in PHC for your information, that's how you guys go around spreading false rumours and lies causing so much disaffection among unsuspecting citizens. If I open a Religious thread now and say that "Christianity is evil", you'll be the first to attack me but I can bet you that most of the lies and rumours that causes plenty of heat being spread in Nigeria are spread by Christians why? What's the lies and misquotations for, what do you stand to gain at the end of the day? N:B: Please I am not in anyway scorning my Christian brethren, just used the phrase to buttress my point, no harm intended and I don't mean to get on anyone's nerve thank you so much for understanding. |
I think this quote of Amaechi is incomplete, the OP didn't deem it fit to complete it, because he/she was too busy looking for cheap lope hole to discredit the young man. Amaechi said " there is no revolution without blood, the only revolution without blood is through reforms". There was no time he urged the people to fight or spill their blood, besides, he's already spilling his by all the persecution and curse he's getting, he only asked the people to stand up for their right because only then will our leaders become responsible and realise that power indeed belongs to the people, not money, official power or in some individuals. |
it is said that "If a hundred Lions are lead by a sheep, all the lions will become sheep, and if a hundred sheep is lead by a lion, automatically all the sheep will become Lions". Just pray the those criminals join the APC and see how they will be magically transformed into core Progressives. When the head is bad, what can the tail do? No doubt APC has its own fair share of blames but still their style and ideologies cannot be compared to that of the PDP. Look at what Awolowo was able to achieve in the west in the 60s and 70s, non has being able to replicate such rapid development in any part/zone of Nigeria till date, while we are busy criticising the APC, the SW is busy trying to transform their entire zone into one large mega city... That's the mind and attitude of Progressives. I share your sentiments @ OP, but I bet to differ. APC is the best thing that's happened to Nigeria lately, we've tried the PDP, let's give the APC the benefit of doubt before we can crucify them. Monopoly of any form is pure Evil, Competitiveness remains the best form of any economy. |
Na today una no say confidence or security no dey for ordinary citizens? |
Is it that you are feeling for your Landlord's wife or you are jealous of your friend? truth be told, maybe you can't do what she is doing and its really eating you up that she is doing something you cannot do Anyway, just live your own life and allow others do theirs the way it suits them, better still relocate, because I know you can't convince your friend to stop, even if she contemplates doing so, the guy won't agree unless she packs out of the compound. Telling his wife will be too grievous a risk to take because after all, you'll be the enemy. 90% of our women will never leave their marital home for you just because they caught their husband with another woman on their own matrimonial bed how much more. Most of them have already had it at the back of their mind that man is most like bound to cheat. |
I thought this woman is Igbo, where were her Governors when the passionately hated and Dreaded yoruba(Fashola) took up her case and made sure that she lives again?" Igbos! Igbos! Igbos! Make una mouth no kill una o". Btw, when will we have this kinda facilities in Nigeria where we won't dying or rushing abroad for simple curable ailments? No wonder my brothers/sisters rush to the church to embrace God and blame satan( their enemy) for everything, praying fire and holy ghost burn and kill our enemies even when its a simple cough because if was comes to worse, no medical facility here to get good treatment and no money to travel abroad so we better run to the cheapest hospital which we can not see but believe, our church, our pastor and God. And that's why the whites are not as religious as we are because they do for themselves what need to be done instead of praying, fasting, casting and binding and waiting for the Lord to answer prayers. God save Nigeria |
demelza: Ki le leyi nso?God pikin! |
In Rivers State, almost all the politicians working against Amaechi are all out of positions since Amaechi became the Governor until recently when GEJ is giving them little leverage to pamper their ego to go fight against Amaechi. I beg anyone/anybody to differ on this or challenge me constructively, There is nobody in that camp fighting against Amaechi that has a credible record. When you see them or hear them talk, you just identify toutism, corruption, thuggery, greed, sycophancy etc. Let's just wait and I pray APC(Ngige) wins the Anambra state guber election, then the Politics of 2015 will become more fierce and clearer. Anambra state election will definitely be a serious game changer for 2015. |
Well, its becoming more clear what the day will look like, Ohakim did same thing in Imo state and lost to Rochas, Omehia also in River state and handed over to Amaechi. Last minute rush of syphoning state funds and scoring cheap political points. My people say " If your salary is not enough for you, surely, your overtime will never be." If all the almost 8yrs of the time you've governed Anambra state is not enough for you to impact positively on the state and convince the electorates, surely this last minute rush of yours will never do that. And lest I forget, please sir, don't put Anambra state into tragic debt or make unnecessary Promises/eye service just to make things difficult and put the next Administration in a tight corner because we've seen these things a lot in this Nation.. |
kingbang: No bro, its APGA,APC,LP and then PDP. If APGA loses this election, i will never comment on Nairaland again! Quote me!! We on ground are not even bothered because we know that this election has already been won by APGA. APC can continue winning online and in Nairaland.Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but did you open your Nairaland account just for Anambra state election and to campaign for APGA? |
slimghost: I hope this puts a stop to all the lies going around. Let us respect the dead and not try to score cheap political points with such a tragedy! It's disgusting! So this effort is just a mere damage control mechanism employed to shield your pay master Mr Peter Obi? But not to worry my dear the has already turned to a spilled milk. |
karl max: The same corrupt PDP governors both present and past that buhari and his partner tinubu would have nigerians believe are the same people they are wooing. Are these past crooks that have ruled their various states for 8 years with nothing to show for, the same people that are coming to save nigeria? This people think nigerians are fools...Yes they are the same people but different parties with different ideologies, discipline and method. Ask PDP members in the APC it is the same thing and they will tell you a Capital NO. I know you might say all these guys have ruled before with nothing to show, but that's because they are a direct replica of the mindset and the party that brought them in. |
Royal Roy: You smoke weed so early in the morning?Don't mind that f*cktard, his brain is seriously shaking. Igbo this Aboki that, I am sure if this thing happens in the south East with all their Governors intact except Rochas, that DPO would have arrested them. |
Does Rivers state now belong to the PDP? When has it suddenly become a crime for Political Leaders of the opposition Parties to visit states in Nigeria? What constitutional rights does a Political party or its leadership have to determine people who should or shouldn't visit a state or even dictate for a state Governor who to receive and who not to? Governor Amaechi doled out N500m to mobilise for reception of APC leaders, even if this story is true, is it bigger than what they've being using in the PDP to organise a common birthday, how much more burial not to even talk of reception, ok now it has suddenly become a crime huh? But when its in your pockets and when it is the PDP, its normal. How much did Wike dole out to organise GEJ's Mother in-laws burial? Anyways, I am not encouraging corruption neither am I saying that two wrongs are equal to a right, rather all I am is that some people should be made to face realities when they tend to trample on other people's right just because it's not in their favour. These men are touts on rampage, and anybody who knows Rivers state very well knows the characters of both Wike and Obuah and if truth be told, Amaechi is a saint in whatever way compared to this duo as they don't even have comparism with Amaechi in any form. |
LWTMB, this is a very comprehensive list of team Fresh Air that if they are able to Rig in 2015. Chai! Naija don die finish, em go just fold the remnants of Naija pack am inside one corner for Aso Rock carry their fleet of Presidential Jets waka enter oyibo land... Me I don dey go my state make I go see whether e get anything wey T.A Orji don remain for there. |
So Obi just woke up to his visions now that his time is almost up? He's got all these pretty visions all these while and he didn't care to implement them or is he trying to pile up pressure for the incoming Governor? All na Naija politics anyway. |
The difference btw US and Naija is that, in US people own up to their actions and probably with reasons why whether good, morally right or wrong while in Naija, People will lie and lie, blame the devil and even book for deliverance. Such a weird world, we hear all sorts of news everyday. Anyway, as long as we live here on this planet, weird news will always be on the air, "Nothing new on the face of the earth". |
