Politics › Re: Proposed Police Reforms. What Do You Think? by DisGuy: 2:10pm On May 07, 2009
where is the money for this reform coming from? increase tax grin

secondly i think they should reduce the number that cary weapons, the are far too many policemen with weapons
there should be a dedicated team that use weapon or they should all get pistol-concealed from public
we need a force that is approachable- i dont think anyone will like to approach a hungry man with ak 47 under the sun
to report loud neighbours or petty crime

graduates should start on a higher salary and fast track scheme- police graduate schemes

If a Nigerian is working hard in London, Sweden, United States or any other country but doesn't have papers, give him his papers. After all, that is a typical case of using diplomacy. Most Nigerians are honest and hard-working people. I am sick and tired of this criminalization of my countrymen because this is one of the most beautiful countries in the world," he said.
give him his papers?

this guy should be sending lawyers around the world giving legal advise to nigerians in unknown countries rotting away in jails and deportation camps

Oh Boy there goes the property value in Lekki.

I guess I wil not be able to afford anything there now!
do you really want to live under/next to an airport?

is this not the same area they are planning to build a port

the place will be over congested in no time, tankers, rail , planes
the noise will be too much!

Fashola should focus on other parts of lagos too leave lekki/epe/vi to private investors

UPDATE- The N16250 Refunded
The EEA family permit was issued within 1 hour last week, when the sponsor stormed BHC office at Walter Carrington with documents/letters from the European Commission and MEP to the Immigration Minister Phil Woolas on the  illegal behaviour of the BHC in the processing of application for EEA family members.
Well Done, wonder when Nigerians can get letters from their representatives at the state/national assembly

I cant wait for an igbo man to lead the country to be honest, i'm tired of reading people 'begging' to be 'allowed'
or begging for 'their turn'- doesn't sound too good for a tribe well know for their humongous ego

It's about time these 'mavericks' stop acting like tools for those we are all label incompetent!
let them come together form a party or join a party not as mere members but leaders, let them oppose
government policies out in the open instead of shouting marginalisation whilst in the ruling party!!

Strength10:
You peope, You people, you just make me sick. I am not suprised at the toxic reaction i am getting from some of you because the truth burns like H2SO4 AKA acid. I have been reading all the threads about Soludo, Akunyili on this forum and all i hear for the most part is Crucify them Crucify them, But the truth is that they have gained so much attention because they have achieved what most have not in the past, they are IGBOS and people feel they have an IGBO agenda and not Nigerian which is totally untrue, they bring sanity to their respective political offices and they are doing a good job. Nobody is talking about the Blackmail Soludo has been getting and weathering since this year just because somebody from the North wants to occupy his position. How many times have we discussed intensively and etensicely other appointed Ministers and offices in this forum that does not bear an IGBO name in front of it?? So if all some of you want to do is just talk then do it with substance. Disprove my argument and stop making a jest of yourselves.
the problem is you ranting all over the place, igbo this igbo that, these are naija politicians they get tongue lashed everywhere they get praises here and there, the problem is you dont want igbo people to be criticised! but you will happily criticise other politicians. Blackmail is part of niaja politics he is probably used to it since he got into the seat, Ndukwe* of the NCC went through the same thing, its all part of the job people undermining each other
if anything you are the one making it an igbo issue

Politics › Re: Governor Bukola Saraki Vs Governor Raji Fashola Who Wins? by DisGuy: 3:15pm On May 05, 2009
Oscar J:
well no doubt Bukola is doing well but anyday anytime Fashola is still performing better than him. You know why? a state like kwara is not as wide as Lagos and the level of work to be done in both state is incomparable. if u put a fashola in Kwara then u will know Bukola is not there yet if u undertsand what i mean.
Lagos is still the nerve of Naija and if anyone can Govern this state and take it to the level its meant to be, then u can Preside over Naija as a whole but that in itself comes with its own challenges. why do u think PDP did everything to get the lagos seat?

Eko o ni baje o!
not entirely true, if you put Alex ferguson in charge of west ham they wont win the league cup wink
You have to remember fashola is benefitting from ppp arrangements, a state like lagos will obviously benefit from private sector funding
more because of the population, bigger annual budgets, transport links, etc

KunleOshob:
I think we should be talking of drafting back Donald Duke to contest and win in 2011. After all he blazed the trail of high performance amongst Governors in this political dispensation. See what he was able to achieve in a poor state like cross river, imagine what he would do if given more resources and opportunity.
wetin Donal Duke do sef? Tinapa with the state money, how much is the state earning from Tinapa?
i reckon this guy will hollywoodise nigeria, a bit like putting spinners on a molue
we like style over substance in nigeria

Saddam's kids were just as bad, if not much worse. Uday was said to be such a cruel sadist that even his own father was disturbed.

But I agree with you that the West should distance itself from these regimes.

That said, where is the general Muslim outrage over this case? They riot in the streets when US water-boarding is mentioned but when something like this which is far, far worse occurs, there is nothing but silence.
didnt know the guy was being tortured in the name of religion, just though the guy was a sadist, alcoholic and perhaps western educated   undecided
maybe there will be an outrage when the smuggled clips makes it to the street of kano and pakistan
