Eweka means my leaf (trado medicine) conquers it. And if its Owomika, it means my hand conquers it.
This is Oranmiyan's expression for naming is child Eweka.
It is Yoruba word.
You should tell me Benin's gave Yorubas their language too.
Only one thing is debatable, the migration of Oduduwa to Ife.
Even if he was Ekaladiran, the fact remains that his last son Oranmiyan was the 1st Oba of Benin.

On the issue of the use of Oba, common sense ll let Benin historians know that the word was not mainly used in Yorubaland because every town has its title for a ruler.
But a common name for King is Oba.
So...Benin's should not claim it as if its their language.
Owomika or Eweka is a Yoruba name. This alone should mellow arguements about his origin.
As it appears, the Yorubas & Benins have similarities but its as if its Benin that copied yourubas the most.
